Clean, comfortable and cozy. So much outdoor seating and great views rain or shine, day or night. Unlike some places we have stayed, the cute kitchen was well stocked with everything including coffee filters, basic spices, sugar, flour, etc.
The view from the decks at night and during the lightning storms were amazing while swinging on the porch swings. You could even do some crabbing and paddle board from the private pier!
Gaynell was a great communicator and very responsive. We could not have felt more welcome!! Amazing! Her notebook of information was super helpful for all things local. Wi-Fi was strong enough to work remotely. A really relaxing stay! We HIGHLY recommend. Thank you, Gaynellđ

It isnât our first time staying here and it wonât be our last! Once again, everything was wonderful! Property is as described. Very clean and maintained. Great spot to stay and go to all the Louisiana activities. We chose this home because it was on the lake and my teen son loves to fish. He caught several fish and a dozen crabs too.
It was also a great central spot to be able to go to New Orleans, plantation homes, swamp tours and horseback riding and charter fishing. Good restaurants nearby if you donât want to cook or just want good seafood.
The host is wonderful. She remedied a small problem that came up during our stay and checked on us afterward.

We relaxed enjoyed family playing games reading books and watching movies (Together)and fishing on the dock, beautiful sunrises and stunning sunsets, kenny's is a must try delicious đ Rigolets for bait outstanding Slidell southern hospitality amazing, and just over the bridge is New Orleans with it's rich culture, delicious food and so many things to do.we loved the house , the location wished we could have stayed longer. Stellar family trip !

The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The outdoor space was amazing with great views of the sunset. Fishing on the dock was fun even though it was cold. So close to the boat launch for boating. Also communicating with the host was easy and quick. Hope to go back again.

We had a great time in this house. We watched sunrise every morning. I enjoyed my coffee at the porch while my husband and the kids were fishing at the pier. They had fun catching all the catfish. All of the catches were 2+ lb.
The house is right on lake side. But there is no water traffic. You can sit on the porch or pier all day long peacefully, and to absorb the serenity. The neighborhood is very quiet. Since that is not a pass thru street, it seldom has any traffic.
The house was very clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had all the cooking utensils and seasoning. We just needed to get grocery from Walmart (about 15min away). We cooked breakfast every morning.
Danielle, the host, was super nice and friendly, you will get the true southern hospitality from her. She went above and beyond to make sure we got everything we needed to have a great stay. I told her about my kids who love fishing, she offered us some shrimp baits. They caught so many catfish. They also tried crab traps, but no luck.
Highway 11 is right there. It took us about 30min to go to New Orleans. We end up went there twice. We watched the Sugar Bowl parade, visited French Quarter, Jackson Square, French Market and the 2 National Parks locations (French Quarter Visitor Center, Jazz museum).
This house is at perfect location where you can enjoy the quietness and you are not far from all the attractions. And the hospitality will make you feel super welcome.

Just got back from three nights in the heat of August at this lovely house on Lake Pontchartrain. Gaynell (owner) was very friendly and accommodating. My son and I enjoyed fishing at night on the lights and we caught lots of different species of fish - and some really big garfish too.
We also caught several large crabs of the pier using the nets provided. We had nice boil the last day we were there. I recommend this place for a relaxing get away..

This property was perfect for our trip. Itâs close to the interstate and convenient to restaurants, groceries and shopping. The property has plenty of space to just sit and enjoy being with family and friends or go out on the pier to fish and crab. My nephews had a ball trying to catch crabs and fish. We hosted a crab and shrimp boil for our family and friends and had everything we needed to make the event a huge success. The house is well stocked with pot and pans, serving trays and utensils to put on an event for over 20 people. Even with the temperatures hovering around 95, the constant breeze off the lake and covered seating kept it comfortable to sit and enjoy being on the lake. So if you want to experience a southern tradition of âGoing to the Campâ to make family memories or have a âFais do-doâ than this is the place for you.

Fishing & sight seeing
We came to fish and visit New Orleans and this was a great location to do both. The cottage is cute, the boat launch is great and right up the road (also sells shrimp for bait), NOLA is a easy half hour drive. The host was charming and very easy to work with. The only thing we were disappointed with is that you canât keep your boat in the water at this dock. The brackish water made for great fishing and we caught both fresh and salt water fish.

We spoke to our host GAYNELL a few times before we stayed @property. Very helpful. Showed us where everything was. We had large rooms to to relax when we weren't fishing or crabbing .fished @ night too on the long PIER. . crab nets were provided but no crabs caught. Maybe next time. Lovely to wake up to a lovely sunrise + see a lovely sunset. Just making this starvation 45 mins away awesome.

Mrs. Gaynell is awesome!! Didnât catch crabs or fish due to no tidal movement. We expected this. The pier is a long one so be in shape. A sodium vapor light at very end of deck would be a great addition. Very relaxing time. Would recommend!!

An excellent place for fishing and catching blue crabs.
We came to NOLA just for the seafood! This lake house offers us the self fishing for seafood and catching blue crabs. We caught lots of catfish, striped fish that are like the tilapia specie. All the amenities that we need. We bought our own seasonings and had had a very good time! The house has a wonderful view; with two grandmas, we couldnât go out much, this house offers a very good place to vacay as weâre staying in.

Relaxing and fun
Our family had a wonderful time at this property. We enjoyed catching crabs on the pier and Gaynell was extremely helpful and informative about the catching process. The property has a beautiful view and you can even hear the lapping water in the master bedroom at night. Excellent communication with the owner and a very sweet family! The location and host were great. I gave it 4/5 because I feel the living room furniture. needs to be updated. The backs of the sofa and loveseat are peeling off. There are throws but they fall off and the black pleather gets in your hair and on your clothes.

Fabulous Fishing Camp
The property is in a very quite neighborhood.
House is directly on lake pontchartrain. The house is above ground so you will need to use stairs approx 10 steps. The house is very comfortable, everything was clean and neat. The air conditioning works great. The kitchen is stocked with appliances, dishwasher, microrwave, and papper towels, dish soap, and dish detergent. Outside has large covered deck which has ceiling fans and lights. Downstairs has BBQ grill, table and chairs. There is a large walk out dock which is lighted for night fishing and crabbing. Owner provided crab traps. The owners are wonderful people with great communication. We had to leave early due to hurricane Zetia. They called us and checked in on us. We will definitely be returning. Like all reviews you have to point out items that may need some attention. The masterbed was small maybe a full or small queen. Could use a mattress upgrade. My guy is 6'5 so it was small for him. The outside fishing dock spot light bulb was out, so I believe night fishing could improve.

Crabbing Camp
I cannot say how much fun we had at this property! Itâs exactly what I was looking for after our Orange Beach trip got cancelled due to Sally! I can honestly say, Iâve been to the beaches more times than I can count and I enjoyed this crabbing/fishing trip than most of them! It was four women and we were easily able to crab and fish from this pier! We practically lived on the pier!!! The camp did not disappoint and was exceptionally clean! Now, the best part of this review is about the property owner! She was sooooo amazing to talk to and work with. She was always available for any questions we may have had (even what to do when my cousin caught a stingray)!!! They had plenty of traps there to use for crabbing as well as a holding tank! I even went and bought a few of my own! But, the best part is they allowed us an extra night for free because they felt so bad about the weather, which wasnât that bad, just drizzly and no sun! Thanks again for such a wonderful weekend with my sister and our 2 cousins! I brought a lot of crabs back, being only 1 1/2 hours away and we had a fantastic crab boil in Baton Rouge!!!! Our neighbors were jealous!!!
