If your idea of a beach vacation does NOT include crowded beaches, high rise buildings, traffic, and cruising through a multilevel parking garage trying to find a place to park, this is your vacation home. Cape Coddages II has only 14 units and if you don't like waiting for elevators, this condo is just one flight up (this building has NO elevator). Why search for a parking place when you can stay where two parking spaces are specifically marked for you? This is a delightful oceanfront two bedroom with a great pool, and the perfect beach and ocean view.
The swimming pool is exclusively for guests at the small Cape Coddages II complex, it won't be crowded. You can relax on the lounge chairs while the kids swim. After enjoying the beach, there is an outdoor shower area to wash off the ocean and sand. Here, every day offers a choice of shopping, golf, and attractions from the convenient Surfside Beach location, or just relaxing on the balcony or the beach enjoying the sunshine.
Inside, comfortable furnishings are ready for rest after days of activity, delightful decor keeps the "beach vacation" spirit in every day. Two bedrooms each have a queen size bed with memory foam cushion for perfect sleep every night. Ample closets and dressers provide plenty of storage space. Two full bathrooms and the bedrooms are on the same level as the living areas, no stairs to climb to bedrooms. There are TV sets in both bedrooms. The living room couch is queen size sofa sleeper. The fully equipped kitchen includes a full-size refrigerator, stove with oven, microwave, toaster, small appliances, pots, and pans. Dishes, glassware, and tableware are on hand. Good View
The view and location was the best part of this condo. There were some issues such as air problems- that the owners fixed promptly which we appreciated. Overall the place wasn’t the cleanest, our bed had sand in it when we got in it the first night, and we saw a few roaches throughout our stay. The stairwell closest to our room was taped off which was an inconvenience when it came to loading, unloading, and getting our toddler in and out. The second parking spot was also awful as it had us cornered in between a large SUV and fence, therefore we had to leave the second car parked most of the week. We enjoyed our stay but wouldn’t stay again.

Peaceful, beautiful and clean!!
Our stay was during Spring bike week 2022. This location was just far enough away to not hear the rumbling of bikes all night or have to witness the inebriated bikers after a rowdy night. We didn't get the opportunity to bring our bikes with us, instead we brought a rail/dune buggy. There was the perfect spot to park it....out of view of the road and anyone looking to cause trouble with it and just below our balcony where we could keep an eye on it.
The condo was clean and welcoming on our arrival and we were very impressed with that alone. Thank you to iTrips and the people that made the transition, both in and out, seamless. I have already requested the availability of this unit for our next trip!!!

Our unit was exactly as expected. Although it could use an update and we had issues with the tv and remotes. Mandy, the property manager was great and gave us great ideas on restaurants and entertainment. When we called her about the tv she was really attentive and had someone out immediately. This place was literally steps from the beach and even the public shower that you clean up with coming from the beach. It was so easy and convenient to walk from our condo right onto the beach. Couldn't have hoped for a better situation since we had a toddler with us. And many great restaurants very close by! We had an excellent time!

Condo was clean and quiet, perhaps a bit dated but so are we. Located right on water providing nice views and convenient walking. Suggestions for improvement would include toilet paper for each bath, coffee filters for the coffee makers. But we enjoyed our stay enough to select that same unit again.

Good Deal - Older Building
Overall - nice unit. Location and ocean view are the best parts of the unit. Overall building is showing its age and lack of maintenance. Deck needs upgrade (caulk and painted over rotted treated wood in several a places). Steps to the first level need to be refresh felt spongey in certain areas. Parking - two spots provided but only one was usable. Second behind the unit is too small for a mid to full size vehicle especially if others are parked in adjacent spots. Plus, the location is directly under two deck areas and concerned something would be drop on the vehicle.
Interior has a very beachie theme but the furnishings appear to be thrift store deals and one recliner was broken. Appliances were good - no issue. AC worked well as did the washer and dryer. WIFi worked well and basic speed. Spectrum box was dead in one of the bedrooms and service picked it up but wasn't replaced during our stay TVs in bedrooms are dated. The remotes were damaged with no back covers and missing batteries. Access to the beach was great - two or three minute walk. Also the street is blocked off due to construction but access was provided and not to inconvenient. Good place for the money. Spend some money on various upgrades and has potential to be really nice.

We checked in on Thursday. Location is great - plenty of things in walking distance & drives were not too far. Could have been more info on renting chairs/umbrella but we managed. On Saturday - lots new of new renters and they were above us. The noise was pretty bad - I’d recommend renting the top floor.

Quick July 4th Getaway
The Cape Coddages Property is a bit dated. The exterior needs a refresh. The parking situation is poor. Each unit appears to have two spots, however one of our spots required you to drive underneath the property with no more than 3 inches to spare on each side of the side view mirrors. The stairs were carpeted which was an interesting choice for outdoor stairs. The stairs were also uneven. As we entered the property, we were greeted with two dead roaches on the floor which made me question the cleanliness of the property. This is the beach, so critters are expected. The unit itself was well appointed, and directly on the beach. The unit needed some minor upkeep such as cleaning the drains. The floors were uneven in some places which was just a bit strange. All in all a nice property for this price range.

If you want peace and quiet this condo is NOT for you.
We paid for a full week stay, and after three nights we decided to rent another place. The unit is incredibly poorly sound proofed. We had a family above us and it sounded like a heard of cattle.. ALL THROUGH the night.. finally passing out from exhaustion at 3:30 am is not my idea if a restful trip. After moving out we asked if we could get a small part of our money back as we had to rent TWO places on vaca, and they dismissed it as not a big deal.. saying they “never had this problem before”…… I highly doubt that. Don’t stay here.
