We had a wonderful time! What beautiful accommodations! A huge great room for all to enjoy and then a wonderful bedroom with attached baths for each of our kids and their families! Arnold was a fun town to walk around in with a coffee shop, restaurants, and an ice cream shop. We had a special long weekend together!

Our group of six adults and five young children had a wonderful ski weekend at the Yellow Dog Inn. Everything works in the house and the kitchen has anything you could need. We're already talking about when we can go back!

We have stayed at this property multiple times. We love that all the bedrooms have their own bathroom. We also love the huge kitchen and cozy living room with fire. It is right down the road from the grocery store which is great. We traveled up the road 10 minutes and went for a hike at Big Trees which was lovely. The host was very responsive and easy to communicate with.

The house and rooms are large and nicely spread out. Kitchen was well stocked with pot, pans, plates, glasses, etc. Stayed here with four teens and five adults and it was perfect. The teens want to make it an annual vacation to this house!

Peaceful Tree Surrounded Home
As usual the house was clean and welcoming for us. This is the fourth time we have stayed and we love it. Close to everything. Great grocery store, Big Tree Market, down the road and carries lots of local wines. Plenty of room for everyone. Thanks again.

Great stay! Just Magical
We got there just before the snow started and left as it was melting. There was a gorgeous meadow across the street that provided so much fun for the kids. They had tons of sleds. The kitchen was well stocked. The rooms were beautiful. This was our second stay at this house. We will be back!

Great getaway with friends
This house was perfect for multiple families. We had 3 couples with kids and had plenty of space and our own bathrooms. The kitchen was huge and had everything we needed to cook every meal. The property manager was extremely responsive when we had a slight hot water issue. He addressed the issue immediately and was so easy to work with. We will definitely be back!!!

Yellow dog
Place is Beautiful and easy to get to. Plenty a room for the Full family and a long driveway to hold all the cars 30 mins from the lake and 5 mins from the gas station 10 mins from the grocery store. Can say enough about this place. Own was easy to reach when the WiFi went down and he was able to make a call to get it fixed. All and all I give this place a 10 out of 10

Great space in great location
We really enjoyed Yellowdog Inn. We loved the kitchen with the two sinks, plenty of counter space, and well stocked dishes. The great room/dining area was big enough for our group of 14, 6 adults and 8 kids ranging 4-13, we didn’t feel cramped. We loved how many bathrooms there were and the bedrooms are styled beautifully. We enjoyed the fire pit, corn hole, kids lounge/loft, and the plenty of chairs on the porch. The location is great, very close to ice cream and outdoor summer evening concerts. Be advised that most places close early, around 5, in the neighboring towns. We were minutes away from Big Trees and White Pines Lake. The owner is very responsive and friendly.

Great Extended Family Getaway
This house was great for multiple families. The house is spacious and welcoming. The kitchen and great room area are fabulous for group meals and hanging out. We were surprised to see that one of the rooms was over the unattached garage and the 1/2 bath was downstairs in the garage. The room was super cute but not ideal since you had to go outside to access.

Place was amazing for three young families. The three master suites were great for adults and the upstairs room with four bunks and three more beds was awesome and made for a great play area. The kitchen was awesome - well equipped and easy to make multiple meals. Backyard was equipped with grills and fire pit and small play area for kiddos. Overall - a great trip!

This property was by far the best of all options for our family's weekend trip to Arnold and I'm so glad we were able to book it. Full amenities. Beautifully renovated. Dinnerware and board game cabinet fully stocked, TV equipped with Netflix, Hulu and whatever else you'd ever need. Backyard comes equipped with a fire pit, a long table for family style dining and a gas grill. Loved that there were enough private rooms and bathrooms for the couples and enough twin/bunk beds for everyone else — it made for ideal room assignments. We will definitely check here first the next time we're thinking about vacationing in the area. Make sure you bring your own towels and linens unless you're adding on the service through the property manager)

Great getaway
I went to Arnold with a group of girlfriends for a weekend getaway and the house was perfect for us. There were 13 of us and the house had plenty of space. The kitchens, front room bathrooms and all the bedrooms were gorgeous and clean. Beds were very comfortable! That’s not something you can always say at rentals. If I had to nitpick a little, it would have been nice for the back area to have been blown off, and the table wiped down, and also their were a bit of cobwebs, but it wasn’t a big deal at all. Would 100% stay here again with no hesitation! And loved the dog pictures and Austin powers!

Spacious and remodeled
We booked this house specifically because it was spacious and it was remodeled, a rare find in these areas. It was the perfect house for 3-4 families. I loved the upgrades, the designs and style of each bedroom, and quality was great. The only issues were, the house was not that clean, and it was freezing when we got there. Took 2 hours for the house to warm up because the thermostat was not turned on for us prior to our arrival. Walls and doors needed cleaning or repainting as they were dirty. The entire backyard was covered in leaves that were there for weeks or so, and it was tracked into the house everytime we came back inside. I can't imagine having someone come and leaf blow the place the day before guests to arrive would be too much to ask for. Spider webs everywhere, in all light fixtures, even under main kitchen table. We were told there would be no linen service because we booked with 4 days notice, and we had to bring our own. So we had to spend an extra $150 buying sheets for bed sizes we did not already have, to find there was a linen closet filled with linens folded. All these issues are a drop in the bucket, because the place was really nice and perfect for our families. We would definitely stay at this house again.

Family Getaway
The cabin is real nice and spacious. The kitchen, dining area, and family room area were great. Plenty of space for all of us to cook, hang out, eat, play games, watch TV, etc. The dual sinks in the kitchen came in handy, nice counter top with lots of counter space, and the stove was large and great to cook on.
There were a few things that were disappointing and it seemed like the cabin really wasn’t cleaned very well prior to our stay. We all felt these things could easily be resolved with a little more attention. The refrigerator in the kitchen was not good. The seals for both doors had mold growing down them, there were condiments with varying expiration dates (some should have been thrown out), and the freezer was a little dirty and had some open bags of expired food. There were spider/cobwebs in several rooms, dust and random bits of stuff from previous renters under some of the beds, and the garage was a bit messy and smelled like a wet dog. My wife ended up cleaning the dust and webs that she couldn’t live with.
My MIL went to use the bathroom in her room and the toilet seat fell off. It was apparently broken by a previous renter and wasn’t attached. In the same bathroom, the shower/bath tub was infested with ants. That was strange, but we ended up just closing the door to that bathroom and didn’t use it. Thankfully she is pretty laid back so she didn’t mind using the bathroom in the hallway.
The bedrooms were all good size and all 4 families had their own space. Two rooms upstairs are connected like a 2-room suite with twin beds and bunk beds. The kids really liked their bunk room and had a great time! One of the bedrooms with the queen bed is over the garage and detached from the cabin. We chose not to use it since nobody wanted to go thru the smelly garage and there is only a half bath downstairs.
The backyard/patio was great. It had a newer BBQ that worked well, lots of seating, and a propane fire pit/table. The propane tank was empty for the fire table, so we had to swap it in/out with the BBQ. It wasn’t a big issue since we spent more time inside due to the smoke in the air from the wildfires.
We hiked the Arnold Rim Trail, fished at White Pines Lake, and walked around the giant sequoias in Big Trees State Park. Overall, we all had a great time and the kids were real sad to go.

Great Stay at the Yellow Dog Inn
Just returned from a much needed 5 day vacation at the Yellow Dog Inn.
Check in was easy and it didn't take long to get comfortable in the great room. We really enjoyed preparing dinner in the spacious and updated kitchen. One night I used the new BBQ grill. A couple nights we had dinner on the patio and a couple nights we sat at the beautiful dining table inside. We looked forward to making s'mores every night under the stars with the new fire pit.
The bedrooms are extremely spacious and the beds are comfortable. The kids really appreciated the bunk beds.
We spent most days at Kayaking and Paddle boarding at White Pines Lake about 2 miles from the house.
Brad was always kick to respond if I had any questions and a pleasure to communicate with.
We're looking forward to spending more family vacations at the Yellow Dog Inn.

Family Reunion at the Yellow Dog Inn
I am the grandmother of 9 with four married children, and I was responsible for finding suitable housing for our Family Reunion. I don't see how we could have found a home better suited to our needs! We ALL appreciated the floor plan including four "suites" each with self-contained bathroom (plus a guest bathroom). The children were very comfortably accommodated upstairs (where there was a table and chairs, and books and games). The huge great room which is open to the spacious kitchen permitted us to feel all together all of the time. We never felt like we were bumping into each other during meal preparation. Two large sinks facilitated efficient team work! Brad had just finished the back yard with pavers and furniture--which was delightful. There was ample seating, both inside and out. Each adult and even the children individually came to me to say how very much they had liked staying at the Yellow Dog Inn and hoped we can do it again. We found the house clean and the kitchen extremely well-provisioned .
Additionally, we did make use of the "suite" over the garage, as one daughter had to teach her online college class on two days that we were there. The "apartment" provided complete privacy and quiet for that purpose.
Although I have not had the pleasure of meeting Brad in person, he has been consistently responsive and courteous. Thank you, Brad, for helping us make this Reunion the best yet! We are happy to recommend your home without reservation!
(We hiked the neighborhood, the Arnold Rim Trail, fished the White Pines Lake and enjoyed a comfortable and leisurely time at the Yellow Dog Inn!)

Awesome property
The Yellow Dog Inn is spacious and clean. It is a great place for larger groups. The kids in our family loved the bunk room. Each room in the main house has its own bathroom with tub/shower. Air conditioning is hard to come by in the area, so having that available in every room was a huge plus. Checking in and out was easy. The owner was responsive and helpful during our stay. We would definitely stay at this property again.

Luxurious and spacious
The place was perfect for 4 families and we had extra space. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom and felt very private. Every room was stocked with the nicest of amenities. The kitchen with two farmhouse sinks was perfect size for our four different families to simultaneously cook. We had some issues with the hot water, but Brad was very responsive.

A beautiful cabin home with all the comforts of home
My family celebrated thanksgiving here this year in comfort and joy!
We were so impressed by the beautiful home we felt just as if it was truly our own.
We highly recommend this property, Thank you to the owners for being so thoughtful to their guests.
We look forward to renting it again.
Cheers!

Excellent visit at Arnold
We were four families with kids, and everyone loved the cabin. It was perfect for our group. Separate rooms for the adults and the double connected room for the kids were great for privacy and noise separation. The spacious kitchen/dining room/living room area was perfect for faciliting a more communal, family feel. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. Communicating with Brad was easy. We will be back!

Wonderful retreat for a large group.
This is a wonderful place for a group including a large gourmet kitchen and great room with dining room table for at least 10 and large sofas and fireplace. Most bedrooms have on-suite bathrooms with enough beds for 10. The home, just outside Arnold, is centrally located between the Big Trees State Park, Alpine Lake and Murphy's. The market in Arnold is very good with everything you need to make a gourmet meal. There are excellent dining options in Arnold and Murphys along with shopping and wine tasting. The TV set up is a little difficult to figure out, but who needs TV in such a wonderful locale. The internet works well if you need to stay connected. The dining room chairs are not very comfortable, but otherwise the furnishings are very nice.

Great weekend getaway
This property is quite nice, the recent renovations are very tasteful. The great room is welcoming, the kitchen is well stocked and very spacious, and there is plenty of room at the great room table for dining. The bedrooms in the house all have their own bathrooms and are quite spacious. The bedroom in the garage is pretty large and the half bath is downstairs, so be aware that you need to go down from the bedroom to use it. The owner was quite responsive as soon as some issues with the app were straightened out.
Because of the ample number of bedrooms and bathrooms, the Yellow Dog in is a great place for either 3-4 couples or a large family gathering. Both Calaveras Big Trees State Park and Murphys are easy drives from there.

Great place for family retreat.
The place was stunning! The beds were all comfortable and there were enough full bathrooms to keep everyone happy. The kitchen had room enough for a crowd to cook all at the same time and the great room was huge. We loved the location--you walk right out the back door and are steps from the trail leading up to the Arnold rim trail. There are a couple of nice restaurants right next door, and it is a mile from the market and Snowshoe Brewery. It is a perfect location-for winter--a large flat parking area and-just off 4, which is promptly plowed when it snows.

Great facility for our family vacation
This cabin was a perfect fit for our family. The spacious kitchen was very well stocked and was ideal for our large family. The large living and dining room was a perfect gathering space for meals and gatherings. We also used an outside picnic area beside the garage since the weather was great. The spacious bed rooms accommodated our children and a few grandchildren well. A few of the girls used the loft above the garage to give us plenty of space. The home is well stocked include Kayaks and paddle boards to use on the nearby lake. This cabin is ideal for any family or group that needs a beautiful place to gather and relax close by the state forest. We enjoyed hiking the south grove of the Big Trees park as well as made a day trip to Yosemite.

Beautifully decorated and appointed but.....
This is a beautiful home and the owners have amazing Taste. The house is fairly new and very comfortable. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's very dirty! The floors haven't been cleaned in a very long time. The furniture in the bedrooms wasn't even wiped off and there was trash under the beds. I'm sure the owners, who appear to have such good taste, are not aware of how filthy the home is. I accidentally dropped my dress and it came off the floor filthy. 😞 We paid $2000 for three nights and sneezed and wheezed the whole time. The kitchen and bathroom fixtures were clean but the floors havent been cleaned or mopped after many guest visits.

Luxurious, stunning and magical!!
We just returned form THE BEST STAY at the Yellow Dog!! We ALL cannot wait to return!
We were up in Arnold for my daughter's wedding , which was at an Inn that was literally within walking distance of this BEAUTIFUL home! Brad was an INCREDIBLE host and very responsive to all our questions---he even had air conditioning installed just prior to our visit! How COOL is that!!! This was SO appreciated as it was a major heat wave during the wedding prep etc. My daughter wanted a home in which she and her entire wedding party could "get ready" and enjoy the day of the wedding--and she got just what she dreamed of with this home! The great room offered ALL that and more!! The staircase offered a stage for some stunning pictures of my daughter as she descended the stairs with her dress flowing---it was quite beautiful!
I had all my east coast family here for the wedding and ALL of them enjoyed the comforts and luxury of this AWESOME home. We hosted several large family and friend celebrations --and everyone was enthralled by this home.
Everybody had a place to be comfortable and commune together in---and then a private place to call their own and not to mention a private bathroom for all our guests! My brother loved his private suite over the garage!!
The Kitchen is one that every chef dreams of--and we enjoyed many group meals cooked and served with ease ---and to be able to have everyone sit around the massive table and commune together was perfect! The wine fridge and small fridge for beer and soft drinks was a HUGE hit!
This home has EVERYTHING you could possible need and more. The front yard has a Zip Line for the kids and "smaller" adults---a comfy hammock---rockers on the porch---all so you can sit in the shade and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you..and I do mean beauty!!!
The back area had a HUGE outdoor table for all to sit at and still be under the shade with market lights strung up for both lighting and for that magical look. Ahhh! We used the outdoor grill for our big family dinners and it was great!
The beds are SOOOOO comfortable and even as I write this ---I so miss all the beauty and warmth of this home --but hold close all the memories we created!
Three cheers to Brad for creating such a remarkable home!
Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for your warmth and kindness Brad---and for helping us make our daughters wedding such a magical time!

Beautiful and Spacious
Four families rented this property MLK weekend 2017. We had 8 adults and 7 kids and we had PLENTY of room. Three of the rooms have king-size beds and I would say all are equally nice. Not the usual rental where there is usually one really nice room and the rest are just ok. The 4th room was over the garage and was quite nice and really spacious...but you do have to exit the house and go through the garage to get to it and the bathroom is on the ground level and not up in the bedroom suite. With that being said there was a nice and large guest bathroom on the first floor of the house with a shower that the family staying over the garage used. The kid's rooms were also really nice and we loved that they had a play area (with lots of games) and a tv. The kitchen is huge and beautifully done and had everything we needed. The kitchen is open to the dining area (could easily seat 10-12) and living room. The living room had really nice and comfortable seating (2 cushy chairs and 2 really deep sofas). Even though the house is really big it felt very cozy and warm. We were only 35 minutes away from Bear Valley where we spent one of the days skiing as they had just gotten over 100" of new snow!! We also went sledding on the side of the road about 15 minutes up from the house. We all thought this place was amazing and we had a GREAT time and would definitely stay here again. The only negative thing that I will mention is that the owners may want to check on their cleaning service. They did not put garbage bags in all of the kitchen garbage bins, they did not put towels in the guest bathroom, and the laundry room was left in disarray with a load of wet sheets in the washing machine that smelled of mildew. None of these were major issues but with a little more attention to detail this house would be considered PERFECT.
