Family Fun
We loved the view, atmosphere and cabin. We were told there would be wood for a fire but couldn't locate. In a few of the rooms the bedding was dirty and beverages from other renters under the couch, so cleanliness not great for renters paying a fee to have the cabin cleaned. Not a big enough garbage can outside for large groups and the beds are so uncomfortable and chair that is broken needs to be replaced. There wasn't any bed or couch to get comfortable, but it is a beautiful cabin and we had fun. Thank you

Great place
This place was fantastic. Loved the view . Old unique house. It had everything you could possibly need. Close to town and the long bridge. We absolutely loved it. I’ll be back

Sibling reunion Gropp
I love the location and the house. Several things I wish would would be upgraded one is the beds, rustic only goes so far, queen beds would be very nice. The refrigerator does not work right, the technician was nice that came out was nice however it still not freezing well. Not to be too critical of the housekeeping folks a lot of dust on the hard to reach areas. With that being said I love this place and the town I was raised in. I will rent again this is the second time here.

character house
House had a lot of character with its age, antiques, books but too much furniture taking space and no bed bigger than a double...hard for two people to sleep together. Accuracy of online listing...very difficult for 8 adults to sleep there comfortably. Beautiful lake location but the dock needs improvement to allow for safe swimming. If the dock was extended past the underwater rocks and had better ladder access to the water (steps were hot to the touch, uneven and hidden under the dock) it would be an amenity to the house rental, like the house adjacent. The abundance of cookware in the kitchen needs to be purged. Beautiful location and quiet.

Lovely cabin for a family
We rented this cabin for a family getaway and it was perfect for our family of 5. Very convenient location for going to Sandpoint and having a home base to explore Lake Pend Oreille from. There were no actual swings on the playground pictured in the yard but the dock and deck were enough to entertain the kids outside. Nice views from the bedrooms facing the water.

Cozy adorable cabin!!
My husband and I spent valentines weekend at this little gem, and it was so cozy and relaxing it was just perfect! View was awesome, crazy to see Lake Ponderay completely frozen over! Plenty of space for everyone and that bath tub was awesome! We will be back there for sure!

Wind Storm ruined our Monday
A wind storm started at 8am, Monday, September 7th. Power went out. Tree came down pulling power lines with it. Dock broke and floated away. We evacuated immediately then returned around 1pm to gather our belongings. We did not stay at the cabin on Monday night. There was no power and electrical lines were still down when we left at 230pm.

Lake get away
We had a nice time and the place is exactly as it looks. I wish the owners would create a little beach spot so the family could sit down at the water. Other than that it was great

Looks Charming but...
Our stay started with removal of a live bat in the bathroom, followed up by washing sheets and bedding prior to use d/t dirty linens. We nestled into bed for a good night sleep to be left restless because of prison mattresses and uneven floor boards. The location was easy to find and convenient to Sandpoint. Kitchen well stocked. The house is clearly old and has charm, with a little more love it could be an amazing place.

Frustrating
It was as if the house was not spring cleaned. Old musty smell, dusty sheets and pillow cases. Mouse poop in cooking pots and pans. We spent the first couple hours cleaning, opening windows, and doing laundry. After that this house was fine. Close to town, great spot on the lake, secluded patio. However there was no patio furniture or grill as advertised. Lots of space in the house and yard to accommodate many people. Although more than one car/ truck would make parking difficult. Also the mouse did not go away, but never got into our food. Wish we could get our cleaning fees back seeing as we had to do it ourselves.

Quaint getaway
This home is charming and the kitchen is well furnished, making you feel right at home. The house itself is fine for relaxing, but parking is an issue if you have larger vehicles. There is no boat trailer parking and the dock needs updating. Would be difficult for young families to enjoy the water with the dock and bank in their current condition.

Great peaceful getaway
We loved the cozy homey feel! It was a perfect home away from home. Great location, well stocked amenities, and very spacious. It's a rustic place but offers all the modern amenities. Will definitely stay again when we’re in the area.

Eclectic Charm on the Lake
A charming old cabin with all of the modern conveniences. Wonderful location on the lake and close to Sandpoint. We especially loved the deck over-looking the lake and the dock where we watched the sun set. This place is perfect for a family. We are looking forward to our next visit and bringing our family.

Too Expensive for a Rustic Cabin
Pros: Convenient location to Sandpoint. On the water. Sunset view from dock. Two kayaks, two paddle boards, and one canoe were a great bonus. BBQ grill provided. Well stocked kitchen. Email notification of early check-in availability was awesome. Multiple family rooms nice for large groups.
Cons: Lots of tiny bugs in house windows sills and under anywhere there's a light, including some bed pillows. Musty smell in east rooms of house. Uncomfortable living room furniture and kitchen chairs. Living room recliner broken. 4 Full sized beds (not 2 queens as advertised) small for two people. No beach area, only small dock access, which could use modernization (like a ladder). Stairs to dock lack handrail. No cleared beach area like similar properties nearby. Priced way too high for condition of cabin.

Great location
My family of 6 stayed the weekend at the Mackinaw Getaway in Sagle. It was nice being right on the water and yet close to Sandpoint for all the great restaurants. Place is RUSTIC including the beds but would not deter me from staying again.

Not worth the money
We were 4 adults and 4 kids spending 3 days and 2 nights in the area. Beds were uncomfortably hard and springy, not big enough for two full sized adults. There were bugs everywhere in/out of the house due to the over grown foliage on property and dead bugs left in window sills, kitchen & bath counters throughout the property. Dock was not even big enough to have all of our party out there to enjoy at the same time. Major updates need to be made before we would even consider returning: widening of dock, clearing the over grown foliage everywhere to reduce pests and open up the property by the water to create a waterfront beach type sitting area like all the neighbors have done. Outdoor patio furniture was a dirty white plastic table and 6 chairs and there were not enough for our party of 8. Lounge chairs to enjoy the view and more comfortable seating would have been a nice touch along with a larger BBQ and some bug repelling apparatus. Noise from highway bridge and train was annoying after a while- we noticed it did not slow down during the night either. The so called film library listed was roughly 5 DVD videos in total and not a single title was recognizable - not to mention the TV satellite didn’t even work when the kids just wanted to relax. No board games either. The space of the house was great and the kitchen items provided were almost sufficient - however only a single set of 8 forks was available- so we were constantly washing silverware for the next meal coming. The garbage can in kitchen is not big enough for larger parties and outdoor BBQ was not either. You could not cook dinner for 8 ppl on the grill
(Burgers/hotdogs/chicken) there was no room for more than 4 burgers and a few chicken breasts at a time. Overall, not worth The high price for the two nights- would rather spend the extra $$ for an alternate location next time.

Wonderful cozy cabin very close to Sandpoint
The house is very cute and clean and was spacious enough for all 8 guests. There is not a large beach area and the dock needs to be replaced. There is a wonderful large deck with a barbeque and beautiful view. We had a wonderful time staying at this cabin and would definitely stay there again. I recommend the rental.

Nice place well equipped right on the beautiful lake close to town. I would love to stay all summer.
First of all I would stay again. Checking in was flawless. The house is nice and the Sandpoint area is indescribable with its beauty. If I could and wish the owners do is fix the tiny dock or at least repair the one that is there and put in queen sized beds. and add one more parking space. Thank you for making this available our stay was A number 1.
