About this house rental
Enjoy the lower level of this architecturally stunning private gated end of cul-de-sac Mill Valley retreat. Completely separate from the main living areas of the house, where my partner and I live, the lower level has its own entrance and outdoor space. The family room and 2 larger bedrooms look out over the dedicated terrace, towards the pool, the bay and the San Francisco skyline.
The property is located minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge, the Marin Headlands and the ferry to SF, and just up the hill from Strawberry Village, offering multiple options for shopping and restaurants.
The world reknowned Napa and Sonoma wine regions are an easy day trip away.
Additional features of the property include a 75' lap pool, a full gym, a jetted hot tub, and a large mature, lush garden. While at the property, our guests enjoy exclusive use of the pool, gym and spa. We make every effort to be invisible, and to not be intrusive. We respect our guests’ privacy.

The location and property manager were fabulous, but this isn’t the entire house. I missed that when renting. The apartment is outdated, and smells like mothballs. The kitchen only has 2 electric burners because it’s a galley kitchen, so no full size fridge. Also, we weren’t told the kitchen had ants, so in a matter of an hour, food we left out to cool was no longer eatable. The shower head in the bathroom in the master sweet drips all night, so you have to leave it on the shower floor and there is mold in the washing machine which is in the galley kitchen. The gym was old and out dated, but the view was amazing, and the pool and hot tub were fabulous. If you don’t plan on spending much time at the rental, this is a good place to sleep, but had I known these little pointers before renting I would’ve paid the extra thousand to get the entire house somewhere else. Note the stairs are a pain when dragging up luggage and the couch is hard.

We had a wonderful stay at the apartment rental within this gorgeous modern home. The location was ideal with an incredible view of San Francisco and easy travel across the Golden Gate Bridge to city activities or into Mill Valley for excellent restaurants. We used the hot tub at least once a day and spent time relaxing and playing games inside. The living areas are small, but the apartment has everything you need!

We met up with another couple for a weekend trip and had a lovely time at this VRBO. The hot tub was great and the pool was beautiful, but we only had time (and weather) for the hot tub. My one suggestion for the property is a more comfortable couch. Thank you!

Beautiful property with stunning views. Just as described. It was perfect for our girls-weekend to Napa/Sonoma and had everything we needed. The hosts even brought us a bottle of champagne to celebrate which was a lovely touch! We had an issue with the smoke alarms going off but our host was able to fix it for us. Also, beware, there are several stairs at this property so probably not best for those with any handicaps. Wish we would have had a chance to enjoy the pool and jacuzzi. All-in-all I highly recommend this listing if you need a place to stay in the area.

We had a wonderful stay at Mill Valley Modern. Jeffrey was very helpful in getting us settled, the pool was a true highlight for our three boys, as well as the overall views, beautiful neighborhood and proximity to SF. Would definitely recommend!

There were 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 teens. The pool was lovely, as was the hot tub! The location was so nice for both SF and Napa-safe and easy parking! Highly recommend!

We rented the apartment that is attached to the larger house and had a wonderful, comfortable stay with the most accommodating, easygoing, friendly hosts Jeffrey & Gary. All of the amenities, including pool, hot tub, and gym were available to us (though sadly we didn't have time to use them).
It's clear that the hosts deeply care about and take care of the entire property and the listing. If you book here, you'll be in great hands with everything you need to make your stay comfortable and easy. Added bonus of being in beautiful Mill Valley.

Super property in a lovely area acriss the bay from San Francisco. 5 mins to the ferry at Tiburon and then a $7.50 trip across the harbour to downtown. Brilliant trip.

This is a modern apartment with beautiful views — close to everything if you have a car. It’s on the smaller side but worked out for our family of four, especially with the pool. We had challenges communicating with hosts about issues in the home which frustrated us during first few days. They were resolved. No dishwasher but well stocked otherwise! Highly recommend Boo Koo, Flour Craft Bakery, Hook Fish, Farmshop and Rustic Bakery. Whole Foods and CVS are very close too. A great choice if you want to be outside the city but close to everything.

Fantastic Property
This home is in a great location for a family to check out San Francisco and the surrounding area. It's a quick car ride to downtown or Muir Woods as well as restaurants and groceries. After a day of dragging teenagers around for sightseeing, the pool was awesome to have access to. We would book this same home again in the future.

Our family from Australia stayed here for a SF holiday. Proximity to parks, coast and city was ideal. The hosts bent over backwards to help us. The pool and hot tub with a view were the best we’ve come across in 20 years using VRBO. Wish I had used the gym more.

An amazing place to stay!!
We absolutely loved spending almost a week at this beautiful property! The living quarters were modern and clean and it was wonderful to get to enjoy the pool, hot tub and gym each day! The views are amazing and it is in a centrally located area close to SF and the rest of Marin! The owners were so friendly and quick to respond to our needs.

"Apartment" on the Hill
While the property is beautiful and as described, when booking this place note that it is a "basement apartment" and the tenants will be living above you, ie they may not keep the same hours as you! The apartment sleeps 6, but the space overall is tight for 5 adults. The furniture in the living space was very uncomfortable but the beds for sleeping were great! The kitchenette provided what we needed, but again was very tight and only one adult could be in there at a time. Overall, we all enjoyed our stay at this Strawberry Hill apartment.

Truly our best vacation rental stay ever!!
An absolutely perfect stay!! We were in town for nearly 3 weeks celebrating some big milestones in our lives, and we could not have imagined a more perfect home base! Magnificent in Mill Valley

Wonderful Getaway!
Our 3 generation family from the Bay Area had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. Jeffrey and Gary were terrific hosts--readily available and helpful; but also they left us to enjoy the property by ourselves. They even gifted us with a lovely bowl of fresh cherries they picked themselves while we went hiking out toTennessee Valley Beach! The apartment is very well supplied. We made good use of the pool, which was just as we had hoped, as was the location--great views, and so close to all we wanted to explore in Marin County. Easy access to San Francisco as well.

We arrived expecting to stay in a house and were told by Gary that it was just a room suite part of their house. We asked if we could just call it off and refund and Gary proceeded to call my 8 mos pregnant wife an idiot and that this was his business. We did not stay for any nights.

Awesome property
My family had a great time and the house and amenities were outstanding! Gary and Jeff made the whole process very easy and to be honest we did not even know they were there the property is so well laid out. The only complaint we have is with the mattresses, especially in the second BR with the queen bed. Easy solution would be a mattress topper or just a new mattress but it definitely needs to be addressed. Overall a great unit to rent and you will not be disappointed with the views and the pool!

Perfection in Marin
The sunny deck, pool and hot tub was all we needed to keep our kids happy during days marked by Zoom school in the mornings and pool fun in the afternoons.

Highly recommend staying here. For us six guys it was a bit small, but because the outside was where we hung out most of the time it worked out perfectly. I would come back and stay here every time. I’ve already spoke to my wife about coming with the kids. VERY close to everything you need and our hike we took which was 10 minutes away had breathtaking views. Thank you Jeffre and Gary!!

We had our SFO family join us for the weekend at this beautiful home with large decks a huge lap pool and swimming pool and hot tub. The house has an incredible design and details. Has a great view over the bay all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge. Perfect for entertaining. Good hosts and special time here

Just what we were looking for!
Gracious Hosts and beautiful Home. We drove across the bay and wanted access to an amazing pool and setting to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our whole family. Kids had remote school and I conducted work through our own dedicated WiFi. We came with marinated proteins and side and utilized oven, stove and bbq and ate at some new restaurants that we thoroughly enjoyed! The hot tub was also very high quality and garden provided a great setting for the pool. While we went when it visibility was low due to the weather, it must be amazing when the weather clears out up high on the hilltop. Definitely would stay again on a special occasion. They also have a personal gym overlooking the pool, but we didn’t use too much. We had a great time. Thanks Jeffrey!!
