Family friendly and luxurious holiday home in Normandy, near Mont Saint-Michel
Close to Mont Saint-Michel is the child-friendly holiday home La Minoterie. A recently restored watermill from 1870. The detached holiday home is situated in a wooded, green valley on a generous plot of land - 10,000 m2 - through which a clattering stream flows.
Ideal for children!
Playing outside, playing in the water, trampoline jumping or playing football on the large lawn. Also watching sheep, trout fishing along the flowing brook and gathering wood for a campfire are fantastic adventures. In the basement a table football, shuffleboard and a dart board for children and parents is ready.

Layout
The 5 floors of La Minoterie are each more than 110 m2. On the large terrace with barbecue at the entrance you can all have a nice meal and long wet food.
Ground floor apartment (0) - 4 sleeping places
On the ground floor, behind the spacious hall is a beautiful apartment furnished for 4 to 6 people. The modern cozy living room with two large sofas stands around the wood-burning fireplace. There is also a satellite TV. The spacious open kitchen is fully equipped. The gas stove has an oven, a large freestanding fridge with freezer drawers, a dishwasher, microwave and sufficient utensils. Here you can cook deliciously and then dine on the long sturdy tree table. The apartment has 2 bedrooms with double beds and a separate pleasant bathroom with shower. This floor has no stairs.
Top Floor and Vide (+1) - 8 sleeping places
This atmospheric floor with its old beam part is spacious and light. You can easily be together with 18 people in the living room. The spacious seating area has modern luxury seating around the wood-burning fireplace. There is a satellite TV, a wonderful lounge area and a cozy seating, reading or games corner. The spacious open kitchen is fully equipped. The large gas stove has an oven. There is a high standing fridge with freezer drawers, a dishwasher, microwave and sufficient kitchen utensils. Here you can all dine al fresco at the old tree tables and enjoy a good glass of wine. On this floor there is also a bedroom with a double bed and a spacious bathroom with a bath and toilet. With a staircase you reach the light loft. Here are 2 sleeping areas with 2 single beds and 4 double beds. For example in the ridge, under the old beams it is wonderful to sleep.
Mino floor (-1) - 8 sleeping places
The stairs to the mino floor is on the ground floor in the hall. On this floor are 4 beautiful spacious bedrooms each with its own comfortable bathroom. Of these 3 bedrooms have a double bed with a bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin. The other bedroom has 2 single beds and a bathroom with toilet and sink.
Cellar (-2)
In the basement there is a table football, dart board and a shuffleboard for the children.

We are a 4 generation family that stayed 5 days and had the most wonderful time. The house comfortably accommodated 14 of us ranging in age from 2 - 79 years. The views are amazing and there is a large yard with a trampoline and swing set that entertained our younger ones for many hours. The 2 kitchens are well equipped and it is a nice walk to the lovely village. I highly recommend this rental.

We had a wonderful time. The house was nicer than expected. The furnishings are much better than most vacation rentals. Outside its beautiful, peaceful and fun. Our familyreally enjoyed it.

We spent 7 nights at the moulin as a group of 5 families. The beds were super comfortable. The property is well equipped and had everything we needed. Lots of chairs for inside and outside. A fantastic games room. WiFi worked really well too. Lots of bathrooms and toilets. All the required kitchen equipment and lots of it. It was nice to be within walking distance of St James. The little town has a carrefour express, cheese and wine shop, butchers, restaurants, little bars, vets and a hospital. The large garden with a trampoline was well used by the kids, as we're the goal posts. There is even a little stream at the bottom where we bathed on a hot day. All in all, a wonderful holiday home. We were a group of 13 friends enjoying a one-week get together with lots of activities in and around the house and splendid weather.
La Minoterie was the perfect place for us, offering a long list of amenities and, above all, plenty of kitchen space for the wonderful chef-à-domicile Sébastien Godefroy and his wife Holly. They provided us with three lavish dinners and an in-depth introduction into Normandy specialites with detailed comments in French and English. He had been recommended by the tourist office, but he is also on Facebook or Linkedin.

We are a large family with 4 Children and 9 Grandchildren and wanted to celebrate my 70th and my Husbands 70th, which was in lockdown. The house was perfect for the 3 generations and the garden was safe for even the youngest 5 year olds to play so that the adults could relax. The facilities for the children and adults was fantastic, with a trampoline, football goals, volleyball net and the boule court and a games room. The weather was amazing and we eat outside every day, there was plenty of everything we needed. We were able to get fresh bread and croissants at the local boulangerie. The beds were super comfortable and it was so peaceful that we slept really well. Altogether an amazing holiday in a wonderful house.

La Minoterie is situated in a lovely location, minutes walk from the quiet village of St James. The house is very well equipped from the kitchen area to the games room in the basement. The property is ideal for a family reunion or a get together for a group of friends.

Très bel endroit au calme à la campagne mais proche de tous commerces. Une très belle demeure très bien aménagée, joliment décorée où rien ne manque et tout est fonctionnel et surtout confortable. L'espace autour est très appréciable pour se divertir au grand air, la tonnelle devant la maison est fort agréable. Tout est pensé pour passer un agréable moment, c'est parfait.

Nous avons avons confortablement séjourné à 16 adultes dans cette belle demeure très bien rénovée. La décoration a été choisi avec goût, il y a tout le nécessaire pour passer un agréable séjour, petit plus pour la salle de jeu à l'étage inférieure.

La Minoterie est un superbe endroit pour passer un week-end ou des vacances en famille ou entre amis.
Nous étions 20 personnes de 1an à 60ans!
Les pièces sont très bien agencées et décorées avec beaucoup de goût Et de soin. Le tout est très bien équipé, vous n’aurais besoin de rien : bonne literie, draps, nombreuses salles de bain, cafetières, grille pains, vaisselles...
Chacun est en autonomie et peut jouir de tous les espaces sans se marcher dessus.
Il y a également de belles ballades à proximité pour ceux qui ne voudraient pas trop bouger ou bien les très beaux sites du Mont St Michel et de St Malo juste à côté !
Les propriétaires sont très gentils, disponibles et Soucieux de votre bien être !
Nous avons passé un week-end merveilleux!

La minoterie : un gîte des familles
Le gîte de la Minoterie s'adapte très bien au séjour familial et intergénérationnel. Nous étions 20 personnes de 2 ans à 65 ans (6 enfants et 14 adultes) . Les différents étages, équipements, espaces de vie nous ont assuré de bons moments de vie collectifs mais aussi plus cosi pour chacun d'entre nous. Situé dans un cadre bucolique, ce gîte est idéal pour se détendre et se reconnecter avec la nature. Idéal pour les enfants. Attention l'anglais est requis pour communiquer avec les propriétaires situés au Pays Bas. Le contrat de location est également en anglais.
À séjourner en famille sans modération.

Great house for a big group with lots of room and 2 kitchens and livingrooms. in the basement are plays for the children. Outside is room for a bonfire close to the river. Great! One remark: there is no washing machine at the moment, but that will probably change in the future.

Magnifique propriété
Cette propriété est vraiment idéale pour plusieurs familles. les espaces sont grands et on ne se marche pas dessus lorsqu'il y a beaucoup de monde. Il y a largement assez de place à l'intérieur et dans le grand jardin. On a l'impression d'être seuls au monde, car à part les moutons près de la rivière, on ne voit pas de voisins, bien qu'on ne soit qu'à quelques minutes à pied de la boulangerie.
La maison est bien agencée et décorée avec goût. Les 2 cuisines et les 2 salons sont un vrai plus. Les chambres sont magnifiques, surtout les 3 chambres doubles de l'étage inférieur qui ont chacune une grande salle d'eau privative. Certains lits étaient cependant un peu trop mous, en particulier dans l'appartement du rez-de-chaussée. L'espace mezzanine est sympa pour les enfants car il y a de la place pour jouer, en plus du sous-sol pour les plus grands avec sa table de ping-pong et son jeu de fléchettes.
Nous n'avons pas vu les propriétaires, mais ils ont été charmants lors des échanges par messagerie.
C'est vraiment un lieu à recommander. Il manque juste un lave-linge (mais il y a une laverie au Super-U) et des chaînes TV en français.

Nous avons passé 3 nuits en famille dans cette maison au cadre incroyable. Très grande, superbe décoration et aménagement, les petits comme les grands étaient heureux. Magnifique maison
Nous avons réservé la maison de Anouk et Arnold pour le week end afin de fêter l'anniversaire de ma soeur (30 ans). La maison est magnifique, encore plus belle que sur les photos ! A plus de 20 nous étions tout à fait à l'aise.

Maison idéale pour famille et autres on peut tarder le soir pour certains sans déranger les autres!!!
Là maison est super bien équipée du berceau en passant par les jeux extérieurs. Entièrement refaite avec goût et bien placée 15 mn du mont st michel ou de la mer. En campagne mais toutes les commodités à pieds.
Bémol cependant car tout les documents sont en anglais ou néerlandais mais on comprend les grandes lignes!!!
