Our family truly enjoyed our week in Narragansett. The house had everything we needed to really enjoy our stay. Always an awesome beach vacay in RI!

Spacious clean house on a very private cul de sac. When we weren't at the beach, visiting Newport or doing some other fun activity, you'd probably find us hanging out on the deck or 3 season porch. Hope to be back next year!

We are an intergenerational family of 11 - grandparents and our two daughter's families. PROS: the house was large enough to accommodate all of us. We especially enjoyed the sunroom, the deck, the outdoor shower, the location and the quiet neighborhood. Owner was accessible and willing to help us out. CONS: the online photos of the living room furniture do not match what was there during our visit and much of the household furniture is old, worn and in need of updating. The first floor bedroom (off of kitchen) is really a redesigned mudroom as there is a door to the garage in that room. In general, the house is in major need of interior painting and cosmetic repairs. Screens on the kitchen door and basement sliding door would be helpful as the air conditioning (we were there in a 90+ heat week) did not work properly and ventilation was needed. The location as described is not a 5 minute walk to Sandy Cove beach which is really now Roger Wheeler Park. Fortunately, the beach parking is reasonably priced. Overall, it was a good week (we had beautiful weather so weren't at the house much) due to the fact we were vacationing with family.

John's house was perfect for our family vacation. The house had plenty of room for our group of 6 adults and 3 kids. It was a warm week, so we were very thankful for the air conditioners in the bedrooms. Although the rest of the house isn't air-conditioned, with the windows open the breeze made it very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch! The house is on a cul de sac which was perfect for my nephews to ride their bikes without us worrying about traffic. Overall, we had a wonderful week and we would definitely rent this house again for our RI beach vacation!

Lovely beach house
Very quiet neighborhood close to the beach. We did drive as we had little ones with lots of gear, but a two-minute drive. On a cul de sac so kids could ride their bikes and a beautiful yard for them to run around in. The house was very spacious and laid out nicely for our three families. The downstairs area we used for guests who stayed over. We all agreed that we would rent this house again. It was a great vacation house.

Beautiful, laid-back vacation!
We are 2 families of 4 and we had a wonderful week at John's house. There was plenty of room for us all, and we even made it through Hurricane Henri with power intact. Even though the downstairs is not air-conditioned, it was manageable through the heatwave (90s several days) by leaving the door of the downstairs bedroom open with the fan in the doorway (and all of the bedrooms are air-conditioned).
John is an exceptional host, very responsive, and communicative, and his house is charming and well-appointed. When I told him one of our plans was to go picnic at Point Judith Lighthouse, he recommended checking out Fisherman's Memorial as an observation point instead, and it was a gem we never would have found on our own! I also accidentally left my laptop at the house when checking out and John was wonderful about making arrangements for me to retrieve it. Thank you, John, for a fantastic home base for our trip!
We also loved Narragansett, particularly exploring the tidal pools at Black Point and the beach at Scarborough (although Roger Wheeler is ideal for families with very young children, as it has almost no waves). The slow ferry to Block Island and the town beach there were fabulous, must-do activities!

Great home
Had a shorter then expected stay due to some family circumstances but made the most of it at this wonderful home. House has a great layout with tons of space! The outdoor shower was great to have as well. Very relaxing on a quiet cul de sac to all the beaches, restaurants, etc.

Great family vacation
Our entire experience here for the week was awesome. The house was very clean and had lots of space. Perfect for a family vacation with lots of room and beds for larger families. Nice quiet location and neighborhood and super close to two beaches and anything else we needed. In addition, the owner was very responsive and made himself available when he was needed and was very nice and respectful. Overall, we would strongly recommend this property.

Narragansett near the beach
The prior reviews are accurate. Very nice and quiet property at the end of a cul de sac. The owners keep the house spotless. There are 4 bedrooms which have A/C - the basement is fine unless it is hot as there is no A/C. The outdoor shower is outstanding. It is a walk to the beach but not a big deal. Most days we drove and paid for the parking as we had chairs, umbrellas, food etc. Excellent restaurants nearby - we did not particularly like Iggy's which is a very popular spot as the food was mostly fried. Try the roof deck nearby at Chair5. Overall we loved our stay and look forward to going back.

There is place in the house for everyone. We had 3 families of 4 and had plenty of room. Already planning on staying next year too.

Perfect for a family get away!
All of us, aged 2 to 75, loved the house. It fit perfectly into our plans for rousing family dinners, quiet time on the sun porch, grilling on the deck, riding tricycles in the garage, playing catch on the lawn. The walking distance to the beaches, and Iggy's and Aunt Carrie's was easy and fun. We had perfect weather and many wonderful swims. The kitchen was large enough and well equipped. The dining room could just fit eleven.
If there was anything wrong with the house, it was the cellar. We didn' t use it at all because of the mildew and gas/ oil smell. The house should not be advertised as sleeping twelve. We had our four youngest on our air mattresses in their parents' room, and that was fine for now.
John could not have been nicer and more helpful. We would go there again.

Great house! Spacious, comfortable and walking distance to the beach!
This house was perfect for our family vacation. We were a party of 12 and there was plenty of room for everyone. There are multiple gathering spaces, multiple dining tables and big bedrooms. The yard is beautiful and well maintained. We were able to walk to Robert Wheeler beach, which is a great beach for all ages. It was also walking distance to a few restaurants and ice cream spots. John was a pleasure to rent from! The house is well taken care of and he responded to emails/calls ASAP. Thanks for everything John!!

Wonderful!
We had a lovely time!!! John's home is beautiful, clean, well stocked, and located so close to the beach that it was a perfect fit for us. We have a large family and there was plenty of space for the 12 of us to sleep and spread out. Great area for kids to ride their bikes and walk to the take out eateries in the neighborhood. Scarborough beach is a clean, inviting, family friendly place with great waves. Absolutely one of our best vacations ever! So many thanks to John for his hospitality!!

Wonderful Vacation had by all
We were 2 families with 4 kids all under the age of 6 and this house was perfect for us. The basement was huge and held one whole family, complete with their own shower! We spent tons of time in the sunroom hanging out as well as the deck. There was plenty of room for the kids to play outside and the walk to Carrie's to eat or get ice cream was fast and easy. There was also a rocky beach near Carrie's that the kids loved! The house was very clean and John was just a phone call away and answered all our questions about the house and the neighborhood whenever we needed him. We had the most wonderful time in Narragansett, and this house really made the trip - close to everything and a nice relaxing retreat after a busy day at the beach. We will definitely return!

Comfortable, great location
This home was perfect for our family of 12 adults and teenagers, with plenty of room to spread out and have separate space. The three bathrooms all with showers made getting ready to go out so easy. The deck and barbecue were perfect for outdoor eating, with more than enough seating in the sunroom and dining area. A short walk to Aunt Carries for ice cream and Iggy’s for the clam cakes! Beautiful beaches within minutes. Thank you John for sharing you’re home!

Quiet, Convenient, Comfortable
We were a multi-generational group of 10 ages 1 year to 70. We loved the neighborhood and being on a cul-de-sac with beautiful gardens. The beach was an easy 10 minute walk and only a 5-minute walk to Iggy's and Aunt Carries. Rooms were spacious so we didn't feel at all crowded. We cooked a lot at home and found the kitchen to be more than adequately stocked with equipment. Loved the deck, sun room and outdoor shower. The only negative was the lower level bedroom suite which did not have A/C nor a window that could be opened. Thank you John for a lovely week.

We had a great time on our RI getaway. The house was clean and very roomy. My favorite part, less than a 5 minute walk to Iggy's!

A great family vacation home!!
My family has been vacationing at this house for many years. Throughout those years John and Doly have been gracious and accommodating hosts. The rental process is seamless. John has been a pleasure to deal with over the years.
We have loved this home located on a safe, quiet, no traffic cul-de-sac. When we arrive the house is always clean and ready to go.
We have seen our children grow up from infants and toddlers to teens while vacationing in this home. Our oldest will be driving next summer! Each year is a little different but the memories are all cherished.
The house is spacious and has easily handled our family of 10. There are 4 showers including the always popular after a day at the beach outdoor shower. The outdoor deck is private and comes with a grill ready to go 24/7 as it has its own continuous gas line. Over the years we have prepared a majority of our evening meals from this grill. There is also an enclosed deck with large screened in windows, a ceiling fan, as well as a mounted television for breezy evenings catching up with the news of the day or your favorite team.
The home has a fully equipped kitchen that has allowed us to prepare simple to extravagant meals over the years. Windows everywhere catch the ocean air and all of the bedrooms have air conditioning units.
For fun, Salty Brine and Roger Williams State Beaches are within a 5 minute drive and offer calmer waters for the little ones. If you are looking for bigger waves for body surfing or boogie boarding head over to Scarborough State Beach or Narragansett Town Beach within 5 and 10 minute drives respectively. In addition to the beach we have enjoyed charter boat fishing as well as fishing from the Camp Cronin Fishing Area just a short five minutes from home. We have also enjoyed bonfires and kite flying at Camp Cronin. The Block Island Ferry leaves Galilee multiple times a day for a great day trip.
For traditional Rhode Island fare Iggies and Aunt Carries are both within walking distance and offer clam cakes, chowders, fish, lobster, etc. We often buy fresh mussels, clams, lobster, and fish from the local fish monger located minutes away in Galilee. For more extensive dining options Narragansett is a short drive away.
It is hard to go wrong with this property. Yearly I deal with wonderful owners, get to stay in a great vacation home in a perfect location to enjoy all that the Narragansett area has to offer.

Beautiful Point Judith, Rhode Island!
The minute you stepped into this house you felt at home. The house was extremely well equipped. It was spotless and had a beautiful yard. The dining and glass room area provided great family dining and family games! We brought many things we didn't need , like salt, pepper , spices etc. They also had some laundry detergent. The home sits on a small cul-de-sac which made it comfortable with young children. The owner John is there if you need him and very easy to contact. We visited Roger Wheeler State Park almost every day which was perfect. Our grandchildren ages 2,4,6 and 10 were all able to enjoy the small waves with their boogie boards! The sand was soft and very clean. The beach is very wide, but not too deep so you couldn't get a bad spot even when showing up later in the day. You never had to walk too far from your car. Parking is a little pricey, but if you plan on spending 4 or more days consider a season pass. Same as parking for 5 days! we highly recommend this lovely home!!!

Beautiful house!
We rented this house for the academic year 2015-2016. To say this house was great would be an understatement! It is a beautiful beach house that is incredibly spacious and well maintained. The house itself made all 5 of us feel at home (while able to listen to the waves just down the road from the front step)! We had ZERO problems the entire year, and John was always a phone call away if we had any questions. The house is a convenient walk away from Iggys, the Point Judith Lighthouse, Fishermen's Memorial and if you're feeling adventurous the Block Island Ferry in Galilee. What more could you even ask for!?

Great time at the beach in RI
This was our first time to rent in Rhode island and we were very impressed with this rental. The location was great, quiet and close to some great beaches and restaurants. Just a short drive to Providence or Newport. Beautiful bedrooms, so clean and comfortable. The owners were great also, Doly and john checked in with us to ensure how things were going, gave us contact information and left information on the areas happenings and different great places to see.

Perfect Vacation Home-Almost 10 years of Memories
Approaching our 10th year with John and Doly as our host. Immaculate, well-maintained home on a very quiet cul-de-sac. This is a great vacation home. 2 grandparents, 5 parents, 4 children, one teenager and room to spare.
4 showers in all including a large piping hot outdoor shower! Perfect after a day at the beach. The house is a short walk to Sand Hill Cove/Roger Wheeler and just a short drive from Scarborough Beach, Narragansett Town Beach and Salty Brine. You are minutes from Pt. Judith Light House/Camp Cronin and some of the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets on the East Coast.
The Block Island Ferry is just minutes away; the high speed ferry gets you to the Island in 30 minutes, the old school Ferry is an always enjoyable 1 hour. Stay until the the final ferry of the day and catch the sunset from the sea. Multiple local seafood establishments featured on the Food Network are within walking distance. For those that prefer to cook fresh seafood just pulled from the ocean (literally 1-2 hours), there are multiple fish mongers offering the catch of the day. For those that prefer to catch their own, the local charters are minutes away; the angler might also try Camp Cronin for casting from the sea wall for Striper.
To prepare this ocean bounty or any meal, this home is fully stocked with all cookware needed to prepare any meal. Most enjoyable is a large gas grill on the deck off of the kitchen; no need to run for tanks or worry about running out of heat. For any down time, there is a great yard for the kids to play and reliable high-speed wireless connectivity.
In all the years we have been visiting, the only time we have had to call John is when we locked ourselves out; he arrived in less than 30 minutes. Again great customer service; John takes care of everything before hand so that there is nothing to worry about while you enjoying your stay. Drains drain, toilets flush, refrigerator is cold. Bedrooms each have window unit air conditioners for the very hot days as well as windows that open for catching the cool ocean breezes.
Already looking forward to next years trip!

Our group of 9, including 5 adults and 2 teens, stayed here with plenty of room to spare! Four showers, including the outdoor shower with hot water, eliminated those shower lines typical with a larger group. House was very clean, well maintained and comfortable. Favourite area for gathering seemed to be the dining room and attached sun room.
Great location in quiet community with no traffic so kids could run around, play Frisbee and wiffle ball in the large cul-de-sac. Walking distance to restaurants, ice cream shop and semi-private beach. You are a few minutes drive to the Block Island Ferry and charter fishing boats.
Our hosts, John and Doly, were great! They were never intrusive and they were quick to respond to questions and problems. (Our only problem was one of the kids locked the door with the keys inside and we had to have someone come and open it. Our hosts responded quickly.)
We will be back again and will recommend to friends as well!

This is a great vacation home. We had a large family (2 grandparents, 4 parents, 4 children) vacation. This is a large home with room to spare on a very quiet cul-de-sac. The sunroom was perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or catching a Red Sox game late into the evening. A finished basement complete with bedroom area, couch, television, and shower bathroom is a bonus. You are within walking distance to Roger Wheeler (Sand Hill Cove) Beach and just a short drive from Narragansett Town Beach or Scarborough Beach. We enjoyed being minutes from dea sea fishing charters, the Block Island Ferry (1 hour ferry ride from Point Judith to Block Island). Aunt Carrie's, Iggy's, Charlie O's, and Spain are all within walking distance. There is a great yard for the kids to play in as well. 4 showers in all including a large piping hot outdoor shower!!!

My family and I could not have been happier. The house is huge and beautiful, much better than the pictures, which do not include the sunny upstairs bedrooms, especially the huge master (skylights, walk-through closet on the way). And it's just not possible for pictures to capture the lovely fresh salt air breezes.
When we arrived, everyone first noticed the quiet--just birds singing, no traffic noise at all, and the periodic sound of a distant fog horn. At the same time, we could walk to restaurants--several less than 1/2 mile away. (We especially loved the outside deck at the Bon Vue, which overlooks the ocean and the Point Judith lighthouse. My daughter highly recommends the seafood bisque.) Our two favorite beaches--Scarborough for nice waves and Sand Hill Cove/Roger Wheeler for calm water--were an easy bike ride or five minutes away by car (for those of us with young kids who do not travel light. . . )
The house and grounds are beautifully kept with an English-type garden, natural stone wall out back.
John, the landlord, was a perfect host--leaving us on our own as though his home was ours and yet readily available for recommendations about the area (yes, fishing with the Frances Fleet is a great deal and they even clean the fish; and yes, we love the $60 beach parking pass that will enable us to park at every RI state beach as many times as we want for the entire summer; no additional fee to access the state beaches).
Our only possible complaint was that the house is booked for the rest of the season (and beyond, it seems). We would love to return next year.
