About this house rental

Our panoramic view of Lake Tahoe will take your breath away from the moment you walk in the door. A photograph is only able to capture a third of the view you will be enjoying from two blocks above the lake.

You will delight in the beauty of Lake Tahoe while soaking in the hot tub as well as relaxing inside the house. It is wonderful to sit in the hot tub and watch the sunset over the water while sharing drinks and conversation with friends and family.

It is equally wonderful to sit in front of the fire and look out at the lights around the shore-line and the moon reflected in the lake.

Our home is situated on an acre with large trees and open sunny areas. It is beautifully furnished and completely equipped. Unlike most rental properties, our home is equipped for our enjoyment as well as yours. We have a large wood stove with a view of the flames, and we provide the free firewood.

In the winder we provide a snowplow service to keep the driveway clear, and we have a large two-car garage.

In the summer we provide outdoor furniture including a dining set and lounge chairs on our 60-foot deck which runs the full length of the house.

The location was very convenient with the most spectacular view! It was the last house on a corner so there was privacy. There were two grocery stores within 5 miles. We enjoyed the kitchen and laundry and the grill and deck and dining room and watched movies. The living room had a mirror so you could see the view even facing away from the deck and lake!! The beds were comfortable and there were three showers and three bathrooms so that was so convenient. There was a bear at the neighbors’ house so that was thrilling while also a good reminder not to leave any food outside- use the bear proof trash box outside and keep your car locked. The directions for the front door and keys was very helpful. The hot tub was so beautiful with a view after a day of paddling in the cold lake. The sunrises were gorgeous!!

What an amazing view, we are so glad we booked this property. The home is cozy, well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, etc. very clean and welcoming. The host was amazing and quick to address questions and even providing recommendations for places in town. You won’t be disappointed. We’ve already booked our next trip here in the winter months.

Our visit was lovely. The view from the deck was absolutely beautiful. I would come again. The furniture (couches and chairs) need to be upgraded. The beds were comfortable. I found it odd that we were requested to wash the spa towels and take the sheets from the beds. Overall our stay was fantastic.

The location is great. It's very private and quiet setting with a spectacular view. We spent as much time on the deck as possible. The house could use a little TLC and updates, but the critical elements (e.g., beds) were adequate. It was very difficult to operate the locks with the key in the lockbox and some of the information provided via VRBO and in the binder in the house is not current, including the contact phone number for the host.

Only thought is that we wish there had been some Tupperware or at least some plastic wrap or foil for food storage, and also some of the kitchen items, particularly the pans, are in need of replacement. However, great place!

Our stay was stupendous! Definitely spoiled for 10 days of Tahoe beauty. We have been staying at the Ridgewood home for 10 years and next summer will be 11. The house is well-equipped, guest friendly, and the view is amazing. From just about every window comes a lake view. A definite treat!

The neighborhood and the view of the lake were INCREDIBLE! The hot tub was in good working order and there was a large table where we all could sit together and enjoy a meal. The only thing that was a problem at times was the temperature inside the house. The listing said there was AC but we were unable to turn down the temperature below 73 degrees on the thermostat. It got a little muggy. We tried to remedy this by opening windows to let some evening cool air in but no windows had screens. As a result, bugs were flying inside. Other than this, the stay was great!

Stayed comfortably with two families (8 people). The number of beds was tight, one teen slept on the couch. Nice kitchen. Great deck with perfect views and a hot tub (and a bird nest + baby birds hidden in the umbrella). About a 20 minute walk to nice beaches if you're ok walking along the big road with no sidewalks (not recommended with small kids).

Our family of four (two adult children) and our dog enjoyed the beautiful view and quiet location. It was a great place to enjoy the majesty of Lake Tahoe. On our last night a mama bear and her two cubs came to play on the front lawn! We quietly watched them from the front windows. A true highlight! (Advise: Park your car(s) in the garage.) From the deck we used our binoculars to see a huge eagle’s nest. And right under the deck’s table umbrella we enjoyed watching a mama bluebird feed her babies. Nature provides the entertainment. The interior of this home is older, but had a lovely cabin-like feel. We enjoyed the hot tub, fireplace, grill and deck. We found the chaise lounges under the deck, but no cushions (as pictured). We recommend adding a new nonstick frying pan and some spatulas to the kitchen, but otherwise well-equipped. The kitchen pantry could use some organizing and some empty shelves for guests, too. We went to Kings beach to paddle board. Gorgeous! (The far end of the beach allows dogs.) We went to Truckee (28 min. drive) to shop. Wonderful shops, but fairly pricey. We hiked the Rim Trail to Picnic Rock (allows dogs). Fantastic, moderately-difficult, uphill and mostly shaded. We saw a deer on the trail! The view at the top is amazing! We also visited the North Tahoe Regional park. It has the prettiest off-leash dog park we have ever seen! Thank you for renting your home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We may return one day!

The porch is the place to be at this home. Plenty of sitting room and that view is stellar. It was only 2 of us but this home is perfect for many more since there’s 3 BR & 3 full bathrooms. Kitchen had about everything needed to make up any meal you can think of. I’d say it’s semi-private setting since there’s a home on one side but the trees & foliage provided some privacy. Master bed was very comfy. Heat & AC worked great. Birds had nested under the patio umbrella & the baby(babies?) hatched while we were there. So sweet! Saw a very large, healthy brown bear walk down the path behind the house & cross over the road in the front of the house. Needless to say, went out & bought some bear spray that day prior to our 2nd hike. ;-) After seeing that beautiful creature I didn’t think my bear bell was quite enough. Ha! Left it at the home for others to take out with them on hikes. We walked the East Shore Trail “hike” on day 1 and that was nice. It’s a paved path so by the end of the trek my RT hip & bootie muscles were screaming at me. Didn’t have that issue on hikes we did in the wilderness. You can also rent regular or E-bikes for the East Shore Trail. One of our fav places to eat & take in the gorgeous scenery was Gar Woods Grill & Pier right down the road from the house. Great beer, food, & ambiance. Pre-planned an Instacart grocery delivery for the morning after we arrived & was grateful to have that option. We'd love to come back someday!

The house was perfect for our friend group to experience all that Lake Tahoe had to offer. The views from the back porch are everything you need and being able to enjoy them from the hot tube is even better. We had 3 couples (6 people) staying in the house and had no problems with space or bedrooms! We would absolutely rent this house again if we make it back to Tahoe. :)

Great location and view. Lots of old furniture bed covers and fixtures. Jacuzzi did not have fresh clean water. Main bedroom sheets (the only ones we used) had bleach stains all over .

The house has a great view of the lake. Lots of snow this year! A roof crew spent one whole day clearing snow off roof during our stay so we were blocked in for most of that day. Other than that, very enjoyable.

Cool spot but there was no firewood and even then the fireplace would not remain lit. Information binder had descriptions that were out of date (TV instructions. No Sony device, No Samsung remote). Instructions by thermostats say not to set below 73 degrees. Assuming that is summertime but not specified. Finally located garage door opener on workbench in the garage itself. It doesn't fit in lockbox so we left it in the binder with previous guests rental car key and smaller, inoperative garage remote. We called the number in the binder about our concerns but never received a call back. Also the trashcan box was buried in snow so we left the bag in the garage with rwo others already there. No detergent for washer so hot tub towels were left on washer.

Great property, great neighborhood, beautiful view! For me, the best part was the hot tub which is ready to go:) Loved it! We had a bit of a mix-up on arrival dates and cleaners so the property was not ready for us when we arrived. That was disappointing as we had a long drive in traffic and then had to try and figure out where supplies were to make all the beds etc. The owner sent cleaners over the next day and was very accommodating. We had a great time and would definitely recommend it.
