Nestled in the pines of Kaniatobe Trails is a hidden gem. On A Whim is a luxury log cabin situated on 1.4 acre wooded lot that has something for everyone:
• A fabulously appointed kitchen for the chef in your crew
• Relax in the living area enjoying the fantastic view of the great outdoors, watch a movie or snuggle up and get cozy in front of the stone fireplace featuring gas burning logs
• For the ultimate in relaxation, a wrap-around porch with spacious covered deck sporting a 7 person hot tub This great deck also features a gas grill, dining for 12 and plenty of space to sit back, relax read a book or just enjoy the outdoors
• A one-of-a-kind 400 sq. ft. detached game room for some friendly competition, whether it’s billiards, foosball, arcade basketball or HD Satellite TV. With this set up, the night owls have a place to enjoy that won’t keep the early birds awake!
• If you like outdoor fun, we have that too…large playset for the kiddos, horseshoes, bocce ball, and croquet for a sample.
• Wind down the evening gathered around the fire pit, star gazing, roasting marshmallows, and sharing stories of the day!
On A Whim, is a spacious 4 bedrooms, 3 full bath luxury appointed cabin that sleeps 12. The cabin features exceptional lighting with large windows and high ceilings. All rooms are stylishly appointed with luxury amenities. On A Whim has a fantastic set up with an open floor plan featuring the ultimate Great Room with living area, dining area with seating for 12, and state of the art kitchen with all stainless steel appliances, including an island with bar seating for three. Our single story log cabin is the ideal place to spend time with family and friends where everyone can be part of the action.
Located off the Great Room, you will find the master bedroom featuring a king size bed and private en-suite master bath with double vanity and walk in tile shower. On the opposite side of the Great Room is the 2nd and 3rd bedroom. One features a king size bed and the other a queen size bed, sharing a Jack-n-Jill bathroom with double vanity and walk-in tile shower.
The 4th bedroom features a queen size bed and queen sleeper sofa. This bedroom can also be used as a second living space. A third full bath, featuring a shower/tub combo is located off the main Great Room and easily accessible for all.
The living area also boasts a queen sleeper sofa. The living area and all bedrooms are equipped with HD Smart TVs and are connected to Dish Satellite TV and all have DVR functionality. The cabin is also equipped with high speed internet service. Laundry room is available and includes state of the art front loading washer & dryer.
On A Whim is located a short distance from Hochatown & Broken Bow restaurants, miniature golf, go carts, winery’s and the entrance to the Broken Bow Lake Marina. On A Whim has ample boat friendly parking space and plenty of parking for large family reunions, multiple family vacations or company retreats.
Cedar Creek Golf Course , Broken Bow State Park and Beaver’s Bend State Park are only a 5 minute drive where you can enjoy golfing, trout fishing, kayaking, hiking, swimming, and much, much more.

We had an amazing springbreak weekend at "on the whim cabin". It was 9 of us and had plenty of space for everyone. The cabin is at the end of the road so had more privacy than others near the area, so we really liked that. Everything was as described, plenty of appliances and utensils. The only issue was finding a knife that was actually sharp, only found ONE out of all the knives that could cut decently, but other than that everything else was great. Would definitely come back and stay again.

My family gets together once a year ! This was an excellent choice . The grandkids loved the hot tub, gameroom and fire pit . Every bed was very confortable. Kitchen had everything we needed . Plenty of room to sit around the big table for meals . This cabin definetly made this Christmas great. We made lots of good memories here .

This cabin is beautiful, comfortable, and truly does have everything you need besides your personal effects. I took all kinds of kitchen ware that was already there. There were plenty of towels and everything else. We enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit and game room. Everyone had plenty of room and enjoyed the stay so much. The management team is exceptional. We will definitely book again.

On a Whim was a very nice cabin with plenty of room. We couldn’t get 2 of the games in the game room to work (part of the reason we chose this cabin) but otherwise it was great. The star dock on location was because we had atvs turning around in our driveway a lot. The road to get to the cabin had horribly deep pot holes. I drive a low car and couldn’t pass over a couple of them. I drove through a few cabin driveways to miss the potholes when possible. There was also a big cabin nearby that played very loud music every night. We called their management company but that only helped for an hour or so. There is also quite a bit of road noise from the main highway.
BUT, the cabin itself was perfect for our family. Plenty of room, game room and outside stuff to do. We used the fire pit every night. I would stay again but would block our driveway with our cars next time so the atvs wouldn’t spew rocks at our cars.

Really enjoyed our stay. It was fantastic to have the game room garage out separate from the main house so that kids could sleep and adults could be loud at night. There was a brand new grill outback that we used for some really good steaks. Kitchen was very well appointed With utensils and tools. The playground was lots of fun for the kids and the fire pit was already set up with wood ready to go. The location of this place is at the end of the road so you feel secluded and like you’re out in the middle of the woods. Certainly a good spot for families to get away. Would recommend

Hubby and I brought our DIL, grandkids and 2 of their friends. Total of 9 of us. This was the 3rd time for most us at the cabin. We spent time at the lake, bowled, enjoyed the game room, cooked and just enjoyed time away. .

The cabin was one of the best we have ever stayed in. Very clean, everything was in working order. The whole family enjoyed it. The roads leading to the cabin was horrible. There is no reason to let it get that bad.

On a positive note, the pots and pans and small appliances were plentiful, the patio and hot tub were amazing. The roads were terrible but that was in previous reviews so we weren’t surprised. There were items from previous guests under and behind the couches. The biggest issue was the a/c, the temps were in the 90s, upon check in the notes for leaving stated to turn it back up to 70, on day 2, it was at 75 ( we arrived late the night before) we continued to turn down the air but the house did not get cooler, the next morning, I messaged to see if there is a lock on the temp and the owner stated there was not. We finally realized the air was programmed at 75 from 7am to 10pm and it was overriding us turning it down, we have an infant who goes to sleep very early and we had 2 fans on her to sleep. We cleared the programming and it was cool the rest of the stay. I assumed it was the cleaning company or something and really didn’t get upset because I figured it was empty or was an oversight until we were leaving and I was checking the program to make sure the air was programmed at 70 as requested for the following days and realized there was no schedule for the days after we departed and it was only programmed for the days of our stay. We stayed 4 nights and were hot for almost 2 days because it took so long to cool off due to outside temps being so high. The knobs to switch the duel shower heads are broken in both bathrooms. Overall we had a great relaxing time

“On a Whim” was our perfect meeting spot with family. We went to Broken Bow with our adult children, and our grandchildren. I was looking for a single story home as we have two toddlers (outside deck/wrap around porch does have large steps though).”On a Whim” was our perfect get away home! The separate bedrooms and bathrooms worked great. The kitchen was stocked with all the pots and pans you need, plus even a crock pot and griddle.
Playground in backyard was a hit with the kids, and the game room was a hit with everyone. Adult outdoor games were used with fun too. We loved the secluded area with wooded areas surrounding the home, and the jacuzzi and outdoor firepit were the perfect way to end each day.
What we did in town; Golf, shopping, train ride, pony rides, dinner.
“On a Whim” was a perfect place for our family to come together and relax. Thank you for sharing it with us.

This was almost the perfect place for our family trip. The game room was a big hit. When the young kids and us old folks turned in for the night the game room was the perfect place for everyone else to gather. Plenty of room for our nine adults and two small children. Great location to get to everything we wanted to do. The place itself is perfect. Getting to it requires a great deal of patience due to the poor roads that have huge potholes. We will keep this place in mind for future visits.

The roads in the community were worse than we experienced in East Africa!!! The pot holes were horrible.
The fireplace did not work and that was a disappointment.
Even with these problems, we would rent the cabin again. There were 8 of us (ages 20-74) with 2 dogs.

We had an amazing time!!
The cabin was very clean. It was equipped with EVERYTHING we needed; towels, extra blankets, kitchen gadgets, and small appliances. The fire pit was great for our evening S’mores! Oh, we loved the Weber gas grill. We had so much fun in the game room. Our property manager Christy was very friendly EVERY time I called and responded to all my emails quickly! Looking forward to going again.
