About this house rental
“Somewhere…” is a beautiful haven on the scenic Rainbow River in Dunnellon, Florida. The home commands a hilltop with a long view to the river below. Just blocks from downtown Dunnellon, Somewhere… feels like miles from everywhere. It is tastefully decorated with three spacious bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, top of the line appliances, a big open plan living and dining room with a gas fireplace, a separate TV room/den, laundry room with Samsung large capacity washer and dryer and two-car garage. Each bedroom overlooks the river and the wall of french doors in the living room opens onto the perfect view. A large deck that wraps the river side of the house and provides fresh breezes from the spring fed river to the accompaniment of dozens of varieties of birds. There is even a dock on the water.
The deep water dock is a great place to tie up your boat. A city ramp nearby makes it easy to load and unload your trailer. To the north, the Rainbow River is cold, clear and teeming with wildlife (there is a bridge to go under). To the south, the Withlacoochee is home to some of the best fresh water fishing in Florida.
We've seen dozens of varieties of birds in our own backyard and the nearby Ocala forest and other wilderness areas have some of the best birdwatching in the state. We've logged birds of prey like hawks, osprey and owls; waterfowl like great blue and great white herons, coots, anhingas and cormorants; songbirds like chickadees, tufted titmouse and mockingbirds; woodpeckers large and small including the stunning pileated variety. Bluebirds nest every year in their very own birdhouse.
The master bedroom with en suite bath is furnished with a king bed. One guest room holds a queen and the other is decorated with twins. There is a queen sofa bed, bringing the sleeping capacity comfortably to eight.
The kitchen is well-appointed with GE Profile and Kitchenaid appliances including a gas range. There is also a gas grill on the deck. Careful attention to detail means you’ll find everything you need to prepare meals here.
The living room/dining room overlooks the large back deck. It is open and airy with french doors and a vaulted ceiling. The sleeper sofa is in the living room. The warmly furnished den holds a new 55-inch smart TV and Blu-ray player. Internet and TV are provided.
A newly prepared quilting, sewing and crafting room with tables, swivel chairs, 2 ironing stations, cutting stations and space for your design walls seats 8 comfortably. It is air conditioned, bright and clean. Sewing machines are available to rent, classes can be arranged and additional services and information can be reviewed at somewhereforquilting.com.
The Rainbow River is fed by the fourth-largest spring in Florida and pours up to 600 million gallons of crystal clear, ice cold water into the Withlacoochee River daily just downstream from Somewhere…. The Rainbow flows at a constant 74° year-round. It may be a little warmer by the time it gets to Somewhere… about 5 miles downstream from the spring, but it is always bracingly refreshing. Tubing is the most popular activity on the river and the fishing on both the Rainbow and Withlacoochee Rivers is excellent. Rainbow Springs State Park, at the river’s head spring, is just a few miles away and easily accessible from Highway 41, the main road through town. On the river you’re likely to see otters, turtles, deer, osprey, eagles and the occasional alligator. Local tour operators and rental companies can provide everything your party needs to spend a wonderful day on the water.
Dunnellon is about 30 minutes from Ocala and Crystal River, and less than 2 hours from Orlando, Tampa and St. Petersburg.
The minimum stay at Somewhere… is seven nights except for quilting, sewing or crafting retreats for whom shorter stays can be arranged. Pets can be accommodated; contact the owner to discuss.

This quiet, riverside retreat is absolutely beautiful. We are a family of four with a medium sized dog, and stayed here last year. We were all so pleased to see that it was just as wonderful this year too. There is plenty of space with gorgeous river views, and if you like to cook, the cooking utensils are plentiful. We love it here, and Andrea is wonderful. Look toward to returning again.

This property was out of this world. We use it as a home base for a big photo and video shoot. It was perfect. The owner and neighbours were so friendly and nice. Amazing location, quiet. We hope we'll have the chance to go there again one day.

This house is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Great place to stay away from the main river activities but close enough to paddle with ease!
The dock is wonderful to tie your boat to and/or to fish from.
Swimming from the dock was a bonus as the water is clear and clean.
We enjoyed paddling the river and riding the nearby bike trails.
Andrea Wilson, the host, was wonderful with answering any and all questions prior to check-in. The house is so fully stocked, that we only needed our bathing suits to enjoy the week. Nearby restaurants and grocery stores added to the convenience of the location.,
If you have a large family or just want a large house to rent on the Rainbow River, this is the place for you!!

The property was exactly as advertised, but even more stunning upon arrival. The house was well-stocked, clean, and everything was in working order. The view was phenomenal, and the new fenced in area at the front was exactly what our dog needed. As for the owner. Andrea, she was exceptional. She made everything easy and communicated promptly. Our only nit was that we couldn’t stay longer. We absolutely fell in love with the place! Andrea, thank you ever so much for allowing us to stay. We’d love to come back.

Just perfect!
The house, the location, the panorama. Everything was perfect. The house had everything our family needed from a fully equipped kitchen to a beautiful backyard with its own boat dock where we fished and docked our boat and rented kayaks. The morning coffee watching the birds and squirrels play was a plus. The location was perfect with everything within close distance. This was truly a wonderful relaxing getaway for our family. Thank you Andrea for sharing your beautiful home.

Perfect Riverfront Getaway
We had a wonderful week full of delightful memories in this very special house by the river. The house is perfect for families traveling together. We thoroughly enjoyed the dock and the rear deck. We rented kayaks for the week from Blue Run Cart Master and River Rat Rentals. (They were great!) We also rented a pontoon boat for the day from Captain Bob's, which was wonderful! We were able to go back to the house and leave the boat at the dock while we had lunch.
This house is AMAZING! We loved it! The kitchen is one of the most well stocked kitchens I have ever seen in a vacation rental. (And we rent vacation homes 6+ times a year) It had EVERYTHING we needed. It was very clean, cozy and plenty of space. The host was very easy to work with. And the view from all of the rooms in the house and on the back deck is absolutely perfect!

Father's Day vacation
This house was ideal for a relaxing vacation for our family with grown children and their partners. There was lots of space to relax and space for remote work (for some that had to). There were 6 of us that stayed on & off during the week vacation. We live in Florida only 1.5 hrs. away and this is a perfect location to see the beauty of nature and the Springs. The house is a great location to town (grocery, restaurants, gas). There is a biking area that follows downstream and easy to get to from the neighborhood. We used paddleboards, kayaks, and tubes to enjoy the Rainbow Springs river. Nature watching is bountiful! We enjoyed observing so many different birds. We saw small gators, water snakes, otters, and numerous turtles. During our stay, we had a family gathering and BBQ for Father's Day. Everyone enjoyed the meal and had a wonderful time on the Rainbow River.

AMAZING view of Rainbow River
This vacation rental what just what the doctor prescribed after a long year of Covid worries. We wanted to stay somewhere where we could reconnect with family and with nature. Originally from Crystal River I know the area well. This home is perfectlly located near the end of the Rainbow River, which is TERRIFIC because weekends can be busy on the river however you will never know it here. You will see a few boats but tubers exit is just a bit before. So you can enjoy the peace, privacy and serenity you are looking for while being close to all the restaurants and other activities. Andrea was a terrific host! She is quick to respond and the home is extremely well cared for and appointed. We grilled on the large back deck and swam off the dock. While the pictures here are beautiful, we were actually blown away once we walked into the house. The view of the river even from inside the home is just one in a million. Our family travels to Rainbow Springs every summer to tube down river together. We will absolutley be coming back! For any travelers that are new to this area be sure to check out Swampy's Bar & Grill, it is just down the street and take your bathing suite because when you get hot you can go for a swim. One of my favorite places to stop when in the area.

Great Christmas over the Rainbow
Had a lovely time with family over Christmas. The temp. dropped below freezing for 2 nights but the river was still warm and magical. Beautiful view of the river and the house is very tastefully decorated. Loved it.

Rainbow River with Style
This property has a great location on the Rainbow River so that you can travel upstream to the springs or connect with the Withlacoochee River. Both rivers are very different and very interesting. The interior is nicely decorated with art and has a well supplied kitchen. Plenty of room for friends and additional family. The property is very spacious and the driveway will accommodate long trailers if you have a boat

Somewhere wonderful

Beautiful property
The property is so beautiful it looks like something out of a magazine. The walk to the dock is a little tough for the elderly but with assistance its doable. The house has absolutely everything you need, however the gas grill had no propane when we went to use it so we had to run and buy some before we could use it. The house its self it very roomy and open and has a beautiful deck to sit and enjoy the river views. The only thing the house was short on is towels but we brought extra of our own as we always do on vaca bc we have ran into that before as we usually vacation somewhere on the water and need beach towels for everyone. The property manager is very friendly does not intrude when arriving to do the yard work, we had bad storms pretty much every day we were there for the week and he came and cleaned up all the branches and debris in the yard during our stay. While on the beautiful Rainbow River we saw a few small alligators, lots of turtles, big bass and otters. The river alone is such a beautiful site, it is by far our favorite spring fed river to float, swim and snorkel. Check in and out is very easy. Overall we all had a wonderful time and would definitely return again.

Ideal rental property for Rainbow River activities!
Simply a great property that is very well kept, recently upgraded & ideal for local activities. Very close to both Swampy's Bar & Grille and the Blue Gator Tiki Bar following Rainbow River tubing activities. The Blue Gator Tiki Bar is recommended over Swampy's based on menu quality, however, both should be visited regardless. Both venues have canoe & kayak rentals near-by which both take advanced reservations (highly recommended) but note that higher-end rental equipment is located next to the Blue Gator Tiki Bar at Rainbow River Kayak Adventures LLC.
Regarding the rental property, the owners are "over-the-top" great in addition to their cleaning crew. Easy to work with and very accommodating all the way. The house is an older property however very well kept with lots of inside upgrades throughout the property. Very comfortable place and highly recommended versus spending a ton of dough on some other property options along Rainbow River.
We plan to revisit the property in the future and be sure to watch the property's fly-by video stream. A really cool place from our perspective & at the right price especially when split up between a couple families. Also has a brand new grill on the back deck plus updated appliances which play well for extended stays.

Tranquility, beautiful nature
We are had great time. Chrystal river was refreshing and truly beautiful. We enjoyed outside patio area at night with a glass of wine. We did tubing and kayaking from KP hole. Kids jumped of the dock in clear water, that felt refreshing after the hot temperatures of the day.
I want to thank the owners for thoughtfulness of making us welcome and the house comfortable to stay.

Beautiful Home on the Rainbow River!
My husband and myself had a very relaxing stay at Somewhere. We brought our Bass boat and fished on the Rainbow River and Withlacooche River. The fish don't seem to be as many as prior years but my husband still caught a few.
I brought my Nikon D3200 as I love to take pictures of the wildlife on the rivers. There were otters that came by early evening everyday. A turtle came into the backyard and layed her eggs. There is a Gator that came by in the later evening. Hummingbirds abound on the porch with the feeders on it. I had plenty to take pictures of! Oh and a hawk that came everyday too!
The home is very inviting and decorated beautifully! A great layout too.
If you are wanting a great time you will experience it here! Very close to shopping also. We have stayed on the Rainbow River every year for over 20 years and this was one of our favorite places.
Thank you Andrea for being so nice and easy to contact too.
We look forward to coming back next year to Somewhere!!!

Amazing property.
From the minute we pulled into the driveway we knew we made the perfect choice in choosing this property for our Easter Spring Break. We planned this trip with our three boys and another couple with two teenage girls and the house was perfect. It had all the kitchen amenities and grilling supplies, was spacious and had a bunch of puzzles and great games. The back deck overlooking the river was great for morning coffee, afternoon lunch and evening wine. It was close to everything. We brought our kayaks and paddle boards and were able to drop right in and take them up to the local grill Swampy’s. We rented a pontoon boat at The Blue Gator and did the airboat tour which were both grear. We did Zip lining at Tree top adventure about 20 min drive and had such a fun time.
All in all the property was great and so close to everything. We will definitely rent here again.

AMAZING!!! Such a beautiful house and property!
The house was exactly as it looks in the pictures. Walking in the front door and seeing the french doors with the water view is like a slice of heaven. Andrea made sure we had everything we could need too! The location itself is also wonderful. We were able to take day trips no longer than 40 minutes away to Silver Spring, Ziplining in Ocala, swam with manatees at Crystal Springs/Three Sisters Springs, and enjoyed morning walks at Rainbow Springs State Park. We didn't want to leave, and hope to come back again.

Breathtaking!
As soon as walked in I was shocked to see see the very spacious house and back yard. That was when I knew that this was the perfect home to spend my Christmas/Winter vacation. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed and it was also very close to grocery stores and gas stations. The back yard was the highlight of the house, there’s a beautiful river that you could swim, kayak, and take boat rides in. Overall it was a very peaceful and relaxing vacation that allowed me to spend time with my family and enjoy time in nature.
