We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was well-stocked and clean. The outdoor space and badminton net were great for playing outside with the kids. The quaint town of McCloud was beautiful and very welcoming. We browsed the little shops, visited the museum, and played at the park, all of which were a short walk away. Check-in was a breeze, and the owners were easy to communicate with.

Overall just excellent. Lots of nice bedrooms and bathrooms; good beds; nice, comfortable furniture throughout; nice outdoor patio with dining and visiting space; plenty of dishes and cookware; excellent WiFi; plenty of streaming platforms. Location in historic district of McCloud made possible many pleasant after dinner strolls.

Absolutely beautiful house which was perfect for myself and two friends to stay for two nights as we prepped to climb Mount Shasta. Great communication from The Host and could not ask for a more beautiful setting before we started our journey. If you were in the Cloud area highly suggest this property.

Lovely visit with family. The cabin was delightfully cool with good insulation and many fans even though the days were hot!! McCloud was very charming and enjoyed hikes to the many waterfalls and even rented a party boat on Lake Siskiyou

Great property. Lots of space. Beautiful living room. Nice grill on the patio. Was a little concerned staying in summer with upper 90s for highs and only one AC unit in the loft, but it worked out fine- just opened windows at night and it stayed comfortable during the day. Midway during our stay the town issued a water quality notice and the host kindly dropped off a case of bottled water before we knew about it.

There were 8 of us attending a family reunion and not only was there plenty of room and rooms, but bathroom facilities were more than adequate. The house was stocked with games for the gathering, I won at UNO! Best of all it is an easy walk to McCloud's downtown area and the setting of the house with towering pines is shady and restful. Just across the way is the original hospital, all boarded up, but definitely historical that some of old timers were born in or at least had some great stories of sprains, burns and breaks from our childhood. Thank you for offering such a lovely home for the out of towners. Going to have to return another season to experience some snow on the ground.

Although we were only two couples in our group, we all agreed this would be the perfect place for a family reunion. So many outdoor seating areas. Large great room. Owners were very quick to answer questions. Extremely comfortable beds with nice linens. We will stay there again.

Our stay great as usual! fun in the snow on the Mt. I have asked about this before RandA. Please put a HOT TUB ! on the deck over past the wood splitting . If you were to do this I would come every year! Maybe twice! Thanks Dana

Enjoyed our 30th year McCloud fishing trip with buddies that work for similar volunteer assignments in the summers and always enjoy a week or so fishing and visiting. We really enjoy the Smith's house. Booking for next year already.

Spacious and comfortable log cabin living. We had good bedroom space for 7 and could have housed a few more. Just a couple blocks from Main St. which allowed us to walk to our quilting retreat there.

My friends and i stayed here fir our annual labor day women only trip. The cabin is spectacular with lots of space for BBQ, group meals, games and conversations. We visited the town, took some nice walks and enjoyed our time together. It was a great location, close to town but not in ot. Neighbors were friendly and quiet. We will definitely come back again if we can.

We like the house and location with one exception this year. Next store neighbors which is some type of multifamily compound were using a chainsaw everyday into the early evening which was very annoying.

We had a large group with kids ranging in age from 2 - 8 years old. The house is definitely unique and fun. The big yard for the kids to play was also a big star for this property! We will definitely consider staying again!

Our third family gathering at this wonderful property. The amenities that come with this "Family Lodge" allow us to bring the family together and meet everyone's needs. Great access to all the Mt. Shasta area has to offer.

We had a family wedding in McCloud and stayed at Richard and Alexa’s log cabin. The house was very spacious and comfortable - and our boys had a great time roaming the large property. We loved how close (one block over) we were from Main Street and walking distance from everything in town. Would def come back again and would highly recommend!

We love your unique and lovely log home! We have enjoyed your home for many years, and it is perfect for a fun and wonderful woman’s retreat. We did leave a couple notes of very small concerns and did run out of firewood.

Amazing property and close proximity to the historic downtown and McCloud hotel. We enjoyed the amazing stone fireplace and there was ample firewood to keep the Great Room warm and cozy. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get the TV working but didn’t really need it. All the rooms had comfortable beds and the hallway bathroom I used had a shower with great water pressure.
Richard and Alexa were amazing hosts before and during our stay. They even allowed us to stay past our check-out time which helped us time our departure between storms.
We even had a snowplow come through and plow the driveway just before we had to leave. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable weekend with family. We hope to return in the summer to enjoy all the hiking and waterfalls
Thank you Richard and Alexa
