Everything was wonderful, such a lovely place we could have stayed forever. Wonderful nights sleep. Amanda has gone above and beyond to make Mill House comfortable. “Kitten” was an added extra we loved her welcoming us to her home, she even decided we were nice enough to join to sleep with.
That we had to leave

We liked everything about this property. The photos don’t do it justice. The view across the surrounding farm land and hills is very nice. Furnishing and decorations are of a high standard and very tasteful. Good bed, good pillow, nice linen, comfortable outdoor seating in several locations. Spotlessly clean. The attention to detail to everything was impressive. Heaps of board games, fresh flower arrangements, healthy house plants giving a warm and inviting feeling, excellent quality soaps, shampoo, even hand cream. For those who forgot that 1 thing, like toothpaste, or cotton make-up remover pads or anything, it’s there. Unbelievable. We loved that the house has a house cat. Kitten is easy going and I’m sure that if you’re not interested in her company that she’ll leave you alone. If you want her company, she’s adorable. The house is not far from Whangamomona where you can get excellent pub meals in the local hotel. Lots of history there, also very nice. The Forgotten World Highway this property is located along is a beautiful road to travel on. Not much traffic, very pleasant.
We didn’t want to leave.
That we had to leave. I’m going to book again for our next road trip and that is saying something. We travel a lot and very, very rarely go to the same place twice.

It was so much better than the photos which didn't do it justice. Amazing host Kitten who met us at the door, yes the cat and Amanda have got a superb place. It's so relaxing and Amanda thinks of everything. The place was so clean and tidy. Great bbq, kitchen well stocked, bathroom with fab bath and shower and a bathroom draw with needs. Lounge with lovely fire, dvd player we enjoyed War Horse. Beds super comfortable and plenty of blankets if there on a cold night. Nice spots to sit on deck to. And soooo quite apart from the odd baaaa and cluck cluck and birds flying over hardly noticed road traffic. Close to Whangamomona but really you won't want to leave. You'd be silly to pass up this place, you won't regret it.
That we didn't stay 2 nights. Definitely going to have a look at staying again in the future.

Beautiful break on the long drive of the Forgotten World Highway. Idyllic setting on farmland. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated. Our boys liked all the animals around, particularly the chickens.
Not one bit to complain about.

I couldn't fault the accommodation, I only wish I booked two nights instead of one.

The old house is beautiful! Hosts could not have been more welcoming- even lighting a fire for us before we arrived and turning the lights on. The cat made it all very homey and the house was nice and warm with the fire. Bathroom newly and tastefully renovated, and the whole house prettily decorated. Everything we needed easy to hand. We will absolutely stay here again.
Nothing. It was perfect.

The character and decor of the 1900s villa was very tasteful. Lovely fresh flowers in every room. Comfortable beds with beautiful linen and it was great to have a fireplace. The shower was large with great water pressure and there was a big bathtub to soak in. It was great to look out over the garden and paddocks with sheep. The kitchen was well equipped with all the essentials.
I would highly recommend this home to anyone. Amanda was very friendly and helpful and although I'm not a cat lover the cat was no problem at all.

The breakfast was fantastic - eggs, cereals, milk, bread with spread, peanut butter & jam. The wifi was great. There is nothing lacking except maybe a dryer to complement the washer.

Mill House is absolutely stunning. Such a tranquil spot set amongst the peaceful hills and decorated and furnished so beautifully. we felt very spoilt with every little thing thought of, luxury, peace and pampering at its best. Amanda has thought of everything and was very attentive to us and making sure we had everything we needed and an amazing stay. Kitten was amazing, she showed us the best spots around the house for all the times of day and chatted away letting us know all the stories. We’ll definitely be back!

Location is remote, which makes it the perfect place. Great place to break your trip along the Forgotten Highway. Lovely hostess and friendly resident cat. Yummy, home made muesli

Just a stunning house in a magical part of the country. Make sure to do the tunnel walk if you are fit enough - but make sure you read the instructions properly. Simply magical stay and I will be back for more!

It is literally the best accommodation ever. We being so happy with it. In the middle of nowhere, sort of, an entire house to yourself, with lots of hygiene products and toiletries and other stuff to use. Definitely not to forget the cat who lives there :) super friendly owner and cat. Privat area with just animals around. The owner brought us some eggs. Amazing mix of old and modern and amazing bathroom. Everything you needed was there. Definitely wanna come back. Didn't wanted to leave at all.
You need to do some groceries before you come, as there is nothing really around.

Outstanding home equipped with everything that you need, plus breakfast, and additional supplies in the spa bathroom, and 'Kitten' the most wonderful house cat. Great communication and welcome from the hosts. Excellent location amidst farms and nature reserves. A pleasure to stay, to relax, and to explore the area.

Mill House is a very special place. Amanda and Aaron have really thought of all the little touches to make staying here as comfortable as possible.
