The Rex House (circa 1850) was recently updated in 2018. We loved the property. When looking at all the listings in Baton Rouge this was one of the only historic homes. The photos are excellent online but still do not do it justice. The character, quality and feel of this home are amazing! We will definitely be staying again!!

We were in town for a wedding, and the Rex House was the perfect place for everything we wanted. The house itself was spacious, and allowed us to be comfortable and have our personal space while still being a place we could all be together. The proximity to downtown was perfect for walking to meet the bridal party after we returned from the reception. Would highly recommend staying here for anyone who’s looking to be surrounded by friends and family in a historic location and quiet neighborhood!

August 26, 2020 we evacuated from Hurricane Laura to this lovely historic home in downtown Baton Rouge. The home was spectacular but better than the home was the exceptionally kind owners and property managers. They checked on us frequently and helped us with the extended time needed to shelter from the storm damage. The neighborhood is warm and the neighbors all took time to check on us as well. This home is one of the best places I have stayed in all the time I've used VRBO. I would highly recommend this home for your shelter or Baton Rouge getaway!

We had such a great time at the Rex House! The home was gorgeous inside and out and in such a great location. We loved using the Rex House as a "home base" during our short trip to Baton Rouge, and would absolutely stay here again and again!

We immensely enjoyed staying in this historic home in Baton Rouge. The home set the tone for our mini-vaca here. It should be said that this is a fantastic location but is 2 doors down from the fire station. There were no sirens while we were there, but just know that it's there. The home is beautiful and provides for a short walk to downtown for great southern food and fun. Huge highlight was having delicious Community Coffee on the front porch swing. Take the time to read up on the home upon arrival in the photo album and write up of the restoration process. Well done! We will absolutely be staying here again any time we are passing through Baton Rouge.

Everything was lovely. The house is perfect for three couples and had what we needed to make our trip comfortable. I lived two doors down many years ago so felt very nostalgic and happy in this special property. Thanks to the owners for having us.
2.5
Definitely a lovely property and great hospitality.
