Great stay

This is a GREAT house. We loved it, and I highly recommend it.
But we had some stressful issues getting access! The house is in a gated community. We were given a key-code to punch in on the gate, but it had no effect. With no 4G signal, and phone not working, we were unable to contact the agent. Turns out we needed a physical remote (code access has been discontinued). So we sat on road for around 10-15 minutes until a friendly resident let us in, (the intercom to the gate help-desk went unanswered).
The relief was short-lived. The house has its own electronic gate, for which we had no code! So again we sat - stuck. Eventually the 4G signal returned and in popped messages sent earlier that day... including the missing code (why leave the so late?). We were in! But it made for a stressful start.
In the house were the remotes to open the gates, so coming/going during the week was a breeze. But - how to leave at the end? You need the fob to get out... but also need to leave it in the house (obviously!).
There were a few other 'odd' things, we thought.
No info in the house at all. Zero. Where do we take the rubbish etc?
A non-induction saucepan that is useless on the induction hob!
Two delightful cleaning ladies who arrived unannounced, and proceeded to empty the dishwasher that was about to be put on and washed it all by hand. Ugh? They visited on 2 of our 7 days.
But, again, this is a gorgeous property and (assuming you can get in!) you'll love it! We did.

I love this house. The pool and pool deck are so spacious and comfortable. The villa that houses the kitchen and living area is really an extension of the pool deck which makes you feel like you are always outside. My heaven! Having a separate villa with the bedrooms is a great design for families where some wake up early and some late. Minor critique: The beds are a little quirky and hard to get in and out of because of a wide framing. The lighting in the bedroom could be brighter also. But that’s okay - it’s island living so who cares what we look like in the mirror. 😀

This property was great for multiple adults as each room had its own bathroom. Staff was lovely. Location was ideal for visiting Marigot as well as the Dutch side. We would definitely come again.

Azul is a beautiful villa, and was great for 4 adults. Lots of deck space, very well appointed kitchen, beds were very comfy. Bathrooms spacious. Master has an awesome shower. Very clean. Property is well landscaped and cared for. The area is gated as well as the villa, so you always feel safe
The only area that could be improved upon is the outdoor covered area. This is the only covered area to get out of the sun. It is most uncomfortable as the cushions are very thin and the benches very hard. Comfy cushions would make it a great place to get out of the sun.
The second master is upstairs and is beautiful, but the bathroom is down a winding staircase. Might be hard at night.
As everywhere in St Martin the mosquitos are a problem. The villa has a mosquito repellent system and it helps but at dawn and dusk, they are buggy. They do provide great organic mosquito repellant .
It was a great week and we would return.

Terres Basses is the best neighborhood on the island for security, privacy, and location to restaurants. We loved it and hope to return. The tennis court has lights and a beautiful skyline view. Perfect for tennis any time of the day. The pool is large and beautiful with plenty of lounging either in shade or sun. The rooms are separate enough to provide privacy within the villa. Splendid vacation!

On July 28, 2022, my family and I checked into your property in Les Terres Basses, Saint Martin (316 Azur) for 7 days, ending on August 3, 2022. Within the first hour of check-in, there were a number of issues my family and I experienced.
Problems will come up, and when they do, I expect the owner and/or management company to take care of them. This was a major inconvenience for my family and me. I contacted the owner, Valerie via email on July 29th withing several hours of checking in with my concerns. In the email I outlined a few things of notice.
The accommodations were unsatisfactory for the following reasons:
• The gate to the entrance of the property did not lock which created a security concern for me.
• 2 of the 5 televisions were not operable at the time.
• Outlets – there was no communication upfront about the outlets. We had to go out and purchase adapters in order to charge our electronic devices.
• The concierge was not knowledgeable about the property and could not answer most of my questions. She stated that she would contact the owner and get back with me. Well that never happened.
• There were no bicycles at the house as advertised.
• There were no instructions on how to operate the property.
• There was no working iron on the property.
• The pool was dirty.
The Host responded to my first email and advised me that Ricardo and Giovanni, the managers of the villa would be contacting me soon to resolve all of your issues and to please keep her informed. The villa managers arrived at the property within the hour but was not able to resolve all of my issues.

Amazing Stay
We had an amazing trip from the moment we arrived. Ricardo and his staff were very helpful throughout our stay. If we had any questions at all they were answered and addressed as soon as possible. I would definitely recommend to groups of friends or family’s looking for a place to enjoy. We hope to stay again in the future.

Beautiful spot
The home is beautiful and much as it is represented on VRBO. We had a few small issues that were resolved by the property manager. Make sure to bring your own outlet adapters.

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Azul. The home was clean and the hosts were really responsive. The home was perfect for our group who wanted to stay close to the Dutch side of St. Martin.

Pleasant Stay
We had a pleasant and enjoyable stay. The pool, garden and tennis court were perfect for a quiet private and safe vacation. Our cute neighbors ( 2 cats) paid us visits throughout the day. Sunsets were amazing from the pool area. It’s a nice size property compared to other villas in the island. The two beach were empty. It’s a good walk for some exercise from the villa to beaches (approximately 2 miles). Supermarkets and restaurants are few minutes away so it’s convenient. The island is tiny and it’s very easy to go around. Watch out for those speed bumps.
Mosquitoes are pretty aggressive so make sure to apply repellants.
Power outage is common in the island,
we experienced it only once for a few hours. We didn’t mind it at all. It’s nice to disconnect from the world.
Two things I wanted to be better; First, the kitchen small appliances, pans and utensil need to be replaced as they are showing some wear and tear. Second is the main house bathroom, it’s tiny. We felt cramped whenever using it. Towels need to be replaced. The bedroom from the main house is on the second floor and bathroom is on the first.
The owner of the property was responsive to our questions and requests which was impressive. Giovanni was helpful in making sure we make the most of our stay in Saint Martin.
Overall, it was a great stay. Thank you Valerie, Giovanni and our housekeepers. We enjoyed our stay and look forward for a future visit.

Wonderful getaway
Location was fantastic, close to everything but definitely need a rental car. The property manager Giovanni was awesome with helping arrange day trips on charter boats and great tips on other activities and restaurants. The dryer doesn’t work so make sure you’re hanging towels out to dry in a covered place since it rains a little each night

Great experience
This trip was amazing!!! The check in process was awesome. Giovanni made sure we had everything and the coordination with Ricardo and Lyzette made this trip so easy. They helped coordinate car rental, massages, chef and food delivery. The facility is world class!!

Better than the pictures
This is an amazing property and it is even better than the pictures. Wonderful location, private and very comfortable. We enjoyed our time there although did not end up using the tennis court. There were mosquitos, but we were prepared with spray and typically the mosquitos are active between 6-9... otherwise no issues. The check in was smooth and the host had even purchased some essentials and stocked the fridge. That was a very nice surprise. We did not have any major issues during our stay but whenever we reached out for questions or minor issues, someone was always available to address immediately. Would definitely be at the top of our list next time we visit the island.

REALLY GREAT HOUSE!
The house is exactly as it is depicted in the photographs--stunningly beautiful, a good view and very clean. Pool and hot tub are great. I spent 10 days with my wife, children, sister, and parents in February of 2020. I love the location--great grocery store Carrefour is 5 minutes way at Cupecoy. We got an ice-cream at a French cafe there, and there are several restaurants (Thai, Pizza, Italian).
There are several beaches very close by that are great--Plum Bay, Bay Longue, and the (unmarked--get good directions) Bay Rouge. (Be sure to check out the natural rock formation just past the eastern shore of Bay Rouge). These are not commercial or crowded beaches which to me is great. Bring snacks, chairs, and umbrellas. Walking to the Bay Longue is not 8 minutes, but more like 20, and a very hot walk. I recommend driving there in 5 minutes instead.
If you have small kids, or want a beach which is always calm, Friar's Bay is a must. It is a quick 25 minutes away. You can avoid most the Marigot traffic by staying close to the Bay.
The main house is completely open unless you lower the electronic metal gates.
We lunched at the beach cafe at La Samanna. Ricardo the Property Manager will gladly assist with reservations. The ambience can not be beat, but the food was only mediocre.
The master bedroom is fantastic. and it is the only room with screens that provide cross-ventilation so you can open the windows and turn off the AC. None of the other three rooms have screens on the doors so you have to keep the AC on or suffer stuffy heat, or open the doors and suffer mosquitoes. (I realize this is not a problem for most people--but to me, it is a huge waste-- I am not a huge fan of air conditioning, especially in the evenings, when the temperature cools down, and there is generally a nice breeze.
The upstairs bedroom's bathroom is downstairs on the main floor--a minor inconvenience.
The Villa does not recycle which to me is unfortunate, since recycling does seem to exist on the island.
I recommend cool clothes to cover up with and be prepared to apply bug spray a couple times a day. (I recommend Picaridin.) Several locals confirmed that the mosquito situation is worse now than in previous years. But it was not so bad as to it interfere with our overall enjoyment..
The safe does not fit a laptop, but we did not sense that they were at risk.
Our main cleaner Tasha was great, as was Angel.
Overall highly recommended!

Perfect Stay
This villa is absolutely amazing! It's the most incredible rental I've ever stayed in. It has a pool, jacuzzi, tennis court, open kitchen, bar area, lounge areas and comfortable bedrooms. It really had all of the comforts of home, all the way in St. Martin! It's also in a perfect location that's close to the airport and also conveniently located to other spots on the island like Grand Case and Marigot. We spent time at the 5-star hotel around the corner, la Samanna, and enjoyed the incredible beach. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to a group of friends or family. I can't wait to return!

Amazing property!
Just like the photos, this villa did not disappoint. The decks, pool, hot tub, ping pong table, tennis court, grill - all worked perfectly. Very nice kitchen, well supplied. Air conditioning in bedrooms was cold and a welcome relief from the heat. Ricardo was always a just a phone call away for anything we needed. Close to a grocery store. Overall a great vacation house for our family, 5 adults and 3 older kids.

Beautiful place
Our family had a wonderful time. Everything was very comfortable. Very spacious. We had a few issues with the pool and one of the toilets. But once we informed Ricardo he was on it right away and in a very short time they were remedied. Ricardo was very helpful in planning some beach days and getting lobsters for a great meal. We definitely would recommend this place. It was beautiful and lots of fun things to do right on the property. Only thing I would say is that all the rooms have a television yet in the bedrooms they are not usable. Which would have been nice.
Love the place.

A Little Bit of Paradise
Beautiful Villa nestled in a secure gated community. Very peaceful and calm. Beautiful scenery and comfortable accommodation. Wonderful local beach with hardly anyone on it which made it very special. We had a lovely family celebratory 3 birthdays holiday.

Lovely long weekend.
The property is fantastic and very secure. Loved the views, the space, the pool. Great beds, towels, comfy furniture. The WiFi only started working a couple days into the trip which was a bit of a problem for us. Overall the house is was lovely and comfortable.

Nice, But Need Attention
This place is very nice, however it could be fantastic with just a little love and care. Here is the list;
SUPPRISE!!!!
The main house is not air conditioned, which we never used.
There is no TV working, not in bedrooms either.
There were no converters.
There is one bedroom upstairs in the main house, that uses the one bathroom down stairs, kind of weird.
3 other rooms are detached from main house The master is nice. No TV. The bathroom has no counter space and the lights are horrible.
It took 30 minutes to figure how the shower worked.
The other 2 rooms are below and just OK
They have a table tennis with n o balls.
Pool area is great !!! could have more noodles.1 is not enough.
I will go back, as I know they will make these changes and it will be fantastic.

Awesome property!
This Villa is in a lovely secluded area very near a beautiful beach. The property itself is beautifully kept. The pictures and description in the listing are accurate.
Geraldine met us when we arrived to show us all the amenities and answer any questions. We had a fabulous time staying here. We would go back in a heartbeat and stay here again for another vacation!

It was not what we expected
From the moment we arrived, it was not what we expected. The coordination of our arrival was horrible, and we had to wait almost an hour for someone to let us into the house (after travelling a long way to get there). Once we got inside, we were a bit disappointed with what was there. The house was tired, and the accommodations spartan. Who rents a house like this and has to buy their own toilet paper and paper towels?! Electronics didn't work in the bedrooms, and the BBQ had a bird's nest in it so we couldn't BBQ. There were only two knives in the kitchen, one of which had a broken tip and chunks missing, and neither able to cut bread. What fully stocked kitchen doesn't have a serrated knife? Only one dish towel was provided. We had a family of five, and wanted to use the kitchen. Shouldn't there be more dish towels? The pool was almost green when we got there, and I was required to manually control the pool filter daily to try to get the water clear. I do that on my own pool at home. I don't want to have to do it on vacation. The showers were moldy, and on the master shower, we were told that we couldn't use it on full strength because the water would drip down into the bedroom below, short-circuiting the electrical system. How about fixing the waterproofing in the shower so that it can be used as intended? Those sound like small things, but they are emblematic of what we experienced. For the amount we paid, I expected a lot more.

The Villa Azur was fabulous, well kept, spacious and private!
The Villa Azur was an gated property, has a great spacious layout. Especially enjoyed the sit in pool and the tennis court. You would be hard pressed to find a better villa rental at such a reasonable cost.

Fantastic!
Just as previous reviews state, the property is absolutely just like the pictures. Perfect in so many ways. Although, it's tucked away from the busy areas, it's so close and convenient to the beach, many restaurants and both the French and Dutch sides. The pool was fantastic for our three children as a nice break from the beach. All in all- I'd recommend this place for any family or large group of couples. Plenty of privacy and space for everyone to enjoy!
Best part is you have Geraldine very nearby if you need absolutely anything. She was very helpful in getting us settled on day one! The properly is very close to La Samanna resort, which is fantastic for a quick evening dinner (which my wife and I did) or probably even better for a evening cocktail at sunset. I would highly recommend this property to anyone! I wish I was back there now!!

A beautiful home in St. Martin
5 of us recently spent a week at Villa Terres Basses. The house and the grounds are very nice. We had plenty of room the house is very comfortable. The only TV in the house with cable was in the living room. It was advertised that every bedroom had this......but that was not the case. The worst part of our week was the mosquitos. They were really bad. Whenever you were in the kitchen, livingroom, or outdoor table for dinner you were under attack . Their system for the mosquitos was up and running but didn't seem to help. We also brought our own repellant but were constantly bothered by them. Not sure if it was the time of year or maybe because of the rain.
5.0 / 5.0
I would like to start off by saying Geraldine is a magnificent person. All of us, including my grandmother have her forever in our hearts. The love and gratitude that we expressed is simply not enough for all she has done for us. There was an accident that occurred on the premises and she was more than willing to help us out with what happened. She went out of her way to accommodate us and make sure we enjoyed our stay.
We traveled to St. Maarten for my grandmother's birthday and upon arrival, she was greeted with a happy birthday sign, a bottle of champagne, and flowers (all thanks to Geraldine of course).
The property is located in a gated community and is as private as it gets. The pictures speak for themselves, it is truly a beautiful villa. The pool is big and it starts about waist deep and continues until about 8-9 ft deep. The pool is equipped with a security alarm in case anyone falls inside (it can be heard throughout the villa). At night, the villa is well lit. The pool changes colors, the outside area is filled with lights, the tennis court lights up, and also the plants on the way to the tennis court light up. The interior of the house is very spacious and well kept. The rooms were nice, even though we weren't able to use all of them because of the circumstances that occurred on the first day. The stereo system inside the house was awesome too, as we were able to hear music while hanging out outside. The jacuzzi was very nice at night when it got a little chilly. The ping pong table was also a plus, because it kept us entertained on those days that we didn't visit any beaches. The only downfall with this villa, were the mosquitoes. Even though they were a hassle, we were able to limit them because we brought a bug zapper from home. I highly recommend investing in one of these because you will be amazed on the amount of bugs it killed in 1 day.
Overall, this is an amazing villa to stay at and Geraldine did her best to accommodate us and make us feel at home. She absolutely took care of us from the time we arrived, to the time we departed. We left the happy birthday banner that she had put up, and we asked her if she still had it and she did, so she offered to bring it to our hotel.
Keep up the great hospitality Geraldine, you are truly a great person!!
5.0 / 5.0
I'll start by saying that Geraldine went above and beyond to make sure that our group was taken care of. Upon our arrival we got lost within Terres Basses (really lost) and I'm not exactly sure how but she was able to find us within the complex and lead us to Villa Azur. When we finally made our way into the Villa, she had the home beautifully decorated for my wife's birthday. She was readily available for questions either via phone or email throughout our stay.
Villa Azur is in a private, exclusive location on the French side of the island. The ambiance is breathtaking both during the day and in the evening. All modern furnishings and appliances working in perfect order. They have power outlet adapters in every room. A state of the art mosquito spraying system throughout the property keeps the bugs at a minimum. Unfortunately, we did not have time to play on the tennis court but it was perfectly maintained. You are a quick drive away from several beaches, a grocery store and dining. The only brief discomfort was returning on Saturday from a long boating excursion to find that we had lost power. Luckily, Geraldine had warned us that this could happen (typical of small islands) and she had shown us during the walk-through how to release the property's gate and manually open it. Thankfully the loss of electricity was short lived and we got power back no more than an hour later.
We cannot wait to return next year!! Our entire group had an excellent experience.
5.0 / 5.0
From start to finish this house was everything you could ever want. Everyone was extremely nice, helpful, and responsive. Geraldine is wonderful a delight to have around. Oh, and this house, let's just say it is the PERFECT paradise in an beautiful community on the French side in st. Maarten with its own private beach, etc etc etc. Will be coming here again without a single doubt!!!
5.0 / 5.0
This villla is fabulous and was perfect for us in every way!! The owner and caretaker were wonderful and extremely responsive. The home is beautifully designed an decorated with all amenities you could possibly want or need. The retractable walls in the main living area and kitchen made the entire home feel like you were living outside. It was our first time staying on the French side of the island and we would definitely stay here again!
