We really enjoyed the rental. The location was ideal for us. We have stayed at numerous locations on the Oregon coast but we had never even heard of Bella Beach. It is a great beach to walk on and the view of it from the house was fantastic. We also enjoyed being able to walk to the little Café in the community and dinning in Depot bay was so good we ended up not cooking any of the food we brought which is very unusual for us. We definitely plan on going back.

Beautiful home just as the pictures show. Quick, easy beach access, and we watched whales from the hot tub! Definitely will stay here again! A++++ home!

Nice location but not suited for elder people or those that have difficulty with stairs.
Need to take stairs to main living area and many stairs to beach.

We were unable to park in the garage due to a larger refrigerator in the space. Parking is a huge problem in Bella Beach, regardless. We had guests coming to the beach to reunite after the shutdown. Be aware, our family was just coming to the beach, not to stay, BUT given the 8 people only ,we couldnt have our family even come in to use the bathroom. We had to tell our family members to go back home and others not to come at all.
I understand the need to protect homeowners, but given the cost of this unit and constraints, camera use...etc..I will not rent with Meredith Lodging again. I have rented 4 houses from them and this will be my last.

I could (and did) sit and watch the waves from the deck or hot tub for hours. Access to the beach is very close. The house is beautiful and well maintained.

Really nice house! Couldn’t ask for a better location or view, right on the water! Arrived on a Friday afternoon. Unfortunately there were a few things wrong: freezer door was frozen shut. When I was able to get it open there must be a loose seal since there was frost and ice built up, causing the door to be open slightly. Scraped it all off, took about 30 minutes, then had to clean the floor since there was water everywhere. Next mission was to make sure the hot tub was warm. It was not. It was dirty, no cover, pieces of styrofoam floating and dirt on the bottom. Next I tried to turn it on, nope, no power. Tried everything. Called the office, they had no suggestions and said they’d call me back. Another 30-40 minutes pass the office calls and suggests I check the circuit breaker. I check the breaker, I reset the breaker, I flip back and forth checking the screen on the hot tub in between each test. Nothing! Went back upstairs and called the office. They said they were sorry and someone would be in touch the next day. Still Friday, it’s about 9pm now, decide to turn on the gas fire, well that was yet another disappointment. Flipped the on/off switch, turned and held the pilot switch while punching the starter. Sparks but nothing caught. I gave up after a while. Since no hot tub, the primary bath has a jacuzzi tub. Yay! Wrong, it has a tub, the jets didn’t work. Filled the tub past the jets, hit the switch, nothing. Added a little more water tried again, and again. Tried the circuit breaker trick for the tub too, nothing! I gave up and went to sleep. Maintenance comes to house around 1:30pm Saturday, cleans the hot tub, then spends the next 40 minutes trying to get it to power on. Somehow he did! Now we have to wait until gets warm. Put it this way… I never got in the hot tub. Around 1am Sunday there is a terrible rattling noise. Woke us all up. Found it was the front of the fireplace shaking so hard like it was possessed. Then it stopped went back to bed. Not 15 minutes later, it happens again, and continued off and in throughout the night. I thought it might be the wind on the chimney pipe so I braced something against the front to keep it from shaking. Didn’t work. Scared the heck out of us realizing since it’s gas and there could be a serious problem. It was still doing it the next morning and there was no wind. Couldn’t wait to get out! Left 2 hours ahead of schedule as we were all exhausted after being up for most of the night.

Easter trip
We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the house (especially with the pandemic going on) and loved the view! We even saw whales from the deck one morning. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels. We brought our own kitchen needs, but the house was very well stocked. The internet worked great, and the kids enjoyed the ping pong table.
The only thing we personally would add, would be batteries in the clocks so they work and potholders in the kitchen. Great stay, thank you!

Disappointing Stay
The first disappointment was we were informed that the hot tub would not be available which was one of the main reasons we chose this property. Then on our first full day the stove stopped working which forced us to change our menu which was already planned and food purchased. Our next alternative was the gas grill which had an empty tank,. We had to purchase a new one.. I contacted management and a guy was sent out. He could not fix the stove. The next day another guy came and he could not fix it either. I contacted management 3-4 times in the days following to request some kind of discount due to the fact that out of 8 potential meals we were only able to prepare 3 due to the broken stove. We also were not reimbursed for the tank of gas we had to purchase. We still have not had a response to our requests.

The location and view are spectacular and the amenities were wonderful! It was the perfect spot for our family to spend time together. We liked the fact that it was not in the midst of a busy town with lots of people on the beach. The only thing I would suggest is that there be a place to put the cushions for the outside furniture to keep them dry as they never dried out enough to use the chairs on the deck. All told it was a wonderful and memorable vacation and we hope to return very soon!

Our little family of four had an amazing stay at the Looking Glass. The home was clean, offered an amazing view of the ocean and lulled us to sleep at night. Hot tub is tiny but perfect for two people...very romantic. Love the close beach access. Nicely appointed blankets to cuddle up with and lovely kitchenware. The fireplace was nice and the deck chairs were comfy. Over all, we would stay again in a heartbeat. Master bed was exceptional, two lower bedroom beds were subpar. One was full of springs.....hopefully they will change out the mattress soon. Otherwise, a great weekend at Bella Beach.

Just amazing. Such a CLEAN house. We rent a lot of places all over the country but often at the coast and this cleaning crew is by far the best! So impressed with the house upkeep. Decor was perfect and tasteful and not full of grandmas seashells. Very modern feel. Lots of wildlife right outside the door. Whales, sea lions, tons of birds! We didn't need to watch much tv with the views but when we did, this was by far the best set up for DVDs. It went directly to the channel and played. No lengthy instructions or anything. We are going again next month. This is our new go to beach rental!

Family Time at Beach
Sitting on top of a bluff above the surf, this home is open, comfortable and has a fabulous view. There was plenty of room to spread out so people could pursue their own activities but still be together.

Not overly thrilled
When making reservations, I looked at the price, location, and photos of the facility. It all lead me to believe this would be a luxurious place to stay. Upon arriving and checking in, I must say I was disappointed. I will certainly look at other options when planning my next vacation to the coast.

Weekend Stay after Phase 1 reopening
This place was amazing. Gorgeous inside and right on the beach. Amenities abound. We had a few technical issues with the house and the property manager was always helpful and caring. The neighborhood was charming. Was not very crowded and people were social distancing and kind. Restaurants just reopened as well as shops, all were following safety protocols. The house has an unbeatable view of the sunset from the hot tub and if you look close you see pelicans, whales and seals. I highly recommend this rental!

New Years at the beach
The property and location itself were wonderful. The reason for the 4 stars- The dishwasher was broken.. (NO ONE wants to do dishes on vacation). Also- The cleaners left a load of wet towels in the washer along with the pillow cases. We were pleased that they were washed, however, no one wants to do laundry the moment vacation starts. Secondly a white comforter in one of the downstair closets was filthy (had a fresh large urine stain) and was folded in the closet ready for someone to use. When we opened the closet to put our clothes away you could smell the mess. Overall the house was lovely. The cleaning/cleaners needs to be stepped up a notch

Great Thanksgiving at Depoe Bay
There were 7 of us, including three teenagers, and 2 dogs. Everyone had a great time and the long walks on the beach with the dogs was wonderful. The house is great with wonderful views of the beach and the kitchen is well stocked so it made preparing our Thanksgiving feast easy. Highly recommend, but next time would ask for a 4 bedroom.

Bella Beach is true
An amazing location with a beautiful beach. Spent hours just strolling on the sand or watching the sunset from the deck. Beds very comfy, fireplace made it feel cozy at night and the kitchen had all the pots, pans and utensils we could need. Will definitely be back!!!

This was the perfect home for our family getaway. It was very clean and felt like home immediately. The view was spectacular and the beach was truly right down the staircase.

Wonderful home
great house tastefully decorated. Wonderful beach. Centrally located to do all sorts of activities. The house is equipped with a lot of games puzzles a ping pong table bicycles it was great

Needs Maintenance
We travel a lot. If it was one thing, then I would not be writing this review. Every time something else was found then it just kept building up for a so so experience and we will not be coming back.
The check in process was easy. There must be past guests that have pets due to amount of sneezing that we we we doing. The hot tub was not used by us because it smelled off/not right. The downstairs shower would not drain and you stood in water so everyone had to use the upstairs shower. The toilet paper was the thinnest I have ever used and there was only 2 rolls for the days that we were there! There was only 1 roll of paper towels and no garbage bags. We had to purchase. Dishwasher door broken and went to the ground. Ice maker makes 10 cubes a day and had to buy ice. Microwave is broken and does not cook. For the amount of money we spent, this is not acceptable. Should be more like the rate of a motel 6.
Positive note. The view was great and we saw wales, but don't look through the binoculars that are cracked and don't work.
If they can fix all of the problems then this place would be great.

Good Morning , just wanted to follow up on a couple of Issues with our stay. When we arrived Friday I noticed the hot tub was about a foot lower than the jets.With the jets exposed we couldn't turn the jets on because it would shoot water everywhere. I called and was told to add water with a hose which i did. I also noted on the first phone call that the light fixture above the hot tub was just dangling by the electrical wires and was not fastened to the house in any way. We then noticed that the hot tub had some kind of leak and we leaking onto the patio of the condo below. I Again called and this time left a message. I got a call back letting me know that a hot tub technician would come by on Saturday morning and try and resolve the issue. No one ever came Saturday to look at it and get it operational nor did I receive a follow up call regarding no one coming showing up to resolve the problem .

Hard to see enough to cook or put a puzzle together. Kitchen not really suitable for preparing a group meal. Amenities lacking - many items you would never use and one or none of others. Netflix only access was in master bedroom.
