Nice hostel at a good location. The terrace is amazing and probably one of our favorite spots at San Pedro. There's filtered water, a big and clean kitchen that you can use and a laundry service.
They lost one of my socks in the laundry but these things happen. Had one cockroach in our room but in general it was a clean hostel.

Staff was incredibly helpful and responsive. Everyone was very friendly, kitchen was clean, very nice deck. Very reasonably priced.
Water ran out while I was showering, but I told the manager and he fixed it within a few minutes!

Rooftop was great and had a very chilled vibe.
The walk from town felt a little bit sketchy sometimes down the alley way so wouldn’t want to do by myself. We were staying on the top floor in one of the privates which lead directly into the common area so was pretty noisy with people out there until late at night.

Chill place, double beds really perfect.
Social place at the terrasse to have a drink, location quite central.
Saw the reviews about the "noise" from the party hostel, but really didnt hear any loud noise, it was quite chill actually on the day i was there
Shower are not so warm... even cold.. not nice in this place which is already quite chill at night :/

Overall, this property is a great value for what you get. Central location but still off of the main street, double beds and large room sizes, and great roof top terrace which is a great place to meet people. This hostel actually exceeded my expectations on the social front, as the guests seemed eager to get to know each other and there were many spaces to strike up conversations!
Night shift staff very kind but daytime staff/volunteers have a "don't care" attitude and do not do anything to make guests feel particularly welcome. Facilities, while generally clean (except for kitchen fridge) are QUITE worn. Also no fan in the room. Pillow was basically lumpy and flat. All bedding + rooftop pillows could use a refresh. Also, not the hostel's fault at all, but note that you can hear the party hostel LOUDLY until about 10 pm. Music goes for most of the day too. Also, they overcharge for all activities so would recommend booking with vendors on the street

+ Beautiful terrace
+ Big kitchen
- Wi-Fi is an absolute disaster. In the lounges or in the room.
- Hotel and room very run down.
- Location central but very noisy from 5 to 11pm due to party hostel next door.
- Fireworks are often fired from the roof in the night next door. Sleeping in peace not always possible.
- Toilet flush in private room was bad.

Hostel was exceptionally clean! Super comfortable beds, double beds per person in a huge room with lots of private space. Well equipped kitchen with good quality pots and pans. Chilled out vibes and attracts good people. Best thing is the rooftop and can sit and spend many hours there. I was doing a hike and needed to leave my bag and the owner Jose was very accomodating plus flexible when I had a change of plan and had to cancel last minute !
Could be more social if they arrange perhaps a weekly event

The owner is the nicest guy, you can always trust the energy. The other workers were extremely sweet as well and very helpful. This place has a lovely view and you get the main strip San Pedro in a 2 min walk. Health store right there. Amazing products there. The bedroom was perfect for me I was beside the windows and had the largest bed. The rooftop lookout is comfy and a great place to chill and play one of the multiple board games they have up there. Kitchen is clean and a nice open area with a Beautiful Bob Marley poster so I was quite happy there! Enjoy yourselves 🤙🏼 plus it’s only 30Q for a return ticket to San Marcos.

We stayed in a double room. We appreciated a table in pur room since we had to work. The shared kitchen was clean and well equipped. Location o the hostel is good, 3 minutes walk from the main busy street.
We stayed for 3 nights and every evening roughly from 6 to 10 there was a loud music coming from other hostels/bars. It wasn’t that bad but it couldn’t be just ignored and it can get annoying of you stay for long time I guess.

Location is good even though the Mr Mullet at few meters implies no sleep till midnight. The terrace at 4th floor has a great view and the kitchen is well equipped. Very clean and comfortable beds.
Only 3 bathrooms, no hot water. Basically there's no staff, only volunteers that are not really able to help with transportation options, payments etc. Credit card fee at 10% makes zero sense. The dorm room next to the kitchen is extremely noisy

Very nice hostel, nice vibe, great communal areas and kitchen. Bed was big and comfy and the bathroom nice and clean.
The party hostel is nextdoor and was very loud, tough it was around new years so maybe a coincidence. You have to walk through some dark alley's to get there, but I personally didn't feel unsafe there.

Little water out of shower and sink in our room

great staff, good location
next door is a party hostel that has loud techno music from 11am to 11pm. very very uncomfortable bed as well

Nice cosy hostel with good vibe and good comfy rooms.
The staff is friendly and you have a nice terrace with a good view.
Next to it is a party hostel and you have loud music and loud screaming drunk people every afternoon / night.
The entrance is in a little shady-looking side street up some hill, but we never felt unsafe to go through there.

Great location in San Pedro, perfect if you want to be in a chill spot just outside the party bars/hostels. Really great staff too!
They have 3x Wi-Fi boxes & they all barely work. For the private rooms, you need to lock it with a key from the inside, essentially you can lock yourself in the room if you lost the key or what if there was a fire?

single beds in dorm instead of bunks was great. good location. didn’t go to common areas upstairs so can’t remark on whether there was a socialising atmosphere.
water wasn’t hot for first night. no 24/7 reception

I loved this hostel. The staff was very helpful and the hostel is kept very clean. There is a gorgeous terrace overlooking the lake and volcanoes which is an amazing place to start your morning and end your night. The kitchen is huge and has everything you need to cook. The value for money for this place is exceptional. I was recently travelling through Europe where I payed 5 times the price for a door room. Mandalas was much nicer and offered a lot more in comparison to the hostels I stayed at there. The beds are large and very comfortable. The location is excellent, (just off from the Main Street with restaurants, bars, and lake access.) This was a great place for me to rest and explore San Pedro and the surrounding towns around the lake. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to lake Atitlan!

good location
great kitchen with a toster oven and all that is needed
big beds (queen) in shared room
good Wi-Fi
I slept in the first floor, a few times a cat walked into the room because the door doesn’t close properly (no key to it either) and climbed Into my bed and on my stuff (!!!!!!!)
no hot water at the shower
there is no proper reception so doesn’t feel like the is always a staff member that is around for questions. a few times in my stay I needed to go and open the front door because people were locked outside.
you can hear the music from mr. mullets very loud until 11PM +-

Staff is nice, kitchen is very well equipped, it was very quiet at night
We took the private room with sea view. There was stinky mold in the room, we asked for a new room which we got immediately but there the flush of the toilet did not work. It wasn't very clean as well.

Nice relaxed hostel. Not a party hostel but pleasant enough. Dorm beds are very large single beds so very comfy compared to most hostels. Staff are friendly
Laundry was quick but quite expensive. Room was quite bright in the mornings. Bit further from the main drag than others down a dark alley, still felt quite safe though

creepy way to go back in the dark (not on the main street and getting to the hostel through a small alley)
6.0 / 10.0
The place was very nice and the staff very helpful.
The noise from the Party hostel next to it was unbearable.
8.0 / 10.0
The people who work there are really kind and helpful, you can ask them anything!
I looove the open social spots where you can hang out with people. The kitchen is big and has everything that you need and more!
They need new beds.

wifi too slow

Nice hammock area and rooftop. Friendly staff.
Woke up in the night to a CAT on my pillow. I was in the large 3 bed dorm on ground floor. Window had no mosquito net so I assume thats how the Cat got in. I screamed and woke up the other girl in the room.

really good location. staff are really nice. really clean. but not a place for meet people.
8.0 / 10.0
Amazing kitchen with all possible facilities and very spacious, great high level view of the lake. Centric
You could really hear the party music from the party hostel Mr Mullets from 16-22:30 - just be aware of this. Entrance is quite hidden and possibly difficult to find
9.0 / 10.0
Great location, rooms are very nice (no bunk beds and only 4 in each!!), Terrific kitchen and overall a good vibe
Very close to Mr mullets so it can get quite noisy, wasn't a problem for me at all but important to know
8.0 / 10.0
the staff were amazing and so was was the kitchen! nice roof top too.
so much noise around, but I guess that’s San Pedro’s fault
8.0 / 10.0
The hostel does not sell food, but they have a very helpful map that shows you different options around town. The hosts communicates mainly via WhatsApp but responds very quickly. Lastly: very good laundry service!
The beds are small. Rooms are relatively small.
