We throughly enjoyed staying here. The house we better equipped that any 5 star hotel I’ve stayed at. It sure made the stay even better. Great private back yard with fire pit. Large deck was perfect for afternoon visiting with each other. Even had a family ping pong tournament.
The house was bright and very comfortable. Perfect size for the 5 of us. Thank you!

Light beachy cottage is in a great location, on a quiet dead end street. Large comfortable beds and all the thoughtful touches throughout. The only thing we might suggest to add is a small portable fan for the queen bedroom.

My wife, 2 dogs and I stayed here for 4 days and 4 nights. The host was great at getting us settled in, then we never had need to touch base after. Instructions were clear, the place was as described, and the whole stay was perfect. Dogs loved running around out back. We did a fire one night, which was really relaxing.
The area was very conveniently located. 20 to 25 minutes got you to anything you might want to do, with a few nice breweries and restaurants within 7 minutes.
We did some hiking, each day, and never repeated a route during our time.
The dunes amd the "dog beach" arent really that useful for dogs to run around because they wont let dogs be off leash. So not a knock on this stay at all, more a note for those looking in the area.
To end back on the place, it was a perfect stay, amd we would definitely recommend it.

Great location, private, excellent communication/responsiveness, comfortable, welcoming, and attractive mix of cozy and modern. Loved having the big table to gather around and close access to the beach. Enjoyed the Sawyer Garden Center and the recommendation of Black Currant Bakehouse for our celebratory cake -- delicious! Thank you, Carla & Andrew!

Such a great cottage! Ample space for 5 adults & 2 dogs. We enjoyed the deck (west facing), fire pit, ping pong table in garage, the digital vinyl record player & records. There was plenty of utensils & cooking supplies too. Warren Dunes was <1 mile away & the local vineyards were a short distance. Can’t wait to come back again

We went for a short family vacation with our two pups. Great home. Lots of natural light. Big yard and lead for the dogs. Quiet area within walking distance of Warren dunes. Owner was very responsive to all our questions.

Our 4th year staying at the property and it's just as fun as the first. Terrific location provides a sense of calm even while being close to all the great local attractions. Property is clean, well appointed, and communication is always great.

My family and I wanted to get away and just enjoy some time together and this was the perfect place! The house was perfect, the yard was wonderful for the kids to roam and for us to enjoy the sunshine. It was nice neighborhood, and with it being a dead end road, we didn’t have to worry all that much about traffic. This will be a vacation we will be able to talk about for a long time and the memories are endless. Carla was quick to reply when messaged and she made sure any questions were answered!

Everything about our stay was excellent. We loved the decor, retro games and turntable with 70s and 80s records. The beds were comfortable and the living area was cozy with the fireplace. Having two bathrooms available to get ready for our son’s wedding was a huge plus. The bathroom off of the master bedroom has a great shower and the other one has a jet tub. Our dogs also enjoyed it :)
We would definitely stay again!

We loved Carla’s sweet cottage! Great location, wonderful large yard, nice large deck. Beautiful bathrooms, very comfortable beds and sweet touches throughout the home.
Carl is a great host and we will definitely be back. Also, our dog had the time of his life! We all enjoyed Warren Dunes as well as close by nature preserves. Highly recommend this cottage!

The house so perfect for our family. It was larger than it looked in the photos with a beautiful large yard. And very close to Warren Dunes. House was clean, very well stocked and so homey! We were very comfortable and had no issues with anything. Beds were very comfy and kitchen had everything we needed. Everything was great and we would for sure rent again!

Perfect vacation home!
My husband, teen daughter, and our dog vacationed in this updated and modern home over the July 4th week. The home was clean, beautifully decorated, and 5 minutes away from Warren Dunes. We are beach people, so we visited different beaches in the area. Our favorite beach was Weko Beach which was a 10 minute drive north. We dined out on most nights in New Buffalo which is a 15 minute drive south of Sawyer. Our favorite restaurants were Bentwood Tavern, The Stray Dog, and Brewster’s Italian Cafe. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone who appreciates a clean aesthetically pleasing home away from home!!

Beautiful home and fabulous location
We loved our stay and were sad to leave! The house itself was clean, well-maintained, and spacious. You could tell the owners put a lot of thought into decorating each room. The deck was the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee each morning and the kids had so much fun running around the huge backyard. We appreciated the large supply of bath towels, kitchen utensils, and even entertainment (cards & board games). The house is just a few minutes away from an incredible ice cream shop, farmers market, and of course, Warren Dunes State Park.
We hope to return in the future!

Cozy property close to Warren dunes beach
This is our first time renting a vacation home anywhere. We loved the photos of the property and they were exactly the same in person. Since this house is located very close to the Warren dunes state park, it took less than 5 minutes to get there. The nearest big grocery store is Meijer’s which is located in Bridgman (15 minutes away).
The decor and furnishings were very good, kitchen was well stocked with all pots and pans, condiments, silverware and plates and bowls. There were plenty of bath towels and we were able to make good use of the washer & dryer everyday for towels and our clothes.
Though the rooms were small, they had king sized beds in two rooms and a queen in the third. The bathrooms were good sized with plenty of natural light coming through the windows and skylight.
The yard is pretty big with many trees providing good shade during the day and ample space to park multiple vehicles in the garage pad.
Though this house is great, there were a few pain points for us with this house.
1. The biggest one being the cleaning which was a big disappointment. There was a lot of pet hair on the floors, dining chairs (fabric), bed pillows and everywhere. I’m not saying pets shouldn’t be allowed but since all guests are charged for cleaning, this should be cleaned before the next guest checks-in. We had to cover the dining chairs and bed pillows with bath towels to prevent the dog hair from sticking to our clothes. The floors were full of pet hair as well and I eventually vacuumed the whole house which took only 20 minutes but got rid of all the hair; this tells me the floors were not even cleaned by the cleaner.
2. The front door locks didn’t work properly; though we didn’t use them during our stay, we had a hard time getting that door to lock and had to use the chain to prevent it from opening from the outside.
3. Not a pain point, but since the house is very old, the wood siding in the exterior is pretty old and has holes from carpenter bees.
The cleanliness issue was communicated to the owner/host who offered to have the cleaners come back, but it was a bit too late as all the basic cleaning should be done before guests arrive, not after they check-in.
Overall, we loved staying here; had the house been cleaned, I would’ve given it a five star rating.

Sunny Stay
I've been renting houses in Berrien County through VRBO and other sites for about ten years and this was the best rental so far.

Great Location and Nice Home But...
I really hate to rate this property down because it really is a cute home, the yard is great and the location is perfect. The owner was easy to communicate with. The house however, wasn't clean. I called the owner and she came by on my 2nd day to do some cleaning, but seeing that all properties charge a cleaning fee, it makes no sense that a property could be this bad. If it'd been clean, I would possibly give it a 5, but a 4 for sure. It's obvious that this house hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in a very long time.

A cozy and comfortable house with nice decor.
Our family of 6 adults, 2 kids and one infant stayed here! It was a little tight, but we didn't mind! Everyone had a bed. Lovely decor. Pretty much everything we needed was there! Nice bathrooms and stocked kitchen. Plenty of things to do near property. Loved all the plants in the living room and attention to detail.

Love this modern house
We really enjoyed our stay. The second night we were there, we experienced a storm and lost power for 35 hours. The owners were very responsive and we got through it! Had a great time and drove around to other places to hang. The beaches were nice as well. Enjoyed our stay very much!

Fantastic vacation getaway!
Our family had a wonderful time and absolutely loved the rental! The house was clean, well stocked, and very comfortable. The house had everything we could need and Carla was very responsive while planning our trip. The yard was so lovely and we had a fun time by the fire pit and playing croquet and ping pong. We also really enjoyed the jacuzzi tub! We hope to return very soon!

Wonderful place
This was a great place to stay. We stayed there for a week in July with 4 adults. Had enough room that we weren't on top of each other. Nice backyard with fire pit. Easy to get to Warren Dunes park and beach. Easy walk to fruit stand and ice cream place. This place was stocked with everything you could need; spices, pots and pans, condiments, paper goods, soaps, etc. Gas grill worked fine. Probably one of the best VRBO places I have stayed at.

Another great experience
Our second visit was just as wonderful as the first for our family of four. The location is excellent, close to beaches, restaurants, and markets but tucked away on a side street that feels quiet and secluded. Check-in is a breeze, with a welcome packet that explains everything and hosts that are quick to respond if something does come up. The house itself is lovely, bathrooms had been updated since our last visit while everything else had been nicely kept up. We stayed two weeks and could have stayed two more, can't recommend this enough

Thanksgiving Weekend 2020
My husband and I were joined by our adult daughter for a getaway from Madison and Chicago. The amount of space was just right and the living area and kitchen were quite comfortable. The “Fixer Upper” touches were delightful as we are fans of Chip and Joanna. We were grateful to be able to take the dogs with us. We spent time hiking on the dunes, just five minutes away and loved visiting the Sawyer Home and Garden Center.

Cozy house near Warren Dunes
My family needed a month-long getaway from Chicago during the pandemic, and this was the perfect arrangement: 3 bedroom, 2 bath, great skylights, spacious deck with gas grill, backyard, and fire pit. Close to Warren Dunes, great restaurants in downtown Sawyer, Bridgman, 3 Oaks, and St Joseph. A flock of wild turkeys would cross the front yard on a regular basis. Overall super experience - we hope to return some time in the future! Thanks, Carla!

Cute place and location
Cute house with great location for enjoying Warren Dunes, Grand Mere State Park, Warren Woods and the rest of Harbor Country! We would rent this house again. The house has all of the amenities one could need. We enjoyed a much needed break from work and pandemic life. We visited and would recommend several dog friendly establishments nearby including Watermark Brewing Company, Round Barn winery and Hickory Creek Winery.

A perfect Sawyer retreat
Can’t say enough about our time at Carla and Andrew’s place in Sawyer. Their home is cozy, generously stocked, and so well decorated. The deck and huge backyard were our favorite afternoon spot. The kids had the freedom to run and play and explore the backyard on the days we weren’t exploring Sawyer and beyond. We spent each night roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. You guys have such a gem in Sawyer. We hated to leave and hope to come back soon!

A Perfect Getaway
This house was perfect for our family of six adults and three dogs. The inside has an open concept design and is very comfortable. We loved the privacy of a big backyard including a deck and a firepit. The owners provided detailed information about everything and a few welcome goodies.

Wonderful family retreat
Our family of four (plus a dog) stayed two weeks and no one was ready to leave. Perfect spot for a relaxing, family vacation that was pleasantly secluded while still only minutes from the beach and restaurants. The house itself was very clean, bright, and well stocked. The large yard and fire pit were perfect for late summer evenings. Quick drive or bike ride to the beaches in Warren Dunes and easy access to restaurants in Sawyer, Three Oaks, or Union Pier. Owners were very responsive and everything was as described. Highly recommend.
