Lovely place, pictures don’t do it justice! The kitchen is great and has everything you need. Everything was very clean and the beds are comfortable. On the very few instances there was a problem Judy responded immediately to help. One thing to keep in mind is on the windward side everyone leaves their windows open so sound travels. I have 2 young, loud boys so this was a little uncomfortable for me, I hope we didn’t disturb her too much. We’ve rented other houses nearby with the concrete fence between the neighbors that may have been better than an Ohana/guest house in my particular case while the kids are young, so that’s just something to keep in mind. Overall everything was great!

Judy is easy to join anytime.
Best stocked apt we rented with VRBO ever
Street is a bit noisy and unfortunately a new neighbor was practicing his musical instrument too much

The vacation rental was fantastic for us. A short walk to Kailua beach, easy access to both central Kailua and Honolulu, and comfortable furniture. We had a wonderful time, and it was a lot of fun chatting with Judy.

We just spent an exceptional month at Judy’s beach house and it is a real pleasure to write our impressions.
Judy’s beach house is in a wonderful location; indeed at a short walking distance from a beautiful long sandy Kailua beach. Judy has thought of every detail that makes one’s stay comfortable and enjoyable. The decoration is tasteful and blends well with the Hawaiian spirit: the living space is well thought of, the bedrooms and bedding are very comfortable, the kitchen is extremely well equipped and made it possible to prepare family meals at home. Everything was generously provided, from bathroom towels, to paper towels, many condiments, water filter, so many small details that you rarely find in rentals anywhere! Judy provided beach chairs, snorkeling masks, umbrellas. Without these we would not have been able to enjoy the beach as we did. Also Judy kindly made available to us a lot of useful visitor documentation and information on Oahu and Kailua.
Most importantly, Judy is an amazing host: her welcoming was heartwarming, after travelling for many many hours it was a blessing to land at her beach house. Judy puts a lot of love and attention in her place, not only is it beautiful, but is clean, and well-kept and maintained. She is a very responsive and helpful host with plenty of great ideas and advice, and she is fun to chat with.
Our stay at Judy’s is to be remembered and we would love to have the chance to come back!

Oh wow! I don't know how to review our stay at this wonderful place that would do it justice. Our experience was nothing short of perfect. My wife and I stayed 30 days while I was on business in Hawaii. The owner, Judy, was a wonderful host and the high standards she sets for her property and guests cannot be overstated. The property was exactly or even better than described. The beach is so close and easy to get to. The property has so many amenities for guest to use and enjoy such as beach umbrella, beach chairs, boogie boards, coolers etc. The property itself is immaculately maintained with every possible thing one would find in their own home. The kitchen had every utensil you could possible want and a BBQ grill outside that is great for grilling. The location is excellent as it is in the small community of Kailua where one can find nice restaurants and an abundance of grocery stores, small eateries without the commercialization found in Waikiki. The drive to the airport is 20 minutes and for most of the drive avoids the usual traffic which can be significant as you go to Honolulu. There is no chance we would travel again to Hawaii without trying to book this property in the future. Judy is great, the property is fantastic, the town is nice, the beach is awesome - for us there was no disappointment of any kind.
Lastly, Judy maintains this property to a very high standard. To any guest thinking of booking here, please show the respect and care for it as if it was your own home. Its not a hotel and she will make you feel like you are welcome family.

Stay in paradise with a short walk to the beach
Our stay in Kailua was fantastic. We stayed over a month in mid-August through mid-September and it was a perfect location. The host, Judy, was incredibly helpful. It was our first time to Hawaii, and she was very friendly and eager to give any advice we asked for. She communicated everything clearly in advance which eased any nerves we had about staying for that long in a place we hadn't been previously.
The property itself was very clean and modern, with traditional Hawaiian furniture in the main living space. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen got a lot of use and had everything that we needed.
The location of the property was very close to the beach, and a short walk to Kailua town. It's also close to both the H3 and the Pali Highways which make it a quick drive to get across the island to Honolulu. The neighborhood was very safe, and a perfect place to take daily walks. We did quite a bit of hiking in the area and the location placed us close to many beautiful hikes.
We'll rave about this stay for the rest of our lives and would completely recommend staying at Judy's to anyone. We hope to be back.

Judy's place
We stayed for 30 days and Judy was extremely accommodating and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. Location is perfect, one block from Kailua Beach. Close enough to walk a surfboard to the beach. Shopping center with restaurants and grocery just a short walk away.
A nice yards for the kids.
Overall a great experience and place. Highly recommended.

Judy’s place was the best. Had a lovely stay and would definitely go back. She is incredibly gracious and I consider her my new Aunt.

Fantastic place to stay, so much room to move!
We loved our stay here. Family of 4 and we mostly lived upstairs thanks to the extra mattresses. Judy was there when we arrived and we were shown how everything works. Judy had thought of all the little things and our stay was very comfortable. The beach was walking disantance which was great for walks in the evening with the kids. Mahalo Judy for our stay, it went too quickly!!

Judy and her family was great!!
Thank you, Judy for a most wonderful, relaxing stay at your rental. It was quiet and clean. We appreciated the relaxing environment and the unit was so comfortable. We will definitely stay again and recommend this to anyone! Thank you, again.

Perfect
Couldn't ask for anything more. Everything was perfect. The place was as good as I expected (given all the positive reviews). Nice short walk to a quiet beach, very clean, excellent host... Highly recommend to anyone wanting to spend some quality and peaceful time in Hawaii. My visit was wife/husband + three mature kids (19, 17, 15). Cable/dish channels were extensive (Worldcup 2018 now) and WiFi was excellent--a nice bonus to Hawaiian vacation.

Slice of Aloha
We felt at home the moment we arrived at Judy's beach house. The property is roomy, bright, clean and private. My teenage son loved having his own large room downstairs, complete with big screen TV. The master bedroom upstairs was quite spacious and comfortable, with a huge walk-in closet. The bathroom was clean and well appointed with plenty of towels. The living area was large and quite comfy. Judy has everything you need to enjoy your stay, The walk to the beach is quick and easy. We would definitely stay again if we return to Kailua.

Judy Dancer's home is lovely....VRBO STINKS!!!
Judy's home is all that it is advertised to be. I recommend it. But don't do business with VRBO. I believe they exaggerate the urgency of "booking now". We booked in January for a stay April 1-4. On January 4, VRBO hit my account for the full expense ($1408.20) including the security deposit. So my money was in their hands for 3 full months before our stay at Judy's home. Today is 4-12-18 and the security deposit was returned today. They had that money for more than 13 weeks. Judy did not get paid until after we left.
Oahu is lovely; the Pearl Harbor tour is worth the trip alone. But find some other way than using VRBO or any of their affiliates to book a place to stay.

Clean, tidy, light and airy space
This was perfect for our family of six. Judy was a wonderful host, clear about the house rules and helpful with local information. Her property is convenient to the beach and is in a beautiful part of town. We hope to come stay again in the future!

Good location. Well equipped.
We were parents, plus our son and daughter-in-law. Bedrooms spacious and well separated. D-i-L's parents also came for several meals. The spacious sitting, dining, kitchen area (well equipped) was excellent for the six of us at those times which was important. The place is as per the photos. Close to nice beach -7 min walk-and has a good collection of boogie boards, buckets, fins/face masks. 7-10 min drive to good town centre - you need a car here.
Judy was very helpful, friendly as well as very clear about her rules.
Downsides? Living is upstairs away from nice back garden and good small BBQ. Hot water is solar heated which didn't work (not enough sun) in December and we have told Judy the electric supplement is inadequate - she said she would have it looked at.

Great house, close to the beach!
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. Judy gave us all the info we needed, and the home was very comfortable for our family to stay for the week. It's close to the beach, but we did have to walk a little bit down the road to go to the nearest public access (so not directly across the street), but that beach was well worth it!

Great Stay Close to Beach
I have stayed in Kailua through VRBO twice. This is by far the better of the two places. I stayed with my 3 children comfortably. Air conditioned, clean, access to washer and dryer, and more. The apartment is above Judy's garage, it's clean and a comfortable place to relax after a long day at the beach. It is a short 5 minute walk down the street to beach access. The apartment is well air conditioned with 3 units. Just do Judy a favor and don't run them when not in the apartment. They cool quickly as soon as you turn on. Also, she has plenty of towels, beach toys and chairs. We loved our stay and will definitely be back. This is great for a 4 person family or just a couples get away. Visit Waikiki if you want, but Kailua and Judy's beach house is the place to be. Thanks Judy! We loved meeting you!

A great place to stay in Oahu- windward side
My family including two teenagers stayed for 1/2 week in April at Judy's rental and after touring several places in Oahu, it was a hit. The location is great, a block from the beach and the neighborhood is really nice for walking or biking. You might need a car to go to restaurants and other places but the convenience of a fully equipped kitchen plus ample space will make your stay very pleasant.
Judy was very accommodating and willing to share key tips and options for entertainment. I would go back without hesitation. Mahalo!

Wonderful Vacation Spot
What a great experience staying at Judy's beautiful vacation home! Everything was exactly as promised and Judy couldn't have been a more accommodating and gracious host. We especially enjoyed the great beachside access every morning and evening. All the amenities were perfect for our week stay and we definitely will book her again on our next visit to Oahu!

Great quiet Kailua location - close to beach, highway access, and town!
Judy's place had everything on our checklist. Plenty of space for two teenage boys to get away from their annoying parents and at the same time great family areas for us to have meals together and talk. The washer/dryer allowed us to pack light and Judy seems to have most of everything you might forget to bring like sunscreen and shampoo. The boogie boards are well-worn but work fine and it is nice to not have to buy beach chairs. We often used the BBQ (again, well-worn but works fine) and the very large backyard during our stay. The kitchen is fully furnished. The windows let in lots of sunlight, but if you prefer it you can draw the blinds and turn on the A/C; it stays nice and cool. The house is one block away from one of the main public beach accesses for that end of Kailua beach and a couple blocks away from highway access and Safeway. Very comfortable beds, very clean, and a sweet and wonderful owner.

Great place for a great price.
Owner was very friendly. Place was very nice. Great place for a "mobile" family. Unfortunately we travelled with 2 elderly parents so the bathroom being upstairs and one bedroom downstairs was a problem for them. This home had everything we needed. We did buy some foil because the big frying pan did not have a lid on it and I did not want to get everything greasy. Upstairs bedroom mattress was fantastic! It was great having the washer and dryer so we could wash clothes.

Wonderful vacation again!
It was the third time I took my family Judy's corner house.
She is so friendly, and my family love her so much.
Every thing we're prepared very well, and we had a lot of fun every time we came here.
Both bed rooms and living room have separate type Air conditioners, and you can BBQ in the back yard if you like.
We will come again next time with my family.

Wonderful stay
We just returned from Hawaii, where we stayed in Judy's house. It had everything we needed and extremely clean. Judy was wonderful to work with and was very prompt during the booking process. We would definitely stay there again.

Great stay
We are former residents of Kailua and visit multiple times a year to see family. We always stay in Kailua/Lanikai area. This is one of the best places we have stayed at. It is nice to be away from the crowds at Kailua beach park and Lanikai. The place is quiet and very comfortable. The AC is a big bonus for those not used to the tropical heat. Judy is very welcoming and the house is extremely clean.

Amazing stay!
We were two couples looking for a mix of adventure and relax and we had a wonderful time. Kailua is so beautiful. The house is perfect, very comfortable and impeccably clean, it has everything you need. I really recommend, we have nothing to complain! Thank you for everything Judy. We miss Hawaii already. See you next time! Mahalo!

350 Steps to the Beach & 2 Miles to Island Snow!
Just had a wonderful visit back to our old home in Kailua - family of 4 plus a grandparent. Judy's place worked perfectly. Very clean, convenient, comfortable, and with everything we needed to enjoy a day at the beach and evenings relaxing. The proximity to beach access at the upper end of Kailua Beach is superb. A 2-mile walk or run down the wonderful beach puts you at Island Snow, the best shaved ice in the 50th state. The location is also great for easy access to the H3 and trips to other parts of the island.

Our family of 5 (Mom, Dad, and 3 daughers -- 20, 17 and 12) felt right at home in this spacious rental. From the moment you enter, you notice how clean and bright everything is...just like the photos. The living, dining and kitchen area has lots of room to relax, cook and eat together. Meanwhile the 3 flat screen T.V.s and free wifi let everyone do their own thing when they want to. The master bedroom with its huge closet and comfortable bed was a real treat! The in-suite washer and dryer were much appreciated since we were at the mid-point of our trip when we arrived. The backyard was private and surrounded by beautiful tropical plants and trees. We enjoyed using the bar-b-que a couple of times and even marinated our chicken with fresh Hawaiian pineapple. Judy made us feel welcome and gave us a great orientation and any assistance we required but also gave us freedom and privacy. The weather during our stay was uncharacteristically cool, windy and rainy. Even so, we enjoyed a couple of days at Kailua Beach Park where the normally calm waters treated us to some great waves so that we could make use of the boogie boards. We took day trips to Hanuama Bay (where we used some of the snorkel gear), Sea Life Park, the Dole Plantation, north shore and Polynesian Cultural Centre. Kailua is a great escape from the faster pace of Honolulu but has everything you need close by.

Two of us stayed a week at Judy's place and admittedly we were cautious about renting from a private Owner where we share the property rather than the autonomy of a hotel but Judy is easy-going, fun, and gives you all the privacy you could possibly want. The place is extraordinarily clean, the beds are super comfortable, and the kitchen is well-stocked for cooking. We also barbequed on what appeared to be a brand new BBQ Grill. The neighborhood is especially nice and the walk to the beach is quick and easy. Thank you Judy, for a wonderful vacation!

My husband, my brother and I returned to Judy's place and found it to be just as delightful 'a stay' as when we had rented it 6 years earlier. Judy was most accommodating and let us check out late in the afternoon when she heard of our late evening flight home. Thanks sooo much! We loved shopping in town and cooking fresh mahi mahi purchased at the local store. Judy's is located so close to the beach that it was easy for me to get up early to take some great photos of the morning sunrise.

I stayed this house with my wife,my son(1year old) and my wife's parents. The location is wonderful. Because the road got blocked, it can not go in the 250 steps ,but can go to the very quiet beach easily by walking. Judy provided the beach chairs, body board, and so on which need on the beach.
We prefer to this nearest beach(castles beach) better than Kailua Beach Park.Because the beach is so quiet like the private beach ,and is visible Mokulua Islands. We can also go to the downtown easily by car.
I would like to stay here again! Thank you,Judy!

My wife and I decided to rent this cute and convenient unit after reading the glowing reviews and great hospitality of Judy. Upon our arrival, Judy welcomed us like we were family! She showed us around the nicely appointed place we would call home for a week. The fridge and cupboard were already stocked with condiments and items that you usually need but never be able to use it all in just one week.
She told us where to find everything downtown including grocery stores, restaurants ( most of the menus were organized in a notebook on the coffee table) and local beaches.
Due to the lack of shade on the beach across the street, Judy recommended the Kailua Park which had shade trees. They also always have kite surfers which are incredible to watch. The downtown is quaint and has everything you need. We toured the rest of island which was an easy ride from Kailua.
The bed had a brand new king size mattress which made it soooo easy to sleep. The main living area has an air conditioner and the bedroom has one as well. The area is very quiet and convenient for a nice walk to the beach or around the neighborhood. Anytime we called Judy with questions she addressed them immediately. There were plenty of chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, cooler for packing a lunch that made it easy to enjoy the day at the beach.
Only one small glitch; the grill was not working well enough to cook burgers so it might be time for a new one.
Overall, I strongly urge you stay here. You will be assured of having a great time, comfortable lodging, and a friend for life, Judy!
Mahalo Judy for making our vacation special!

Our family of five stayed here for several weeks. We felt very much at home in this comfortable rental. Judy greeted us on our arrival and was available to help with any needs we had. The beach is close enough to walk back to the house if you forget something. We either hiked or were in the water every day so it was nice to be able to wash clothes. We loved staying in Kailua. The beach was beautiful and rarely crowded near Judy's house. We escaped all the traffic of Honolulu and enjoyed views of the Koolaus, as well as restaurants and shopping in Kailua. The house was tidy and well maintained. We enjoyed the convenience of hopping onto a main highway to tour the other side of the island, as well as being close to the North Shore. After long, fun days, we always looked forward to coming "home" to Judy's place. We felt more like locals and less like tourists. The listing reflects accurately what the accomodations are. We would love to stay here again--we didn't want to leave!

Our group of four adults stayed for three nights in late July. Many owners in the area wouldn’t rent for such a short stay, so we were grateful to find Judy’s place. The unit was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. Great location, reasonable price, and accurate VRBO listing.
…
Judy welcomed us upon our arrival, and was available when we had questions, but she gave us plenty of privacy the rest of the time. Judy was also very accommodating with our schedule, which we greatly appreciated.
…
Beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the washer and dryer saved us from having to pack home a bunch of dirty or wet clothes.
…
We welcomed the A/C at times, particularly when returning from a long day of adventures around the island. The only area that tended to be uncomfortably warm was the bathroom, but it has a table fan and a window.
…
There’s plenty of good eating in the area, and it was easy to find stores for groceries as well as a few odds and ends we needed.
…
Bottom line, Judy’s place was a great find, and I would recommend it to friends and family.

My husband and I found Judy's Beach House to be a wonderful destination. The town of Kailua is very charming, the beaches are beautiful with easy access and the location of the house gave us easy access to all of Oahu. We toured most of the island. There are many fine restaurants nearby, but the house is equipped with all you need to fix your own meals if you so desire. It just fit our life style perfectly!

We had such a nice stay at Judy's place. My husband and I traveled with our three-year-old and 6-month-old girls, and my brother, to help out with the girls when needed. We could not have been more comfortable. Judy's place had everything we needed - plenty of towels, beach towels, all the kitchen items needed to cook at home, and washer/dryer. She even provided laundry detergent! The layout of the space was perfect to have my brother sleeping downstairs in his own large room with sitting area. My older daughter slept on the sofabed in the downstairs bedroom as well. The baby stayed with us in the upstairs master bedroom. We ordered a pack-n-play from a local company who delivered and picked up, no problem. Judy's place was very clean, which we really appreciated! It was much more comfortable than a hotel would have been -- so much more space, which means more peace for all! We BBQ'd in the backyard one afternoon, which was lovely. We used the boogie boards and snorkeling gear another day. We were able to walk to the beach - so convenient! Many times a vacation can be stressful with kids, but not this one, and I think it was largely due to how comfortable Judy's place was. We would love to come back again! Mahalo.
