About this farm stay rental
Comfy red-roofed 2-story colonial set on the Trout River in the middle of a quintessential Vermont village. The house sleeps 8-12 with room for a few more dinner guests. It’s simply decorated, quiet and comfortable. There’s a full kitchen with dishwasher, pots, pans, spices and everything you’ll need, a wood stove in the living room, sectional sofa that seats 10. For entertainment there’s high-speed wifi, cable TV, 50” LCD Flat screen, Nintendo Wii, a fax/scanner/printer, and stereo system with Bluetooth for music streaming.
The best thing about this place is the location smack dab in center of Montgomery Center. This is the only option while visiting Jay Peak where you can walk out your door (day or night) and have a supermarket, liquor store, 3 restaurants, 2 bars, a post office, ski & bike shop, video rental store, pizza shop and gas station. It’s an 8 mile, 15 minute straight shot to the ski lifts in the morning. It’s an extremely convenient, fun location and a great, comfortable home.
We keep the listing calendar extremely up-to-date, so if the calendar says the house is available, it almost definitely is. So feel free to use the Instant Booking feature.

The place was very clean and they thought of many things folks need to have a nice stay.
Front door is not available for use.
Living room furniture was completely used up so much so that it was difficult to get off the couch for my husband. The carpets need restretching. Good thing the little ones couldn't make it as it is very loud quite late into the evening with the sound of partiers and music from The Snowshoe.
Didn't appreciate having to do the laundry. That was a first at a VRBO. of partierr

Reviews and descriptions are spot on! A very cozy house with a babbling brooke running throught the back yard.
An absolute perfect location to walk to restaurants, bars and the grocery store. A small ski Town vibe throughout. Jay peak was a short 15 min drive away.

This was a perfect spot for our family. Cozy, comfortable, with everything we needed. The location was ideal, with the grocery store within walking distance. Only a short drive to Jay. We highly recommend this spot and will definitely stay here again.

Great home with plenty of room for our 2 families, lots of couch space, nice linens and a well stocked kitchen with everything you could possible need. The location is great with the grocery store just a 2 minute walk away and only 10 minutes up the road to Jay. We absolutely recommend it! Thanks

Was close to Jay Peak, about 8 miles probable 10-15 min drive. House is convenient to downtown Montgomery, 5 min walk. Had everything we needed.

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Everything you need in a perfect location. The message chair was a big plus after a long day skiing :)

This farmhouse had plenty of room for both families (8 total) and a dog. The message chair was a hit with kids and adults and you can’t beat the location, just a stone’s throw to the grocery store and the local pub as well as a short drive up to Jay Peak.

Amazing Gem in Montgomery
When we first stumbled upon this house on VRBO, it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Dan is the most thoughtful, gracious host.
He provided us with all the information we needed and was very accommodating. The house is just perfect! It made our stay at Jay Peak very comfortable and enjoyable - can’t recommend enough

Super clean
My family of 4, my mom, and my sister's family of 3 stayed 3 nights. Great location to Jay Peak. A quick 3 minute walk to Main St Montgomery. Landlord is super prompt with replies to questions. Tons of blankets bc the bedrooms are chilly. Fans for white noise to sleep. Everything you need in the kitchen. So clean!!! It was our first ski weekend since my dad passed away. He was the ultimate skier and would have loved it!! We were only challenged by the 3 TV remotes...user Error I'm sure, but maybe some written instructions for the technologically challenged. The volume turned the TV off :)
We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Make sure you have good tires and 4 wheel drive to get up to the mountain in the winter!!!!

Comfortable house in quaint town close to Jay Peak
We stayed with a group of friends/couples and loved this house. It's located in quaint Montgomery Center, a short walk to the market and several restaurants. Very short ride to Jay Peak. The house itself is wonderful - well-equipped, spacious and with a true Vermont feel.

Great stay!
The house was wonderful! It was very clean and had everything we needed. The massage chair was great after a long day of skiing. It was no more than a 15 minute ride from the mountain. Dan was super responsive when it came to any questions we had about our stay. If I were to ski Jay Peak again I would certainly rent from them.

Great stay!
We loved this place for a ski gettaway for the family, including our cat!! Dan was super accommodating w the last minute booking and then making sure all was good w the house. Lots of beds, a fireplace, dining room table for apres ski.....and the location seconds from Montgomery Center (grocer/ski shop/restaurants) was ideal. Highly recommend....

Very convenient spot for a ski weekend
This is an old farmhouse but very comfortable and conveniently located for a ski weekend.

Convenient to Jay Peak
If you are looking for a place to stay near Jay Peak this is it. Straight shot up mountain to resort. Walk to grocery store and pub. Kitchen is tight especially if you plan on having lots of people. Stove is weird with 2 levels but otherwise it was fine for vacation cooking, meaning no big homemade meals.
Furniture is worn but comfortable. Plenty of hot water for after ski showers.
Overall a great place stay for skiing.

Incredible getaway and great house in great location with everyone you could possibly need
The home location was perfect and the home had everything we needed for a great stay. We will be returning without question. Our kids loved it. Lots of games and very spacious. I was surprised at just how close and easy it was to get to jay peak resort. Literally right up the hill 15 mins. I highly recommend staying here for a great ski getaway

Great house!
What a great property! Montgomery Center is lovely little ski town. The house was clean and well-equipped -- they had everything we needed. The pictures actually don't do it justice -- it's very spacious and charming in person. The fireplace was wonderful after a long day at the slopes. The owners were responsive and friendly.

Highly recommend
We had a great stay at this property in December 2017 for 4 nights.
We were looking for an affordable property that could sleep a bunch of people.
This property fit the bill perfectly. The beds were all extremely comfortable.
The owners Dan and Chris were very responsive and answered any questions we had.
The kitchen could use some updating, but overall we were very happy.
It was 15 minutes to Jay Peak Resort.

Great ski weekend at Jay Peak!
A group of friends and I stayed at Dan's cozy house for a ski weekend at Jay peak. Dan was very communicative and helpful. The house comfortably sleeps 10 and has nice living room with fireplace. The location is great- 15 minutes to the mountain and just next door to the best bar around- the snowshoe lodge. Would definitely recommend!

Cozy comfortable home with charactter
Comfortable well appointed house right in town for supplies and restaurants. Lots of room for the group to relax. Close to Jay Peak.
Only issue we could find is you need some over mitts & maybe a juice container.
Good value for a group.

Good Location, Nice place to stay
We stayed there for 2 days and 2 nights. We really like the living-room area with the chimney!
The owner was very helpful and provides all the infos that we needed.
The first night was a bit cold, some extra blankets upstairs would have been nice :)
Definetely a good place to stay if you want to enjoy Jay Peak slopes.

Great Location, Great Value
This was our first visit up to Jay Mountain for some family skiing. Nothing beats ski-on/ski-off but this is a great second option that is a whole lot more reasonable for a big crew. We had 9 in all and this house worked out great. The beds are all comfortable, the house was clean and with Wifi, Apple TV and a big sectional, the kids were more than content after a day on the slopes. The house is only 10 minutes to Jay and is in a great location. There is a small market and a couple of restaurants within walking distance. The one bathroom can be a little challenging with a big crew but it really wasn't a problem for us and if you go to the water park, everyone can shower at the same time there. The Inn is a cool spot near the house to grab a drink . We didn't eat there but I hear the food is pretty good. We did have dinner at the Bellfry down the road and I would highly recommend this place, cozy atmosphere and the food was terrific! I would definitely rent this house again when we come back to Jay sometime.

Great Ski House!
This house is your quintessential ski house that can sleep 9 or so people comfortably. After a long day on the slopes, you can come back and cook up a nice meal in the fully equipped large kitchen, play a few games, watch a movie or surf the internet. When your group is ready, walk a few steps to the Snowshoe lodge next door for a few beers with no need to get into a car. The grocery store is also a few steps away. Very convenient, and truthfully, one of the best reasons we chose to rent here for a long weekend. Not having to get into the car after getting back from the slopes. One bathroom is a bit of a bottleneck with large groups, but we hardly had a problem taking turns. The colder bedrooms didn't bother anyone in our group either. Plenty of blankets and comforters to cuddle up to at night. We had a great stay and would stay again in the future.

Wouldn't Stay Anywhere Else
House was very neat and well-organized when we arrived. A lot of open space and room to get comfortable. After about a half hour you feel as if you're in your own home. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for more than the usual hotel room experience. There really is no substitute.

Disappointing
The property is conveniently located to the village and Jay Peak access road. The home has a lot of potential for a family or small group and the owners are polite and very responsive. That is why i allow myself to give it one star.
Unfortunately, upon arrival we found the home to be dirty and inadequately maintained, delivered below minimally acceptable standards of cleanliness for a vacation home. We are a family of four (kids age 9 and 10) with basic expectations of cleanliness (not Four Seasons expectations) when we travel, whether renting a home or staying in a hotel. This home was not rental-ready. I first attributed the situation to perhaps a breakdown associated with local cleaning service. But surprisingly, the owners actually acknowledged the property's imperfect cleanliness when i complained. They didn't find it overly dirty, saying that they "don't treat the house as a primary residence, it is more of a ski house. " It really would have been nice to know this before I rented the property.
My family encountered the following:
* linens not clean
* kitchen/bathroom floors dirty, shower not scrubbed
* dirty carpeting
* furniture/window sills grimy and undusted
* refrigerator with spills/stains
In addition, there was no cable/wi-fi as advertised, and the heating system blows inefficiently with upstairs vents located only in the bathroom and hallway, not in the bedrooms. Not really ideal or comfortable for a family of four on a cold, 3-day ski weekend.
Our first nite at this property was our last. It turns out that the Ski Gods didn't cooperate anyway with freezing and pouring rain throughout the first nite and day. We enjoyed the water park ( great for kids and adults) and mountain on our first day. The mountain ended up closing on what would have been our second day, but we were already gone.
Our experience was disappointing and really was unnecessary. The owners should take the proper (basic), measures to clean the property appropriately and deliver it professionally, or be more candid about their maintenance practices with prospective renters. Some people may actually be fine with these conditions, but all should be aware.

Awesome Place to Stay
The house was a blast to stay at. 5 feet of snow the week before helped out since the conditions at Jay were outstanding, but all around we could not have asked for a better time. The mountain is about a 15 minute drive away which was perfect for us. You could walk across the street to a store that had everything you needed. There was plenty of room to sleep with couches that pull out as well as plenty of bed space. Kitchen was very roomy to cook in and eat and the living room was set up perfect with the fireplace and nearly brand new TV. We would love to come back and enjoy the place again. The owner was very easy to talk to and answered any and all questions from the first email to cell phone texts about the house during the stay. A+ Service. You cannot go wrong with this place! Thanks again Chris!

Not super amazing, but VERY GOOD!
Forgot to post up a review of this, we were a group of about 10 people, was my first time looking to book a cottage in Jay and these guys did a great job at the booking. Place was clean, entertainment was there...heating in the rooms though wasnt (i guess the heated covers werent working) but once under them, warmth was found lol.
Had issues with the stove (probably fixed by now) but who cares?! They had a skillet which made for epic meal times. The balconies ensured fresh 'beverages' and more storage spaces for our ski/snowboard gear.
And they were available for us (by phone or email) to provide assistance. Would've gotten a 5 if it werent for those 2 issues aforementionned. Location is great (next to grocery store) although it is a good 10-15 minute drive to the mountain, it's definitely worth it!
I'm going back to jay this year and the place is booked throughout march so im out of luck this year but i recommend it!

Great Everything!
We had the best time while staying there for a week-end. The house is well prepared. You can't ask for anything more. 15 min drive to the mountain. Supermarket across the street. Amazing! Thanks again.

Snowboard Trip
Loved the house!!!! Well furnished, clean linens, clean kitchen... washer, dryer everything we needed was there. Close to resort, grocery store, gas station, bank... superb location :) just a lil downer... for 8 people, we wished it came with more than one bathroom. But we learned to share :P
Your online description was spot on and even nicer than expecting.
So, other than adding one more bathroom, a hot tub outside would be a bonus lol!!! Thanks again for the house. We would for sure consider it for future visit!
