About this cottage rental
Imagine a your own private mini villa. Now add in a grove of magnificent cedars as your landscape. For sounds only the occasional screech of an eagle as it sours high over head or perhaps the soothing rustle of the wind through the cedars. Your next door neighbor is a 250 acre park with walking trails leading down to one mile of secluded pacific beach. Impossible you say! Check out the pictures. One villa has a solarium downstairs and a deck upstairs as well as a beautiful gas fireplace to make the winter nights into a cozy intimate delight. The bedroom upstairs is luxurious, inviting, and romantic. Fabulous windows, yellow cedar paneling and wool area rugs. We only left one thing out. Noise. In this bedroom you will experience as close as you can get to pure silence. On a still night the silence is amazing. If there is a breeze then you get the wonderful rustle of the cedars. The kitchen is well set up for cooking with two high speed gas burners and a microwave. The newly renovated 'solarium' bathroom has an antique clawfoot tub and shower with continuous hot water so you never run out. The main floor has radiant heated floors. And we have recently added a concrete patio area.
The view from your cottage is a 250 acre park. You are in a totally private and serene space. Your beautifully appointed cottage has heated floors, an antique clawfoot tub and a private patio with a gas firepit. Note: Pets are allowed but there is a pet fee.
Your cottage is part of Lily Point Park Lodges. Five hand-crafted cottages, designed and built by your host. Each one totally unique. We have recently added a new space for our guests that we call the 'Spirit Lodge' (see the pictures). With the Spirit Lodge we have tried to create an indoor / outdoor space that you can use to relax and entertain in. It also features a infrared sauna where you can melt away any aches and pains.
If you're thinking of working remotely, Point Roberts could be the best choice. Point Roberts has some unique advantages. First and foremost you are in the United States AND you are only a few minutes away from one of the great international cites, Vancouver Canada. We are closer to downtown Vancouver BC than most of the suburbs of Vancouver. Where else can you find a world class nature experience virtually next door to an exciting foreign metropolis. And remember that the Canadian dollar is at an all time low against the US dollar. So you have all the excitement of Vancouver and also Whistler mountain with its amazing 36 gondolas and chairs (only 2.5 hours) away. And don’t forget Seattle, also only 2.5 hours away.
We also have a major regional shopping center (15 minutes drive). Our Canadian neighbor Tsawwassen (7 minutes drive) has over 50 good restaurants. Your cottage has its own internet high speed access point. We have had many guests working remotely over the last few years.
The Gingerbread cottage has been built as part of a 'micro resort' of cottages that are specifically designed to be a 'transformative experience'. You can expect a totally natural, absolutely quiet and serene environment and a cottage that lulls you into a sense of well being and relaxation. You will be delighted by all the little touches and details. You will be able to 'build a perfect balance' to your day by exploring the 250 acre park with lovely walking trails and secluded tidelands that is literally your next door neighbor. After only a few days you will feel relaxed and 'de-stressed' and ready to take on new challenges in your life.
We are about 30 minutes from Vancouver International Airport. We are also twenty minutes from one the terminals of the largest ferry system in the world at Tsawwassen BC. From there you can venture all the way up the northern pacific coast to Haida Gwaii, the legendary Island home of the Haida first nation
When you have that little slice of free time you want to make it as satisfying as possible. We want to help you have an experience that you can look forward to, experience to the fullest and then savor in your memory. An almost magical experience that gives you the chance to reset, and recharge. Get in touch with your inner balance.

It was a little gingerbread cottage with all that i needed for a time of rest and reflection. I had thought it was closer to the beach so that was the only disappointment.

Soul recharge
This was just what I needed to step back and recharge my spirit. A lovely space surrounded by nature and peace. The gingerbread cabin was just like the pictures. The extra blanket came in handy for the morning chill.
I wish my stay was longer. Next time I’ll know better.
My host was amazingly flexible with my checkout time. I really appreciated the extra time in this sweet space.

Great little getaway!
The cabin was really awesome and quaint! It was quite and clean and the perfect vacation cabin for 2 people! Will definitely stay again!

Perfect location for the Lily Point trails
The house was compact, but well equipped. The gas fire made the property very warm and welcoming. However, the best feature for us was that the Lily Point trails were 10 steps from our front door, something we and our dog really enjoyed. If you want to enjoy the great outdoors (forest & beach) without having to get into your car, check this out!

The Gingerbread House is a charming cabin that is perfect for wanting some time off the grid. It's equipped with the basic necessities for cooking a meal, like pasta. It's like camping without being miserable. You're not in a tent or RV camp ground with hundreds of other people, you have electricity, heat, indoor seating, wifi, a small but full sized bathroom, and a decent bed. It backs up to walking trails with beach access, which was a dream! Sunrise and sunset walks with my dogs were sublime. The Host is friendly and attentive. If you are looking for a place to hit the stress reset/pause button, this place is it.

We loved our time at the gingerbread cottage. The property was secluded (perfect for a getaway from the hustle and bustle) and close to trails that take you to the beach. The cottage was well designed and we especially loved the claw foot tub and loft master with a rooftop deck. Oh, and our 7 month old ridgeback puppy loved it as well!

We enjoyed our short stay in the Point Roberts Gingerbread House. The proximity to the forest trails can’t be beat and the forest was amazing. Salt Water cafe had great breakfasts! We’ll be back.

Had a great stay. Pat the owner was very hospitable. We were only slightly disappointed that the cabin wasn’t as private and secluded as we’d imagined it would be. Other cabins are in very close proximity.
All in all, lily point was beautiful. Peaceful and amazing scenery and viewpoints just beyond your back yard.

Charming, Clean, Tranquil
This tiny-house cabin is super cute. Living in such a small footprint has its quirks such as limited counter, storage and cooking space, however the owner has done a very nice job with it and we enjoyed our stay.
Point Roberts has a semi-wild and remote feel, yet entertainment and high rise buildings are minutes away. While convenient, the contrast between these two worlds can be simultaneously fascinating and a bit jarring. We appreciated the quiet forest oasis so close to the city.
Plenty of hot water, and I slept like a log on the very comfortable bed.

Pat's cottage provides superb access to a magical place, the Lily Point Marine Reserve. After hiking all through the said Reserve, a hot shower feels great and Pat's cottage has that in abundance. We enjoyed our stay there, even though we ended up staying in the wrong cottage- our mistake by not paying close attention to Pat's instructions. Luckily, Pat managed our mistake and we enjoyed our four days.

The gingerbread cottage was the perfect spot to get away from a busy life!
My wife and I stayed for our anniversary with our dog and it was super relaxing! The hiking trails were close by and the town of Pt Roberts is cute and quaint! I would highly recommend if you want some quite time in a naturally beautiful place!

Great little cottage
We used this cottage as overflow sleeping for a wedding on Point Roberts and it was perfect! We also used it as a get-away for the Bride & Groom from the hustle and bustle.
Thanks again!

This is a second time we stayed at Lily Point and loved every minute of it! The place is majestic and the owner is very supportive in any possible matters. Looking forward to return again!

Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing
We stayed for three nights in Gingerbread cottage which was absolutely charming and very comfortable.
We had just completed a seven week Motorhome trip from San Francisco in a quite small vehicle. The stay at the cottage was our treat to ourselves before we flew home to the UK. And what a treat to stay in such beautiful surroundings with a lovely big comfortable bed. The bedroom in particular was amazing with big skylights and windows. Lying in bed at night gazing at the tree tops and the occasional glimpse of sky and stars was, as I think Americans often say, truly awesome There was even a double patio door to an upstairs terrace. Whilst sitting on the patio on our first evening a bald eagle flew within about ten feet of us to settle in a branch alongside the cottage. That was a wonderful moment for us and We felt privileged to have seen it.
We walked several of the trails, one day taking the one to the beach which was quite challenging for two pensioners but well worth the effort.
Another day we walked the 2.5 miles to the restaurant at the marina and enjoyed a great meal.
All in all our stay at Gingerbread Cottage finished off our trip perfectly. May even come back again for a longer stay.
Thank you to all that make this a special place.

Beautiful and quiet, very peaceful.
I really enjoyed my stay at Lily Point. The only thing lacking was some linens. There were no washcloths or bathmat in the bathroom. I will definitely make this trip again and will stay again.

Cute, peaceful wood cabin in the woods.
Great location. Super cute house with enough space for 2 people. Very peaceful in amongst the trees. There was a great trail that backed the property, leading down to the Lily Point Park. We enjoyed the electric fireplace and the coziness of the cabin. The cabin was as expected, and it was tidy. It could have used a bit of a deeper clean however, that would be our only feedback; We felt like we needed to wash the dishes prior to using them, and the bathroom could have used a clean. The clawfoot tub was neat. Pat checked in with us while we were onsite, and he was friendly. The cabin was easy to find, and we appreciated the "user manual" that was waiting for us when we arrived. Thanks for the surprise chocolates on our bed! We enjoyed living in a cozy space for a weekend, checking out the sights in Point Roberts, aka "Little America".

A lovely stay in the woods..
I arrived a little after dark to the fire going ... got the dogs and car unpacked... very comfy bed — I had my own pillow... trails were easily accessible from the cottage and we were out and about on them and the park beaches everyday... unfortunately not much open in the area — off season, but this looks like it would be great in the summer! Saw lots of birds, a bald eagle feasting by the water, and a sea lion swimming about... a very quiet and restful time.. cottage had everything we needed..

Relaxing and charming!
This stay was incredible. We had two people and a dog for a 3-night stay. The property is beautiful and unique. It was a fantastic experience to sit in front of the fireplace indoors and read. This was the closest you can get to being in the woods while still having a fantastic bathroom, heated floors, a kitchen with a propane stove, and the most comfortable bed you can imagine. There are windows over the bed that show the trees. Each morning we woke up to rain and saw maginificent cedar trees, and we heard eagles chatting above us. Over the course of a 3 day stay, we saw over 8 bald eagles. Absolutely incredible experience. We also took our dog down to the beach each day, which was a lovely short hike. We took a short drive up to Vancouver, BC and had a delicious dinner. I would come back or recommend this place to anyone.

Cute, cozy and had everything we needed!
Great location a short walk away from a beautiful beach. The cabin heats up quickly and is the perfect size for a weekend getaway for two.

I don't think I'm picky, just have two requirements really, clean and secure, it was neither. I was pretty disappointed, but I didn't want to write a negative review until I read the previous reviews about the same issues I had, and it's been going on along time. Now I am convinced the homeowner's are lazy and don't care about the guests. The cobwebs and dirt that is everywhere have been there along time. The front door handle that falls off when you open the door has been in need of repair for along time. How about a deadbolt? The bathroom toilet and behind were disgusting. The place in a shabin (shed/cabin), in need of a deep clean and some tlc.

Beautiful setting in the woods. Charming cottage and quiet ! Great to be able to do our own cooking onsite. Enjoyed having the hiking trail to the beach right behind the cabins. Friendly folks and great weather. We hope to return very soon. Loved the bathtub and the sinks, and of course the stained glass windows. We came for one night but ended up staying for two.

We booked the Serenity cottage for our trip to Point Roberts. The design of the cottage is great, proximity to Lily Point Marine Park wonderful--and Pat was very helpful thru the reservation process. That is where the praises end. We had read about cobwebs and cleanliness issues--so came with cleaning wipes "just in case". We were greeted by a large black ant in the BR--and one crawling along the clawfoot tub. Then began really looking around--and things were downright dirty. Stove had dust and food spills--microwave covered with fingerprints and food crumbs and spills inside. Oven had burned on food inside. Bath sink had toothpaste stuck to the tile surround. Tub was "greasy" and had debris in it. And no cleaning supplies anywhere--so used the cleaning wipes we brought and my bath salts as scrub to go over the place. As we cleaned we continued to kill more and more ants--EVERYWHERE--even one crawling our of the French press when we went to make coffee!! By morning--when we awoke to find an ant crawling along the top of the bed--and 2 more heading down the wall toward our pillows--we'd had enough. Packed up and left--even though we had booked for 3 nights. Pat has some major issues regarding the ant problem--but using the excuse of "living in the forest" has nothing to do with the condition we found the cabin in. It's just laziness. Cleaning takes effort--that's all. The cottage is very nice--and it's sad that more attention to guests comfort is not addressed. Anyone reserving would be smart to ask about these issues in advance.

Great location. Pet friendly. Quaint.

Pat graciously accommodated us with no notice. We were welcomed by a lit fireplace and a warm handshake.
The cottage met all of our needs, even if the shower/toilet was a little different...the water was warm. For those grumps who complained about a few cobwebs: I guess they just don't realise the challenge of living in the forest. They add to the charm and trap the mozzies!
We enjoyed the chimnea whilst playing backgammon, and Pat even entertained us with his colorful outbursts of joyful emotion whilst he built his other cabin. Made us feel normal.
Great price point. Fabulous trail to Lily Point. Great bird life.
We will be back. Next time, Lesley...we challenge you to a game of backgammon! Bring Pat, if he aint still workin' on Gingerbread 2.

Having grown up in a 3rd world country I was shocked that this was worse than any place we ever stayed at in said country. I didn't expect 5 star hotel clean but I didn't expect cobwebs on the ceilings or a bathroom that barely fit my shoulders in a (estimated) 2.5 foot by 5 foot shower/toilet. I also didn't expect to have to brush my teeth in the kitchen sink or to have to shave blindly in said sink without a mirror. No toilet paper was just the finishing touch. I chose not to shower and just left to stay at a hotel in Canada. I really don't expect much in a cottage on Point Roberts but this didn't even meet my much reduced expectation.
4.3
Everything is as described, and the owner thoughtfully includes things like towels for showers, and a French press for making coffee. The best part of our stay was the amazing hiking trails to the beach that left from our front door. So many eagles! The restaurant at the marina is delicious if you don't want to cook. I wish the water had been a bit hotter, but there was plenty of it. Comfy and cozy. We brought our three small dogs and the little cabin fit us just fine. That couch in the living room could be replaced with a sturdier sofa bed as it wasn't so comfy for reading while sitting. I am sure the place is glorious in the summer, but it was perfectly peaceful and wonderful for us in December.

My boyfriend and I went to teh Gingerbread Cottage for a Pre-Christmas getaway as we wern't going to be able to spend the Holidays together. This adorable cozy little cottage was the perfect quiet time alone together cuddled up on the couch and making meals together. We probably went on the coldest weekend so far this winter season so my only suggestion is if you tend to get cold like me be sure to bring warm socks or slippers! Great trails and seclusion from the hustle bustle of every day life, other reviews mentioned christmas decorations which would have been nice but didn't deter us from making a gingerbread house and having some rum and egg nog. Overall had a really nice time, thank you for allowing others to enjoy Point Roberts.

Thanks for a wonderful stay in your cottage. We enjoyed the Lily Point Trails and beach and were greeted by six bald eagles!. I was a perfect start to our vacation.. I think we managed to explore every nook and cranny of Pt. Roberts and hope to be back again.
