About this cottage rental
The Sea Turtle cottage is located in the heart of exciting Gulfport within walking distance to the beach, parks, casino and Historic Downtown Gulfport's restaurants, shops and bars. The Sea Turtle is on the Mississippi Department of Archives and History covenant register and has been carefully restored to the charms of yesteryear. If you enjoy the ambiance of 'days gone by, then the Sea Turtle Cottage with its original hardwood floors, tongue and groove ceilings and comfortable and eclectic antique furnishings is the place for you!
Sleeping accommodations are great. The parlor bedroom features a four poster bed, antique chifforobe trestle table and flat screen TV. An antique full size burl maple bed with matching armoire and an antique single brass bed in the second bedroom is just perfect for the aunts and nieces. A French Provincial queen bed in a third bedroom with it's nautical touches is seaside cottage chique.
Dining and entertaining for large groups is artfully easy. The graceful dining room table has two leafs for expanding to easily accommodate parties of ten. The kitchen is equipped with all the tools you'll need to make fabulous meals to wine and dine with friends and family.
Relax in the parlor living room where you and your musical guests and friends can have a fun night playing the spinet piano or guitar. Or gather in the sunroom where you will find a comfy sectional sofa to curl up with a bowl of popcorn and sweet tea to watch your favorite shows or DVDs on the flat screen TV.
Fun continues in the fenced backyard with grilling, yard games and sunning on the deck.
Two full baths make it easy to get up and get going. One bath includes a bathtub and shower combination that is great for the little guys.
This is a perfect vacation spot for family gatherings, and casino goers alike. The kids will love the splash pad at West Side Park located just a stroll around the block. And Jones Park with its scheduled entertainment (Fishing Rodeo July 4th weekend and Festival of Lights during Christmas) and picnic areas and playgrounds is so close you can walk to it. And new to the downtown area is The Mississippi Aquarium! The Gulfport Harbor will delight you with fishing piers and the offerings of charter boats. Or in season, take a ride on the Ship Island Excursion Boat leaving from the harbor to tour Historic Fort Massachusetts and leave you to do some 'barrier island' beach combing or dolphin watch. The Beach Comber Trolley stops at Jones Park, ready to pick you up and carry you up and down the coast for even more shopping and dining and casino fun! Even golfing! And the Island View Casino is a good neighbor living just across the street ready and waiting for whenever you're feeling lucky! Get in the car and you’ll find more fun with outlet malls, discount stores, golf courses, Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, Train Museum and the Gulf Island Water Park.
Come and stay and play at the Sea Turtle Cottage. I just know you will make some great memories.

The house was lovely, and we for the most part enjoyed our stay. However, I would like to be transparent for any families looking in this area. The neighborhood left us uncomfortable about our safety at times, and with childen in tow, this was an issue. The first night of our stay our teenage who was

Very comfortable. All of us had plenty of room. Did not feel crowded at all. The Jack and Jill connected front rooms were perfect for my husband, I and our son. Back yard was so nice to relax in during the evenings. Walking distance to the beach and casino. Loved the property.

The property was two blocks from a white sand beach, though you could only wade in the water. It was centrally located for all the family's activities, and the house was comfortable.

The house is a cute beach house with beautiful woodwork and floors. The house was very comfortable and the kids and I enjoyed hanging out, watching movies, or playing games after a long day of seeing the sights. I am glad we chose to stay in Gulfport - there was lots to do within a five minute drive and the roads and beaches were never crowded. We all enjoyed our vacation!

This house was a wonderful, comfortable and relaxing home base. Way more spacious and cuter than the photos make it look!
We had five children and two adults staying, and never felt crowded. The layout was great for us to let younger kids go to sleep earlier in one end of the house, while everyone else stayed up later at the other end. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the evenings and watching the geckos wiggle around on the porch ceiling. Despite being across the street, you hardly can see or notice the casino.
The kitchen is well appointed, and just lacks a bit on counter space. Bathrooms are large and very functional. Beds were fine, no complaints. Good selection of games in the house.
Walk to the beach is about 7 minutes and not difficult, plus easy driving to any of the shore all the way down to Pass Christian. Ferry to Ship Island is a 1 minute drive away. We also enjoyed a half day at the marine mammal institute closer to Biloxi.

There were 4 of us here. My mother 82, baby sister 60, my husband and myself with 2 dogs. We enjoyed the dinning room. It is important to us to eat together and it is large enough to do so comfortably. The kitchen is on the small side but well stocked. The bedrooms are all on one side of the house with doors inside the room that open so you can see through all rooms. For us that was perfect because my sister and mother had the first 2 rooms, left the door open in case mom needed help and shared a bathroom. The two living areas are great. You can divide the house between your party. We did because of our dogs. We took the 3 rd room closest to the back door and fenced in yard. There is a living room/den right outside the bedroom door. We felt we had a private area. We will come back here again.

Great location and great attention by owner

The house is old with minimal uplifts and repairs. Some may call it “quaint”, but it needs a lot of work.

We went for cruising the Coast. House was great central location!

The property was great. Walking distance to the casino and beach. Gulfport it’s self is less then desirable. There were no piers open for fishing and the beaches were dirty, with no one on them.

Relaxing and comfortable and very informal cottage! Kitchen was well stocked a bit small but manageable. The yard was very nice and fenced in so my 2 fur babies were happy and safe. The house was a little warm during the day but that’s due to this 100 plus degree heat!
All and all we really enjoyed our week stay!

The property was a bit too rustic for my friends and me. The property could use a good washing and painting. The front porch was dirty and there were dirty towels on table in back yard. Not a great location either.

The property was clean. The owners were quick to solve a problem. Surrounding are was a bit sketchy. If you like the casino directly across the street. Close to the beaches and the 49. We would rebook in the future .

Cottage is super cute. Everything we needed was there for our use. We had a couple uncomfortable incidents. Friday night we had a lady show up on the porch while we were sitting there. She started smoking cigarettes and had a beer with her. She was walking and said she didn’t know where she was going. We wonder if she wasn’t homeless and slept in the house next to yours. Sunday morning a man was walking down the street screaming he needed help. Then yesterday we got up and there is a pile of broken glass in front of our vehicle. I’m not sure if there’s problems in this neighborhood or not. Might be worth contacting local police to keep an eye out for any of your renters in the future. Thank you.

This is a cozy cottage with a non-pretentious comfortable relaxed feel that puts you in the mood to enjoy all that the casual coast life has to offer. The somewhat rustic distressed nature is accentuated by the beach decor and vintage furnishings. It is fun, close to many sites, food and sounds of the coast. Enjoy!

Awesome stay-will rebook again!
Sea turtle cottage is better than the pictures show - location is great, kitchen was fully stocked with everything plus some I needed, cottage decorated beautifully - my sixteen year old loved the piano. Hosted a dinner with family who live locally & made some amazing memories. Outside includes a grill, patio area & is fenced for privacy. Beth is a great host and made our first VBRO stay an amazing experience - she definitely set the bar high for reservations in other cities.

Lovely 3 bedroom and 2 bath cottage with plenty of space. Beds are comfy with antique bed frames and furnishings. Short walk to the Gulf. We enjoyed sitting in the private back yard in the evenings

Cute & Comfy Historic Getaway
The Turtle cottage was just what we needed for a sister's 60th Birthday. I arrived early and baked a cake in Beth's cute kitchen that had everything we needed to make a special meal including an apron! With the large living room leading into the large dining room, it's such a comfy place to gather. We loved the front porch and back fenced in yard complete with deck & furniture. We rode bikes and walked to the beach everyday since it's just down the street a couple of blocks. We truly relaxed and enjoyed our stay - Thanks Beth!
