We just returned from our trip to Boston and we really enjoyed this property.
Location - this is a great location! It's walking distance to the grocery store (Star Market), a great reservoir with a walking path, and it's in a safe neighborhood (I walked at night by myself without concern. For our purposes, driving was necessary so I can't speak to access to public transit.
Property - this first floor property was set up to be reserved by bedroom or the whole unit (which we did). We had 6 people and everyone fit nicely. There is a common space for watching TV and the kitchen is large/equipped. Keep in mind, this neighborhood is well-maintained but has older homes that don't have central air. There is an AC unit in each bedroom and the living room. We found this system to work well for our needs (close the doors and turn on the AC when you return and bedrooms are cool and comfortable by the time you go to sleep).
Communication - hosts were quick to respond and answer any questions we had. Super kind to allow us to use their driveway while there (I think this is standard but still requires work on their part!).
One thing to keep in mind - my husband did work from the property one day (he was the only one home) and was frustrated he couldn't make video calls from the wifi. All of our other wifi needs were fine including regular web browsing and texting but the video calls were difficult.
We had a great time and would stay again!!

This Vrbo was perfect to stay at for the 2023 Boston Marathon. It was in a great location to be able to get around the city, and near Fresh Pond which has a nice walking trail. The hosts were highly responsive and very helpful. Has plenty of space for a big group. Highly recommend.

My family and I shared this apartment with another family to help our two adult children move into their new apartment in Cambridge- so 6 adults in the apartment. It was perfect- three rooms each comfortable and large enough for two people with A/C units in each that kept it cool. There's also a small bed off one of the bedrooms with a desk if someone had wanted to work there. Full kitchen and a sitting room as well. We were out a lot moving but found it a very comfortable spot to begin and end our days. Bathroom shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The Star Market nearby was great for picking up food or Starbucks in the morning. Parking was perfect- we had to have a uhaul parked there for two days and the hosts reserved their driveway for us plus there was parking on the street as well (although we were able to put the uhaul and two cars in the driveway)--a HUGE plus and rare find in Cambridge to have that parking available! The apartment was incredibly clean, the beds firm and comfy. There was also a washer/dryer available. Quiet at night. Kitty and Mark are available if needed and very responsive but also not intrusive at all. Have nothing but great things to say! We will be back next time we visit our kids!

We loved our stay at Kitty's home in Strawberry Hill. It was perfect for our bachelor party and very comfortable. Thank you for having us!

Quite suitable for a family staying for extended period. Convenient to all Boston colleges and sightseeing. It is not near the train station, so having a car is recommended.

Marathon Weekend
The apartment is in a great location right by Freshwater Pond and a grocery store. Quiet neighborhood with off street parking. The apartment was clean and well set up for our group of three couples. One room had a queen bed, the other two had full sized beds with one of those rooms having an extra room with another twin bed. Kitty immediately responded to my questions and everything was great for our visit. I initially thought we'd take the T into Boston for most of our travel, but we ended up driving instead.

Strawberry Hill Apartment
This first floor apartment was exactly as advertised! It was clean, spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect to enjoy all that Boston had to offer as well as quieter locals to the north of the city. Kitty responded quickly to all questions and was easy to work with. I would highly recommend renting this apartment.

Cambridge for Food Lovers
Spacious, light-filled, first-floor apartment. Very clean, with simple furnishing and not a lot of personal touches. Fluffy white towels and wash cloths: that's always a much-appreciated detail for me. Walking distance to some of Cambridge's best cafes and Armenian markets.

Great for three generations
I visited Cambridge with my Boomer parents and teenage daughter. This was a great space for five of us.

Close enough but far enough away
Clean, and tidy home. Had everything we needed for our stay. Was just far enough away from the noise to have a good nights rest. Close enough that a less than 10 minute Uber and we were at Fenway! I would recommend this property.

Wish we could stay longer!
For starters, this property is exactly like the photos. Three bedrooms (all queen, plus a hidden single), one bathroom, kitchen with plenty of room, and a living area. So space is absolutely not an issue. Kitty was very responsive, pleasant, and suggested amenities/ideas such as transit options (though we had a car) and grocery/dining. The neighborhood is sensational! You are two blocks from Fresh Pond, with walking paths and a dog park, and plenty of green space. We were thrilled to have AC units in two of the bedrooms, and fans available for the other rooms, including a ceiling fan in the kitchen. Having laundry facilities plus supplies was such a nice addition, being able to run a load and not take everything home in bags. There are plenty of utensils and supplies, and a Keurig (with pods) plus creamer/sweeteners for you morning coffee enthusiasts. Drive time to Harvard/MIT is maybe 10 minutes, and 20+ to downtown in lighter traffic. Overall, this was a five-star experience and we are so grateful to have found this place!

Cambridge
Very nice. Entrance is very steep to a basement living space. Weak water pressure in shower. Excellent parking

Great hosts and great location
Kitty and Mark were wonderfully responsive hosts. The apartment is in the basement of their house and is not equipped with air conditioning which was very uncomfortable for us as we are middle aged post menopausal women who run hot. It may not be an issue for others but I wanted to mention it in case that is your issue too.
We did not rent a car so we were dependent on Uber for transportation and it was a little further from MIT (our daily trek) than we thought. The good news is that Star Market is very close by and has a grocery delivery service.

Everything was as expected

Not what I expected
First off I have to say the neighborhood is great and Kitty and Mark were fantastic. My daughter and I were comfortable once we got used to the quirks of the apartment. It is a basement apartment with steep stairs to go down into the apartment. The floors were uneven (wavy) from the living room to the kitchen and ceilings that were very low. The shower head was not above my head and I am only 5'2". It stated that it had AC and being from Florida I expected window units or central AC but we had two boxes on the bedside table that was really just a fan. The beds, well if you like firm like plywood you will like these. The parking is not private it is on the street. When we arrived I was unaware of the parking situation and contacted Kitty they moved their vehicle and let us park in the driveway to unload the luggage which Mark carried for us. Laundry was wonderful I didn't have to go home with dirty clothes. As I said they were wonderful. I had read the reviews on this place but notice there were none for 2018. Also expect a lot of traffic.

Great space in Cambridge! I’d stay longer if I could.
There is a ton of space in this garden apartment. Four of us slept comfortably in three rooms, as the futon pulled out for a full sized bed. The beds are firm memory foam and the linens are cozy.
The kitchen has brand new appliances and great dinner service for four. It has many supplies for cooking, but could use just a few more. I bought a baking sheet to cook a frozen pizza as there was none. I had to improvise oven mitts. Overall we managed fine and prepared several meals happily.
The bathroom had everything you need but is a tad cramped. Don’t plan a luxurious soak. However, all your basic toiletries are there.
Laundry worked great! So nice to have soap and fabric softener on hand. New appliances. I did however bump my head on a low hanging cabinet that was not padded. Almost all low hanging edges were covered for safety.
Kitty and her family were very friendly and helpful. As I first pulled up on their driveway I was offered help with my bags. They offered help finding local amenities and transit. They were always accommodating and kind.
Plan for about an hour to the North end of Boston, door to door. Transit is easy to use but takes time. Busses come frequently; we never waited for more that a few minutes.
I’d use this space again for sure and wish Kitty and her family all the best as they continue to share their home.

Property was great and in a beautiful neighborhood. Beds were very comfortable
We mainly were at the property in the evenings and to sleep. Slept great, very comfortable beds. Kitty was readily available and easy to work with. House was very clean and has everything you need. Shower is unique. Would highly recommend this house and is within a mile walking distance to great neighborhood restaurants. We walked to Harvard and the Charles River. Beautiful scenery along the way.

We had a wonderful stay at Kitty's house
Kitty's house was comfortable and well set up for our family to enjoy the Cambridge/Boston area. The house was very clean and ready for the five of us when we arrived. The location was great for our trips into the city. Kitty was easy to communicate with through the process and gave us all the info we needed to make our stay easy.

Just what we needed
Kitty's house is perfectly located for travelers. Close enough to walk to anything you need; near the bus stop for going farther, and with parking if you want to brave the roads of Cambridge and Boston. The apartment has a really nice kitchen! I especially enjoyed how it was actually clean and smelled clean! By that I mean that it didn't have air fresheners out to disguise underlying grossness. It was all just nice and clean! We have perfume sensitivities and so that's a big deal to us! Kitty and her family are lovely and charming and gracious and kind. She's there if you need her but not imposing at all. It was very very hot outside during our visit. The air conditioning units were able to make our sleeping areas and living areas comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom did stay rather warm but again it was super unusually hot!! Thanks for a great stay, Kitty!!!
