Very cosy apartment in a very tranquil location….so very peaceful, especially at night when not a sound could be heard. The apartment had everything you needed with some nice little touches such as the welcome hamper and a selection of produce you could purchase if needed. I would highly recommend the apartment for visiting the local area as it allows very easy access onto the A64 in both directions.
The bathroom is my only gripe in that the door did not close properly. It is a bifold door and the gap between the panels meant that you could very clearly see into the bathroom so privacy was a small issue. The shower also had a tendency to overflow the tray but this was easily remedied with the bathroom mat.

This is a really nicely equipped studio apartment. The owners were very helpful and communicated well.
The facilities were so good. Lovely bed and kitchen was ideal for self catering.
Nice welcome pack on my arrival and a well-stocked mini-bar/treats basket.

The host left us all we needed to make breakfast-eggs, a loaf of bread, yogurt and fruit jam
it was a drive from York but worth it!!
I noticed that the water from the shower was hitting the wall and peeling the paint...this could be improved by tiling the the bottom of the wall where water might hit.The only thing that was not absolutely well-thought out in this stable renovation

this studio is in a barn conversion and the quality of the fit out was excellent. bathroom and kitchen were both of high standard. Richard ,our host was very welcoming and provided good information about the location and area. The studio is located in a small complex with 1,2 bedroom apartments plus cottages and is off the main roads and very quiet. Easy access to YORK via the Park & Ride.

Comfortable and well equipped studio apartment. The owners provided breakfast and an honesty hamper which was a nice touch. The studio was exceptionally clean.
Unfortunately the bed was uncomfortable and creaked every time I moved. The owners have thoughtfully provided ear plugs which certainly help to drown the noise of the fridge switching on and off throughout the night.

Pretty village
Well equipped kitchen
Easy access to York
Bathroom needed a proper rather than folding door and a working extractor fan
Stools for the breakfast bar would have been good as we had to eat meals in our laps

Lovely barn conversion. Very clean. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable bed.
Was supposed to include breakfast but all that was provided was eggs, jam, butter.
Was near impossible to get a taxi from the location into York.

Up two flights of stairs, but very sweet and comfortable. Very good communication from the hosts.
The oven smelled when used, but we were able to open the roof light to let that out, so not a big deal. Note local pub doesn't serve food on Mondays, but there are many take-aways and supermarkets nearby.

There was quite a 'wow' moment as we walked in through the door, the apartment was really cleverly laid out and very well decorated in a style which certainly suited us. We were just using it as a stopover on our way north but the location suited this very well. Nice dog walking tracks all around. We can recommend the Nags Head at Askham Bryan, excellent service and good pub food, open fire.
The village pub was closed! Despite the board outside saying it would be open from 5pm it never did.
The bi-fold door for the bathroom needs adjusting (hinge just tightening up really) as it was difficult to close.

Perfect for our short stay, facilities good as new, accommodating our two dogs
Shower bathroom slightly cramped, noise from trees scraping building exterior during high winds

The hosts prepared enough food for our first breakfast at the property which was very thoughtful and kind. We were visiting York for the weekend but were not prepared to pay the high prices to stay in the city. This property isn't far from York so it was a perfect place to stay. The surrounding area does get very dark at night but otherwise, the surroundings look beautiful during the day. Everything we needed was included in the property and there was an information sheet in the room that told us everything we needed to know. The bed is comfy, and the room had a homey and cozy feel to it overall. We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again!
The heating in the room didn't seem to work but we thought that might have been turned off altogether. The room did get quite cold, but there was a thick blanket in the room so my partner and I used that to stay warm while watching a movie on the TV.
The bathroom sink is quite small and you would have to be careful not to let the water go everywhere when using it. The shower was also quite uncomfortable to use as the water would overflow and wet the floor and the shower rug.

Our hosts were extremely helpful and welcoming. The property seemed to be an almost new barn conversion which was clean and all the facilities you'd expect for the money were there, ideally situated for York and the local pub provided a good menu.
We didn’t see any Cereal bowls but this wasn't an issue for us

Great layout for a small space. Skylights made the space light and airy. Really good to have parking and the check in was easy.
Good distance from York if you wanted a day trip. Garden although not directly connected to the the property was nice to relax in.
Really attractive building with the beams and tastefully decorated. Great value for money, would recommend anyone to stay there.
Shower was good but tray filled up really quickly even on low flow.
Unfortunate to have building work opposite the apartment (which we know isn't the owners fault).

Fridge buzzing at night but we’re provided earplugs

We stayed in one of the studios upstairs. The studio is very cosily decorated and feels like a home from home!
Everything you may need, is available.
My son played football in the garden, while I enjoyed watching the horses :-).
Nothing.

Breakfast would have been great if there had been milk for cereal or bread for the jam & butter provided.
Lots of road noise thru the night & bin lorry in the morning (can’t be helped), we wondered why earplugs were provided!
Light above main door not working so difficult to unlock in the dark. Definitely not a place for anyone with mobility issues.
The 2 steep stairs into the bathroom was annoying.
