About this apartment rental
Our beautiful, completely remodeled and fully air conditioned condo is on the top floor of the Lord Nelson building on the Praca do Lido park with fabulous views that overlook Copacabana Beach as well as the famous statue of Christ, which illuminates the city. You will feel like you are on the beach without ever venturing outside! There is a queen bed in the master bedroom and a full size bed in the second bedroom. There are 2 modern bathrooms plus a 3rd bathroom in the kitchen. Full size separate American style washer and dryer are unique in Rio. Gas stove top, electric oven, standard size microwave and refrigerator are provided in fully stocked kitchen. Both Brazilian and US electrical outlets have been installed throughout the condo. Flat screen TV, Blu-ray player and wireless internet provided. The building has 24 hour doormen. This is our 2nd home so it has been lovingly maintained!

this unit was recently reburbished, the building is an older building and has no facilities like pool, gym etc. but great location and a reasonable price.We where just unlucky with the weather (it rained the whole week) so we missed a gym But the whle process was easy and was easy and we can recommend this unit.

The photos from the listing don't give the view the justice it deserves - they were breathtaking. We really enjoyed our 3-week stay here and wish we could have stayed longer. The apartment is in a great location, right across from the beach and near plenty of places to eat. We had 2 people working remotely and there was plenty of room and table space for us to work effectively. The 24/7 doormen were very nice and there is a convenient shower/foot wash station in the garage for when you are coming back from the beach covered in sand. Communication with the host was very easy and prompt. I would highly recommend and would to come back.

Pictures are always taken with wide angled lenses, so I was under the impression the flat had a different layout.
( I did not like the suite being adjoined to the living area. I should say there was a divider glass door, it’s just not my taste)
Steven was super attentive and always answered queries. There were a couple of issues. The worst being MY phone stopped working on day 2 which really upset me. Steven says he’s never heard anyone else complain, so I’ve no idea what the issue was. I just was So Happy when at the airport all was well again.
If you are in Rio and want to be ON Copacabana, I would definitely recommend this place for a family with young kids or two couples.
The place was well presented, with a number of instructions throughout the flat explaining how to keep it in the condition you found it.
The one point I was surprised with, was an automatic non returnable fee that was paid upfront, for potential damages. I have been in places before that HOLD an amount in case of any damage,
but not a non refundable one.

This apt has an amazing view of Copacabana beach and some of the nearby mountains. The apt had everything we needed and the location can't be beaten, one block from the beach!

Great family environment and perfect location with an exceptional view

There isn't a better location along Copacabana beach than this place. A minute walk to the beach. Less than a minute walk to 2 good restaurants, a pharmacy, and a grocery store. Within 5 minutes of every service you can think of. Need a hair cut? There are 3 places within a block. Wife wants her nails done? There are 6 places within 2 blocks. Want to catch a shuttle to Corcovado? It's a couple minutes away from the front door.
The apartment has a full kitchen (if none of the restaurants work for you) and a full washer and dryer.
The host is also fantastic. He's there when you need him and checks in to make sure everything is going well. I'm not really sure how he could be better.
The only thing I wish I had was more time to spend here.

The apartment was the perfect location with easy access to the beach, meals and 24 hour view of Christ the Redeemer. It was well suited for our family and Steven was easy to communicate with as he was responsive to all of our questions. We highly recommend this apartment!

This apartment is excellent ! It looks exactly like the pictures. Very few apartments in Copacabana have balconies or even views, and even though this place doesn't have a balcony, the large windows all open up to give it the feeling that the whole wall IS a balcony. What's even better is that most apartments only have views of the beach OR The mountains (or no view), but here you will have a panoramic, beachside view, city view and mountain views and a clear sight line to Christ The Redeemer!
We were here for the New Years Eve fireworks, and watching it from the apartment will be an experience we will never forget !
The apartment is on a dead end street right across from Copacabana beach, steps away from grocery and shopping, as well as transit.
The Doormen are all friendly and funny, and even though we didn't speak Portuguese, they helped us out a lot.
The owner is easy to communicate with and very informative, and the property manager is very kind. (She doesn't speak English, but was a pleasure to meet.)
If you are checking in late, there is a trick to the door locks, so make sure you get instructions. It's very secure !
All in all, this is a perfect vacation rental for either 2 or 4 visitors!

My expectations for this property were high, but they were exceeded. The owner was in close contact via Whatsapp through out the pre-arrival period. Dona Teresa provided a flawless check-in and check-out. The apartment is beautiful, well equipped, well organized, with breathtaking views and located in a prime neighborhood with everything you will need within a short radius. I have stayed in many apartments and hotels in Rio and this stay ranked well above the rest. I recommend this location without reservation. Thanks, Steve, for being such an attentive host. You will be hearng from me about future rentals.

Great location and beautiful views
Spent over a week here. Very comfortable condo for a group of four. Steven and Debra were very helpful and had a lot of tips for navigating through the area. We all had a great time during our stay!

Fabulous views from a penthouse in Rio
We had a great 5-night stay at this property. The views of Copacabana beach, city, and Christ the Redeemer will be remembered forever. Condo was light, bright and clean. Two bedrooms and two baths worked great for our family of 3.

Beautiful apartment with a stunning view
This has been one of the nicest apartments we ever stayed it. The location is optimal, since it is 1 minute away from the beach. Definitely the best view of Copacabana that you could imagine. It is located in the 14th floor and you have a beautiful big glass window to enjoy sunsets from. Very clean and modern decorated. Steven was extremely nice and very quick to reply. The check-in and check-out was super easy and the doormen were always helping and very sweet. Definitely going to stay here in the future. Thank you!

Perfect appartment, location and view in Copacabana
The appartement is modern, full equiped and has the best view of all Copacabana beach due to is located in front of a square. It has all the gadgets and stuff for the stay. Check in process as agreed. Very quick response and kind contact with the owner and manager in case of any issue. I will reserve this appartment in my next visit to Rio, of course.

Stunning Views
We stayed at Steven and Debra’s apartment for one week. The apartment is beautifully decorated and very clean. Everyone made us feel welcome. The apartment is perfectly situated with many restaurants, bars and shopping within easy walking distance. But the best part of all is the stunning views of almost the entire length of Copacabana Beach. Steven was most accommodating – a wonderful host. We would recommend this apartment for anyone coming to Rio, you won’t regret it.

The overall experience was great. The apartment was amazing with extraordinary views. We would definitely recommend Steven and Deb’s place to anyone and everyone. It’s in a perfect location, right smack in the middle of everything and at most an hour away from some of the other must see sights. Both Steven and Deb were and are wonderful. Timely responses and went out of there way to make arrangements for us to park our rental car. If and when we return to Brazil Steven and Deb’s apartment is the place we will stay once again.

beautiful front ocean view
Our stay at Steven’s lovely apartment was wonderful! It was conveniently located across the street from the beach. The sizable apartment was clean and the beds were comfortable. The large windows offer a beautiful front ocean view and you can also see Christ of the Redeemer! The apartment was conveniently located next to the pop up markets with delicious local food and a great place to buy souvenirs. The neighborhood is a home to many good restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, and small beach bars. There is even a CrossFit gym is around the corner. The metro station is located a short walk distance from the apartment.

The perfect apartment for a week in Rio!
This is a fantastic apartment in many ways. It is modern, beautiful and spacious, with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms.
The kitchen is excellent and well equipped, and the clothes washer and dryer are great. The hosts are very professional and friendly in their communication and the lady who met us at the start and end (Teresa) is friendly, helpful and super nice. The location is perfect with a metro stop about 10 min away by foot, Copacabana beach a few meters/yards away, and many services very close, e.g., grocery stores, restaurants. I saved the best for last-the view of Copacabana Beach is 'to die for' and Corcovado is lit up and visible at night.
I hope that we can come back again one day to this dream place!

Absolutely PERFECT!!
As a first time traveler to Rio's Carnival, Steve and Deb make this experience so very easy. They provided lots of useful information and kept in contact me with throughout the process; even following up with me to make sure everything was going well during my visit. Their service was OUTSTANDING!
The condo is amazing. It is exactly as seen in the photos but MUCH MORE beautiful! It was super clean and well kept. It is right in the middle of everything I wanted to see and do: beach, restaurants, shopping, etc. It was safe; with a 24 hour door man and locked gates. It has all the listed amenities and more. I have to mention, the beds were very comfortable especially after a long day of walking. This place is BEAUTIFUL and I can't say enough good things about my experience from start to finish. It really is perfect and I can't wait to stay there again! Thank you, Steve & Deb, for making this a trip of a lifetime!!

Fabulous condo in an amazing location! Highly recommend for a relaxing stay in Rio!
Steven and Debra are fabulous hosts to deal with and will provide you with any info you could possibly need. The condo is excellent and has absolutely everything you could possibly need during your stay. The washer and dryer was such a bonus, arriving after a week on the Amazon, we had so much laundry!
The apartment is spacious and comfortable, and the location is perfect! Waking up to such spectacular views out over Copacabana beach really made our trip, and being able to see Christ the Redeemer too was an added bonus.
So many bars and restaurants are right on your doorstep and a cheap Uber will take you anywhere else you want to go for just a few Rials.
We would highly recommend this condo to any visitors to Rio and will definitely stay here again when we're in Rio next (hopefully for Carnival one year!).

Definitely the place stay
This review is long overdue but we highly recommend the Tholen’s condo. Great location right on Copa Cabana within walking distance to Ipanema. The place is impeccably clean, spacey, modern with an amazing view of Copa Cabana and Christ the Redeemer statue. If questioning where to go, what to eat, what to do - there’s a binder full of detailed recommendations provided by the Tholen family with directions on how to get to. There is great communication and helpful tips with the Tholen family throughout our entire stay. Another plus is there is a doorman 24 hours. We have nothing but rave reviews with our stay and loved the accommodations. When we return to Brazil, we will definitely be booking the Tholen’s place.

Well located with great views!!
Comfortable, well equipped two bedroom with individual air conditioners in each room. Friendly, helpful staff at front desk and in the garage. Grocery stores and restaurants a short walk away. Half a block from the beach. Owners very accessible by text and phone and provided detailed information by email and posted in the property. Look forward to staying there again and recommend it to others.

Great apartment with fantastic view and very helpful owners
This is a modern, top-class apartment with a view to die for. As you look out of the huge windows, the full curve of Copacabana beach stretches to the left, while Christ the Redeemer looks down majestically from the right. The interior is modern, spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The apartment is on the top (14th) floor above the small Praca do Lido park, which is one of the departure points for vans up to the Corcovado. It's also very convenient for the Sugar Loaf, only a short tax-ride away, and for the metro into downtown. The neighbourhood is quite lively, with supermarkets and restaurants just around the corner, and feels entirely safe, day and night. The American owners, Steven and Deborah, were exceptionally friendly and helpful in giving valuable guidance, both before and during our stay.
The rental is not cheap but still much better value than any decent hotel in the neighbourhood, taking into account the space and amazing view.
We would love to come back one day!

Perfect spot in Copacabana!
The apartment is exactly, if not more, what is described here. Very spacious, well maintained, super clean and well equipped. You have everything a person could ask! The location is excellent and the view from the window on Copacabana beach is simply astonishing!
Hosts left me a lot of information, guides and tips to enjoy Rio at its best. Communication with them was always excellent and arranging for our arrival and departure was very hassle-free. The layout and location were perfect as you are right by beautiful Copacabana beach. The building is staffed 24 hours with very helpful doormen and the security people were super-friendly. I strongly recommend it to all those who want to visit Rio in a safe and comfortable way, not always practical when staying in hotels. Can't wait to return!

The location right on Copacabana Beach is ideal and safe! The building security is excellent.
Location, location, location! The condo is well furnished and exceptionally clean. But, the wonderful view and fabulous location are the highlights. We appreciated the complete kitchen and ability to use a washer and dryer as well. Checking in and out was as smooth as can be. Teresa was there to greet us as well as make arrangements for a taxi to get get us to the airport.
The owners were exceptionally good about providing instructions and personal recommendations. We followed their advice and had a fabulous vacation!
