We loved our location and all the neighbors were very friendly
2.0 / 10.0
Worst property, by far, we’ve ever stayed in. These are notes I took during our stay.
Grill, wouldn’t heat above 250 degrees, ruined a meal
Stove, wouldn’t go above 300 degrees, ruined meal
Blender, broken, fire hazard
Dishwasher doesn’t work
Ice maker doesn’t work
1 hand towel
Paper towels horrible
No toilet paper
No soap
Several dangerous parts of house, my wife had two injuries due to house.
Over 90 degrees in house when we arrived
Ceiling fan outside about to break
Can’t sit at island with bar stools
Black mold in glass
Dead mouse
Cockroaches
House needs an audit before anyone else should be allowed to stay here.

The view was beautiful. The lawn and surrounding areas kept clean. Super quiet at night, the sliding doors keep it soundproof. Small little things that need to be fixed here and there. Manager said she would have maintenance address the issues. The manager had the television box changed out by midday of the second day we were there, after we reported the problem. The place could use better blinds and a new bar-b-que. Communicating with the manager was very easy and convenient.

Great location, quiet neighborhood and you can't beat the lanai/backyard/beachfront area. We found the place to be clean and it was nice having 4 bathrooms for 8 people. The host was very responsive with all of our pre-trip questions. The following is not meant to be a complaint but simply an observation: Our group is a rather TALL group of people and we found some of the fixtures in the house to be fit for much smaller people, even moreso than "normal". So, just a literal head's up with the ceiling fan in the master bedroom, the 3rd level bedrooms/bathrooms (attic style ceilings) and the hood vent over the stovetop if you are also tall.

To put it mildly if this was the low point of our trip. For the amount of money we spent per night, I was expecting a high-end vacation villa. What we got was a rental with cockroaches, mice, a broken toilet, moldy bedding and towels, and TV that didn't work. Let's talk about the cockroaches, I understand that near beaches you can get the large cockroaches from outside. We found four in the rental. However, there were also smaller cockroaches which I took pictures of. Terminix came and said that the place, although didn't seem to be infested he absolutely saw a signs of cockroaches. Then there was the mouse that came out to say hi. The bedding and towels were moldy. We had to rewash everything, which cut into vacation time. Having eight people, one a toddler whose potty training, in a house where you now only have three bathrooms instead of four because the toilet runs and floods the kitchen every time you flush it is a major inconvenience. Lastly, the no TV working wouldn't have been an issue if we didn't have said toddler with us. We made it work with tablets but there is a giant TV and she couldn't understand why we couldn't watch her show on the TV. All in all there are a bunch of inconvenient things like no tissues in the house and sweltering heat on the top floor bedrooms. I think the worst part is that the property manager lives in Seattle, so whoever is managing the property locally for her is not doing a good job and she has no visibility.

The property and community in which it is located is beautiful and well maintained. We loved the convenience of walking out on the lanai and directly to beach access. We are a family of 6 adults and 1 child (14 months old) and enjoyed the ease of the townhouse, yard and beach. The community is quiet and located within walking distance to Lahaina dining/shopping district. This location was a great find for our family.

Stunning location. We watched many beautiful sunsets & star gazing. Short walk to the pools. Short drive to Lahaina. We would have liked more outdoor chairs to use on the 2nd floor lani. The switch plate in main bath over sink needs to be fixed as well as the door to the room but, that is minor compared to the location.

Perfect location with spacious lawn and picturesque view of ocean. Clean, no roaches, spiders, ants or vermin. Comfortable beds and linen. Hot water. Nice family space. Big refrigerator. Lots of fry pans and pots, cookie sheets. Needs a bigger baking pan. (We celebrated several birthdays.) Working oven. Working gas grill. Sand toys, games. Big outdoor table we enjoyed breakfast and dinner at. Multiple pool access in quiet community. Short walk to Lahaina. Quick drive to shopping. I would love to come back here.

This property was amazing! A family vacation of 8 adults (4 couples) filled the space without feeling cramped. The lanai and it’s view are simply stunning. And the stackable sliding lanai doors brilliantly create an even larger living space. The listing photos do not showcase just how beautiful this condo is. I was expecting a bit more of a dated feel, so I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The condo is comfortably laid out on 3 floors with a smart and creative design that doesn’t feel cramped or like your constantly walking up stairs. The property is meticulously manicured. Picture perfect for all those sunset photos! Diane was a wonderful host. Thanks!!

Location was great. Property not well maintained. Would have opened windows more but screens were gone or ripped where bugs came in at night. Needs an update on bed in second floor room. Very small showers. We took off our shoes before entering house but kept socks on. MISTAKE! Two people fell down the wood steps and one fractured his foot. All on the first day. Range dials in kitchen unreadable and light bulbs burned out in house. Hard to figure light switches. Also blinds in bathroom had large hole in them. Took garbage put every night but still saw two large roaches. Would have been nice to get instructions on TV. Said no connection when we tried it. Disappointed for the amount that was charged per night. Glad we were out most of the time

This was a beautiful condo, with amazing views and plenty of space. We could not have picked a better condo for our family of 7 (18-53 years old). Everyone had their own space, room acs cooled each room enough (close those bedroom doors!), gathering space downstairs was big enough for all to hang out. Beach access literally steps away from our back door made morning and evening strolls an everyday activity. Whales, whales, whales, bring your binoculars. We could hear some of the whale watching cruisers as they shouted with joy watching whales breach and slap the water.
Things to note: Unit is almost to the end of the complex, which offers an immense amount of privacy, but walking to Front Street is a hike (we drove). There are a few cosmetic and wear-and-tear issues, but nothing deal-breaking. A few noticeable past leaks in the ceiling that have not yet been repaired, molding and baseboards could use touchup/repair, could use new cushions at outdoor chairs/benches and could benefit from a nicer lounger for downstairs lanai. Be aware there are no bedrooms on first level, so everyone needs to be able to navigate stairs. We couldn't figure out how to get satellite tv to work, but didn't bother us--caught the important March Madness games on our computer/phones.
Communication with owner was good as I had a few questions early on during booking and trip planning. She was responsive and helpful.
This was a great home base for us as some went on adventures, some just hung out at condo soaking up the sun, sounds and sea smell. The outstanding views and non-mega-hotel-peacefulness was worth the price here! Mahalo!

First off, overall we enjoyed our stay, and for the price, would probably book again. The location and views simply can't be beat! We truly loved it!
Overall, the condo itself was nice. The floorplan worked for our family. The kitchen was nice, except that the vent hood was a bit in the way (heads were bumped) & the faucet was a real bummer (needs a flexible spray head).
The furniture was just OK. Everything could use some updating (including the mattresses), but was overall comfortable and functioned well.
Now for the bad stuff:
The biggest problem was the bugs! Tiny little bugs in the kitchen, all 3 bathrooms, and the 3rd floor bedroom. They were a Major annoyance!
2nd Bath shower leaked badly, faucet handles were very loose, & the exhaust fan didn't work.
AC in 2nd bedroom barely worked.
Light bulbs out in several places.
Other than those few bad things, and the need for updates, everything was wonderful. We enjoyed our trip, and like I said before, we'd book it again for the price we paid. I just think some TLC would truly make this place unbeatable!

Puamana Estates is a fantastic community and this condo has a great location and gorgeous view. Truly wonderful on those points! But I felt for the price, the unit itself is in need of some TLC to replace the worn out furniture, kitchen ware, broken blinds, scuffs and scratches etc. It really could be a gem. We appreciated the beach gear and still had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay!

Great location, great accommodation, perfect location to visit historic Lahaina and get around Maui. We live on Oahu - I mean where do you vacation when you live in Hawaii? MAUI! Why wife and I are frequent visitors when it comes to whale season and this year we shared our vacation with our (adult) kids. Could not ask for a better place to stay than the property and the condo itself. No issues other than previous tenants feeding the "free range" chickens which were a nuisance - not the property's issue or the owner's issue - please future guests DON'T FEED THE CHICKENS! Other than that nit - which we made light of - the experience was just as advertised. An awesome experience. Highly recommended if you have a large group to take to Maui.

Prenominal view and quiet location toward the end of this complex. A bit far from the pools and clubhouse, but worth the walk. The unit was a bit worn and lacking (Stove was old and difficult to work as the labels on the knobs were worn off and one burner did not always work. Shortage of hand towels and washclothes. but offset by a good accumulation of spices from other visitors. ) All and all it was a beautiful week!

We were blown away at the views from our house! The huge grass area out front was absolutely perfect for hanging with our small children and just watching the waves roll in. The kitchen is small, but great for cooking lots of meals in. The master bedroom was incredible - the view was outstanding, the bed was large and comfy, and the master bath was great. The other three bedrooms are definitely on the smaller side, but didn’t bother the group much. One thing I wasn’t expecting- there were no bath tubs in any of the bathrooms. Not a huge deal, but it does make cleaning the little ones harder! The community the house was in was clean, beautiful, and had very friendly staff, guests/owners. Overall, I’d highly recommend this place to anyone!

The location of this condo is perfect for a family with ages 1 to 88 years old. Having a beautiful lawn and beach access off of the lanai was wonderful. Only glitch was all the bedrooms are upstairs. But fortunately our grandma was comfy sleeping on the sofa and waking up to the chickens and beautiful sunrise. The kitchen had everything we needed and the fridge had an ice maker. Yay. Host Diane was so accommodating and always answered our pre Maui trip questions.

Can’t beat the view and location! My granddaughters (7 & 8) loved going out to the beach first thing in the morning - easy to do when it’s only 50 yards away! Although the beach area is small, it’s enough for romping in the waves and using boogie boards. The unit does have a couple of beach chairs, boogie boards (pretty worn but the kids didn’t mind), a medium soft sided ice chest, and various sand toys under the stairs. Lots of leftover spices and cooking oil too so check it out before your grocery shopping! The furniture is a little worn but comfortable and mattresses could use an update but the amazing view and location make up for that! The 3 1/2 bathrooms is a blessing when you have a group of 8!

Decent location, needs some updates
Neighborhood and location near the water is great. Three story condo, good space for two families. Unfortunately, one evening the master bedroom lights would not come on, but team came next day to rewire circuits. For two days the master AC unit (pretty dusty) just blew air but did not cool and by the second day the room temperature went to 89 degrees with west sun beaming in the room. Unbearable. Again, after two days the team came out and rigged with a temporary unit to cool down the room. The team servicing the unit were friendly but the main POC didn’t seem too apologetic for the various challenges. Our kids liked the third floor and 3.5 baths was great. Just a word of caution if you are the unlucky couple to get the second adult room - queen bed, minimal furniture, tiny shower … you’ll be jealous of the master comfortable king, beach view and big bathroom. Upgraded kitchen, a lot of beach items you can use, furniture pretty worn and the grill was propped up on wood branches, not sure what happened to its base. In all, average rental and a tad high on price if some updates aren’t made.

Adult Family vacation
We stayed here with out 3 sons and their spouses/significant others. The property was absolutely beautiful and beachfront. At low tide there was sand to walk on at beach, pretty rough surf but very nice. The unit (226-1) was absolutely perfect for our group. Plenty of space and plenty of bathrooms. Unit was in beautiful condition. 5 minute drive into downtown Lahaina and 25 minute walk. We would definitely stay here again if we’re able to pull it off again.

Ideal for family gathering, well-loved and worn in places
Ideal for family gathering, well-loved and worn in places -- We were 8 family members, from 73 to 1, who met in Maui. It was wonderful to find an affordable 4-bedroom place! This place is well-loved, which is a kind way of saying that it's pretty worn. Nothing that makes it unusable, but if you want luxury and high-end, beware. The reviews here were all accurate and prepared us. The highlights: the VIEW and LOCATION. Wow! Puamana gated community is quiet, beautiful, spacious. Pools are small but serviceable (the nicest is 18+ and the quiet pool). Grounds are lovely and our kids loved running, playing, viewing turtles in the surf. We swam in front of the condo, but it is a little rough - not impossible at all, but bring water shoes and it's for boogie boarding NOT snorkeling. Mostly rocks, some sand. The beds were comfortable but old (twin room is for kids only, beds are small and old, but kids were fine). The couch was comfortable and kitchen well-stocked. Parking is easy and convenient, it's great to be on an end unit. Well stocked with TP, paper towels, coffee filters. Towels for beach and bath were new. The place gets HOT on upper floors, so each room has AC and you must shut doors when using it. Everyone's worked well. Main level living area AC was great, when needed. Porch has lots of places to sit. The lowlights: many windows are broken/don't open or don't fully close, and missing screens. Beach items and toys are old, worn, some broken. There are not enough nightstands and lamps - some rooms have none, and those that have them, sometimes only on one side of the bed. Multiple fancy light bulbs burned out and not functioning in kitchen. Kitchen is weirdly designed and we all kept hitting our heads on the vent/fan! Could not find a dust pan and the broom is decrepit, so it was hard to keep up cleanliness on our own. Outdoor shower is nice but no hot water, only cool-temp Hawaii tap water. Road noise from the road beyond the fence/foliage in the front of house and in two bedrooms during day - but no one was bothered by it at all at night!

Great Location!
We enjoyed our time on Maui and this is the perfect base location to tour the island. The property has a great lanai and lawn area but is about a 10 min walk to any of the pools in the complex. The pool by the sea is older and in need of repairs. We booked this property about a year out and one of the prior comments was that the bedding was in need of replacing. We thought (hoped) it would have been addressed by our time, but we too found all the beds worn and the bedding thin and cheap. For the price, we were expecting a bit more luxury. The condo itself could use some TLC. Be sure to look in the cupboard under the stairs for any beach toys and chairs, which we discovered on our last day.

Perfect location. We have rented same condo before and same condo complex another time. Owner was a stickler for not refunding us when covid hit (all others in our group were refunded with no problem), but made good on allowing us to use the credit later. We will definitely be back as we love this area.

Great property...with a few caveats
First things first; would I rent this property again? Absolutely. Location is impressive. Corner unit with the ocean just steps away. Three sliding glass doors fully open allowing for an amazing early morning coffee stop or evening Happy Hour spot. And Diane, the property manager, is second to none. Immediate response to any questions or issues, regardless of day or time. Incredibly helpful and appreciated.
However, as noted in the title, while the location is amazing there are few caveats to this endorsement:
First, while the unit is technically four bedrooms, two rooms are stretching the definition. The Master bedroom on the second floor, facing the ocean, is spectacular. With its own deck facing the ocean as well as a wonderful bathroom/shower, this is an A+ bedroom.
The other three bedrooms, less ideal. The second ensuite room with queen bed (on the second floor) is fine...just worn out (bedding, sheets, ). Clean, just worn out. Bathroom could use a small cosmetic update, but nicely sized. This room does face the parking lot/highway, however the noise was not an issue for our folks in that room
The two bedrooms on the third floor are marginal in size and function. Neither room has a closet or lamps or much of anything other than beds. Great rooms for the kids in your group; not so great for adults. Ceiling height does become an issue on the third floor, both in the bedrooms and the bathroom due to the pitched roof. The pitched roof made for a very narrow walking area for me at 6'1". Lost count on how many times I smacked my head. As noted earlier, the linens in these rooms seemed especially old and worn.
We prepared several meals in the kitchen which is nicely updated, however was short stocked on glassware (we supplemented the inventory after a quick stop at a local thrift store). Average at best for a VRBO, especially at this price
The complex grounds are very well kept. There are significant rules and regulations that guests need to adhere to, however, once you know those rules, (i.e. when playing pickle ball, you must use the Association's paddles available from the office.
You may not use your own due to noise). Again, nothing was a problem. just needed to know, and the results are a nice, quiet and secure location.
In the end, it's not the freshest property I've ever rented, however location made up for those shortfalls.

Breath taking
What you see in the post is what you get. It’s an amazing property just about 40yrds from the sand. We’ll definitely return.
Pro tip…make sure you have water shoes. It’s mostly rock and coral.

Beautiful views, not great experience
Having a group of 8 required 3 vehicles, did not tell us you have to park 1/2mile away. For a house that is over 2.5mil $ you would think they would fix and update stuff. Sink facet cheap Walmart style, fans outside look like they will fall apart, light don't work in them, most electrical plug in up stairs don't work and covering broke, they don't tell you where anything is. Found out the last day we had beach stuff we could have used. One of the security guards was making up rules the other security guards confirmed was not a rule. Overall house was nice, property was beautiful, views are amazing. If you are coming to just sit and relax it will be great, if you want to have gatherings of sorts, not the place.

Perfect for our family get together
We very much enjoyed our stay. The location is lovely, right on the ocean and close to the historic town of Lahaina. Our granddaughter named all the chickens that came on our porch. We enjoyed just sitting and watching the ocean and the sunsets.
Our only caution is that the see through shades do not block the light in the floor to ceiling windows of the entire wall of the primary bedroom which makes for very early mornings (and extreme heat in the afternoon direct sunlight). The view, however, is spectacular and an early rise meant we could watch for the whales. On most days, we saw the whales playing.

The provisions inside the unit were not very good.
The location of the unit is excellent. But it was lacking in a lot of basics. The upstairs bathrooms only had two towels, a face cloth and two one ounce mini bars of soap. We had to go out and buy soap, and the two towels had to be washed every other day. That was a problem because the dryer didn't work. The downstairs bathroom had no towels.
The air conditioner in the master bedroom is located in the corner and in the afternoon that room is unbearable. There are sun screens but the sunlight overtakes them..
It has a beautiful island in the kitchen but it is way too big for that area.
The back porch really needs a sun screen like the other units in this building to help cut down the heat of the sun.
The owner is readily available and the unit's location is very good.

Loved the views -great view of whales from our back patio!
Need more washcloths in bathroom/ no wash cloths in 2of 3 baths. More trash bags. The house as large and clean though-loved that. Could use a little TLC(upkeep). But overall I’d say it was wonderful-thank you!

Cozy condo within earshot of the waves
My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The best location near Lahaina...close enough to be there in minutes, far enough away to feel away from it all. Condo was clean and well equipped. Beds were comfortable...people in the area friendly. Only knocks would be road noise can be a minor nuisance (windows on road side were excellent and road noise did not get through, so no issue sleeping) and ice maker was not working. Would stay again!

Breathtaking Location!
We loved our stay at the Puamana Ocean Front Townhouse. In fact, we didn't want to go home. Each of our couples had their own room and bathroom. The view to the ocean from the main living room and two bedrooms was unbelievable! My husband and I had the master bedroom and would open our patio doors each night just to fall asleep to the ocean waves. We'd enjoy our Starbucks each morning on the balcony. Incredible! Oh, did I mention that it's soooooo close to Front Street? Just 5 minutes and we could be at Front Street enjoying some great food or entertainment. We were also able to access the ferry to Lanai from that same area.
This was our first time to Maui. We loved, loved, loved our visit and would come back anytime. If/when I get the opportunity to come back - I will for sure stay at the Puamana Ocean Front Townhouse. Best trip ever!
