The house is absolutely beautiful. My husband and I treated our adult children to a week long vacation (8 adults) and there was plenty of room for us all. The location is perfect! We visited Clayton, Alex Bay and Kingston!! All just a short drive (or ferry ride) away! I would highly recommend this house.

Our family spends one week each year at a different location. Maple Grove was the perfect place for us to relax and watch the freighters. The location was perfect- we were able to walk to and from the French Festival in Cape Vincent.

Our stay at Maple Grove was excellent. It has been several years since I have had the opportunity to stay in Cape Vincent and the house made it more like coming home rather than just a stay. The house is beautiful, well-kept, and comfortable with plenty of room for the eight of us that stayed. We will defiantly book again for next year.

Beautiful location for our family reunion
Maple Grove is a beautiful home full of history, art, books and music! The property manager, Liz, is welcoming and very knowledgeable about the house and the surrounding area. And after check in, she was quick to respond to texts. We were not wanting for space and it had everything we needed, including toiletries, laundry detergent, etc. It is an old home, so it has it's quirks like steep stairs and wonky doors, but nothing off-putting and that's part of its historical charm. Regardless, it's a comfortable home and it It's conveniently located to all the Thousand Islands have to offer, but the best part is just rocking on the front porch, watching the ships go by and the kids play in the front yard. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Beautiful riverside property
Coffee on the front porch every morning watching the boats on the river. Beautiful sunsets every night. Great wineries and distilleries nearby. Lovely local coffee shop. Beautiful historic home with large tables and lots of room for families or friends. Great for our pianist with views of the river while they played . Took a few boat trips to explore the islands. Gardens on property and benches along water to reflect , read or meditate. A great getaway.

Maple Grove Manor, Cape Vincent NY
This house was built in 1838 and is full of history, antiques and was breathtaking. This property also hosts a world renowned junior piano competition in the summer. We were unaware of the incredible history associated with the stunning place, What a wonderful vacation we had. Just one recommendation, any food left by previous renters should be discarded.

Wonderful lodging and location
This was our second stay at Maple Grove and it was every bit as good as the first time. The beautiful house and grounds are in the perfect location to enjoy all of Thousand Islands summertime fun. The caretakers, Liz & Mike, were so nice to have as a resource during our stay.
Maple Grove is as advertised and did not disappoint!

Four Generations Gathering
Maple Grove was perfect for our large, four generation family gathering. The home is beautiful. The location is beautiful. Check in and check out were convenient and easy. The home is well suited to host a crowd: multiple spaces to gather, a well-supplied kitchen, laundry facilities, bathrooms, etc.
The village of Cape Vincent is within walking distance, and makes provisioning or souvenir shopping easy. It's a small, quiet village, and within a few miles of bigger towns if you want more action before retreating back to the solace of Maple Grove.
And, of course, the River...!
The 1.000 Islands area is rich with opportunities to be as outdoors-active as you like. Or, you can rock on the front porch and watch the world go by (literally, as you can watch pilots board and disembark from passing freighters on the seaway).
The property manager, Liz, is gracious and warm. She was quick to respond to any questions and to make sure any of our needs were met.
Owners Bruce and Lynn were gracious and accommodating. (For example, when I asked if we should bring our own crock pots, they purchased an InstaPot so that there was one available).
The grounds are meticulously kept. We played yard games, daily.
Sunset and stargazing are spectacular.
A wonderful spot to gather for warm, playful family time, or just to exhale...

Beautiful Historic home in a perfect vacation setting!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Maple Grove this summer. Chose this location so our entire family could gather to celebrate our son's wedding and to enjoy the area. The historic house is such a gracious, historic, comfortable place. Whether it was for hosting the groom and his groomsmen for breakfast or the family for dinner, enjoying quiet moments reading in the living room or relaxing on the porch (wonderful views of the beautiful blue St Lawrence River), gathering in the family room for conversation and viewing photos, or as a home base to see the many things in the area, it was just perfect. Photos of the garden do not do it justice. Kitchen may be small, but it is very well equipped and you will find everything you need to make meals for a large group. Double washers and dryers and 3 ½ baths were an added plus for our large group. As for sightseeing, you could go to Alexandria Bay to see Boldt Castle or take a cruise of the 1000 Islands, or go to Clayton and visit the charming shops (be sure to include the River Rat Cheese Store) and restaurants, but you could also take a ferry (May to October) directly from Cape Vincent to Canada's Wolfe Island (remember your passports!) and from there (at no extra charge) to Kingston, Ontario, very easily and what a pleasant ride! You can walk on the ferry, bicycle on, or drive your car. Another local attraction is Tibbett's Point Lighthouse and there are a few restaurants, a park, and a very nice grocery store right in Cape Vincent. If we did have concerns about the house or area, the caretakers were readily available and answered our questions. We enjoyed every day of our stay and would highly recommend both Maple Grove and Cape Vincent as a vacation destination.

perfect summer wedding venue
We had a fantastic week at Maple Grove. The property is gorgeous and provides the perfect amount of space to spread out and relax. We hosted a 50 person wedding on Labor Day weekend and utilized the incredible garden for the ceremony, side lawn for our catered BBQ dinner and a tent for live music and dancing. The private access waterfront allowed ample opportunity to enjoy the picturesque St. Lawrence River and its many big ships. We could not have asked for a better venue. The town of Cape Vincent welcomed us warmly and our guests enjoyed the local restaurants, bars, and charming shops. Truly fantastic.

Warm and Gracious Hospitality
We were fortunate to be able to stay a week at Maple Grove. What a beautiful historic house. The history alone is a reason to visit this majestic home built in 1838.
The photos don’t do it justice. The setting for this regal home on the banks of the St. Laurence is so peaceful, the gardens so beautiful.
There are many places to sit and relax either inside the house, outside in various areas of the lawn, a bench on the river bank, or our favorite the front porch with its rocking chairs. Its a perfect place to just sit and watch the ships and boats glide by.
The hosts Bruce and Lynn Taylor are gracious and welcoming. Breakfast included lively conversation about the area and its history, the sights that are a must see, which restaurants to try and where to shop.
We ate breakfast in the large and elegant dining room in the main house. The house is very spacious with various places to sit and relax, the living room, the family room, the screened in porch on the side, or the small deck off the family room
We were able to see all the bedrooms of the main house as well. Each has its special charm. Do not miss the opportunity to visit this scenic spot in Cape Vincent and enjoy the 1000 Islands area.
