The house is located six miles west of downtown Durango at a cool elevation of 7500 feet.

The 3000+ square foot house is very privately situated on 5 1/2 acres. Abundant sunshine, tall ponderosa pines and beautiful views of the La Plata mountains make this home a wonderful vacation retreat. The house has large windows and a 800 square foot covered deck to help you enjoy all the beautiful surroundings. The open floor plan, vaulted ceiling and post and beam design give this house a true Colorado mountain feel.

This beautiful home and property exceeded our expectations, and made for a fabulous family getaway. We spent 3 1/2 weeks there and never tired of the wonderful view from the deck. The home is modern, clean, comfortable, and spacious, affording everyone space for privacy and get togethers. Location is very convenient for getting to town and the beautiful Lake Nighthorse. We were so impressed that we have already planned a return visit.

My wife & our 3 daughters (14, 20, 22 yrs) stayed for a week & loved the home. Pitt of town & quiet, but close to Durango, Mesa Verde NP & other attractions. We enjoyed seeing deer daily, and we ate on the deck every morning & evening.

This house is beyond beautiful and clean! The outside stairs leads to the main level as you enter, complete with a kitchen, dining room, living room, den and king en suite bedroom/bathroom. Downstairs from the living space has another king en suite bedroom/bathroom, queen en suite bedroom/bathroom, laundry and a small kitchen. There is a door to exit directly out to the car which made for easy loading and unloading of luggage. The beds were comfortable and there was an abundance of linens and towels. The outside deck has a dining table, hammock and rockers and is perfect for viewing the sunset each evening. Working with the owner was seamless and we would absolutely love to return to this property some day.

Beautiful vacation rental. We brought our Golden Retriever and she had a blast and was just as comfortable as we all were. I’ve stayed in many cabin rentals, and this cabin rental is the first rental that every single detail was considered. We never had to leave and purchase a utensil, tea kettle, hand soap, zip lock bags, you name it, and the owner has thought of every single necessity you would need, to not have to leave and get it. They have a dog run with dog bowls if you forget that too! We were just amazed at the beauty and comfort provided, well worth the price , and we will definitely be back!

We stayed for a week and it was wonderful! The house was clean, with well equiped kitchen, and all the little extras you need for a truly comfortable stay. Communication was execellent and we plan to come back again! Thanks again Morris for a wonderful experience! The only negative part was having to leave!

If you live in a city or even suburbans rent this house! It's truly spacious, there are three bedrooms far from each other, a volume ceiling on the main floor, and nice kitchen with everything you'd need. It's located in an isolated place but not too far from the road. The air is fantastic and the view from the windows is gorgeous! Highly recommend it!

This was our second stay at the property. We returned because we were very pleased the first time, and will return again in the future. Excellent location, close to Durango, yet off the beaten track. Lovely view of the snow-capped mountains. Well though floor plan. Lacking none of the amenities.

Truly enjoyed our stay in this well maintained / clean home. Had everything we needed for a peaceful stay. Morris sent great communication and the home was a delight! This was an oversight on our part when booking, but the home has stairs required to access the outside and beautiful waxed hardwood floors that were difficult for our senior dog to navigate. Again, an oversight on our part, but would affect us staying there again so we figure it might be helpful knowledge for others.

This was our first visit in December. It had snowed before our arrival, and continued to snow all during our stay. It was magical, warm and cozy in the cabin with the fireplace crackling! Morris was great, checking in with us to ensure we had all we needed. It was just perfect.

We have had the opportunity to stay in this beautiful house several times. This home is impeccably maintained and is incredibly well-appointed. The views are stunning (especially after a snow event). This was our 2nd stay at this property, and it was just as perfect as the first time. The home was immaculate. The furnishings cozy and comfortable, and the view was lovely. The location is private, but close to Durango for grocery runs or a meal in town. Morris was lovely to deal with ad always.

The house was immaculate including the windows! It was the best stocked place we've ever stayed. The view was gorgeous and there were deer in the yard daily. Loved the rocking chairs and hammock. Only problem was that the internet wasn't great - bring boosters. Looking forward to getting out of the heat and spend another summer hiking, rafting and eating in Durango next year!

Pros Great property with large deck to enjoy the nature of Durango. Clean and ample amnesties. Calm neighborhood which is great to go for walks. Closer to the town. Excellent communication with the property owner, who was very responsive. Cons: Bugs and slow internet speed. Unfortunately we had big and strange looking insects visiting us many rooms everyday. We chalked it up as staying in the country. Still, waking up with a bug on your face or finding them in the closet was not a good experience for the children. On one particular day, we had a large outbreak of insects. I bought bug sprak, took care of them, and vacuumed. This freaked out the entire family. Two of the family members had school work to complete during the vacation. If one person was on video calls, the other one could not be on video calls or watch something. The network buffered bad, which was an issue for us.

My husband and my 2 dogs, decided to come back to Morris’ home for a second time and I have to say our stay was just as perfect as the first time. The house is fully stocked and a perfect getaway location. So much open space in the house and in the property for us to roam around, plus serene location for some unwinding and relaxation. Our granddaughter called your home our Colorado House for the 10 glorious days we stayed. I tear up just thinking about the warmth and welcome we felt every time we came back home. Your home made our visit to Durango extra special. Plenty of clean towels,sheets, and the paper goods were well stocked. We found the house very clean and fell in love with it! We just returned from our Durango trip and talked about how much we enjoyed staying at the "Nothing But Compliments" lodging. The location was absolutely the best in Durango, being close enough to town, yet still feeling isolated with great mountain views. We enjoyed relaxing in the evenings on the deck watching the sunset over the mountains. Will definitely book again on next trip to Durango area.

Our family made a trip to Durango to celebrate our daughters wedding this house was more than I could have imagined. We have stayed at so many homes in the past but have never had a place that had all of immenities as this house has. If l was to rate it the house would get a 10 star rating. To cook and prepare food on the viking stove, for my daughter's wedding and to preserve it in the sub zero fridge. Was every chef's dream! Having the bonus kitchen downstairs was awesome as my daughter baked all of the sweets from there. The downstairs is so private with an over abundance of space, and not to mention Morris had stocked the cupboards with any incidentals needed in case of running out of anything . I Loved when I did have down time, to sit on the deck and enjoy all of the bueatiful grounds and nature. Even our fur babies had so much fun in the enclosed pen. Our stay was wonderful but all too short. We tried to do way too many things to really enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the property. The kitchen and front deck were great for gathering. We spent most of our time there, cooking on the beautiful stove and working puzzles with the little ones in the front deck. The whole house was wonderful for a family to be together - so comfortable and homey. We loved the great art and music collection! Everything was perfect and I will definitely let anyone visiting Durango know about this wonderful place!

What a lovely home! The intentionality and thoughtfulness was found in every room. We found the architecture particularly beautiful and intriguing. Sunset viewing, late night stargazing, and family table for games were our favorites. It was also a perfect location just a few minutes from town but felt private, nestled in the woods.
