About this chalet rental
The gîte La Tour in an old restored farmhouse is located 5 minutes by car from the start of the Prorel ski slopes in the Serre Chevalier resort, 5 minutes from the town center of Briançon. Not overlooked, the setting is magnificent with a magnificent view.
It consists of 3 double bedrooms, a family room 2 + 2 and a dormitory with 5 bunk beds, 4 bathrooms (3 bathrooms in winter), a large fitted kitchen, a very large vaulted room with a wood stove (living room, dining room) and a large private garden open to the valley, the old town and the mountains.
Available: barbecue, table tennis, board games, library, wifi, television, DVD player, chair and cot.
Located in a magical place, this large building (with its small adjoining chapel, seems to have been an old priory farm. Quiet in nature, on the edge of the woods, it overlooks the mountains and the medieval town of Briançon. The panorama is magnificent.
The house has been restored with sobriety and authenticity to welcome you with comfort and warmth.
From this place, you can go directly on foot, by mountain bike, cross the forest paths or follow the ancestral irrigation canals.
You will find yourself in the heart of a tourist region with a privileged climate, world renowned. Briançon is an ideal base camp for downhill skiing (Serre Chevalier station), cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ski touring (Névache, Cerces, Queyras ...), mountaineering (Ecrins park), climbing (many climbing sites), road biking (passes: Galibier, Isoard, Lautaret, Granon ...), mountain biking with multiple routes and all whitewater sports and free flight ... without talk about discovery tourism, contemplative, nature, rich in resources.
The town of Briançon offers a wide variety of cultural events (music festival, theater, outdoor shows).

Séjour très agréable
Je recommande cette location par son authenticité, les propriétaire des lieux sont à l’écoute et disponible, personnes très charmantes. Nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable.

Agréable séjour
Nous étions 12 et nous avons passé un agréable séjour, seule bémols, la disposition du chalet un peu éloigné des remontés et l'accès au chalet est un peu délicat.
L'accueil était parfait et chaleureux.

Gîte de caractère, mais un peu trop de déconvenues pour le prix
A lire entier pour éviter une interprétation erronée :-)
Les côtés positifs de l'annonce sont exacts, et l'accueil - avec une tarte de pays et une bouteille de jus d'orange - très sympathique. L'assistance en cas de problème a été très réactive (quoique désagréable et insatisfaisante pour la machine à laver).
Mais ...
- Il n'est pas fait mention du fait que le gîte est occupé par le propriétaire dans sa partie supérieure (entrée séparée);
- Le terme "télévision" est trompeur car il n'y a qu'un simple écran avec lecteur DVD, sans réception de chaînes TV;
- La belle salle de séjour voutée, sombre, très fraîche et trouvée humide, a nécessité d'allumer périodiquement un poêle à bois (pas de tisonnier au passage) pour obtenir une température ambiante convenable;
- L'escalier d'époque aux marches très irrégulières ne convient pas vraiment pour des personnes âgées ou de jeunes enfants;
- La cuisine - abondamment équipée en vaisselle - n'a visiblement pas été entretenue régulièrement; nous l'avons trouvée dans un état de propreté limite (tapis déchirés et tâchés, éponges vétustes, maniques sales, toiles d'araignées sous certaines étagères, certaines pièces de vaisselle sales, tuyau de gaz périmé depuis plus de 6 mois); il y manque une essoreuse à salade et une bassine.
- La semelle dégradée du fer à repasser laisse parfois des traces brunes sur du linge blanc, même lorsqu'on ne se sert pas de la fonction vapeur.
Nous avons en plus eu la déconvenue de trouver une fuite d'eau due au robinet d'alimentation défaillant de la machine à laver, et celle-ci n'a jamais fonctionné durant notre séjour. Le propriétaire a mis du temps a reconnaître cet état de fait, et ne nous a pas proposé d'indemnisation pour cet inconvénient.
Il faut mettre tout ce qui précède dans le contexte particulier d'un changement de propriétaire qui a eu lieu une semaine avant notre arrivée. A l'évidence, l'ancienne propriétaire a laissé filer l'entretien du gîte, et les nouveaux n'ont pas eu le temps matériel de remédier aux problèmes énumérés.
Je recommande donc de lire avec attention les avis des futurs occupants ...
