Excellent communication with Rob right from the start. He was so helpful in suggesting delightful restaurants in the area. He came immediately to help us with the Nespresso machine and replaced the RV when it wouldn’t work. The house itself was just as described.. Very clean and comfortable. The washer and dryer was great to have so we didn’t have to pack too much. Location was perfect for us exploring all up and down the coast of Maine.

We had a wonderful stay at the Green Gables home in Wiscasset. The facilities were exactly as advertised. The central Wiscasset location provided ample opportunity for great walks and plenty of nearby great food. Wiscasset served well as a locus for exploring other Coastal Maine towns. We had several very insightful conversations with the host family. They were most helpful to us as we selected places to visit and explore. I would highly recommend this Vrbo rental to anyone interested in kicking around Coastal Maine from Portland to Belfast.

We appreciate Rob's help carrying our bags upstairs, moving the cable TV box to our place and his warm welcome. There were some nice furnishings and decorating in the apartment. The bed was very comfortable and the AC kept us cool.
Most places we have stayed have a notebook or file folder with instructions/info about the place. There was no written information here, so we did not know what to do with recycling stuff. I couldn't find a dish washing tub nor a stopper for the drain in the sink. I ended up using a pot to wash the dishes in. The apartment was clean for the most part, but some red flags: big smear across the mirror over the bathroom sink, lots of grease on the control panel for the stove--it had clearly not been cleaned and not everything was dusted. I spilled coffee grounds in front of the microwave and pulled the microwave out to clean underneath. Big mistake: an old, gross spill under the microwave. One of the curtains in the bathroom was inside out. There was a tissue box container but no tissues.
I hope I'm not being too persnickety and that this is information is helpful for our host!

This is an adorable little apartment; small but serviceable for two people. It has a kitchen, washer and dryer, window A/C, and several stuffed chairs for lounging around when you're not out and about. Free parking is also provided. The proprietors, Rob and Sara, are lovely, and very helpful. The one caveat is that it's on the 2nd floor, with 16 somewhat steep stairs between you and the outside world. At our age (70) this was a challenge. Maybe for you, not so much!

Centrally located, perfect for small family
We really enjoyed our stay at Green Gables! My husband, two daughters and myself stayed for a week, and were in a great location to get to all local attractions in a timely manner. Having a kitchen and laundry facilities made things very convenient with little ones. It was extremely clean, no sign of bugs or critters. We were in a heat wave, and the window units were sufficient for keeping the apartment comfortable. Some activities we were able to do within 25 minute drive of Green Gables: coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (which was amazing for kids!!), the aquarium (a little disappointing, but fine for an hour and is not expensive), railway village (so fun!), whale and puffin watching out of Boothbay Harbor, Freeport outlets, and blueberry picking at fairwinds farms. We had a fabulous Maine vacation!! Thanks to terry and rob for being extremely communicative throughout the process, and for their recommendations.

The location was perfect for us as we were visiting our daughter who lives 5 minutes away! Our stay was good. The 2nd floor apartment was a perfect size. We did have a couple of issues, but Terry the landlord, was very good to work with in getting the problems resolved. We look forward to staying at Green Gables again the next time we visit our daughter and her family!
Being 1/2 block from Red’s is an added bonus!!!

It was a very warm September and the bedroom down stairs only had a window unit which was too noisy for my wife so it was a bit warm at times trying to sleep. The location is super and easy walk to almost everything. The owners are extremely nice and made sure the place was very neat and clean.

Terry was an amazing host for our weeklong stay in Wiscasset! The apartment was very comfortable for us and our toddler, the town is lovely, and the location in Midcoast Maine is ideal for visiting the surrounding area.

Charming attic apartment in the heart of Wiscasset.
The apartment is cozy and the hosts were very helpful and welcoming upon arrival. The furnishings were comfortable and the place was clean. It also was well set up for cooking and the owners provided good quality coffee. Would recommend for couples and small families but there are 2 flights of stairs to climb, so not accessible to those with mobility challenges. The suite was just off the Main Street and as such it was a perfect location. We enjoyed Red's Eats" as well as Treats,, the little coffee shop on the corner.

Peaceful getaway
Even though the house was just off Hwy 1, it was very quiet. We stayed in the bright upstairs apartment. Check in and check out were super easy. The kitchen is well equipped, we cooked most meals, even though there were plenty of dining options. Location was perfect for us, not too far from Boothbay Harbor, Popham Beach, Damariscotta (we even went blueberry picking in Bowdoin!). We've already recommended this spot to our friends and family. Thank you, Rob and Terry!

Lovely stay in a quiet and friendly town!
We really enjoyed our stay at Green Gables! Our family of four stayed in the third floor apartment, which was just the right size for us for a short visit to Wiscasset. (Our teenage son slept on the sleeper sofa and found it really comfortable.) We had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Rob was great about communicating with us before the trip and Terry was super friendly and helpful while we were there. We enjoyed exploring the shops in town, as well as the flea market and Antique Barn just outside town. All four of us really enjoyed a visit to Monkey See Monkey Do, a high ropes/zipline course nearby. We ate at Red's on our first night in town. Thanks to Rob's advice, we knew to try for an evening time (little or no lines) rather than lunch time. Our Maine trip later took us to other parts of the state, but we really enjoyed starting our visit in a quiet and friendly town. Green Gables is just off Rte. 1, so it's a great location for exploring Wiscasset or venturing further afield to Bath, Boothbay, or beyond.

Great location, comfy house
The third floor was just right for our family, the kitchen is easy to work in (be sure to bring your own oil, sugar, etc.), the deck is lovely in the afternoon...and hey, a friendly Texan welcoming you to Maine!
Maybe someday the Wiscasset shops will decide it's worth staying open past 5pm, we missed them over the whole weekend. ;)

Great apartment centrally located for day trips
We stayed at Green Gables in August of 2016 in the 3rd floor apt. It was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Rob and Sara were great hosts, very nice and helpful. We had a great week in a Wiscasset. It's not a large town with lots of nightlife. Instead it's a perfect getaway; peaceful and quiet, but it has a little bit of everything. A quintessential Maine small town with an excellent coffee shop/bakery around the corner, several antiques and art galleries, a few restaurants, cafes and bars. There's a beautiful waterfront and a "Museum in the Streets" walking tour of Maine architecture. The town has a good deal of late 18th and early 19th century buildings. It's a short distance from many of Maine's best places to visit and so it's a good choice for a base of operations. It's well known as the home of lobster roll competitors Red's Eats & Sprague's. It is also very well located for day trips into the surrounding area.

Gorgeous historical property centrally located
My family and I rented this property the week of July 4th and we had a truly memorable Maine experience. The house is recently renovated while keeping the historical charm of New England homes. The property is only feet away from restaurants and shops. Rob, the property manager, had many recommendations including Red's Lobster Shack which has the best lobster rolls in New England. We must have ate there 8 times during our stay! The house is right off Highway 1 which allows you to take many day trips to different parts of Maine. We also enjoyed whale watching, stripper fishing at Booth Bay Harbor and Pemequid Beach all of which were recommendations from Rob. If you want the true Maine experience stay here!

First vacation in Maine - absolutely delightful
I rented the upstairs unit at Green Gables with my wife, son, and nephew. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and charming. The location was great - very close to Red's Eats, a famous spot for lobster rolls. There were numerous antique shops within walking distance.
The owner, Terry, was fabulous. He lives just down the block. I enjoyed talking to him about the house and coastal Maine. He was willing do do whatever it took to make for a pleasant stay. I remember him helping me get the lobster cooker going in the middle of the night!
I would definitely recommend this rental.

Wonderful stay at the gorgeous Green Gables!
We spent 2 memorable weeks at Green Gables, Wisscasset. We found it to be everything we hoped for and more. It was spacious, bright, beautifully decorated and comfortable with all mod cons. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, giving us lots of tips for things to see and do on our visit.
Wisscasset itself truly is one of the most picturesque towns in New England. We spent many evenings at Sarah's restaurant across the street, with it's kid friendly atmosphere and good food it was the perfect place for us to enjoy a meal and keep our 2 year old entertained at the same time. Macs cafe nearby is a must for a tasty dessert and coffee and of course world famous Reds Eats across the street served the most delicious lobster, we found the queue in the evening to be a lot smaller but it was always worth waiting for!
We would often take a stroll home along the harbour and grab a cheeky icecream at one of the stands along the way.
Wisscasset was also the perfect base to explore other nearby towns like Boothbay, just a 20 minute drive away which had fantastic restaurants and fun activities like kayaking, boating and whale watching to name but a few. There are also many scenic beaches and lakes to explore.
Some evenings we would watch the sun go down and sip a drink on the porch at Green Gables with our hosts discussing possible activities for the next day as our toddler played in the big garden.
Having travelled all the way from Dublin, Ireland to visit Maine we had high expectations, Green Gables and Wisscasset didn't disappoint. We will definitely be coming back!

Quintessential Maine!
Our family just returned to NJ from an idyllic vacation in Maine and I must say Green Gables was the absolute perfect home away from home... it was quaint and sweet and amazingly located, as we loved walking and biking around town (and stopping by Red's Eats of course). It was also really convenient to make day trips to Boothbay Harbor (lots of activities like kayaking and boat trips), Pemaquid Lighthouse, Damariscotta, Camden and much more. The beautiful Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens are not to be missed! Thanks to Rob's many tips, we were never short of things to see and experience. And oh yes, Mac's is the best place in Wiscasset for a cappuccino and decadent desserts (their crab rolls are pretty awesome too). A lovely hidden jewel is the Butterstamp workshop and gift store... it's a leisurely stroll from Green Gables. We'd like to thank Terry for his warm Maine hospitality and yes, the lobster pot and gas stove was a lovely additional touch to our stay. We could not have asked for a nicer place to stay in mid coast Maine... we are definitely going to return to Green Gables!

Had a wonderful week in Wiscasset
My wife and I had a wonderful time staying here. It was very clean and well maintained, and the host was charming and eager to see that our time in Wiscasset was well spent. We really liked having the yard to relax in after the sunset to eat lobster and drink cold beer!
Wiscasset is a very picturesque town with plenty of historical buildings to visit and explore. My wife and I spent our mornings walking the streets and our afternoon exploring nearby villages. The local restaurants served up delicious seafood. We took a boat tour on another day and checked out the nearby beaches. The weather was perfect! And at night the air would cool off and we could sleep soundly with the windows open.
Our five days in Wiscasset was certainly one of our better getaways!
