About this apartment rental
Introducing Blue Crab BH107! This condo located on the 3rd floor with no elevator access, offers an open-concept living area provides enough space for your family to sit & relax together. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. The primary bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has two twins over full bunk beds. There a two full baths, one in each bedroom. Oh, did I mention the sunrises are amazing! Nestled in the golden dunes of Mustang Island, Beachhead condos all have awesome gulf views. The complex amenities include a heated swimming pool, community charcoal grills, community game room, a playground, and a private boardwalk to the beach. All units have private balconies to enjoy gulf views and breezes. Pets are not permitted in this unit and smoking is allowed outside only.
Per HOA: Before traveling to Port Aransas/Beachhead Condos, please plan the correct number of vehicles you drive in accordance to the rules below. Properly planning the correct number of vehicles prior to your departure will enhance your vacation experience:

We love Beachhead. This rental was cute, however the main bedroom door was a shutter door. It was hard to open and close. No privacy. The two chairs at the end of the bed are a waste of space. Other than that, the stay was great.

The location was ideal, and the back deck was pleasant for sitting. The pool was heated and very comfortable. Our smoke alarms went off every single time we cooked. With no ventilation above the stove, if there was anything cooked on top of the stove, it triggered a fire alarm. The furniture was cute and beachy. The most comfortable chairs were in the master bedroom, so that was unfortunate. They would have been an upgrade to the living room comfort. The Wi-Fi password was incorrect, but that was fixed as soon as we notified Port Aransas Escapes.. I found Port A Escapes to be very polite when booking a place, but experienced rudeness during the stay: however, they did get the needed repairs made in a timely manner. I just think they should pre clear the property to ensure it is ready to go if they are going to hire staff who will hang up on you to end the conversation when you call. There was a nice view, and it looks like it is in the posted pictures online. The beds were comfortable. There were only two of us using the condo which is advertised as able to accommodate six people. I do believe that would be way too crowded for the living room set up. Great kitchen cookware, knives, etc...just beware of the smoke alarm going off if you fry an egg.

We enjoyed our stay. The condo was in the perfect spot! We were able to walk to the beach and pool! Then jet off to dinner in the golf cart. The condo was clean and the kids loved their beds!

This property was very clean and well-maintained. I loved the keyless entry! Lots of sleeping with bunk beds that had a full size mattress on the bottom. The place was decorated...total beach vibes! All up to date appliances, paint job, and a smart tv. Such a cute place!

I would say this place is exactly as pictured. Other reviews mentioned going up 2 sets of stairs and the furniture. Neither were disruptive to our stay. I wish there was a broom to keep floor cleaner. We tried, but sand goes everywhere. We loved the view and listening to the waves. We had to wander to find the game room, but it too was just as the pictures indicated.

Overall we had a good time at this condo. The proximity to the beach is great, the pool is less than exciting, I wouldnt have booked 3rd floor with my three small kids had I realized it was 3 flights of stairs, the doors to the master bedroom have shades on them the kids could flip up (not ideal), the balcony said it was under construction so we couldn't have our coffee out there and watch the sunrise as intended with the amazing view and we weren't made aware of that in advance. The bunk beds were great for our littles. None of the tv apps were working, and you could only turn down the ac to 72.

We did have to air it out upon arrival due to moth balls in the closet. Recent flooding made some of the grounds mushy, but maintenance is working on it. Beach access could be a challenge for those with mobility issues, due to a temporary (?) open drainage ditch near the beach, sloping of the boardwalk, muddy areas, and many stairs to the units and in the pool area. We rate this unit 5 stars even though the resort is still doing hurricane repairs. The pool and gameroom are sparkling clean. Overall, we loved our stay and would go back anytime!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The condo was very clean and had plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, etc, although hand soap would have been nice to have in the bathrooms. The view of the gulf was awesome, but we were disappointed the balcony was off limits. We were never told why, but it would have been nice to be able to use it. The bunk room was awesome for our kids! The only things I would suggest to make this a better stay would be a more comfortable bed in the main bedroom with sheets that actually fit and new living room furniture. The wicker furniture was not very comfortable. We loved the pool and how it had a view of the gulf as well. Great location and beach access was a huge plus. No need to rent a golf cart!

There were several issues that demonstrate that the maintenance and house keeping staff are not doing their job very well. First off, the coffee pot didn't work so we boiled water in a pan to make coffee. The board walk lights don't work. The lights are there, they just don't come on at night. Trash pick up is supposed to be daily (according to the hand out) but it actually ever two days. Trash was overflowing. There is no on site person or even an office to go to at the complex but the handout says see the on site staff at the the office on the hill. I looked all over that building and there was no office. We go to the coast every year. The place that we used to go to is ok, but we were looking for something better so we gave Port A Escapes a try. We won't do that again.
