We are proud to introduce you to our lake house, which is located on Pine Lake in La Porte, IN. This beautiful house has 3200 square feet of living space, so that any family will feel comfortable and relaxed. It has been completely remodeled to comfort each and every guest in this house. Six beautiful rooms and two baths will allow each guest to have their privacy and sleep comfortably(Sleeps 12 ), maximum is 12 people! Large living room with panoramic windows and fire place will allow our guests to see the stunning sunrises and sunsets with a view of the lake as you relax, refresh and revive. There are a lot of activities that can be done such as: boating, swimming, jet skiing, kayaking and fishing. As you walk downstairs to the walkout basement, you will see a pool/ping pong table for those who like to play. Sauna can hold up to five people where you can rest and gain energy for your busy life. Our basement has a walk-out sliding doors that will open the view of our beautiful backyard and the lake, where you can sit down and relax.
Bring your boat or rent one at local Marina and enjoy 564 acre Pine Lake. You can dock your boat right in front of the property. Backyard gives you enough space to play volleyball or badminton.

The property was as advertised... The house is in a great neighborhood and the amenities were as described. We had 10 Adults, 1 small child and an infant staying in the house for 8 days. There was never a time we felt cramped or had nothing to do. There were even several toys available in the home to keep our 4-year-old granddaughter occupied during quite times.
We do wish there were mirrors in the bedrooms and that the downstairs bathroom shower had a shelf for shampoo & soap. However, overall, we were very pleased with the accommodations!

We had a group of 9 adults for a long weekend and this house was great. There is lots of room to spread out if you wanted quiet time and great space to come together for meals and trash talking. We especially enjoyed the deck area. Thank you again!

After our main summer vacation plans got derailed by a medical situation we put together a quick stay in Northern Indiana. I was able to take my daughter to the outlet malls, my teen son to Valpo U for for a college visit, watched movies,my husband got to fish off the dock with my son, and those were just the rainy days. We also had a great visit up to Indiana Beach which was surprisingly decent. Sand, waves, refreshingly cool but not frigid water , nice breeze, and water views all the way up to the horizon. This house was phenomenal. Plenty of room and plenty of rooms to be together or avoid each other. Any family with teens will know both are important. Pretty views of Pine lake . The ping pong and pool table were both enjoyed, as was the paddleboat. I'd have liked more time out on Pine lake with the kayaks (my daughter demanded we return because she saw a spider in her kayak. Had we taken the time to hose out the kayaks before going out on the lake this would have been a non-issue ) The house had good water pressure in the showers. Having just learned on a recent trip how enjoyable a proper Finnish sauna (dry heat! ) I really enjoyed the in-house sauna. NO one else was game to try it, but that might have made it even better! Kroger and all stores within 10 minutes. The only thing I found slightly odd was that there were no dishrags/dishtowels, only paper towels. All my questions were answered promptly by Sergei. Would love to come back with more family/cousins

Great experience the house was ideal for our large family. The one thing that would have helped access to the porch door leading to the front parking. Plenty to do both at the house and in town ate at Around the Clock three times. Met the neighbor Frank and two of us being retired Navy we’ll need I say more. Thumbs up would recommend this vacation to anyone who asked me. Thanks

Whole family (6 adults) for our 3rd Thanksgiving at the house. Had a great group over for Wednesday dinner, 25 people ranging from 4 to 91. House was perfect again.

House and property were great! Hosts were very accommodating and communicative. We had a lovely time in all the outdoor areas to hang and dine. It was super kid friendly and had lots of activities for all ages. Definitely recommend.

We had 18 mo twins and the stairs were a challenge. We brought our own baby gates but they would not fit the wide openings. The downstairs was a colder than upstairs. We really enjoyed the deck with cover. Landscaping was beautiful. Caught a lot of little fish off dock with 5 year old grandchildren. There is no swimming beach. The inside dining table was great. We had 6 adults and 2 children around it but could have sat more. Really enjoyed the fire pit near the house. The sandbox and swingset was a plus for our grandchildren.

Great weekend away.
Great property to stay at. We would definitely stay again. The weather was cold so we didn't get to take advantage of the outside activities, but we knew that in advance. We had lots of fun with the Ping Pong table.

House is well kept
The house is well kept - unfortunately it had snowed and the walk/driveway was not cleared prior to our arrival. The owner had someone bring over a shovel asap. It wasn't how we intended on starting our trip, but snow happens!
All-in-All we were very happy with the rental & the level of communication!

They required from the begin two different deposits (1000$ and 5000$)insane, and you don't have other options .
That's how people make money!!!
The owners told as that we damaged things and used too much hot water
To use water is not a demage , and they didn't provide pictures with the demage
Of course it's hard to show something That doesn't exist
After 11 days they made a claim ,but this happend after I called vrb asking why is taking so long to get the deposit back

Family Thanksgiving
My wife and I and our 4 kids (19-24) visited LaPorte for my family’s Thanksgiving as a family for the first time. Had my siblings and all the cousins over Wednesday night. 31 in all for dinner. All fit, a great time. Easy to spread out and enjoy the holidays. Great space.

Spacious and clean
The space was clean and the property management was available and responsive. The main disappointment was that due to Covid we were told the property would be empty for 2 days before we arrived. However when we arrived the cleaning crew was just finishing. So not only was it not empty, we needed to wait outside beyond our check in time to allow the space to air out.
The property was well equipped and very spacious. Word of advice - bring lots of bug spray!

Family Fishing/Reunion
We booked this because the children were anxious to fish, and their dads love to fish too. This house was a comfortable size for our six adults and four children ( a family with two adults and two children had to cancel at the last minute). It had a great set up for eating, preparing food, relaxing, and sleeping, with many amenities. A third bathroom would have been helpful, especially if the other adults had come. Adults and children alike loved the kayaks and paddle boat, and fishing off the dock, while others relaxed in comfortable chairs on the lawn. Toddler loved the sandbox! We spent four nights but did not have time to use the fire pits! Arrived on Monday, there was a huge storm on Tuesday evening which knocked out electricity until about 1pm Wednesday. We also spent Wednesday evening and Thursday afternoon at Lake Michigan, which was about 45 minutes away. Big hit!
Because some of the adults had to work remotely part time during the week, Internet connection was important and satisfactory.
Fishing was disappointing because the small part of the lake in front of the house had many weeds and lily pads. Kids caught one large bowfin, a smaller bass( from the kayak) around the bend, and a bunch of small bluegill/ sunfish from the kayaks and dock. We did not rent a pontoon but a friendly neighbor took us for a ride on the main part of the lake!
We brought games- did not see any in this house. Enjoyed ping pong.
The hosts were easy to reach via text or phone when we had questions.
We had a great time and really enjoyed staying in this home.

Amazing experience
The house was perfect for 3 families all with kids. The ping pong/pool table were a hit with the adults and older kids. Huge yard with plenty of room for kids of all ages. We rented a boat from a local marina so having the dock in the backyard was perfect.
The experience with the owner was great to. She was extremely helpful and always answered any questions that I had before our trip.

Wonderful place for a family getaway !
Sofana On The Lake was the perfect place for our family trip! We were 8 adults and 4 kids under 5. There was plenty to do for all, in this beautiful, clean, spacious home. The house was bigger than in looked in the pictures. It was well stocked and the kids loved the big yard, swing set and toys. We loved the kitchen and huge dining table. The location and the lake gave us plenty to do. We kayaked, rented a boat from Pine Lake Marina, went to the dunes, enjoyed a day at Washington Park Zoo, went blueberry picking, had fires in the fire pit and grilled out! We highly recommend this wonderful property and look forward to returning!

Great Getaway for Families
We got together with family for my 60th birthday celebration. Family came in from Chicago and Michigan. The house was perfect for us. There was enough room for everyone. The weather was not ideal but we had enough to do at the house so we didn't need to leave to have fun. The inside and outside were great. There was plenty of room at the kitchen table for all 11 of us. We grilled outside and cooked inside. We would love to return again for the next celebration.

Our Little Family Reunion
Sofana on the Lake was an ideal retreat house for my family which is spread across four states from Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, and Colorado. There was plenty of room for our 8 adults and 4 kids. We especially loved a lower level area where the littlest kids could be noisy in the morning, without waking everyone else. We were working around several nap schedules, so the addition of toys, a swing set, sandbox, 2 kayaks, a paddle boat, pool table, ping pong, and fire pits made this all-in-one destination home perfect for a group that could not constantly be on the go. Five out of six rooms have full or larger beds, which made it perfect for our five families. Pros & Cons: The hosts were extremely pleasant and very quick to communicate. They encouraged us to call if we had questions. The home was very clean except a stray spider web or two. A couple rooms were small, but most of our time was spent in the very large gathering areas. There was a sauna and 3 showers, but only 2 toilets, still we managed. A couple bedroom outlets were not as convenient as hoped—just pack a night light and extension cord. There are plenty of pans, dishware, and appliances, but not a ton of serving bowls. You will find tons of wonderful outdoor seating, firewood and propane for cooking, unfortunately, we had a long weekend filled with heavy rain. We were also afforded many useful spices, soap, plenty of towels, and toys. Most of the common areas have couches or bench style seating. Our biggest challenge was dining on long benches. Tiny kids and big adults found it tough to shimmy up to the long indoor dining table together. Given the rain, our group would have benefited from a bigger door mat on the lower level and couple small chairs on the main floor. The sun made a few appearances and the large, landscaped yard and lake access was wonderful. We had a pontoon boat and really benefited from the dock. I might recommend a notebook to aid future guests with broom locations, how to turn on televisions, and detailed check-out instructions. Overall, we would absolutely stay here again. It rained heavily, but we found pockets of sunshine all over this home. We are fans!

Great location and party lake! Lots of young and fun.
We absolutely love the property and location. July 4th fireworks are amazing. Neighborhood fireworks were a pleasant addition. If you want a great time and location this is the place to rent. A few things to be aware of... bring toilet paper, bug spray and paper towels. Bring garbage bags. This is our second year using this house and we had an amazing time. The neighborhood is a party. Neighbors stop by regularly and will pop up often to join the festivities. Lots of party music happening from all sides, people up and about day and night so hard not to have a smile on your face when are here.

Beautiful respite!
Our usual group of adults who travel together to all inclusive resorts decided to try a lake house together and it did not disappoint! Other than the not-so-pleasant weather, we did NOT have any trouble finding fun, and laughing ALOT! We still went to the dunes, rented a pontoon, used the firepit daily (really that and the huge fun yard is where we spent most of our time), and enjoyed exploring the area. The house is humongous and the 9 of us never felt crammed in at all. The view is stunning (even when it's raining) and we loved watching the baby swallows leave the nest, about a dozen other varying kinds of birds, turtles....and frogs who serenaded us every evening. We cooked every meal and the kitchen was plenty of space, and we all fit around that gigantic dining table! We would love to go back!

Great Family Retreat
Really a nice level of activities for all ages. We boated, kayaked, paddle boarded and had fires by the lake. Good level of playground stuff for younger kids. Nice rustic lake house.

Despite having to leave early due to a neighborhood-wide power outage, we really enjoyed our stay! The place was beautiful and had pretty much everything you would want in a home away from home.

Nice spacious house with water front
We rested in this house on Christmas Eve for the weekend. We liked everything very much, a large spacious house, a fireplace with a bearskin and a view of the water as in Venice, in the summer we will return without a doubt if Serg buy a new fishing boat and makes an all-inclusive package for us :))) Thank you Serg

Beautiful stay in a spacious clean home
Very happy with this rental. Great location, just a little over an hour drive from Chicago. Spacious, private house and very clean. Big back yard right on the lake with a bon fire. We all had a great time!

Roomy with a view
The house is beautiful and spacious. The bedroom configuration was perfect for our needs. Plenty of towels and decent beds and linens. The pictures don't do justice to the layout of the house. We had 10 adults and 2 children under 2. We were never crowded. Three bedrooms are downstairs and three are upstairs. Two large living areas and an amazing playroom area allow for multiple activities. The kitchen is well stocked for dishes etc. I highly recommend this property.

Great house, lake and location
The pictures do not do this fantastic place justice. Love the direct access to Pine Lake. We rented a boat from Pine Lake Marina and kept it at the house our entire stay. We had three families (14 people) with ages as little as 4 and there was something for everyone. There were beds for everyone and plenty of space to move around. A massive kitchen table so everyone could eat together. The kids play set and sand box were a hit with the little ones. The hot tub, sauna, ping pong and pool were great for the bigger kids/adults. The fire pit was great at night for everyone. There is tons of outdoor space to run around. The kids were also able to fish right off the pier. Great distance from the Chicago area and the town has everything you need (groceries, liquor store, etc) with delivery right to the house. I would totally recommend this place.

Amazing Family Weekend
We had a perfect weekend in this beautiful home. The house was perfect and exactly what we were hoping for. As others have mentioned, the pictures don’t do the property justice. It is extremely spacious- our entire family (10 adults and 3 children) easily fit. There is also a lot to do in the area. We visited the beach in Michigan City, rented a boat in the marina, roasted marshmallows at the bonfire and swam off the dock. Sergii was extremely quick to respond and easy to work with. We will definitely be back.

The lake house that had it all!
My family of 13 did a long weekend vacation for my mom's 60th birthday and this house really had it all (hot tub, pool table, sauna, fire pit, huge yard, beautiful deck, swing set with slide, sandbox, indoor toys for my 2yr old, and a dock to tie up the pontoon boat we rented. The house is WAY bigger than the pictures look. We set up a volleyball net in the yard, played bocce ball, took the boat out, swam, grilled, took a dip in the hot tub, and sat by the fire at night. It rained for a couple hours but the pool table, game tables, sauna, and hot tub kept us all occupied. The big table right off the kitchen was huge! It fit all 13 of us and made cooking and socializing fun for all. Sergii was also very responsive and easy to communicate with. The house was very clean, comfortable, private, and in a very nice neighborhood. I will definitely rent again next year!

Awesome Lake House
I would definitely go back to sofana on the lake. The house can easily accommodate 12 people conformably. Absolutely loved the lake access, large yard and fire pit, and the sauna. Everyone in the party enjoyed their stay.
