About this cabin rental
Rustic and inviting cabin along a lovely mountain creek, borders Pisgah National Forest. You will love relaxing on the deck under the trees listening to the peaceful sounds of our creek. Inside your private retreat you will find a full kitchen, loft with queen size bed and full size bed in the downstairs bedroom. Comfortable dining and living areas with TV, Blue Ray player and free high-speed wireless Internet access. Spend the cool evenings in front of a cozy fire.
Nestled at the base of Mount Pisgah, your backyard is over 80,000 acres of protected National Forest. Enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and long nature walks just outside the front door. Take a leisurely drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, just four miles from the cabin. At Creekstone Cabin you're only a 20-minute drive to Asheville and the best the area has to offer in attractions, entertainment, dining, shopping, outdoor activities, and more.
INSIDE THE CABIN
The upstairs loft is accessed by a narrow spiral staircase to the catwalk (see pictures) leading to the bed area at one end and and the dressing area at the other. Please mind your head up here as the ceiling is vaulted and the highest clearance is only 6 feet. The queen size bed faces creek side, letting you drift off to sleep to its soothing sound. When you awaken, you will find yourself just below canopy level looking down on the moss and rhododendron-covered back yard; a great way to greet your day. The downstairs bedroom has a full size bed that also faces creek side so everyone gets lulled to sleep by the burbling creek.
The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, bake ware and your serving/dining needs. The kitchen has a microwave, toaster, mixer, utensils, paper and cleaning products, and full sized stove and range; everything you need to prepare a great meal. In the cabinet above the microwave you will find growlers to a couple of our local breweries and we hope you put them to good use!
The living area is a great place to relax for conversation or a good book in front of a crackling fire. Enjoy a movie from our library or stream from the cabin's Netflix account or your own streaming service via ROKU. Use your mobile device to stream your own music playlists through the Bluetooth equipped surround sound system. My cabin provides a great blend of rustic feel with modern amenities.
The well lit bathroom has modern fixtures, and offers a shower/tub combination. While small it has what you need, including hair dryer, soaps and shampoo in case you run short, and all your linen/paper needs.
OUTSIDE
The three season deck is just about every guest's favorite feature; a spacious 16' x 20' with gas grill, teak furniture, tiki torches and deck umbrella complete with lights! Great for entertaining, reading, watching the humming birds, goldfinches, and cardinals all to the backdrop of the burbling creek. To sit out here wrapped in the nurturing embrace of the woods will renew your strength and replenish your spirit.
Off the back side of the deck is a path that leads across the creek and into the national forest. Enjoy a short hike to Stony Fork Creek (1/3 mile) or a 3 mile round trip journey up to the abandoned logging road on the ridge line above the cabin. Take a walk down the road and explore the modest homes and cabins in the area.
The Pisgah National Forest and DuPont Forest in the area offer more hiking than a person could do in a lifetime. You will find hiking guide books and maps at the cabin that can help you decide which hikes are right for you. The Blue Ridge Parkway is 4 miles up the road from the cabin offering breath taking views, scenic drives, and (you guessed it!) plenty of hiking.
GRATITUDE
I'd like to say thank you for taking the time to consider booking my cabin. This truly is a special place that is precious to me; I miss living here every single day. My intent is to return and make Creekstone Cabin my permanent residence in 2024, maybe earlier if I'm very lucky. It has been a joy for me to share the cabin with like-minded people, looking for respite from life's demands. I am truly grateful to all my guests; you make it possible for me to hold on to this rustic gem.

We absolutely loved our stay in this Cabin. Very clean, well equipped, quiet neighborhood, comfy beds, and a lovely, lovely porch for relaxing in the evenings after hiking the many trails in close proximity to the cabin, one right out the back door !
We could not have asked for a more relaxing, comfortable, and convenient place to stay for our 42 anniversary. It truly was an excellent vacation experience.

Beautiful cabin along the creek. Close to Blue Ridge Parkway.

Lovely cabin. A creek just steps away from the house and a path through the woods. The host was very responsive to a question I had. It was the perfect cabin to get away from it all for a peaceful vacation. It was also a nice location between Asheville and some great natural features in the pisgah forest.

Very nice quiet mountain cabin in the beautiful Pisgah Forest. Great location for getting on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Convenient to other small towns. Very close to Asheville. Enjoyed our evenings on the deck listening to nature and watching sunset.

This cute little cabin was the perfect place for me and my 27 year old daughter to have our 20th annual mom-daughter trip. We have enjoyed trips all over the world and thoroughly enjoyed this cozy cabin from which we could go on long hikes on trails accessible from the backyard and also get to West Asheville for some delicious meals. Note that it is a good 25-30 minutes away from W Asheville and Asheville proper.

This cabin is clean and cozy. We enjoyed our mini getaway. It was the perfect place to relax and take in the beauty and fresh mountain air. The cabin was equipped with everything you need. Our host John was amazing! He was informative about everything the cabin had to offer and the surrounding area. We loved our evenings making dinner and relaxing by the warm fire. This truly is a Gem!

My wife and I stayed for four nights in late August to celebrate her 60th birthday. We really enjoyed our stay and found the cabin to be very clean and well-stocked. In fact, we've never seen the huge collection of clean towels in any prior rental! :)
We enjoyed meals on the deck and the quiet wooded surroundings. The proximity to Asheville and the BRP made it easy to get into the city as well as lots of nearby hiking.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights for her birthday get away and had a very enjoable stay. Spoke with owner John and expressed how pleased we were with his property. It would be compared to the Shire for Bilbo to stay. Property is very rustic the creek running beside the property with bridges to cross over. The out building with the roof completly covered in sphagnum moss. Great get away place. Will be back in the future. Thanks to Beth for looking out for us and thanks again to John the owner.

My 15 year old asked for a birthday weekend in a cabin. Last year we took him to Universal. My son actually picked out the cabin. He wanted something traditional and quiet. When we got there it was wonderful. As soon as you step out the car you can hear the running water from the nearby creek. Its so peaceful. My son would sit there and just listen and watch the water flow. There are hiking trails right behing the cabin and only a couple of miles drive to the top of the mountain if you wanted something at a high elevation. Its right outside of a Ashville if you wanted to go there. We didn't because my son did not want to do anything but fish and hike. He said that it was so much better and cooler than Universal and asked for a repeat trip for his 16th and maybe a winter trip. You won't be disappointed. The feel of this cabin is so cozy and it has been very cared for. It was hard to leave.

The cabin was perfect. Fully stocked, very clean. It was so peaceful and cozy. The path behind the house led to a large creek. My kids and I loved exploring around and in it. We drove up to the Blue Ridge Parkway every night for stunning sunsets. We loved it so much. We will be back again.

My wife and I stayed July 1-5. When we arrived cabin was easy to find, clean and spectacular location. I think I walked out the back trail before even entering the cabin. Utilized the cabin as home base as we explored the area. We visited Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway, Forbidden Caverns in Tennessee, and plenty of hiking throughout the area including out the back door. Cabin was so peaceful with the creek audible from the open bedroom window. Fantastic cabin will definitely stay again!

If you are a big person, like me, the cabin is a little tight. however, the location is excellent for people who like to hike, or be in nature, and spend time away from the city. The cabin had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The windows do not open but the cabin is air conditioned. The deck is a nice place to spend time eating or reading. The trail out back quickly connects to a national forest trail.

My family of 3 had a wonderful stay at John’s cabin. He means it when he says all you need is clothing and food! The cabin is well furnished with everything you may need. My husband and I have our own walking sticks, so our 5 year old enjoyed using the one in the cabin or finding a stick along the trail. We enjoyed cooking our own meals and spending evenings by the wood burning stove. We spent our days exploring and hiking the trails that are right outside! We were able to spend a couple hours hiking, only crossing paths with others a couple times so we really got to enjoy the forest moving at our own pace on the trails. Hiking to the old logging road a couple times and stopping for a snack and to toss rocks on the water - one of our son’s favorite things to do! We had some rain, but that didn’t stop our adventures! We did go to UJoint - delicious! Hit a couple breweries and spent an afternoon at the Retrocade. We had a wonderful visit and will definitely be back!

This is the second time my grandchildren and I have stayed at John’s and can’t say enough. Very clean and well maintained. Setting is so calm and peaceful with woods surrounding. John was so accommodating and available if needed. This is the perfect place to relax and explore Asheville and surrounding areas.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in Asheville, and the cabin was a great destination for it. It was remote enough for privacy, and access to the Blue Ridge Parkway or driving into Asheville was plenty easy.
The cabin was clean, everything provided helped make our stay easy and memorable. There was plenty of wood and easy instructions for the fireplace (we used nearly every night).
John was very responsive to requests and questions leading up to our stay.
The property itself was great, access to a trail at the rear was cool to check out, and sitting out on the deck in the morning listening the stream with our coffee is a great way to start the morning.

This is a perfect place! Super clean and just the right size for the two of us. The grounds and home itself are very well taken care of and everything is honestly just perfect. Great communication with the owner. Checking in and out was a breeze. Can’t say enough good things about this listing. Highly recommend! We would love to return again in the future. Thank you!

Location was perfect - trails right off the back porch and the gently murmuring creek was so soothing. The cabin was supplied with everything we needed. Great place, hope to come back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Creekstone Cabin. The location offers hiking opportunities in the national forest behind the cabin and is very convenient to trails off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cabin is extremely well outfitted with top notch linens, kitchen goods, and grill accessories. One of the nicest places we have stayed! Sitting on the deck and listening to the creek was very relaxing. We didn’t want to come home!

John’s cabin is perfect for your mountainside vacation. Access to great hiking trails with wonderful waterfalls
Is right out your back door. The cabin was clean, well stocked with fresh,
High quality towels. Sheets were crisp and the bed was comfy. We used the fireplace every night with wood supplied by John. And finding starter kindling outside was easy in the forest! The deck is a huge bonus and very peaceful and relaxing. The creek sounds are so soothing. The kitchen was well outfitted, but we dined out. We will absolutely return on our next hiking trip. Thanks John!

Charming and Secluded
We booked this charming home for our 30th wedding anniversary. It was just the two of and it was perfect!
From the lush landscaping that welcomes you ,to the babbling brook behind the house, privacy was easily obtained. We stayed 3 nights and cooked out on the grill, in addition to utilizing the kitchen.. The kitchen is well stocked with staples so cooking was easy with just a few main ingredients. I believe there was every appliance one could need available.
The lighted umbrella added ambiance to the deck while the tiki torches kept the mosquitoes at bay. Internet was fast. Bathrooms clean. Towels are premium.
The only downside for us was the master bedroom is located upstairs and my wife doesn't do "open" stairs or landings so we slept comfortably in the full bed.
The location is close to the river and downtown Asheville and The Biltmore is a short drive.
Our time passes quickly and ended too soon.
