Stunning location. Unique facility. Owners extremely welcoming and friendly. Breakfast supplies very generous.

There was nothing to dislike. Although some people may find the 78 step climb to the unit difficult.

Amazing views and very unique unit and property. Great outdoor space.

The provided breakfast felt like a bit of an afterthought. Rental unit is full of charm and breathtaking views, but due to the unique design of the space, area for moving about and storing luggage is extremely limited.

A must experience place for the ultimate retreat of relaxation, beauty and nature.

This property was one of the most beautiful slices of heaven I have stayed at. It was architecturally magnificent and honored the Maori land it was located on. The views were breathtaking, there was delicious breakfast fixings of fresh fruit, bread, yogurt and more. Lamees and Fred were excellent hosts and we couldn’t have for a better escape to the hills and lakes of New Zealand.

Outstanding and unique

Amazing place! The location is outstanding, not only the view, but the villa and the apartment is something original and unique, perfectly nestled in the beautiful natural surroundings, full of NZ plants, trees and birds. Loved every details and the decorations. Good natural breakfast was made available (fruit, jam, coffee, yogurt). Owners were really welcoming and caring and they also helped me with something I wanted to buy after the check out.

I would always suggest to avoid Roto-vegas and I would likely choose this accomodation in the future for many reasons, but I must say the apartment was a bit cold and humid (unfortunately it rained all the time) and that should be improved somehow. Moreover I would not recommend it if you are travelling with many luggages or have mobility issues (there are quite a few steps to get to the last floor). Parking space may be a bit complicated if you have a very big/long car.

Absolutely amazing!

A jewel in front of Tarawera Lake and Tarawera Mountain. An incredible romantic place, full of romantism and erotism, designed in a perfect symbiosis with the beautiful nature around, by the owner. The view from the bed was amazing, the birds singing every morning was a big add on to this exceptional experience. The owners are very nice, helpful, with big smiles, and they did take care of everything. Thank you very much!

The weather was not very good, but obviously this is not something that could be fixed. Anyway, we managed to enjoy every moment in Rotorua.

The perfect retreat, with a view that takes your breath away with its beauty

The view, the location and the architecture. The property was secluded and just amazing and beautiful. we had our own little slice of paradise and didn’t want to leave. This homes design to pay homage to the Maori culture was also just incredible. we will be back for sure

there is little to fault this property on, my only thoughts would be to have the ability to cook your own meals eg a portable cook top or access to a bbq. only because we would have loved to have been able to have that option so we could have a beautiful cooked meal while watching the sunset over the lake as the view was exceptional

We felt quite fortunate to have found this hidden gem and to be able to share it with the owners.

The feeling of seclusion and being tucked away in nature while having the luxury of scenic views and the comfort of the necessities of life.

There wasn't anything not to like.

An incredibly unique stay.

The entire property is absolutely beautiful with such interesting details. Loved how it integrated Maori elements into such a modern design. The treehouse, perched in the trees high above Lake Tarawera, has the most stunning view. The perfect place to relax and only 20 mins from Rotorua.

There were a few bugs - but it is to be expected with the location and repellent was provided.

Fantastic weekend getaway

The whole accommodation is fantastic. Very kind and accommodating hosts and also paid extra for the kiwi bath which was well worth the money. Would go again.
