About this house rental

This house is located on the peninsula and approximately 3 miles from Cedar Point Amusement Park and 2 miles from Sports Force. The property has wonderful views of Lake Erie and Sandusky Bay (a deck at the end of the lane provides a nice place to enjoy fishing and sunsets over the bay) where you could enjoy fishing.

Cedar Points public beach is a great place to enjoy swimming, jet ski rentals, paddle boards and parasailing.

This two story home features a wall of sliding glass doors on the second floor to provide stunning morning views of Lake Erie. There is a large family room on the upper and lower level both with 42 inch TVs. The upper primary bedroom has a king bed and shares a full bath with Tub. The first floor primary has a private bathroom and a queen bed. The second floor has an additional bedroom with four twin beds a full bathroom and a second family room.

There are two decks on which you can enjoy your meals, drinks, and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. There is a gas grille on the deck right outside the kitchen patio door.

The kitchen is well-equipped. Linens for bedrooms and baths are provided for your use.

First time using VRBO and all went surprisingly well. We visit the Lakes often, normally staying in the Vermilion area hotel but this trip was to celebrate Grandpa turning 96 so we wanted a little more room. Communication was excellent, property easy to find, and lock worked as instructed. First floor bedroom with bathroom was perfect, and I loved the upstairs separate living area. The main bedroom upstairs reminded me of a cruise ship cabin, which was perfect. It took a little getting used to all the floor to ceiling windows without blinds or curtains but the views were absolutely worth it. The steps up the back was a little challenging for my grandfather, but he could easily walk around to the front entrance. The Wifi worked perfect for me to work from there one day. We all loved the Sunrises from the front deck, and Sunsets from the backyard. Rate was very reasonable and deposit was returned within 48 hours after checking out. I would stay here again, and liked that this owner has other properties close together that large families could book multiple homes and still be close enough to gather for dinner or visiting.

Our family of 4 stayed here as a stop over on our trip to NY. We hit Cedar point for the day while here. House was so close to the park, had amazing views from the 2nd floor and met our family’s needs. We really enjoyed the location - you can’t beat it! The only down side (and really is not a fault, just something you should know) is that the stairs are a little steeper than normal in the house, so if you have mobility issues, keep that in mind when booking. Even with that said, we would for sure book this house again!

Very convenient location to Cedar Point. The views are beautiful from the balcony. Found everything we needed for our stay. We stayed with our grandchildren who are tweens, they loved that they had their own space. Would definitely stay again.

Instructions were good, the view was also very nice. Small kitchen and a little more wear and tear on the home than I'd expected for the price, but all in all the we had a nice visit. Just waiting on my refundable deposit and once I get that back, I'd say all in all it was a successful short trip to Sandusky, OH.

This rental unit was perfect for a family. The layout of the house allows a group to stay upstairs as well as downstairs We used the outdoor grill which was a nice convenience. The view of Lake Erie is beautiful. Would highly recommend!

We had a busy convention held at Kalahari for our daughters. This place was the quiet we needed to unwind and spend family time together. The view was beautiful and the beds were so comfortable! We really appreciated having the small amenities (washer dryer with soap, stain spray, dish soap, dishwasher soap, etc) and cannot wait to come back again!

The house was fantastic and the location beautiful. I think 8 is a good max on the number of people because anymore and it would get way cramped, but our 6 adults enjoyed the space immensely.

Truly enjoyed our stay at this home. Doug’s family lives nearby, so if you need anything they are very responsive and extremely friendly. The house has beautiful views of the water and easy access to/from Cedar Point. We will absolutely stay at one of the properties owned by Doug again.

This was a great place to stay for a trip to Cedar Point. It's on Cedar Point Rd. which is the secret, back way into the park that not everyone knows about. There's lots of space on both floors to gather with the people in your group. If the bugs and weather are cooperating, the upstairs deck is a terrific spot to enjoy the adult beverage of your choice while taking in the view of Lake Erie and pondering if Top Thrill 2 will ever reopen. If you're going to Cedar Point with a group of 4-8 people, booking this property is likely to be a much bigger bang for your buck than any of the motels/hotels in Sandusky. And it's probably a better deal than Hotel Breakers for just two people. We will definitely stay here again.

Overall we had a great experience. The place is lovely. Sitting on the Balcony was fun. It was cool that we could see the sun rise on Lake Erie from the balcony and Sunset on Sandusky Bay about a 100 Feet down the lane. It was clean. We went off season, but still had lots of things to do. Great central location, we were close to Port Clinton, Catawba Island, Marblehead, Sandusky, Huron, and Vermillion.

The home is as advertised. Very clean, comfortable and spacious. The waterfront views are gorgeous. Location is great. Not far from major stores, food and the amusement park. Doug was a great host. He provided great communication throughout our stay. Looking forward to returning

Great location and very close to the park. A few things in need of repair but nothing to prevent having a good experience. The bugs. I’m not if it is the area but there are a lot of small flying insects. It prevented us from using the grill and the upstairs deck. Details of the visit I provided to the property owner

Beautiful lake home located near Cedar Point. The view from the upstairs patio of Lake Erie is incredible. Lots of screen doors to keep the breeze flowing at night. There are three bathrooms but two are pretty small and one is shared. Overall this was a great stay. Wouldn't count on the dryer working too well though.

After a little initial snafu with scheduling we worked out an alternate arrangement. I’m apt to give the owner the benefit of the doubt. These online platforms can be a puzzle at times. The property is nice and close to Cedar Point. Views from the upstairs porch are unmatched. The Owners parents live nearby and were super friendly every time we saw them. We hope to stay here again soon.

We didn't get to stay here. Even though we had a reservation and paid in full 1 month before. Our friends arrived first and called to tell us someone was already staying there. Property Owner had neglected to adequately monitor property calendar during a system calendar migration and notice 2 reservations, 2 payments.... This was even after some messages with him 1-2 weeks before arrival. We were two hours from home, $400 of food for a long weekend, and no where to go. The best he could do was refund us (2-4 days processing before we can get that money back. Verify your reservations specifically... it seems owners are not really paying attention and/or do not have appropriate staffing to monitor reservations, calendars, and payments.

The pictures don’t even give this home enough credit. It’s beautiful inside and out and the view in the morning is breath taking. Doug’s property was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back

As season pass holders this is an ideal location. The property is well maintained with excellent views of Lake Erie. The beds are comfortable and ample seating throughout the home. Owner has many properties in the area and his folks were close by if we needed anything at all. Process to book was super easy as waa check in. Our family loves this place.

House was “ok” for our trip. House has aged greatly since pictures taken and posted. floors were cracked and uneven throughout causing tripping hazards. Tons of bugs all over the area around the house that get inside. You couldn’t be outside for more than a minute without having tons all over you. It made the outdoor spaces completely unusable. Fishing was not as advertised. It was more of a muddy marsh and not easy to cast a line as it was only a few inches deep in close proximity to the shore. Very close to Cedar Point and other necessities.

Fine accommodations for our short stay. Close to Cedar Point, reason for our trip, beautiful view of Lake Erie. However, could be much more cleaner than it was. Lots of cobwebs around, tiles on floor in living room and kitchen area pretty dirty and could really use small trash cans in bathrooms.
