Only one TV in whole house, no toilet paper only what was already used

I stay on multiple properties on topsail each summer. This is the only one I have ever had an issue with the host. Beware of a damage scam with this property (which I’m currently disputing with my credit card and VRBO (and grateful for traveler protection/support)).
Aside from the issue with the owner, generally the home has an issue with ants, the kitchen items weren’t clean, and the light switches are hit and miss on if they actually work. For a Wednesday-Sunday stay we decided not to complain because we were at the beach and could cope, but I wish I had sent my laundry list of issues over knowing how petty Christina P is willing to be.

Got to a property that was obviously closed up for a long time. We cleaned for 2 plus hours and made it tidy. The beach was terrible where the property is located we had to drive 6.3 miles to public parking to gain beach access. Not disclosed. The property was in a rural and nothing unique and neat it. Would highly recommend a more comprehensive write up. But suffice to say we will not be back.

Our trip was lovely. The house was cozy and exactly as described. This trip was a much needed time away together for our family. The host was very helpful and patient.

While there is minimal beach access during low tide, it isn’t ideal for a family day at the beach. There is a public beach about a mile away that you can pay to park at though. Bring your water shoes for sure.
After planning, prepping and shopping for the 5 days of cooking on a charcoal grill we found that there isn’t a grill. I asked the owner where it was located and they responded that they don’t have one. All of the information provided ahead of time and printed and framed in the living room included grill instructions.
Although the house is cute, it could have been much cleaner and have better cookware. The location is beautiful and the sunrise was epic.
Once we arrived home we received an email from the owner stating they have charged us an extra $220 fee for brining a dog that they captured on their camera. My dogs stayed in NY with my pet sitter and I most certainly did not being a dog into their home. I can promise they have zero proof of something that simply did not happen.
Be careful with this location. We’ve been utilizing rental properties for several years now and this was our worst experience. We intentionally respected their home, left it cleaner than we found it and they still tried to add an extra fee.

Beautiful View of the beach from the stairs, nice clean spacious house, quiet area. Beach is right across the street. Unfortunately no access to the beach unless you walk down the street a good distance. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again!!

Great house with a view of the ocean. Enjoyed this found gem for my daughters sweet 16 weekend with my family and friends. Perfect for 8. All question were answered in a timely manner. The laundry service provided was such a great addition by the owners.. Linens were clean and fresh. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet end of the island stay.

The beach house was a just walk to the beautiful ocean! The kitchen had enough pots, pans, etc for us to cook at home. The bunk house was cute and functional. It was a wonderful few days!

We only stayed 2 nights at this property. When we checked in it was better than what I was expecting. The outdoor shower was very convenient! I also did not mind the short walk to the beach. The location was very quiet and the view of the ocean was beautiful. We brought our dogs along and this property was very accommodating for them. We arrived around 130 and the linen company dropped fresh linens around 3. Kudos to them, they were fantastic as well! The home was neat and clean on our arrival.
I hope to book this property again next year for a LONGER stay!

Perfect location, easy walk back and forth to the beach. No need to drag coolers to the beach. Quiet neighborhood, 15 min drive to grocery store, cvs and a couple of beach stores for souvenirs. House had everything we needed for a enjoyable stay.

Communication with the host was great! Always prompt in responding. We had no issues with our stay overall. The rooms were clean. The linen service they used had everything ready to go when we arrived. The only slight issue we had was the wifi information was incorrect, but we were able to figure it out, well the teenagers did, I'm not a techy person. So not sure that I would have. That may need updated on the website, but really a minor issue.
House is in an incredible location on a quiet street. It is close to an icecream shop, and a restaurant. It is also a short drive from the pier. Beach access was super close and my 81 year old grandma had no trouble with the short walk.
Overall it was a great stay for a quick vacay. Will look into booking here in the future.

My family (husband, son, daughter and dog Maizey) stayed for the weekend for a relaxing Mother's Day and it was so nice! We love N Topsail and the house was just right! Plenty of space, everything we needed for our stay and a really short walk to the beach. It was so convenient having the hose and shower downstairs to rinse all of our stuff and our selves off after a day at the beach too - that was such a great bonus! We hope we can stay there again in the future!

This was our first visit to North Topsail. We loved the location because it is away from the hustle and bustle of the shops and restaurants. The house was close enough we didn’t need to lug a cooler to the beach we could walk back to the condo for lunch and head back out for our afternoon session. Couches and beds were comfortable for winding down at the end of a full day on the beach. We were bummed the outside shower is not enclosed. Having been former residents of the Outer Banks, we miss is showering outdoors and look forward to that on our visits to the beach. Other than that our stay was great and we look forward to booking again.

Good property location for a quiet time at the beach that is very close to a public access point. Small kitchen that is nicely supported by pots, pans, etc. coffee maker and small microwave. Living room space is a bit on the small side but comfortable. Wi-Fi and smart TV worked great. Pretty decent bargain compared to other homes in the area. Host communicated prompts and check in was a breeze.

The listing advertised a full range kitchen with utensils that could be used to prepare our meals. All of the utensils and supplies were dirty and had to be washed before using. There were no pots and pans to cook on the stove so must of our groceries went to waste. There was old food left in the fridge from the previous renter, the microwave was disgusting and was not cleaned before we arrived and there were tubs filled with linens that never got removed our whole stay even after messaging the owner about it. The location was great and the view was amazing, but the inside of the home itself could of been much better. Will be staying at a different beach house the next time our family comes.

A perfect get away for my family. The place was just as advertised and was very clean. Host was quite responsive to questions. A dishwasher might have been nice but certainly not a deal breaker.

Location was great. Beach was the nicest I’ve seen in NC. The sounds of Marines practicing to defend our freedom helped us sleep well at night. Linen and towels were in great shape. The place was tidy, but not clean. Property owner was quick to respond with messaging. Only issue was no lighting under the carport.

Great stay as always
We returned for this year's memorial day weekend and had a great time. Kids and our dog had a blast as well as the adults. The host was very responsive and we recommend the beach house to anyone with kids and pets.

Lovely beach stay
We had a great time here. Very nice, comfortable property and within walking distance of the beach with a toddler and infant. We had some issues with the smart lock but Chris got back to me right away and helped figure that out. Otherwise, a quiet and relaxing stay even with the 2 kids 😄 I would recommend for any couples or small families for sure!

Memories Made
Great place to stay. Host was in communication with us from the beginning. Home was in a great location very close to beach access. Enjoyed waking up to the beach from the bedroom window. We hope to return next year to make more family memories. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Clean, comfortable house!
Very comfortable house with ocean view from deck. Although across the road from beach access, it is a short walk. Highly recommend this place for family and friends to enjoy vacation close to beach. It's beautiful

Worst $4500.00 I have ever spent. False advertising!!
I will never recommend your company for any kind of service! I had no TV and Internet, kitchen cabinets smelled of mild dew! I think I should be refunded some of my money for all the problems that occurred!!!

Maintenance need to look at
Cleaning crew should test all lights to ensure they are in working order. Both bedrooms had brunt out light bulbs in overhead lights. Smoke alarm needed new battery- chirping upon arrival.

Family time
Spent the week with daughter and her family. The kids loved the beach. Bunk beds were perfect for them. Making memories for my family now instead of forgetful gifts.

Very nice overall
The house had all the basics covered and was in close proximity of the beach, however getting to the beach is a bit of a walk because of closed accesses. We didn’t mind and one could drive and park.

We Would Stay Here Again
Overall this was a nice property. It was Dog Friendly which was one of our main reasons for choosing it. Our dog was very happy here! It was a nice sized unit, with sleeping space for many people. There were only two of us, so we didn't use most of the beds, but we really liked the room with 4 bunk beds. We thought our grandchildren would have loved it! We chose this part of the island because other family members had rented units in the same area. We quickly learned that we were about a block off the beach. There wasn't a lot of the ocean we could see or hear, but access to the beach was close by and easy to get to. The beach itself was beautiful. Very clean. We also learned that this part of the island has very few stores or restaurants. It takes almost 30 minutes to get to the end of the island which has many more attractions/stores. We also went off-island to get food and supplies.
We loved the picnic table and chairs available under the house, in the garage area. We invited other family members over for dinner one night and used all of these items.
Initially, I had a few concerns when we first arrived. There is a large bush/tree next to the stairs that take you up to the entrance. It was much too fragrant for my allergies. It was also attractive to many, very large flying insects that we never did identify. They seemed to be more present at certain times of the day, but did keep us from using the deck at those times. We did think that possibly this problem would only occur during the spring season as the tree was blooming. Our first observation was that the mini-blind in the front window was broken. This made the property look sloppy and would be an easy fix. We rolled the blind up, tucked in the broken part, and closed the curtains. As we didn't use that bedroom, it was not a problem after that. We had trouble opening and re-closing the lock box to get the key. One last item was that there seemed to be some plumbing problems - especially with the front bathroom. It was very difficult to flush the toilet. As there were only two of us, we were able to just use the other bathroom.
We truly enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. It was quiet and relaxing.
Note that it is necessary to climb the deck stairs to access the house. People with mobility issues would have a hard time with this. For anyone else, it is not a problem.

Pros: The owners were very communicative and helpful, it was quiet, the beach access was across the street and 2 or 3 houses down, easy walking distance, nice tv with lots of streaming subscriptions, so my son could watch Paw Patrol while waking up from his nap. It was available with relatively short notice for a relatively low price.Cons: Slightly janky house in general. One of the bathrooms has a door to the outside, some of the finer details were worn, the outside shower didn't have any hot water (it looked like it did, but the tap didn't do anything), which was tough on our toddler when it came to cleaning up sand. It definitely could have been cleanerNeutral: It's at the very northern end of the island. That puts you a 20 min drive away from most of the food options, but if you don't mind a little drive then it's not a big deal. The beaches up there are pretty quiet so it's not really good or bad, it's just a trade-offIf you can deal with it being a little rough around the edges then it's a great little place. It was what we needed it to be. If you go to topsail to spend a lot of time in the house, you're doing it wrong.

The house is overall a decent value. In general it's clean and accomodated our family of four very well. Renting through VRBO can drive the cost up significantly. So, pay attention to the additional fees added to your nightly rate. It's probably best to spread those out over more than two nights. The location is a little less than ideal because of the rising tides. The public beach area close by is small and lined with giant sand bags to slow erosion. It is convenient and only a short walk, but if you compare it with other beaches in the area, it's inferior. In my opinion, it's worth considering the short drive south (five minutes) to a few of the other public Topsail beaches. You should also note that you are basically at the end of the island. Outside of the local Tiki Bar and Mini Mart, you're about a 15-minute drive away from groceries and dining. Although we rented in late October, the weather was still warm. Unfortunately, we did not have a functioning air conditoner. The owner said that she sent someone out to take a look but we did not notice a change. Luckily, we were able to open the windows and turn on all the ceiling fans, which made it tolerable. I struggled a bit with the windows - I just don't think they have been opened much and the sills were dirty. One window I had to prop open with a can of Lysol because it kept sliding back down. Additionally, some of the blinds were in bad shape. We were not able to connect our phones and laptops to the Wi-Fi on the Snoring Shores side of the property, but the owner provided the password to the adjacent property. So, eventually we were able to get connected.Despite some of the annoying hiccups, at the end of the day, you're at the beach and it's hard not to relax, forget about life's stresses, and enjoy yourself. And that's what we did.

The facility wasn't especially clean, especially during a pandemic. barely any handsoap to use. got my own. light bulbs were burnt out. couches were not very clean as werent the pillows. Brought our own linens. I hand washed all the dishes we used before usage and after. Tree branch to get into under garage scratched my truck. Needs to be trimmed back .
