About this house rental
The Beach House is a turn-of-the-century, twenty-room home that was used as a boarding house for young college women working in the large luxury hotels of the lumbering era in Northwestern Michigan. The charm remains with quaint living rooms, individual kitchens and bathrooms in each of the four living quarters. There is 1 one-bedroom unit, 2 two-bedroom units, and a four bedroom unit which are rented together during the summer months, making it ideal for a family gathering! Starting in the fall of 2024, we are offering smaller spaces at a discounted rate (as listed) during the non-peak months for the upstairs or downstairs units.
Each place includes a flat screen TV with built in DVD, fully equipped kitchen, refrigerator, and range. There is a common picnic area and gas grills on the side lawn and a huge deck on the second floor overlooking the lake. If you have a special request, ask to see if we can accommodate it.
The house is located within feet of the east end of Crystal Lake, between the children's playground and boat launch on Beulah's town beach. The bike trail that connects Thompsonville and Frankfort is just around the corner.
There are also several restaurants and shops in this charming community. If you are ready for more exploring, Frankfort, Elberta Beach, Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Point Betsie, are all within a short drive.
Hope you enjoy your time in Northern Michigan, regardless of where you stay!
Weekly rentals are from 4:00 p.m. Saturday through 10:00 a.m. Saturday the following week.
If you are considering a trip before Memorial Day and after Labor Day, we may accommodate shorter stays and smaller groups at discount.

We had a large, multigenerational family vacation and the Beulah Beach House was the perfect place for us to be together! The individual units with their privacy and ability to either open up or lock off made it easy to put kids to bed at different times and give some folks privacy while still giving us a sense of togetherness! The kitchens were well-stocked, the house came with two propane grills (crucial for cooking big meals), and the property's location across from Beulah Beach is unbeatable. The renovation on this house is fantastic-- we absolutely loved the big decks, the gazebo, and the many seating options (lots of chairs, picnic tables, etc.). Linens, beds and furniture were very comfy and everything was clean and well-appointed. Scott and Nancy were communicative and kind hosts and even arranged a towel rental for us from the local laundromat! (We traveled from afar and couldn't bring our own towels.) 10/10 would stay again in a heartbeat. Such a fantastic experience!

This is a beautiful big, 3 story white home with huge porches, 1st & 2nd floor, overlooking Crystal Lake. The entire family enjoyed watching the sunsets each evening from the front porch. My husband & I shared the smaller, older unit 2, located on the first floor which was perfect for us because it provided privacy but also allowed had inside passage to units 1 & 3 or outside passage to all units, including 2nd floor and unit 6 on the top floor. Our 3 sons & families were in the other units. Each of 5 kitchens were well supplied with all we needed. The beds were all comfortable. Living room areas in each of the 5 units were also nice enough. TVs with DVDs in each unit were nice too as well as having Wifi. We also were glad to have access to two out door grills and many tables for meals. Overall, I think this vacation rental was better than others we've rented. The floors were really clean when we arrived. The entire house looked like they definitely have very good cleaners. The only thing I thought I would miss is not having a washer of dryer and not being provided towels or beach towels but that didn't seem to be a problem. It was good that they provided paper towels, dish towels and dish clothes, plus dish soaps. Bathrooms were well supplied with toilet paper and hand soaps. thankful that they did leave one hand towel and floor bath mats in each bath. Overall, I definitely give this home a 5 star rating.

Multi family holiday vacation. First timers in the area during winter and we enjoyed our time. Only 15 minutes from the ski lodge and shopping is close and convenient. The units were clean and stocked with everything we needed. The host responded quickly to questions and was friendly and professional. We would stay here again.

This older, historic house feels like a cottage yet with modern amenities and a newly renovated 2nd floor. The units allowed for the 15 of us church friends (6 couples and 3 singles) to have separate sleeping rooms. Each unit can be entered from the outside as well as from the inside. Access to unit 1’s restroom requires passing through a bedroom, but this was doable. I enjoyed using the outside stairs from the 2nd floor deck to Unit 6 on the 3rd floor, as the view of Crystal Lake is so nice. It’s a 10-minute walk to the clean Beulah laundromat and the Cherry Hut, both conveniently near one another. Frankfort and Elberta beaches and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore are an easy car ride away. Our group spent much time chatting under the large front porch gazebo and admiring the lake view. We would like to return next year!

We had a large multigenerational family group and rented the entire property - all units. There are multiple units - some with inside interconnection options. The first floor units require exit and reentry to get to the second and third floors - but no concerns. It was really ideal to ensure each family had their own space - refrigerator, kitchen as well - while still allowing us to have common meals and game time all together - inside or outside on two decks. The location near town, near the beach, near hiking trails, near a playground was also ideal for adults and grandchildren of a wide range of ages. One family’s bedtimes still allowed others to gather for a drink or games, or walk a short distance into town for a drink. The host did a wonderful job communicating and keeping a “hundred year old” or so home in very good shape. The main second floor kitchen was very well stocked with dishes, knives, pans, etc. Two propane grills allowed us to cook for the collective easily. We couldn’t have been more pleased.

I cannot express how awesome this property is. Plenty of room, privacy and extras throughout and super convenient distance to grocery and supply stores. For our group of 18 adult we had 2 gas grills, 5 refrigerators, 6 ovens and any cooking tool you needed. Except for a pizza cutter. Scott, you may need to stock a pizza cutter;-) The owner was a joy to communicate with and the we even met some of his family in our adventures out and about. Let me just say that one week is not enough time to do everything there up in the Beulah area. It doesn't matter if you're a shopper, foodie, brewery/winery nut, adventurer, beach comber, etc. There is something for absolutely everyone at every age. The new Gazebo shelter and beach were amazing! If we could give you more than 5 Stars we would. Beautiful Beaullah!

We had our entire family of 17 with 3 generations represented, and we had a great time. Loved Beulah, the beach was right across the street, and there were lots of other activities nearby. Good place for multiple families.

I’m the 2nd of four generations that consider Beulah the family place to unwind. This property was ideally suited for me, siblings, and offspring with offspring. Other than a painful neighbor- it was lovely. The house has everything except yardspace. So beautiful- and the owner is awesome.

This house was great! Perfect location right across the street from the beach. It is also located right behind the cute little downtown of Beulah, MI. Highly recommend renting this house.

The house was perfect. The divided units worked perfectly for our group to give those that wanted privacy their own space. The house is perfectly in the center of the beach right across the street. The street is not busy, very few cars drive across it. The beach is nice. The second floor balcony is very large with many chairs to enjoy the sunsets across the lake. The lawn is large enougn for the kids to play spike ball or jam can. And the side yard is large enough for corn hole. If you are looking for food, the house backs up directly to downtown. Within a 1 minute walk you are on main street with several breweries as options. The food at the breweries is well above expectations. Frankfort is only 9 miles away with excellent food choices. The location to the beach and downtown made this property a better choice for us....no need to drive around. The main unit is nicely updated but the others are dated, but I still give this property high marks.

Our family of 8 adults and 12 kids enjoyed this beach house rental. Plenty of room for everyone. Scott and Nancy were very responsive to our questions and concerns. We would recommend this property highly to large groups.

The Beach House was the perfect place for our family reunion. The layout of the house provided a great central gathering and eating area along with separate spaces for each part of our family. The location gave us easy access to the beach and a short walk to the shops in Beulah. The house was very clean and well supplied with kitchen appliances and cookware.
The house was very comfortable for all seventeen of us from age one year to those of us in our sixties.

We do an all family vacation every year at different locations. This was our 22 nd year. We had plenty of space and comfort for our large family reunion. The house was clean, quiet and in a great location. Beulah is a lovely town and so much to do.

Great experience for everyone involved! Beulah is a great town, with everything within walking distance. We had 3 families staying for the week with a few little ones running around. The house was perfect, plenty of room for everyone. Sunsets on the upper deck, the beach just across the street. We had the beach to ourselves every morning until about noon. Never too crowded though. We rented from the marina on the lake twice. There are docks to tie off too during the day at the south end of the beach, about a 2 minute walk back to the house. Highly recommend checking this place out for any family/group get together you may be planning.

We are a large family group of 25, that have been coming to the beach house for at least the last ten years. It’s our favorite place with plenty to do, but also a place to relax and enjoy family. Thanks to Scott & Nancy for all the beautiful renovations, air conditioning, and all the special touches they have made. The small town of Beulah have added new shops & restaurants that we really enjoyed too. We also visited St Ambrose winery that was within about 5 miles, and it was very enjoyable. If you have a large group and like togetherness, but also like your private time, if you like to watch sunsets, if you like being at the beach with a beautiful lake right at your “fingertips” and a small quint town around the block, then I can’t say enough about The Beach House.

I recent stayed in the "Beach House" in Beulah and had one of the best vacations of my life.Located directly across the street from stunningly beautiful Crystal Lake, the house was the perfect headquarters for a reunion with my children, and grandchildren plus my siblings and their children and grandchildren. In all there were close to 35 family members in the area with 17 staying in the house's various 5 apartments. While we were very respectful of the neighbors, we held a family parade in from the house, our own version of the Olympics and a scavenger hunt. All the while, the good natured people of Beulah observed and cheered, and even took part in our shenanigans.. including the local sheriff. The house is equipped with beach toys, a bicycle, and plenty of lawn and deck seating. Each apartment come with anything you could imagine, and the second floor unit (formerly two units) has been renovated and it quite spectacular - both inside and out - and the view from the interior windows and the deck could not be any better.Three of the five units are air conditioned and unfortunately while we were there it was quite warm (and I was in a lower unit without A/C) but we all survived. Who would imagine the need for A/C in Northern Michigan! The local area is jam packed with things to do and the house is located minutes from the wineries of the Frankfort, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, Leelanau Peninsula and the beauty of Suttons Bay, Traverse City, Torch Lake and Crystal Mountain's Alpine Slide... and we visited them all. We also kayaked Crystal Lake, rented a pontoon boat for the week (daily playing in the lakee and watching sunsets,) rented paddle boards and bicycles. We truly took advantage of everything Beulah and the surrounding area had to offer.I reserved the Beach House many months in advance and worked with Scott throughout the process and he made everything flow smoothly.Since our return to real like a week ago I have continue to get emails from everyone saying what a wonderful choice the Beach House in Beulah was. We all would highly recommend this place to ANYONE.
