Grandchildren had a great time fishing right off the deck many smiles on my 4 year old grandsons first experience catching a fish and my 8 year old catching the biggest fish a large mouth bass. My three granddaughters all caught fish as well.

The property was great. Lots of fishing. Will recommend.

The house needed some improvements in my opinion. bathroom near the kitchen was dirty, and the toilet tissue was on the floor instead of on the roller. When I picked it up it had a brown substance smeared on it. The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows were small; I went home with a stiff neck and back as a result. The jacuzzi was dirty with sand on the bottom. It couldn't be used. It was very expensive, I could've stayed at the Grand Floridian resort in Walt DIsney World or gone to Mackinac Island in Michigan and stayed at the Grand Hotel for the same price and been more comfortable. I was surprised that there were no TV's in the bedrooms, and if you had to go to the restroom at night if you put the light on, it disturbed the other folks in the other bedrooms. The TV in the loft was useable, but I discovered when I chose a movie, that is the movie I was stuck with for my whole stay; the remote control may need new batteries. My daughter (30 F) said that the decor was early American garage sale and that the house looked like a great spot for young folks to go and party. The equipment available to use if you swam in the lake was substandard and we wouldn't use it.

We had a great time at this property with the entire family, from kids (7, 10), to grandparents, and even our dog! The property itself had plenty of fun for everyone, our kids especially enjoyed fishing off the deck then hop onto the pond on the paddle board.
Greg checked in with us often, and the house had everything we need. It was also conveniently located to within 15 min drive of Hocking Hills park and a grocery store. Highly recommend for any families looking in the area!

Greg's property was absolutely perfect for our family getaway! Everyone enjoyed the outdoor deck overlooking the water. There were so many activities for all to enjoy - paddle boarding, fishing, cornhole, sitting by the firepit at night, and much more. We had an issue with the coffee maker not working and Greg kindly sent a new coffee maker via Amazon that was delivered the next day! Amazing memories were made here and we are very grateful.

We just stayed at the property with 2 teenagers. The property was beautiful and very private. The house worked well for the 4 of us and the lakes were calm and beautiful. The boys enjoyed fishing the lake, building fires and hiking through the woods. It's close to Lake Logan where we rented a boat for one of the days. We never made it to the caves but will do that next trip. The whole experieince was very relaxing and enjoyable.

This is a very nice property with tons of room to spread out, inside and out. Very private with lots to do on the property & close to the state park and tourist places. Our teenage boys were in the pond everyday: swimming, boating and paddle boarding. The fishing was great! I wish more wildlife came around, but the bullfrogs were very fun every night! And there seems to be a blue heron that lives by the pond! There are a ton of trails on the property! We didn't use the hot tub because it was oppressively hot that week, but it looks nice and well kept. The only downside is the ticks, such is nature! In every place we've ever stayed in HH, we've had to deal with them. You just have to be vigilant! Really great vacation!

We stayed 4 days/3 nights. 4 adults, 3 toddlers, and an infant, could anything go wrong? Sure it could have BUT IT DID NOT! We could have also brought our 90 year old grandpa. There is stuff for all ages and no shortage of fun and privacy! Would absolutely consider doing this trip again when the kids are older. The owner Greg is awesome and responds quickly to needs and questions. Lots of life long memories were created!

Wonderful property that fit our needs perfectly. The guys loved the fishing and everyone enjoyed the paddle boards and row boat on the pond. Loved the deck and fire pit area.

We had family of 6 with ages from 5-81 years and one very old weiner dog. Fishing was amazing. There are some really large bass in the pond but you have to give them what they want. Our lips are sealed so good luck! Spent most of the time on the deck as it is so peaceful. Heard my first deer snort and it isn't what you would expect. My hubby is a life long hunter so he knew. Otherwise, I would have been thinking Bigfoot lived on that property. LOL. Whippoorwills are also new to the fam. Birds at night that aren't owls? Yep. We had more than enough room and it feels welcoming from the get go. So many trails to hike and things to see it would take multiple trips to see it all. Don't get me started on the quaint little stores or the Sasquatch festival. Will probably head back this way in the fall.

This is a remote piece of paradise that is all self contained for fun and entertaining. The cleanliness and quality cannot be overstated. Everything was perfect and the best stocked kitchen we have ever seen….. if you like to cook, this is the place to stay.
This was our family’s mini reunion for my adult kids and everyone had something to do(walks, fishing, paddle boarding, hot tub (which was extremely clean), movie center, fire ring, cards, board games, billiards, and the list goes on. Beds were great and rooms were quiet. The bunkroom is nice if you have a bunch of people. Kitchen is the best and the outdoor deck is large and inviting as it looks over the pond in the woods.
We stay at VRBO properties all the time, and this property was the best we have ever stayed at. Great value for your money. This property is a family’s 2nd generation private second home and it shows with the love and care they put into it. If you are looking for a very private getaway that has everything, yet close to hocking hills and old man’s cave, you definitely will not be disappointed.
Communication with the owner and property manager was outstanding. Easy check-in. Thanks for sharing your home with our family. Hopefully I can get my kids back home from out of state and we can rent again. Thanks, Bill and Sue.

This property was fantastic. 1st night we stayed in and entertained ourselves with the home stereo system, pool table, and fresh air as every window in the house is easy to open and close. Then we woke on day 2, prepared an amazing breakfast in the perfectly situated kitchen. Off to the ponds on the property for fishing and we caught several bluegills and 1 bass. The fire pit was great as well. We brought our own firewood from the Kroger (30 mins away). Between the home stereo, kitchen, fishing, hot tub, and fire pit, it turned out to be one of the most relaxing weekends we've ever had. Very quiet, secluded, and quaint. Will most definitely be back again, so leave some fish in the pond for us!!!

We spent our spring break at this cabin. It was the perfect size for our group with plenty to do on the property. The pond is beautiful and the kitchen was really well stocked for a rental. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

This property provided excellent access to the state parks and amenities. Was a clean and inviting property. Excellent.

This place is amazing. Super clean, very private and has everything you need. The rooms are big and there is plenty of space for everyone. We knew it might rain the weekend we went so i wanted a property where we could be indoors if we had to and still enjoy ourselves and this house overdelivered. Thankfully we had sunshine as well and we were able to enjoy the huge deck and my niece even caught 10 fish in the pond right outside so i'd give this place 10/10 for a multiple day/night vacation.

Awesome property. Well appointed and fun house. We loved our stay! Property owner was very responsive with any questions.

This property was a great stay for our extend family and friends spring break getaway. The teens and kids loved the pond with paddle boards and rowboat. The deck is the perfect place to enjoy a quiet afternoon. We appreciated the large gas grill, fire pit, hot tub, and pool table. All the amenities we needed to wind down after days hiking in Hocking Hills.

This rental is as described. So spacious with all the amenities. Will definitely look to book again if we decide to go to Hocking Hills again.

We brought two boys, 4 and 6 who absolutely loved the cabin and property. It was very clean and had plenty of extra supplies for some random things we had forgotten. Host answered quickly when we had an issue!

Our biking club had our annual retreat at this place and it was perfect. We took advantage of the location and biking in the Hocking Hills was amazing (we did 50-mile rides three days in a row. We also enjoyed the gas grill, fire pit, hot tub, and lots of pool. We even caught a couple of fish with a lure. The house is well-stocked with everything you need (including coffee), the beds were comfortable, and it was very clean.
We loved it so much that we will do our bike retreat next year at the same place.

Great spot to unwind and relax, the property and the house are amazing. We will be back again soon.

This property is beautiful and true to the listing! Our family of 6 and 2 dogs had plenty of room to relax and enjoy the indoors and outdoors. There was plenty of activities provided and the hot tub was huge and a great way to end the chilly evenings. There are several trails to hike but we opted to stay around the house and pond as the ticks were very bad, but that's to be expected in such a remote location. We still thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful property and scenery and everyone had a great time and we are hoping to have the opportunity to come back in the future! Definitely worth every penny! We also visited Laurelville just a few minutes down the road and that whole town welcomed us with the nicest people!

This is the second property of Red Oak Retreats that we have stayed at now. The house was very nice. A lot of cabins/ houses that you rent dont have enough living space for the amount of people they sleep, but this house had tons of living space. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware and even had most the spices you would need to cook a meal.
The only complaint we had was that the beds were lacking in the pillow and blanet department. All the beds had 1 small/ flat pillow.

We had a lovely time here! The property is beautiful. We loved the games and relaxing in the hot tub.

We just spent 3 nights at this home and had a wonderful time! Grandparents, Children, Grandchildren and 2 dogs. The description of VRBO didn't really due it justice. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could ever need. The house was clean when we arrived and there were so many little "spaces" to sit, read, play games or play pool. Everyone had a great time. We all talked about going back in the summer to enjoy the huge deck.!! Thank you so much for having such a wonderful place at a reasonable price. We hope to return!! 9 of us between 3 and 80 and our dog stayed at this home over the weekend. Very nice home with lots of great amenities! The property was clean, big, easy to get too and had a neat story behind it. Though we didnt catch any fish the ponds were nice and the paddle boards were fun. The home itself was close to hiking and had everything from games to spices and even extra coffee and TP! Beds were comfy and really enjoyed the arrangement, earlier risers or late nighters could be up enjoying themselves while not waking others. Only two minor things I'd recommended is to get a Tv in the loft(not that we watched much tv but would have been nice to have 2 for when it rained) and to move the creepy silver Nissan truck. Kind of spooked some while there. Thanks so much! Best all around place weve stayed over 4 trips to the hocking area. Would book again!

We absolutely loved your space. You supplied 98% of what we needed. Your communication was superb. We enjoyed reading your store and thank you for sharing it with us. The only thing that I would suggest is some sort of reflector system when heading toward the pond. I had visions of guest driving right into it 😱. But I rate our stay 10/10

This house was absolutely perfect for our fall trip. We hiked, fished, had a fire and took the boat out on the pond. The house had everything that we needed. It is at the end of a lane and is very secluded which was perfect for us. Our girls were able to learn how to split fire wood. I would highly recommend this house to anyone who just wants to get away. There is no cell phone service so make sure you screenshot or memorize the code before getting to the house. We didnt have any issues with wifi while we were there.

Location and the seclusion of property was great, lots of amenities. There are some cleaning and maintenance issues that I informed thw property management about. Although one does not go to watch TV, more than 1 would be nice!

it was a fun filled weekend and we enjoyed staying at the house. The two bathrooms became an issue in the morning but we worked around that. Thought the kitchen was extremely well equipped.

What an amazing property! Everything was perfect for our anniversary get away. Beautiful clean house and the privacy can’t be beat. Would love to come back and stay longer. Thanks for letting us enjoy your property!!

Yearly trip with friends from high school. We enjoyed the property and the house. Well stocked pantry of spices for cooking and plenty of cooking utensils.
The house and property are very nice and well cared for. Could've used a few more towels, there were none in the bin marked "towels for hot tub". The owner and property manager kept in touch and asked how things were through out the trip. All in all we had a great time and may consider visiting this property again.
