About this house rental
Surrounded by tall pines and located within the Chippewa National Forest, Bluewater visitors experience the serene beauty of the Northwoods. Our seven-acre camp is located on Bluewater Lake on private lakeshore, just 20 minutes north of Grand Rapids, MN. The lake is largely undeveloped with an amazing 20-foot water clarity and a sandy rock bottom. Wildlife sightings of loons, deer, bald eagles and great blue heron are plentiful, and be sure to keep an eye out on hikes for wild strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Make Bluewater your next outdoor getaway!
Groups enjoy exclusive use of the property, including recreational equipment: board games, basketball hoop, volleyball net, sports equipment, canoes with life jackets and paddles, and access to hiking/cross-country ski/snowmobile trails. There are also two docks for fishing. Motorized boats may be launched at the public landing just down the road.
Bluewater Lake is part of the Wabana Chain of Lakes, perfect for a day of exploration, which takes you to the historic Joyce Estate. The Wabana Chain also provides excellent fishing, including lake trout, walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, crappie, perch, bluegill and sunfish.
Bluewater is available year-round and near local ATV and snowmobile trails.
You'll stay in the main lodge (Bluewater Lodge) which features 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, commercial kitchen, and fireplace.
Bluewater Lodge provides living space, kitchen and sleeping quarters for 39 people. The main gathering space is flexible for dining, lounging or indoor activities. The lodge features an indoor gas fireplace. Sleeping accommodations are divided between two wings off the main gathering area. Each wing features bedrooms that sleep two to 10 people in twin and/or bunk beds, plus two full bathrooms with showers. All bedrooms have an exterior door. A beautiful commercial kitchen provides ample food storage, prep space and dishwasher, as well as utensils and cookware needed to prepare and serve meals.
NEW! Add on the lakeside bunkhouse (sleeps 20, 2 bunkrooms, electricity-only) for just $150/night! Only available with lodge rental – contact us to add the bunkhouse to your reservation.
Guests provide their own bedding and towels.
Please Note: our administrative office is open Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm for rental bookings and inquiries. While staying at Camp Bluewater you will have an after-hours contact.
To ensure the Lodge is ready for the next group, we ask our guests to tidy up before they leave. This includes: washing dishes, wiping down counters tops and tables, removing all food from the fridge/freezer, taking out trash, and returning all items where they belong.

The place was gorgeous, spacious for a large group to stay. Onsite canoe, fishing dock and lots of game/activities, would book again!

Enough space for multiple families and large kitchen to prepare meals for everyone. The two docks and multiple canoes for water activities were a highlight, but the large field also allowed a variety of sports and games to be played as well. Overall an excellent experience and Joe was a great host. Highly recommend for family getaway or reunion.

We came here for a family reunion. The kitchen was a nice size and easy to cook for a large group. Communication with the property manager was great. When one of us had some car trouble when leaving he offered to help any way we could. He even offered us to stay another night so we could find someone to fix the car. Would recommend this place.

All my questions were answered quickly from the time I booked to checking out. The building and grounds were clean and welcoming. The entrance of the lake is sandy and had minimum weeds. I would recommend this place for large groups.

The property was in a great location on a quite lake. It was just right for a multi family gathering with all the bed rooms, common space, and commercial kitchen. General maintenance and cleanliness however left something to be desired. Kitchen floor was dirty and had broken glass on it upon arrival and there were many small items in need on repair.

This is a very peaceful and private camp with great fishing. The only things missing were AC and laundry. The facility could also use a bigger garbage dumpster given the size of the lodge and bears around. Other than that everything was great!

Joseph was super friendly and detailed about the Buildings and area. The children and adults enjoyed the canoes and large space that was available during the time. Overall everyone enjoyed the stay and was comfortable.

Lodge was big and accommodated for our multi families. There was plenty of space for everyone. It was huge inside and out. The kids loved it. Swimming was close by but far enough away from the lodge. The lake was beautiful! Would definitely come back.

Cabin’s location and view are amazing. Super secluded and a beautiful lake. Cabin provided a lot of rooms to sleep and an area to hangout. Fishing on the lake was good also! Canoes were available for everyone!
