CASA MARBELLA is a gorgeous 6700 sq ft upscale luxury residence with housemom included, located 3 minutes walk to one of five private beaches in Hacienda Pinilla, one of Costa Rica's best exclusive gated private oceanside residential communities, 3 minutes from the 5 star JW Marriott , with restaurants, and one hour 10 minutes from LIBERIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ( Daniel Oduber.) This 4500 acre wild life refuge property has 3 miles of secluded pristine beaches, great surfing, world class golfing, tennis courts, pickleball clinics and courts, an outstanding horse back riding facility offering trail rides.

Within the resort we have two small stores for basic items , one next to Malinches and one by the JW . try the Gelato at the JW. They carry wine beer etc within 5 mins.
Villa Real is a small village 10 minutes from our home where we have a couple of supermarkets and a very inexpensive farmers market for produce , fruit and vegetables . We definitely recommend buying your vegetables and fruit there and supporting the local community. Another good store is Simply Fresh on the way to Tamarindo.
You can also order fish on a Sunday for Monday home delivery.. let me know if you are interested. Automercado is the main American style supermarket, 20 mins towards Tamarindo. Carniceria San Martin on right side on way to Tamarindo has excellent grass fed beef and other meats like chicken. Our concierge service can help you with the orders or phone numbers.

Large house, comfortable social areas, two large masters with ensuites. Other bedrooms somewhat awkwardly configured but workable. Pool is excellent (better than the pictures). BBQ did not function properly- thought it was us but apparently it was a known problem and the private chef we hired for an evening had had problems with it before; hence, our not inexpensive catered "bbq meal" was prepared in the oven with negative impact on the quality and experience. Irritating. Stove is old, and the stovetop does not function properly - heat goes up and down on its own. Toaster on last legs. Hot water in the showers could be intermittent. Using toilet paper in toilets is discouraged (yes, there is a sign in each bathroom) allegedly due to "typical to CR" pipe issues beyond the house itself. Net net, this is a nice house which is an upscale rental but not a luxury rental. Hacienda Pinilla is very safe but more isolated than it appears on a map. Roads in the vicinity are in very poor shape. So you are unlikely to be heading beyond at night. People we dealt with were nice but orientation beyond the house per se could be more formal and informative. Within Pinilla, the Beach Club is nice for an afternoon, albeit pricey. CR itself is surprisingly expensive compared to the US, let alone other Latin American countries. JW Marriott provides Pinilla residents/renters a 15% discount at its restaurants, which are reasonable in the context, something we found out on our own.

For my birthday-Adventure 55 Costa Rica was the ideal place for me. This trip had been in the making for 9 months. The photos of the home were eye catching so the home was booked. But the photos did not do the home justice. Walking in the home-it was grand & breathtaking! It accommodated the 8 guests with no problem. The Pacific Ocean is literally less than a 5 minute walk. Brenda with concierge service was an amazing guest relation representative and the private chef, Luis prepared an amazing dinner. The overall experience is unforgettable.

Our family decided it would be great to go to a place we hadn't been before to celebrate my 65th birthday. We chose Costa Rica and we found the perfect house. The house was beautiful, clean, comfortable and had all the necessary features. We especially loved hanging out in the pool while it rained. We went in early June and it did not rain much, mostly in the middle of the night, which was perfect for sleeping. The beds were all comfortable, the kitchen was very open and easy to work with, the bathrooms were very clean and the yard was well-maintained (which the frequently-visiting monkeys also loved). The most important reason we loved this house so much was the incredibly warm service that came along with it. From the owner, Diana to the wonderfully helpful concierge staff - led by Brenda and Mari - to our "house mom", Veronica, who became part of our family during our stay. For many reasons, we thank God for these three, as they were really responsible for much of the success of our vacation. We highly recommend the Estuary Tour, getting a private catamaran (if your group is large enough - we had 8) and the private chef (a treat for the birthday dinner). All of this was arranged by Brenda. The ability to go to the amazing Beach Club was also such a treat. It is close, the staff is great, the pool is wonderful, the restaurant is delicious and the beach offers great relaxation and sunsets. All in all a wonderful experience. I highly recommend renting this home!

We came to Costa Rica for our son’s wedding. The house is the perfect size for a group of 12+ family and friends. The outdoor seating and pool were a nice benefit after a day in the sun at the beach. Close proximity to the beach club, golf, and several local beach spots. Would definitely stay here again.

Staying a bit outside of the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo was great. The home fit all 8 of us comfortably and having a pool for the kids and patio to spend time on was wonderful. Veronica, our house mom, was awesome as well and we would highly recommend having her help with breakfast and house stuff for bit, so nice!

We booked this property a year in advance and I couldn’t be happier that we did! Omar called me a few days before check in and went over everything with me.
It was a group of 13 of us, including a 6,3, and 1 year old. Omar greeted us at the house when we arrived and took his time to go over everything. He even located a pack and play. Everything was so clean.
The neighborhood was unbelievably safe. We enjoyed all that Hacienda Panilla had to offer- including the beach club!
We had the pleasure of seeing howler monkeys every morning and some afternoons right in the backyard.
We were on the fence about the golf cart but ended up deciding we needed it and rented it while we were there. Definitely a fun little ride around the neighborhood.
Omar and the concierge team helped us book a sunset catamaran cruise and also suggested many places to go out to eat. The team answered any questions we had immediately.
For most of the group, this was their first time in Costa Rica. Casa Marbella was so impressive that we have plans to make it a yearly trip. Don’t wait to book this amazing house.

The house was as shown if not bigger. We had 3 families with 5 kids and 6 adults and there was more than enough room to spread out. The kitchen was fully stocked with items needed to make any meal. A nice grocery store was around 20min from the house.
We spent hours at the pool or the beach club a 10 minute golf cart drive away. If you have kids or teenagers the golf cart is so fun for them. The JW Marriott is very close too if you want a nice lunch by the ocean or spa day.

First trip to Costa Rica for several of us in the family and we were not disappointed thanks to the amazing Casa Marbella and Omar and Andres, our concierge reps. First impression of the house was jaw-dropping… beyond a beautiful home - it was more than what we were expecting. The open kitchen and family room leading to the gorgeous pool made it easy for our large family of 15 to hang out. The grounds were impeccable, and being next to the JW Marriott was a win-win as well as being next to the beach club, which gave us options. Definitely recommend renting cars so you can explore the surrounding areas. Diana was wonderful at communicating and great to work with. We’ve decided this will become a family tradition and look forward to staying at casa marbella next year. TIP: many local cevicherias - purchase to go with bring it back so you can enjoy it by the pool with a cold beer and some tortilla chips! Will definitely need a car if you plan to do your own grocery shopping to cook a few meals, which is what we ended up doing since prices at tourist restaurants $$$$. Best family vacation ever!! Our travel group consisted of 3 families with teenagers, totaling 10 people. The house was very comfortable, spacious & most importantly clean. Bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms were occupied by parents, teens for other rooms. Master beds were very comfortable. Grounds were well kept & lush. We enjoyed watching the wildlife-monkeys, raccoon, birds, chameleon, squirrels & bats in the backyard. Pool was clean & so refreshing to dip in after a day of activities. Beach was an easy walk or golf cart drive. Beach Club was nice but we enjoyed hanging out at the house pool more.
Concierge service was so helpful. Omar always responded quickly to our questions & took care of whatever was needed. We enjoyed all our tours-catamaran/snorkeling, zip lining, horseback riding & white water rafting. Omar was great at getting us lined up with the tour & transportation if we decided not to drive ourselves. Our house-mom, Veronica was the greatest. She was so sweet & fit right in. Highly recommend her!
Overall, no complaints on the house. If we ever go back, we would definitely rent again!

By chance, I found Casa Marbella for my family vacation. Little did I know about the Hacienda Pinilla community! It was a wonderful area with 3 private beaches, beach club, golf, horseback riding and mountain biking! And your own Howler Monkeys hanging in the trees to entertain the kids! Casa Marbella was perfect with a beautiful pool, ample space for us to spread out. We ate out and cooked meals in. Modern grocery store not far away. We utilized the owners golf cart and rented a second. We used these all the time to get around the community. The only downside was no water pressure in one bathroom and lack of some basic supplies in the kitchen. The concierge team was most helpful in giving suggestions and arranging for transportation to/from airport and having car delivered directly to the house. Would return in a heartbeat! For restaurants definitely Lola’s and Il Rustico and the Hacienda Beach Club is great for drinks, lunch and dinner. Playa Avellana and Playa Langosta are beautiful.

We had another wonderful trip to Costa Rica! The house was spacious and slept all 9 of us quite comfortably. The 2 identical masters were great for our 2 families. Andres/Mari were very helpful before and during our stay with questions and setting us up with excursions, rental cars and golf carts. Hacienda Pinilla was quite spread out so you definitely need a car. We also enjoyed the golf cart to get to the beach club, jw and beach. We enjoyed the beach club, our favorite beach was Avenallas and loved both the La Leona waterfall tour and catamaran we rented. Would definitely be back.

This is a beautiful property and the hosts were exceptional. Our Conceirge, Daniel was extremely helpful and we appreciated everything he arranged for us. He really made our stay outstanding. Marinas well. We had Chef Luis prepare a birthday meal for ten of us. I can’t speak highly enough of the quality and flavor of his food. If you rent this property make sure you have Chef Luis prepare a meal for you.
Beds were very comfortable and the back patio/pool area was a great place to sit and have morning coffee. Not to mention the monkeys and birds that we saw. Walking distance from the beach. The property is pretty much as its description says. The pictures do it justice. We had a great time and not much point in rehashing all its selling points. They are all correct. It was a great place to stay. We took advantage of all the activities and Dani and was unbelievable in organizing everything. In constant communication with us re our booked activities or for anything else we needed. I spent much time organizing tours, adventures and excursions through him prior to our arrival as I did not want to spend hours organizing once there. We did not rent a car as 12 of us so one car would not have been enough for all of us. (found car rental very expensive for the dates we were there). We ended up shuttling or taxiing to everything which was all organized with Dani prior to arrival. This enabled us to do some drinking without worrying about driving as well. While at the house and going to the various beaches, playing golf, etc. we rented two golf carts plus the owners golf cart. Worked out great. Gave us great flexibility etc.
Loved the location and because the house is in a large gated community (absolutely no fears waking around), beaches were almost deserted. Like having your own private beaches. As mentioned by others everyone is super friendly. Dani and Mari were spot on with restaurant recommendations, although we hired the cook of the house (Lady) for our meals and she presented meals as good as any restaurant we went to. Beach club was a nice change for those who did not want to go on the beach. Kids loved the pool and then being able to just walk over to us on the beach. I would recommend getting at least one car for grocery’s shopping and quick errands. Taxes ere expensive. But depending what your planning could be cheaper than renting a car. You absolutely need golf carts and/or car at this home.
My only thing I would like to mention and that is that the pool at the house is not heated. May not be a big deal for a lot of people. I was not used to that, as most places we book in other countries the pool is heated. Also the month, and time of year we were there it was in the shade a lot of the time. It was explained to me that at other months and times of the year it will be in full sun and warmer because of that direct sun. For me the pool was cold , but kids still swam but not as often as they normally swim. Usually can’t get them out of the water. But most of the time we were at the beach.

Property was exactly as seen on pictures! Huge executive home in a very safe , friendly community! Locals in gated community very friendly and helpful. Amazing quiet beach a 2 minute walk from the house, this beach will also lead you to Beach Club, and Lola's ( about 40 minute walk on beach). We were a group of 11 and decided to use a transport service to where we needed to go as roads aren't the greatest. Dani the concierge was absolutely amazing!! He was always available to help and went above and beyond his duties for our family. We will most certainly be back.

I booked this property for a group of 14 people (4 nights), then 11 people (the other 5 nights).
The host was fantastic. She answered all of my questions in a timely fashion. I needed a house with strong wifi so that some of my family members could work during our stay. She had someone walk all around the house to ensure that the wifi was strong. The wifi was great everywhere including the back patio over looking the beautiful backward.
I had some technical difficulties starting up my international phone service which made initial coordination with the concierge staff difficult. However they went above and beyond to ensure our safe arrival from the airport to the house.
The house is beautiful! The beds were all very comfortable, the air conditioning units were strong, the black out curtains helped us all sleep well. The kitchen is generously equipped with plates, bowls, serving dishes, cutlery, all the tools you would need. The plants surrounding the home are mature and gorgeous. It really helped seeing the beautiful tropical plants to transport us out of our regular lives and into vacation mode. Oh, and the monkeys! We saw eight of them over the bocce court on our last day. Great fun with my family on the bocce court and in the swimming pool.
The whole neighborhood is beautiful. The beach was an easy three minute stroll away. It was my favorite beach that we visited.
Our concierge staff Dani and Mari were outstanding. They assisted with everything we needed. The connected us to an amazing chef who came to the house one night. They also connected us to their housekeeper, Lady, who cooked two fantastic dinners for us.
We opted to rent a van and driver rather than a rental car as no one felt brave enough to drive. Our van service was good but it would have been nice to have more freedom to explore without time constraints.

We had excellent communication from both the owner and property manager prior to check-in. Make sure to download Whatsapp and turn your notifications on so you don't miss info! The golf cart rental was a great addition, but if you plan to leave the greater resort, you will definitely need a rental car. Book excursions in advance with the concierge team as several things were not available for week of booking. The house is spacious and clean. We had a party of 13 ages 9 to 70+, and was perfect. Plenty of room to spread out and find quiet spots to read or enjoy nature.

We spent 11 nights at this home. There were 4 couples. The home has lots of space. The pool was perfect for the 8 of us. The first day of our stay we watched the howler monkeys from the pool. The pool cleaners came frequently and kept the pool very clean. The concierge service was very responsive. I can’t say enough about Dani. On a Saturday we asked if he could go to the Mercado for us and within 2 hours, we had everything on our list. He also scheduled in-home Covid testing for us. He went above and beyond and was very kind and grateful when we tipped him. The Beach Club is a great place to spend the day or have dinner (on Fridays). We parked at the Beach Club and walked down the beach to Lola’s. We all enjoyed the beach walk to Lola’s. Renting the golf cart (s) is a must. There is also a Market in the development which has a variety of foods. We would definitely stay at this home again!!

Beautiful property
Home was beautiful and the location is perfect. I highly recommend renting a car to go into town (Tamarindo) or to drive to excursions. The golf cart is extremely convenient (extra to rent) to have to drive to the beach club to go to dinner at the hotel or pick up a few things at the small local market. Everything was great. The only downside I had was communication with the property manager. We seemed to have some issues there. I found it easier to do some things myself. I ended up getting reservations at three dinner places. I would recommend going to the hotel or showing up to the restaurant and asking for a table “walk-ins” didn't seem to be a problem. Even if you are told they are booked. Pangas beach club in Tamarindo was amazing I would highly recommend it. Also, Il Rustico, and Sabanero steak house (inside JW) all excellent. All in all, it was a great stay and I would definitely say it was an amazing trip we would return to the area in the future.

This beautiful, spacious house very comfortably accommodated our two families (two couples plus four teenagers). The quiet gated community is very private and feels very safe. We enjoyed the tennis courts and the beach club which are a short golf-cart ride away. There is fantastic surfing at Playa Avellana where the teenagers rented surfboards from Lola's, which is an excellent restaurant right on the beach.

Lovely place to relax
Our family of 13 spent a week at Casa Marbella. There was lots of room for us to spread out (9 adults and 4 young children). The kids enjoyed the pool and the wildlife in the back yard (howler monkeys and exotic birds). We hired a private chef who prepared several meals in the well- equipped kitchen. Everything was in working order, but we did have occasional problems with 2 of the downstairs toilets not flushing every time. We were told not to put toilet paper in them (even though signage did not express that). The property manager was changed just a few weeks before we arrived and because of that, our requests for a pack and play, as well as an additional golf cart were not fulfilled in a timely way. The manager was readily available once we were on the property though and made effort to rectify the situation.
We loved the gated community where the house is. Very nice to walk, ride in golf carts and enjoy activities without leaving the secure area. The Beach Club was lovely - pristine beach with very few people. Pretty sure some of us will return!

fabulous home
We had a fantastic time at Casa Marbella. It is a beautiful home with very comfortable beds, couches and chairs. The kitchen was easy to use with every appliance or utensil we could have needed. Tons of space throughout the inside and outside to gather and plan activities or reminisce about great times. The golf cart was indispensable in getting around the neighborhood and out to the beach club and other amenities. The development is magnificent, with a pool and beach club with great food and drinks, and access to a JW Marriott resort with more restaurants, beach and pool. We loved it.

Costa Rica vacation with friends
We had 3 families with teenage kids staying at this house. The availability of 3 king size beds / bedrooms and multiple options of bedrooms for the kids was perfect for our group. We opted to rent the golf cart which was a must to get around Hacienda Pinilla. If you have a group larger than 5 or 6, rent a 2nd golf cart for your stay - it will be well worth it!
Cinthya the property manager took care of all our needs, from arranging groceries before our arrival to transportation and activities.
The reason our stay was marked as 4 stars instead of 5 is there were a few things that needed attention at the property and since we were there at a peak holiday time, they weren’t able to be addressed. One example is the pool lights did not work so we were uncomfortable with the kids in the pool after dark. Unfortunately, we are still waiting on our deposit refund for something we believe was normal wear and tear on the golf cart.
The beach club is great!! Highly recommend going at least once.

Large convenient location near JW
We rented this house to stay in with our wedding party and some friends for the week leading up to our wedding. It was the perfect location with many of our guests staying in the Hacienda Pinilla community or at the JW. The house manager and house keeper were both very nice. They even arranged for a beautiful arrangement of flowers to be put throughout our room on the night of our wedding, since they knew we were there for our wedding. It was very sweet. Overall, it was a good stay. Here are the main pros and cons:
Pros:
-Big with a nice backyard
-Near the JW
-Golf cart available to rent
-Beautiful location
-Comfortable beds
-A lot of beach towels available to use
-Nice and helpful house staff
-Kitchen well stocked with dishes, etc.
-Beach access to a small beach is a short walk or golf cart ride away.
Cons:
-House on the older side (interior decor, etc.)
-Room placement/bathroom placement is awkward (a couple rooms are better suited for children, not really suited for adults)
-Plumbing and appliance issues (but the house manager did try and get them fixed promptly after we told her about it)
-No shampoo and conditioner available, only small soaps
