Not having a dryer

The bed covers were extremely dirty and smelt. We asked the host to have them changed but despite him telling us he would they didn't. There are was a blood mark on the inside of the duvet and we had to purchase sheets to spread over the bed to sleep on!
The parking mentioned has restrictions and is not free to park all the time it has restricted hours so in all transparency the booking should have mentioned this. The inconvenience of moving the cars around constantly.
The carpets in the entrance were filthy and visibly very dirty requiring a deep clean. Surprisingly only the bathroom was actually clean.

location
no mirror in bathroom, only 1 mirror lent against the wall in one bedroom, no lock on bathroom door. parking 20 mins walk away , we only stayed over night, so the shortage of seating for 5 ( there is sleeping for 6 ) was not a problem any longer and it would have been.

Really clean, modern, spacious and only 15 minute walk from the Barbican

Good beds, nice outdoor space with a bbq!

The property was spacious
There was a musky damp smell on entering. The carpet was dirty and need a clean. The walls had finger prints and marks. Living Area - Sofa stained and well used, remote control not working, curtains needed to be re-hanged.
Bedroom 1 - Furniture broken
Kitchen - Dishwasher not working, and not secure, dish towel needs replacing as well used.
Patio - advised this was a garden, space has BBQ which is not usable, no chairs, small table outside
Bedroom 2 - Damp on the walls, mattress well used
Bedroom 3 - Mattress and sheets were urinated, and the smell was awful (was unable to use this bedroom)

spotlessly clean, and comfortable beds
the house sleeps 6 guests but there were only two bowls, 4 plates, 4 forks and minimal glassware, nowhere near enough for 6 guests. under equipped kitchen no bottle opener and only one small kitchen knife for example. one small bath towel each, no hand towels provided. the booking was expensive so lack of basic kitchen supplies was disappointing

The beds were comfy and it was an easy 20 minute walk into Plymouth. Bedrooms were lovely, decor was co-ordinated, huge comfy bed and were much cleaner and career for.
There is no street parking. There is parking on a street a few minutes away on an industrial estate. The house itself felt unloved. We visited at easter, the beginning of the season, and walls needed painting, cushions a bit tatty, and it felt a bit grubby. I needed to start by cleaning the toilet as it had what I hoped was me around the seat, our and top of bowl. No mirror in bathroom. White towels had seen better days looking worn and a bit grey. The bathroom is downstairs which may be an issue. Only mirror was in the main bedroom so applying make up, shaving was a bit of a challenge. Dining table only seats 4 so fine if you want sittings or some happy to sit on a sofa. Not enough crockery for 6 and minimal pans etc. The decor scheme was nice just needed some of attention- great potential.

Area was OK and just a walk away from most attractions.
I didn't like not having a working toilet, or the fact it was dirty everywhere beds heavily stained with blood, broken tiles on bathroom floor, broken bannister, dishwasher nearly fell on my grandson, curtains are hanging off, carpets all in need of cleaning, not enough plates or pots, had to dine out so we could all use a toilet, beds broken, drawers all needing replaced, no cleaning products, mold in all rooms, decking area didn't have any seating and the one table was all rusty the BBQ was also in a state of disrepair, sofa and chair both need cleaned we found condom rappers all sorts of rubbish all under both these, no outdoor bin, no lock on bathroom door I have many more issues with the property and photos of all.

The location was better than I thought it would be.
the location was more convenient than I first thought.
the house was just right for us, I would defiantly book again.
the city Centre is only a short walk away.
The road the property is on has permit parking, that was not clear at the time of booking. Fortunately there is free on street parking in a nearby business' park only 2-3 minuities walk, so not a problem
the kitchen is excellent, but needs a bit more crockery, cutlery, and pans, but not a disaster.
could do with a mirror in the bathroom.

location was good for visiting friends.
wet Stain on sofa
cups / glass left around property from previous occupancy.
Garden / chairs all broken , mouldy food on the table & used glass left.
Tv remote missing eventually found under sofa with abandoned socks .
All of the above made us question the general cleanliness of the property.
We requested a partial refund and was offered less than 1/2 which we felt was not good enough ! Booking.com wouldn’t help us and the house agent ignored my messages !!!

Great location, nicely decorated inside with a well equipped kitchen. Clean throughout.
Shower needs fixing as came away from the wall and net curtains need replacing as torn and tatty. The steps to the front door could do with weeding and tidying up as initial impression was a little disappointing.

location

Beds and sofas very comfortable. it was warm and cosy
There was no lock on bathroom door nor was there a mirror. A coffee table in the suiting room would be good as the house sleeps 6 but there is only seating for 4. Somewhere to hang coats is needed. A coffee pot would be good too.

House was clean and bedding lovely. Overall it was very comfortable. Easy walk (10 minutes) to Aquarium and Barbican. It would have been ideal for 4 people. We were able to park free of charge in a carpark 2 minutes away which was definitely a boon.
Felt the house was a little unloved, eg only one mirror, only one bedside table in main bedroom, plug in sink didn't hold water, hole in wall behind toilet, curtains coming away. Obviously run by a business with a few minor maintenance issues . It was adequate for 4 people but dining room was turned into third bedroom, so tiny dining table in lounge. We struggled with 3 adults and 2 very small children to eat comfortably. Maybe a nest of tables would have helped? Bathroom and toilet downstairs (lovely bath and reasonable shower over) through kitchen , which may be a problem for some in the night.

Nothing other than close to food outlets.
Th7ere were numerous things that were very disappointing and not as advertised.
The parking around was none existence as you could not park outside the house or in near by streets. With elderly parents in tow this was not good.
The shower was in need of bleech and a good clean. Hole behind the toilet was not a good feature.
There was only one mirror in the whole house which was not good for men shaving.
The carpets downstairs were shabby throughout and need a good cleaning. In fact some of the decor in the entire is questionable.
The outside barbecue you would never use as it's filthy. The decking has holes in it and a insecure square which is dangerous to say the least. Only two chairs outside for a house that sleeps 5.
The whole experience was disappointing as paid £1103 for 4 nights.
This is such a shame as it has potential to be a nice property.
It just seems like a complete lack of attention to detail with the emphasis being on low budget. Cutting the scouring pad in the kitchen in half...really.
I could go on and on. Not value for money. Very disappointing.

Spacious, free Wifi, fast response when issues raised, fair”ish” price for what you get/ should expect, especially in high season….see below…
As per previous reviews, the most problematic issues were the parking first and foremost, the musty damp smell, well worn furniture, needs a freshen up and the severe lack of mirrors - which sounds pedantic but I promise it isn’t! Oh and the outside space was not used as there was only 2 chairs for a party of 6, and again, all worn and rusty.
Parking is permit holders only between 9am-12pm and 6pm-9pm, so you have to find elsewhere to park if you want to be at the house within those times. In the evening we parked on Elliot Road and got “lucky” with a short walk down the street. Although I didn’t feel comfortable as woman walking around the dark streets moving the car in an unfamiliar residential area.
If you are not lucky enough to get parked just down the road, you have to walk for around 6-8 mins to Cattewater Road, which is off an industrial/ retail area, and a good distance from the house.
The toilet seat fell off, and the sink in the bathroom was blocked. Help arrived within 20 mins which was great, and those things were fixed…but the seat continued to slide about.
The bathroom, although clean on first glance, actually has a lot of mould on the bottom of the shower door and around the bath.
I also bought a plug in air freshener which I have left in the kitchen. Hopefully it gets left so the next visitor doesn’t have the musty smell that we and previous guests had.

The house was extremely spacious.
Good communication with host
Free WiFi
It was frustrating that parking wasn’t available outside the house, we used the car park at the end of the street suggested by the host, it was signposted private property, which concerned us throughout our stay.
On entering the house, there was a stale smell, the hallway carpets and walls would definitely benefit from a freshen up.
The kitchen was spacious and had everything we needed, although the ‘oil splashes’ behind the cooker are such an eyesore.
Bathroom spotlessly clean! Problem with the sink draining, very slow.
Outside area, very tired and overgrown, bbq, table and chairs, dirty and rusty, only 2 chairs for 5 guests.
And to reiterate what other reviews have stated 1 mirror in this property was a real problem, especially not having 1 in the bathroom.
4.9
Fast response from the owner when a question was raised
No parking in the street or surrounding streets all permit holders only
Need clearer directions where you can park as the car park is labelled private
4.9
Proximity to the town centre
Parking was not easy due to parking restrictions.
4.9
Clean and tidy
Could do with more cooking accessories
