Our family had a wonderful stay at Little Bear Island the first week in September. It was a truly great stay. We enjoyed the house and being able to spend time on the water.
The communication before and during our stay was excellent and the guidance on how to navigate to the island dock was so appreciated.
We rented a boat from Trexler's Marina and they also provided excellent and responsive service.
Our family, including kids were so grateful for the chance to spend a week on this island and to be on Lake Winnipesaukee.

The neighbors were super nice too.
Great experience overall!

We loved our stay on Little Bear. We were very pleased with the location, as it's in a calmer part of the lake. Less traffic, far less wake at the dock than other properties we've stayed at. We felt right at home with the property, very well appointed. Nice not having to boat your trash out or bring bottled water. Dock has bumpers in all the right spots. Just pull up and cleat up. It's the little things like this that pay dividends when you're on an island. Place was clean, excellent wifi, plenty of the things you may forgotten back at home were already in place. Greg is very responsive, and truly wants his customers to enjoy their stay. Super happy about our time on the lake.

This home exceeded our expectations! It had everything we needed and more. My husband and two boys (ages 8 and 10) enjoyed fishing and kayaking, while I soaked up the gorgeous sunrises and swam in the lake. It’s the perfect location with so much to do in the area from hiking trails with waterfalls to nice beach spots on the lake. The owners are wonderful people who were more than accommodating with any questions and concerns we had. We can’t wait to go back!

Just a great stay, can’t say enough about the host, house and property, well kept, great dock for the boat, this property is the definition of a vacation home. Everything you need is there, the host goes above and beyond to make sure the guest are happy. The area on the island is beautiful with great views. Nothing at all negative to say about the host and property. Had such a relaxing and great time with just me and my 18 yr old son, great fishing as well. Thanks again the the host.

We absolutely love staying on Little Bear Island! As avid boaters, it is such a unique experience to be able to stay on an island (and something we'd never be able to afford otherwise!!)!!! This property is perfect for our low-key and relaxing family weekend. The owners are such fantastic people and make you feel like family when you're there! The property is lovely and has everything we could ask for. We look forward to many more Memorial Day weekends on Little Bear!!!

I've done the island thing on Winni many times before so I had a good idea what to expect, and I wasn't disappointed. It was all very relaxing, clean, very nice place.
For some reason we thought there was a washer/dryer, when I went back to the listing I didn't see it so I guess I was confused. But I would definitely suggest they be added. Tracking down and using a laundromat is a real detriment when you're on an island and on vacation and I'd rather do a small wash on wednesday than bring more out with me. Just a suggestion, like I said, it was a good relaxing time.

The home was exactly as described and the pictures were accurate. The views were awesome...we caught a couple sunrises which were beautiful. We used the kyacks and the canoe...fished from the dock. The home had everything we needed for a family of 6. We rented a boat from Trexlers Marina which worked out pretty well. I'd recommend renting from a nearby marina as you'll need your car from time to time for day trips/grocery shopping...a nearby marina will simplify island logistics. The lake is huge and the open water areas can get rough-we rented a 21 foot boat and I wouldn't have wanted anything smaller. The hosts were EXTREMELY responsive and really went above and beyond. I left a life jacket behind that belonged to the marina and the hosts returned it for us...How nice!

The perfect spot for our family! Two teen boys and two large dogs, us and even a friend joined us one night. Plenty of room - we grilled, cooked dinners, did WFH - my husband took a zoom meeting video on and NO issues. Kids used the kayaks, canoe, paddle board, streamed TV, hooked up their switch. The family was wonderful to deal with, good communication and good conversation. We would recommend anyone rent this place - just not when WE want to come back again ;) Thank you for your hospitality!

My wife and I returned to this island this last week after first staying there 20 years ago. Greg's home is perfectly quaint and cozy and had everything we needed for a great week. Greg was helpful and quick to respond with any questions we had and the home was appointed nicely and just what you picture when you think of a cottage in this part of the country. As you do need to rent a boat for the week to get back and forth from the island, I highly recommend Trexler's Marina which is an easy 15-20 min boat ride from the house. Their price was the most competitive I found and it's run by a kind family that has owned the marina for years. All in all, we had a wonderful trip and I could not recommend Greg's place any more!

We had a great week at the cottage on Little Bear Island. We rented a pontoon boat for the week we enjoyed the sunrises and the pink sky at sunsets. Greg was awesome to deal with the cottage was exactly as pictured with a new dining and living room set. We had an awesome time playing in the water at the dock with our furry friend. The privacy and the views were exactly what we needed . Thanks for hosting us!

There are a few places in this world where you get to truly connect to what's important, and disconnect from thats not. This is one of them. The Hosts are a salt of the earth great family who love to share this little slice of pure lake life with others. This place is a special place, unpretentious island living at its best. Enjoy the stay, make sure you wake up early for a sunrise that rivals any, play some corn hole, ease into the lake for a leisurely float the way Mr B would. And look up at the sky on a moonless night and wait for a shooting star. Some say Lake Winnipesaukee means “beautiful water in a high place.” The second, more popular interpretation is “the smile of the Great Spirit.” Well our family spirit is most definitely smiling.

Just returned from a perfect island vacation. The cottage is exactly as described in the listing and the pictures are current. From start to finish Greg was attentive and very helpful, including meeting us on the dock and helping us unload our boat. He showed us around the house and property. The house was clean and comfortable and provided items such as dish soap, paper towels, bath soap, toilet paper, towels and all linens. When leaving all we had to do was pack up our things and shut the doors. We enjoyed using the two kayaks and canoe. The water was so clean in front of the cottage and the sunrises could not have been more stunning along with all the loons. This cottage and location were perfect. We will be back!

We experienced a nice pleasant week of boating with the family. With island/boat only access, there was a lot of family time to be had. There was a minor issue with accesss to water for showering etc, but the owner was all over it and it didn’t last long. I would recommend to families or folks looking to get away from the hussle and bustle of more populated areas of the lake.

Dock had plenty of space for our 23 ft boat and the cabin was well outfitted with couch, outdoor furniture, cookware, and stove that all looked very recent. Beds were freshly made with clean sheets. The view is great and you are well situated to get into the Broads, make a quick trip to the Tuftonboro general store, get gas at Trexler's, or hit Braun Bay. We had a great time.

I could not think of a better way to enjoy lake winnipesaukee then an island getaway. This was our first time (newly married couple) and it's going to be the only way we vacation there going forward. You do need a boat, most will do, but keep in mind you need to bring provisions with you. The cabin is short boat ride from 19 mile bay and is quite easy to find. Depending on the size/type of your boat you'll want to be careful as it gets shallow quickly around the islands. The location absolutely picturesque and this is an ideal option to get away from it all. You can relax, boat, and fish a week away like we did. The location was peaceful and quiet as could be. There's also fantastic fishing a couple hundred ft away from the dock and the broads are a quick, direct, trip south. The cabin is spacious and comfortable. WiFi is good as is cell reception (AT&T). All the necessities are provided and the description of the accommodation and amenities is spot on. I cannot say enough good things about the host. Best I've had. Answered all our questions and went out of his way to help us enjoy our visit. I wholeheartedly recommend this property to any boating family or couple. We will most definitely be returning!

My family and I enjoyed an extended weekend on Little Bear to finish off a great summer. We enjoyed boating, hiking, fishing, swimming, and relaxing. The views from the property are incredible. The cottage hosted our family comfortably and we enjoyed meeting the owner and learning a little history of the property. We hope to return next year.

We reserved our stay on Little Bear last year for a late August trip. The owner Greg was quick and detailed with all our questions. We launched our boat at a small ramp in 19 mile bay and parked on side of the road after bridge with no issue. My truck and trailer remained untouched and safe. The property was across the bay, a 5-10 minute ride on a small boat which wasn’t difficult. Greg met me at the dock and welcomed me and my family kindly and discussed the home. We met his family who stayed next door. They were all very kind and helpful with any questions we had. Really great people. While they were next door they were quiet, courteous and basically non existent during our stay. We spent a lot of time fishing, snorkeling and swimming and adventuring around the lake. The island was large enough that we hiked up and around the center for a few hour tour. The home was neat and clean with a few window air conditioners for any hot days. The view from every room was gorgeous. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at this cozy cabin on Little Bear. The view was beautiful and we woke up early daily just to watch the sunrise while drinking coffee on the comfortable furniture on the deck. We even had a visit from a blue heron on our last morning!
Inside was comfortable as well. Two of the three bedrooms as well as the bathroom were remodeled and the living room set up was nice as well. We were provided with plenty of big, fluffy bath towels and kitchen supplies. And Bert, the 97 year old neighbor, was an added bonus. He was a delight to talk with. His “kids”, Greg and Elise, were very welcoming too. We had a wonderful stay and I would recommend this property to anyone.

We truly loved our stay on Little Bear Island. The house was exactly what we wanted in a lake house, big enough for our family of four (plus dog) and a couple friends that stayed during the week with a classic old lake charm. We were lucky enough to have a hot sunny week, and its spot on the lake was perfect for swimming, tubing and exploring the islands and sandbars. The deck had gorgeous mountain and sunrise views. Perfect combination of both sun and shade through the day. The house is an easy boat ride to neighboring towns and the boat launch. Parking near the launch was a breeze and the store at Pier 19 had a good variety of food and beverages we picked up over the week. The owners (as everyone notes) were very nice and accommodating meeting us at checkin and checkout and answering questions along the way. This isn’t just an investment property, it is a family home with stories over the years which made this property even more amazing to us. Our 12 and 14 year old girls didn’t want to leave and even our dog didn’t want to get off the boat upon our return. We already miss it and can’t wait to return.

We had a great time with the family on the lake. The cabin provided everything we needed. I would recommend parking on the side of the road after launching your boat in 19 mile bay. I parked in the town lot further away and received a notice to tow from the local police. Just sharing to help future visitors.
Overall great experience!
