The home was very nice and cozy. It was clean and everything was put together and in order for the stay.
4.4
The house was roomy and comfortable for 19 people. The kitchen is well stocked and combined with the dining area was a great big space for everyone to eat all together. We were all able to hang out in the main room without ever feeling crowded. The outdoor space with the hot tub and multiple seating areas is great. We also enjoyed using the fire pit. Overall a great stay.
4.4
We had 20 family members coming from 6 states to spend the weekend together. The Grand Log Home fit us well with room to play games, visit and sit down to eat meals together. The house would be even better with a few updates and repairs (needs some TLC) to make the stay a five star. The large living room was perfect for our family worship on Sunday morning, something we will always remember. If you are looking for a house for a large family definitely consider this place.
4.4
Family loved the Grand Log Home. Hot tub needs attention but everything else was very nice.
4.4
Cleanliness was a problem. Property had damages. Poor instructions on working the different equipment.
4.4
This location was awesome. My wife was extremely happy all 17 people in our family was able to stay comfortably.
4.4
Great property in a great location. Excellent for a large family get together.
4.4
A really great place for everyone to gather. Beds and bathrooms were awesome--2 washer/dryers. Hot Tub, fire table and pool table were a hit! Kitchen could be better stocked to feed a group. More information about the area from the host would have helped us plan our stay better. Much fun was had by all three generations.
4.4
The owner was polite and quick to respond to questions. As for the property, there were not any major problems but a lot of little issues that added up.
-Maintenance - the back of the couch was broken (you can see this in the listing pics). Unfortunately this is the first thing we saw every time we entered the front door which obviously leaves a bad impression. Also; broken lightbulb in the living room chandelier (also can see in the listing pics), burnt out lightbulb in the kitchen; outlet in living room was not secured; area rug in the main floor bedroom is not laying flat and is a trip hazard; kitchen backsplash grout is missing; cue sticks for billiard table are missing tips; mold in one of the basement bedrooms
- Cleanliness - there was a garbage bag left in the garage that stunk to high heaven (we took it to the dumpster); there was an extra coffee pot in a cabinet which had dried up coffee grounds and filter inside; dust and cobwebs on walls and ceiling; there were dead bugs in the kitchen light fixtures; windows were filthy; back yard/patio had cans and bottles on the ground; there was garbage in the fire pit/sole stove; shower heads were crusty; sliding glass door track was filthy which makes it nearly impossible to open/close
- General - the place needs refreshed; the wood putty repairs look awful; flooring on the main floor looks cheap; A/C unit in the 2nd floor small bedroom is just weird

Beautiful home - SUPER responsive host when we needed additional information, etc. Highly recommend.

We recently spent a week with family at Grand Pine Lodge. The location is beautiful, but the house is not maintained. We chose the home based to house our extended family because it was advertised as sleeping up to 20 with 5000 sq ft, 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The photos online are lovely, but the owners do not release the floor plan until the day of check in. That is when we discovered that the main floor bedroom opens directly to the garage. The second upstairs bedroom is clearly the former walk-in closet. The downstairs is laid out like a frat house. As for the bathrooms, there are only 3 full baths instead of 5. To validate our concerns, it is worth noting that both Zillow and Redfin list the property as 3 bedroom and roughly 4000 sq feet.
Other lowlights:
* Only 5 mismatched plates provided, so we had to resort to paper plates and plasticware
* Upstairs shower leaked when used more than twice in a row
* Rugs and floors filthy. Children's clothes and socks were black after playing on the rug
* The vacuum found in the closet was so disgusting that it spewed more filth when we tried to clean ourselves.
* The minimal sheets provided were not even the size
* No propane provided for the grill and firepit
* Hot tub filled with leaves and unusable
* Random items (including a vape) left out were children could have accessed them.
* The dishwasher did not fully function
Overall, the rate is too expensive for the deceptive portrayal and poor maintenance here.

Spent the weekend with family and friends celebrating my daughter’s 20th birthday. The house was truly amazing. The host was in touch with us from the time we booked until our trip was over for anything. Truly a wonderful weekend.
4.4
We had the best time at this house! Plenty of room to spread out and big enough gathering areas for all of the family to reconnect. Hot tub was amazing. Beds were comfortable. Would definitely love to stay again.
4.4
We had the best time at this home. It was close to everything and I can’t say enough about the responsiveness of the owners!!! There are always small things that can come up with any home, but as soon as we reached out, they were able to assist us immediately and had someone come out and all was fixed!! All the questions I had were responded quickly prior to arrival which helped with planning. Lots and lots of space and several of the people enjoyed the hot tub each day!! I also loved the convenience of delivery places that made it easy to not have to plan every meal. We enjoyed games and doing puzzles on the tables and hope to visit again. Highly recommend this property!!!
4.4
Very nice place, very comfortable and spacious. Tons of room for people and laid out nicely. It could use some home improvements for sure but I would absolutely stay there again. The private chef was also a great idea for a night
4.4
Location was perfect for us and the house was spacious. Enjoyed the living space with the fireplace and the downstairs game room was a big hit. Night deck views of the slopes lit up was a pleasant surprise. Great for large groups.
4.4
Fun family time.
4.4
My siblings and I with our families booked this house to get together and spend time with our 88 year old mother. We had a great time and had plenty of space. I loved that the dining table has seating for 14 people and it was nice for all of us to be able to have sit down meals together throughout our trip. The house had a Christmas tree up and decorated for the holidays, it was a nice touch. Our family enjoyed the house and will definitely rent this house again!
4.4
We had a large group for a Friendsgiving celebration and this house was perfect! Large kitchen with two ovens, lots of lounging space. Wonderful place - highly recommend!!
4.4
First of all when we arrived the property was not cleaned and we were welcomed with wet towels. Pics shown in listing is really deceiving , bathrooms are in horrible state. One of the worst property we ever rented.

Four family get together. The cabin was exactly as advertised. Great cabin, in a gorgeous setting. And the resort amenities were perfect for small children. Short drive to Skyline.
4.4
We had a group of 10 guys come into the area to fly fish. The house slept us all comfortably and we enjoyed the house. The house was in a nice location and very quiet and peaceful. We all had a great time, thank you.
4.4
Loved the layout of the house, worked well for our mixed group of couples and singles. Having access to the garage was a plus as we were able to get all 10 motorcycles inside and out of the storms.
AC was spotty as some rooms did not have AC.
Lower levels hot water was very hit or miss in the showers. Unfortunately the hot tub was not usable due to lack of cleaning, brown ring around the tub and floating brown foam.
4.4
House is great for our large group of 16. 7 adults and 9 kids ages 2-12 yrs. Few maintenance problems but they fixed immediately! Impressive. No yard for kids to play outside. Very wooded and hilly. But kids played inside. Kitchen great and long table great. Cleaning so so. Food stuck on stovetop and towels pulled up on washer wet. That needs improvement. Odd layout of bedrooms but it still worked.
4.4
Great stay
Wonderful house for a cousin reunion. Well stocked and lots of space, bedrooms and bathrooms. Particularly loved the large deck and multiple seating areas.
4.4
Nice house in a beautiful setting
House worked for our large group other than the upstairs bedroom(s) situation. Owners converted attic space into a bedroom that is off upstairs bedroom. It does not have a separate entrance or a closet which are definition of a bedroom. That said it was set up nicely with ple space.
4.4
Ok

Family Getaway
The cabin was great for the few days we were there! Little things here and there could be fixed up. Maybe advertise about the movie screen below the deck! We had no idea about that! Would be a cool feature to mention!

This was my first experience with VRBO, but our family has rented numerous homes in different locations for an annual family reunion for years. The house was clean enough, but not spotless. (One fridge still needed some cleaning and there were some dust bunnies under beds - but nothing major.) Dishwashing products and spices were a welcome addition to the kitchen, and basic cooking supplies were there, but disorganized at points. A major complaint would be the lack of consistent hot water for the main floor and basement bathrooms. The open staircases are attractive, but I would not recommend them for families with younger kids. (My engineer husband couldn't believe they were up to code.) Upstairs bedrooms are a little awkward in that you have to walk through one to get to another, and the bathroom there has weird steps up to it and in the middle of it as well. We tried several times to start the gas fireplace in the living room but had no success. The garage, exterior, and yard also needed some attention/tidying. (Boards and an old rug piled in the garage, gutters were clogged, a dirty diaper decorated the yard. Ugh.) Despite all of this, beds were comfy, living room had cozy couches, and deck area was well-appointed and lovely. We were regularly visited by chipmunks and deer, and the mountain views were charming. Massanutten offers a wide variety of programs that suited the various interests of our group, although some a la carte offerings were a little pricey. The resort seems well managed, and their staff members were, to a person, polite and helpful. My biggest complaint would be the lack of communication about and on check-in day. I knew that we would be able to get into the house at 4:00, but it would have been VERY helpful if we had known that we wouldn't receive the door code and instructions until 3:00 that day. When we still hadn't received info by 1:00 (and our family members were en route), I tried without success to reach the hosts. I then contacted a VRBO rep who was reassuring. I did receive an email shortly thereafter from the hosts. Perhaps this last- minute info is standard procedure, but it was a bit nerve wracking as the trip organizer and first-time VRBO user. The hosts did check in after we arrived and were helpful with Wi-Fi access when we asked. I would suggest that hosts make some house and resort info available on site - a map, list of local restaurants and markets, how to start the fireplace, etc.

It was a great place !! Had a few things that could have been better but lot was no fault of owners.
Was no problem renting, owners will do what they can do to accommodate. They answered all my questions.

My family and my husbands family stayed here together. We loved all the amenities the resort offered. Plus all the attractions that were close by. The house had enough dishes to feed a group of 14. Would recommend this house to any large group.

Outstanding great room with 20-foot stone face fireplace, huge deck with hot tub, right in the woods (lots of wildlife: we saw birds, chipmunks, deer in the yard). Calm.

Very nice space. There were some extras that really showed thought & care: beautiful shower, double sinks with lots of storage in master bath; very comfortable beds with extra pillows & plenty of blankets; 2nd refrigerator in garage; plenty of kitchen utensils, dishes, etc; hot tub; just to name some.
On the down side, several kitchen outlets were inoperative, there were several missing lightbulbs throughout the house. One bedroom, which was accessed by walking through the master bedroom, had no dresser, no closet and was very cold.
In summary, it’s a beautiful house that just needs a little attention.
4.4
This cabin was a wonderful location for my family to gather. The house was sprawling and plenty big enough to spread out or come together. The amenities were wonderful as well - hot tub, fire pit, games.
