About this cottage rental

If you like island living and are seeking a unique romantic get-a-way, you will LOVE our property. With a Caribbean/surfing theme you will be able to enjoy your stay with us in a private setting. Our cozy cottage has two rooms but all you need to relax and unwind. The outside area has tropical trees along the pathway to our pool and sun deck for your enjoyment. Music is also an added pleasure around the pool area with outdoor sound system. The garden shower (and only shower) is just outside the cottage doors, completely private and unique as you can see in the photos. Our guests have a private entrance to the cottage on the back of the property. There is a cozy porch with Adirondack chairs for relaxing. Bicycles, Beach chairs, surfboard, and cooler are provided for your beach fun. The property is located behind our home on a quiet cul-de-sac with no noise except for the songbirds chirping in the mornings. Short 10 minute drive to either Folly Beach or to downtown historic Charleston. We have many guests celebrate honeymoons, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, and other Charleston events throughout the year. A long list of things to do as well as favorite restaurants are provided by past guests as well as family and friends. Our pool is unheated and located behind the main home and being the only guests, you will be able to enjoy it on your own. We have a strict no-pet policy so please do not ask for an exception. Beautiful, unique and relaxing place to stay for our weekend trip to Folly Beach and Charleston. The private pool and outdoor, tropical shower were great touches. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely time staying here, but felt like it maybe overemphasized it's closeness to Folly Beach. Loved the outdoor shower, but for a "romantic" stay would definitely have preferred to have a door on the bathroom. Also definitely had a mildew problem and all our clothes came home smelling of damp.

It was our first time to Folly Beach and my wife and I stayed at the Kokomo Cottage. We stayed for 2 nights and it was the perfect little stay. Easy access to the beach and to Charleston. After a morning at the beach, we floated in the pool and captured some more sun. It had everything we needed and felt very private. Nice design touches makes you feel you're right at the beach. Would definitely consider if my wife and I are looking for an easy getaway!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Kokomo and didn't want to leave! Ken and Christine are lovely people, were very accommodating, and you hardly knew they were around. The location is perfect as it's 10 minutes to downtown, 10 minutes to Folly Beach, and 30 minutes from the airport. The cottage is a perfect romantic getaway or an excellent base of operations from which to explore all the area has to offer. We can't wait to visit Kokomo Roatan next!

We loved Ken and Christine. They’re so sweet and chill. They had all the beach stuff you could need !! It’s a little pricey for the amenities you’re getting though. It is indeed a shared pool. Not private. The bed was not as comfortable as I thought it would be. Overall we’re super chill about where we stay. Just a few things to consider.

We absolutely loved our 5-night stay at Kokomo Cottage. It was quiet, peaceful and exactly what we needed after a hectic tax season. Rather heading to Folley Beach, or downtown Charleston for a day of shopping, sightseeing or an incredible dinner, the Cottage is centrally located to everything we wanted to do. Owners ensure your privacy and were very helpful, as needed! We loved our vacation and didn't want to leave! Thanks Ken and Christine!!!

We loved our stay at Kokomo for our 5 year wedding anniversary! Being 15 minutes away from historic downtown Charleston and under 15 minutes from Folly Beach made it the perfect combination for a memorable stay! The cottage was exactly as advertised and the hosts were always prompt on responding to any inquiries we had. We would highly recommend for anyone looking for a Charleston getaway!!

My mother and I went to Kokomo for a girls week. I wanted her to experience my favorite city, Charleston. We also got some beach time at Folly beach. It was great. The accommodations were great and the host were very welcoming.

We came to Kokomo cottage for a birthday getaway and had a lovely time! Ken was extremely responsive and quickly answered any questions we had. Check in was super easy, we had tons of privacy and really enjoyed the pool area. Would absolutely book again!

On assignment in Greensboro NC and missing home a little bit ( NH Seacoast) so we thought we’d visit Charleston SC and all it’s history cuisine and the ocean. Never made it to Charleston but really enjoyed the Folly Beach area, Pier 101 and SC lowlands. So pretty. Found Edison and enjoyed two lovely meals right around the corner from our Kokomo home base. Many thanks to Ken and Christine for sharing their little slice of heaven with us and letting us watch the Bruins game poolside. Too short to enjoy all the area has to offer but a great getaway. Will be back. C

Cute place in a backyard in a quiet neighborhood on James island. Nice outdoor space for reading and relaxing. Only a twenty minute drive to downtown Charleston. The only only thing we missed was a stove where we could cook meals but with so many great places to eat out, we didn't miss it that much!

Nestled in a quiet and very convenient neighborhood, we felt as if we were in a bungalow on a private beach. The pool was cold, but inviting. Hosts are amazing. Looking forward to a return in the future.

We loved our stay! My partner was hesitant about the outdoor shower, but it ended up being our favorite part. The shower pressure and water temperature was better than the Hyatt we stayed at in downtown the night prior! The owners thought of everything to include with the rental. It was equal distance between downtown and the beach. We loved having access to some beach chairs and towels to take with us to the beach. It was a very private location. Quiet. We will book again when in the area.
