About this house rental
Reconnect with your family, your partner, or old friends at this beautiful, quiet lakefront house. Create memories that will last a lifetime.
Just look at that sunroom, with a fantastic view of Sandy Creek Cove. Enjoy several seating areas in the sunroom, the deck, the living room, or the patio below. Go up six steps in this split level home and you will find the dining table and well-stocked kitchen, or use the charcoal grill downstairs on the patio.
Great primary bedroom suite (shower plus Jacuzzi tub) and second bedroom are upstairs. Downstairs is the third bedroom with a queen size bed and a great couch to sleep on, if needed. NOTE that the downstairs has a separate entrance and, I’m afraid, NO BATHROOM. Add to that the pull-out couch in the living room and you have four queen size beds for your group.
Relax outside in the hammock, fish, swim, or gather round the fire ring. Two kayaks are available for your use.
Within 20 minutes are restaurants, golf courses, bowling, a casino, and Lake Livingston State Park (details at house). Or catch your dinner right off the dock - it seems that the catfish are always biting. Great sunsets and a bird nesting ground nearby.
You have access to all that Heron's Nest has to offer, inside and out. Due to HOA restrictions, we can only have a maximum of 8 people.
Included in your rental:
*Well equipped kitchen: plates, bowls, glasses, pots/pans, mixing/serving bowls, utensils, basic spices & condiments, coffee maker and coffee, waffle maker, and of course a blender!
*Charcoal grill, fire pit, hammock, and two kayaks.
*WIFI throughout the house, Netflix, DVD/VCR player.
*Lots of board games and frisbees for the back yard
*Towels and all bedding
*Hair Dryer
*Washer and dryer
You should bring:
*Water toys and fishing gear (and license)
*Lawn chairs if you plan to use the campfire
*Food & drinks
*Personal toiletries
*Camera and binoculars
*’beach’ towels if you plan to swim
The House is not specifically child-proofed and the water is, of course, a hazard. Please supervise children carefully.
Easy parking for three cars on premises. Absolutely no parking on street, per HOA rules. Not suitable for large gatherings. Three night minimum on holiday weekends. Early check-in or late checkout MIGHT be available for a $50.00 fee.

The booking process was seamless. Host provided all the information we could possibly need. At the rental there was even a small book with information about the rental, community, and the surrounding area including restaurants. A great stay and a better view/access of the lake.

My daughter, my granddaughter and myself wanted a fun, peaceful place on a lake. This is the place to go. We brought floats and tubes and spent a lot of time in the water.Ate dinner one night at Chasers. and cooked the other nights. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you might need.

The house is really nice and clean, the beds are great and the view is spectacular. We went there to go fishing, but unfortunately it rained so I'm not sure how the fishing would be, but we enjoyed the house none the less. The host was really kind. We'd stay there again!

This is a great rental. Great views and good fishing spot. The main entrance door could use some work but the other door next to it was just fine. The house has all the utensils for cooking and a decent charcoal grill. All in all we had a good time.

Amazing place to getaway
Everything about our stay was wonderful, starting with the great communication with our hosts and them setting expectations. We were all extremely impressed and had a very relaxing few days. The view is incredible from the sun room. You could not ask for a better place to drink coffee as you wake up. Even better was the sunset. Perfect view of it from indoors over the lake. Indoors because of the heatwave,. We were able to enjoy it with the A/C on. Check in and check out could not be easier and the
place was exactly like the photos. We will come back here next time I visit Texas.

Relaxing place
Excellent location for fishing in a lake that's huge. Walk out to boat lift area and use covered space to fish for a few people or fish off the bank.
Older split level house, but in good shape with excellent view and nice living space for groups of people. Nice kitchen area. Would definitely go back again!

Lovely location
The location is lovely and the house is ok, old but functional, but unfortunately the downstairs bedroom reeked of cigarettes on arrival which we informed the owner. They didn’t offer any remediation to this even though we couldn’t use it due to allergies. We let it go because the location was so lovely. We were then perturbed when the owner sent us two emails arguing about why we were late leaving, I apologized that my 4 year old was sick. She said her house cleaners were waiting and watching us, which is weird, especially because we saw no one. It was an odd experience.

Perfect
I have stayed in several VRBO and this is the cleanest house by far! Communication with the owner was always quick. I was impressed there was plenty of paper goods in the house like toilet paper, most houses usually start you off with a half roll.
Very peaceful neighborhood and great view of the lake.

Big Disappointment
January 4, 2022
I have tried to have the owner contact me about the following, hoping to not have to put this in a review, but there was no response. I think had there been only one or two of these situations they could be overlooked, but there were just too many to make for a pleasant vacation. I have photos of most of the following (can’t photograph smells). As such, this is what we encountered during what was supposed to be a carefree, clean stay.
Items that needed repair:
-The ceiling fan on the left side of the “window room” was so wobbly it precluded use because of safety concerns.
-A lamp in the same room had no switch.
-The master shower had a serious leak (the gasket on the door was falling off).
Lack of cleanliness:
-The outside dining area and surrounding area had trash on it. Used teeth flossers were particularly troubling.
-The master bedroom had a cloying smell to it, and going into the bathroom was another odor. It wasn’t foul per se, but annoying and overwhelming.
-The master bedroom also had the following: floating dust on picture frame to one side of the bed, dust accumulations on the ceiling. I took a blanket from the closet to use and it was stained.
-In the master bath, there was a ceramic tissue-box holder that was empty, and on it a sign saying to use the brown washcloths for makeup removal. There weren’t any brown washcloths.
-The cups in the master bath were not washed, having dried toothpaste in the bottom and lip marks on the rims. Gross.
My adult daughter had a seriously unpleasant experience with one of the residents on the street. She had gone kayaking, and got too close to a pelican rookery such that they flew off. A woman followed the path of the kayak and was waiting at the dock when my daughter arrived, proceeding to scream at her about disturbing the pelicans and how everyone on the street knows not to bother them. Wow. My daughter is from Colorado. Given the time of day and the time of year, the pelicans were neither nesting nor settled in for the night. Surely it would have been better were they not disturbed at all, but to descend like a harpy was so very uncalled for.
I hope the hosts take this not as a criticism grounded in malice, but a group of issues that very much affected the quality of their guests’ stay.

A great spot for a weekend getaway
Sunset views over the lake were wonderful, and it was great to be able to enjoy that from the comfort of the indoors. The owners were kind enough to provide kayaking equipment, too.

Beautiful location and clean, lovely home
Our family spent a few days at this home and had a blast! The home was very clean operational, beds were great, furnishings were very nice and comfortable. The AC worked very well. Neighborhood is secure and has friendly neighbors. Parking is easy and roomy. Boat ramp is only a three minute drive. The location has beautiful sunset views across the lake from the nice deck. We plan to return to this home soon as we can get all of our adult-age kids together again. Owners were easy to communicate with. Five stars!
