About this house rental
In a private agricultural estate planted with citrus and olive trees close to Menton - I rent a restored old sheepfold, extended by a terrace overlooking a beautiful natural panorama towards the sea. The pool is reserved for tenants and is heated from April 15, weather permitting, until October, weather permitting (water temperature at least 23 °). The Carei Valley is classified as a NATURA 2000 site. House enclosed by walls and independent entrance. Safety for children and animals.
HOUSE :
2-room apartment 40 m2, fully furnished and equipped, bow window opening onto a lovely private terrace with sea views, including:
- a main room with kitchen / dining area and lounge / TV / internet area
- a bedroom in master bedroom with bathroom and walk-in shower, wc
EQUIPMENT
- sleeps 4 people: double bed with new bedding and double sofa bed, 2 armchairs
- kitchen: fridge, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, coffee maker, etc.
- terrace: facilities for meals and relaxation, barbecue and deckchairs
- linens provided
Enjoyment of the large panoramic terrace with swimming pool. Swimming pool heated from April to October and reserved for tenants all year round, except July and August when sharing the pool is subject to consultation with the owner.
The sheepfold is ideal for a couple + children. Sheepfold access: the property is 7 minutes from the Menton exit of the A8 motorway.
Access to the sheepfold by car via the Haut-Careï operating path. It is a private road, not open to the public and closed by a gate with key; it starts at the end of Impasse Saint Roman in Menton (GPS). The path is 80% cemented, accessible to all cars except in rainy periods when an SUV is recommended because of runoff. However, any car that is high enough can travel without problems.
ENVIRONMENT
In an agricultural estate planted with citrus and olive trees, the house is the annex of an Italian villa surrounded by greenery, pines and holm oaks. Neighborhood: an old restored sheepfold. We see the sea from the two terraces in the direction of Menton. The town is close to 600m (shops, supermarkets, bus stop, etc.) but the town is not noticeable from the property. Numerous walks in the agricultural area and on the GR 51 hiking trail from Menton to the Col de Testanier which borders the property.

Tolle Lage und sehr viel Privatsphäre
Das Grundstück liegt zwar in den Bergen ist aber sowohl auf dem Fußweg als auch per Auto schnell erreichbar. Super Pool in Mediterraner Umgebung. Man kann wirklich die Wohnung und den Garten alleine genießen.

We are a family of four two children under two and two adults
here’s the issues we had from the start so maybe we should of known it wasn’t going to be good
Firstly we were not given an address so whilst trying to navigate the roads and try and figure out the little information we were given we received a call from the owner who did not speak English at all and we know a little french we managed to meet her at a highway maintenance entrance on an industrial estate you have to let yourself in and out of this place as the entrance to the road is through the yard then you need to drive up a rather steep and scary track we had a 4x4 a car would struggle..
We arrived all the doors were open and windows we were informed to keep a dehumidifier running…at the time as there was no English spoken we didn’t question it assuming it was an air con unit… we were left to it I must add the number of steps to and from the property are steep some appear out of no where so this in it’s self is a bit tricky for small children or even elderly there’s also one large step in the middle of the living/kitchen area which again not suitable it’s just the nature of where the property is positioned and not a fault.
After settling in closing all for the doors for the night to avoid mosquitoes you start to notice a damp smell becoming stronger hence the dehumidifier we then noticed lots of damp in the property that had been painted over but not very well after a few hours we came to realise this had been rented out when it probably shouldn’t of been and the damp was quite bad.
after contact with vrbo we were informed to contact the owner who fortunately lives next to the property so we did see her and via google translate we told her our issues but unfortunately she wasn’t willing to hear our worries and told us that we wouldn’t find anywhere else and we’d be back we shouldn’t of booked somewhere unsuitable for children it was our fault and we would not be getting any money back…we’d only been at the property 12 hours and even though we would lose all the money for a weeks stay it was too bad to stay

It’s terribly damp and smells damp you shouldn’t need to run a dehumidifier it was pulling so much water
the outside lighting is useless I wish I could upload photos as I have many such a shame we lost all that money

In der wunderbaren Natur und trotzdem in Stadtnähe
Perfekt für Ruhesuchende, welche Privatsphäre lieben. Die Zufahrtsstrasse ist beim ersten Befahren eine Herausforderung, aber auch ohne 4x4 machbar, sofern das Auto nicht sehr breit ist. Elisabeth ist eine perfekte Gastgeberin: diskret und doch immer präsent. Alles war sehr sauber. Wir (3 weibliche Personen aus 3 Generationen zwischen 9 und 69) waren alle von unserem Aufenthalt restlos begeistert! Dass man so im Grünen und fernab des Verkehrs sein und trotzdem derart rasch in Menton flanieren kann, ist einfach fantastisch.

Wundervolle Unterkunft mitten im Grünen
Tolle Gastgeberin, großartige Location und wunderbar friedlich gelegen - abseits und trotzdem ist man in ca. 15 min am Meer.
Der Hund hat sich auch sehr wohl gefühlt, wir haben uns sehr willkommen geheißen gefühlt. Wir waren bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal dort.

Traumhafter Ausblick in ruhiger Lage
Der herzliche Empfang durch die Gastgeberin hat uns nach der langen Anreise sofort in Urlaubsstimmung gebracht. Sie hat uns alles ausführlich gezeigt und wir durften gleich die herrlich duftenden Zitrusfrüchte probieren. Hier kann man die Seele baumeln lassen und sich gut erholen. Es ist alles vorhanden für einen schönen Urlaub. Einkaufsläden und die Stadt sind mit dem Auto gut erreichbar. Der Pool und die Terrasse mit Blick zum Meer und in die Berge sind wunderbar.

Wundervolles Anwesen
Wir (2 Erwachsene, ein Kleinkind) hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt in den Bergen von Menton. Wenn man es ruhig und privat mag, ist das wirklich der perfekte Ort. Vom traumhaften Pool, den wir ganz alleine nutzen durften, über die großzügige Terrasse bis zum stilvoll eingerichteten Häuschen war alles toll!! Die Gastgeberin war sehr sympathisch, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Empfehlen wir auf jeden Fall weiter.

Eine wunderschöne Oase zum Entspannen an der Côte d'Azur
Für Entspannung-Suchende genau das richtige! Ein mit viel Liebe zum Detail angelegter Garten, eine private Sonnenterrasse mit Pool, ein toller Blick ins Grüne und auf das Meer Sorgen dafür, dass man vom Alltag Abstand nehmen kann. Die Stadt Menton ist nur ca 4km entfernt, so dass man auch schnell wieder im Trubel ist, falls man das möchte. Die äusserst nette Gastgeberin ist stets erreichbar und gibt viele wertvolle Tipps für den Aufenthalt. Absolut empfehlenswert!
