LATEST NEWS: Rushton Cottage has had a make-over! The exterior is now on-trend (relative to heritage precincts) deep grey complemented with stark white trims. The guest sitting room has a new piece of furniture that has made a huge difference. Enjoy the new photos including those that give you a peek from one room to another so that you have a great idea of the space you are contemplating.

Escaping the big rush or passing through, make memories at Benalla Rushton Cottage. Rushton Cottage Guest Suite provides a tranquil escape within a historical home nestled on a quiet, tree-lined street in the heart of Benalla. Guests and their furry companions can unwind on the charming bull-nose veranda or explore the shaded garden, which has a 1m – 1.10m high Edwardian style picket fence for pet safety.

The Guest Suite has a spacious bedroom with ensuite (shower-over-bath) and a separate well-equipped sitting/dining room ideal for breakfast, takeaway, or delivered meals. French doors ensure guest privacy from the main house.

The 12-year experienced host offers 24/7 support and a hands-off hosting style, allowing guests to settle in for a relaxing stay.

Pets are welcome with advance notice and are expected to remain under the guest's supervision and off guest beds. Enquiries about on-site doggy daycare are encouraged.

Additional to the amenities listed elsewhere, Rushton Cottage also provides:
• Iron and ironing board, and …
• “Good Fairy” dish washing service.

Rushton Cottage's business model suits stays up to 7 days. Longer stays have been successful following discussions with me.

I live on-site site in a private section separate from the Guest Suite. I adore Rushton Cottage and hope you will enjoy this 1904 cottage as much.

Rushworth Cottage was a charming stay with a relaxing atmosphere. Cottage is close to shops and local walks. Our host was very accommodating and friendly during our stay.

We recently had a pleasure of staying your dog friendly house. Our girls had a lot of fun. The owner is very friendly and welcoming and helped us to find different places to go for walking trail. It is a peaceful neighborhood and only 2 streets from the main streets where all the shops and beautiful cafes and bakeries. We hope to go back there and stay at your place

The suite was perfect for what we needed, Jane was soo very friendly and helpful & we had our little dog Molly with us. I would highly recommend Ruston Cottage, close to all amenities & not far to travel to surrounding towns lots to do, thank you Jane 😀😀😀

This cottage was the perfect place to stay for a few days of work and relaxation in Benalla. It is on a quiet street but centrally located and looks out onto a beautiful cottage garden. It is spotlessly clean and thoughtfully set up and Jane is the ideal host - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about local amenities but respectful of privacy. It was a lovely place to stay.

Rushton cottage was a great pet friendly spot for our short stay in Benalla. Everything was perfect and our host Jane was very friendly and accommodating. Our doggie enjoyed it too. Definitely would go back again.

IT WAS A COSY PLACE. THE OWNER WAS SO HELPFUL AND COULDNT DO ENOUGH TO HELP, EVEN OFFERING TO CHECK ON OUR DOG WHEN WE WENT OUT FOR TEA. OUR DOGGIE LOVED SNIFFING AROUND THE GARDEN. BED WAS SUPER COMFY

Jane's space was just lovely, overlooking her beautiful garden, and airconditioned, which is something I appreciated, coming in on a hot day! There were so many little touches that made the stay special, Jane had clearly thought about what a guest might need. And I loved my "grandma-to-be" pack, so thoughtful :) The space was spotless, I had everything I needed, and I was a bit reluctant to leave the rooms as it was so comfy! However, I ventured out to check out the street art of Benalla. Wow, very impressive! Loved the botanical gardens too. The whole town has a really nice vibe to it and despite being small, has everything you need. I will be back!

If you're looking for a cosy comfy cottage feel Jane's place is for you. Her local knowledge is exceptional and she truly makes you feel welcome pics don't do it justice! Jane really goes above and beyond especially making my furbabys feel welcome:) A lovely getaway that is away from the city bustle and such lovely locals!

We had a very relaxing stay in Benalla thanks to the charming cottage accomodation, which exactly as described. Jane warmly welcomed us and gave us great advice on what Benalla had to offer. The cottage was strategically located close to the town centre, lake and botanic garden. Good restaurants were to be found just around the corner. A perfect base to explore Benalla.

You will have exclusive, private access to the front yard and front half of the heritage home. The perfect place to rest, located 15mins away from one of the pit stops of the local silo art trail. Treat yourself!

We had a lovely two night stay. Very comfortable for two people with everything you need for a short visit. Beds were comfy and plenty of towels etc. Pleasant spot to sit on the front veranda with a drink and enjoy the leafy garden. Recommended.

The place was lovely, super clean, spacious, great location within walking distance of everything, and Jane (the host) is truly lovely and helpful. A fantastic place to stay- Jane has put so much love into this charming cottage. It’s a beautiful place to stay in a quiet neighbourhood. Jane was a great, friendly host. The property was gorgeous, 3-5min walking distance to a great pub, main shopping strip and vline. We stayed during the Christmas/boxing day public holidays and our car broke down but it was so awesome in Benalla with our large dog (old English sheepdog). The garden was beautiful and we could leave our door open so our dog Humphrey could run in and out. The cottage was so clean, great fan/aircon system as it was very hot in Benalla. I’d definitely stay again. Think I might take the vline from there abs jump from town to town next time
