Located at Palm Island Resort on Florida’s Southwest Gulf Coast. No bridges or causeways to the island exist, which ensures a relaxed, tropical vacation setting.
The island resort encompasses a two-mile portion of private, pristine beaches on the northern end of Palm Island.
Guests travel to the island via car ferry and park their car in our island parking area. Transportation is provided by our bell staff and golf carts are also available for rent for registered guests.

We celebrated Mother’s Day here and it was simply perfect. Beautiful views, comfy beds, well stocked.. the pool is steps ways and we enjoyed the best sunsets. We rented a golf cart while on the island.. Definitely plan to return!

It was a nice weekend. However, I was displeased to find dried blood on the guest bedroom light switch on the wall and dried blood on ashower towel up in the loft bathroom. The villa needs a lot of updating, the chairs around the dining table are very low compared to the table.

This property is in need of some updates. The ceiling fan on the porch is rusted and squeaks really bad when on. The cabinets in the downstairs bathrooms are broken and need new hinges. The upstairs blinds need to be updated, they are broken and hard to open-which is probably why they are broken. I would not recommend this property to anyone at this price. The beds and furniture are uncomfortable. You go to the beach to vacation to relax and it is hard to do when you cannot sleep good. I would recommend some better pillows and bedding. The upstairs beds in the loft are very small, and extremely uncomfortable...even with the egg crate... my 9 & 10 yr old complained all week. Your review on the website should reflect that these beds are for small kids. The furniture outside is also uncomfortable. Some high-top chairs would give a better view of the ocean. You need to put things like dish towels and pot holders in the kitchen. A larger trash can in the kitchen also, especially for families who cook several meals a day, that small one fills up fast. You also have an aunt problem in the kitchen, making sure your bait traps stay changed out would be helpful. All this to say, the management was awesome and very friendly to accommodate what they could. I will definitely come back to this location but I will not recommend this condo to anyone.

I've been coming to the resort with family 25+ years. This year the airline changed our flight to very early in the morning. We arrived earlier than expected with our luggage. 3 teens, and $700 worth of perishable food. The bellhops (who were awesome) loaded our bags and food onto their cart for transport to the unit. We arrived at 2 PM and check in is at 3 PM. The room was listed as ready on their information sheet they use with housekeeping. The nice young lady at reception was ready to help and told us the room was in fact clean. But Melissa, hollering from her back office, would not allow us in the unit before 3 PM, not even to put our food in the refrigerator. She made no attempt to help us whatsoever. Our food just sat on the bellhop cart in 100degree Florida heat. I understand the 3 PM check in rule, but this is a resort, not a Holiday Inn. In the hospitality industry, every attempt should be made to help out the guest with any and all issues. Melissa did not. I pleaded with her to no avail. Fortunately, the bellhop staff defied her and took all of our things to the unit anyway. Overall, we won't be returning. Jamie and Melissa (a different Melissa) at Coconuts are always great. The bellhops saved the day. But Melissa at reception needs to seek out a different profession, as she is not cut out for hospitality. This never happened in the old days. I think more care is given to owners than guests. As one owner explained, she would not be able to afford to own in the resort if it wasn't for the guests renting her unit when she was not there. We felt like we were intruders, not guests. We were very sad to be treated this way by Melissa at reception, especially after being guests for so many years. On a side note, our unit was dated and in need of repair. There were little bugs or mites in the kitchen and the largest cockroach I'd ever seen in the bathroom closest to the kitchen. I didn't even bother to discuss this with the front desk for obvious reasons.

Arrived to find out that we were moved to a unit off the beach, then were placed in a unit on the beach that but far below expectations for what was described as a deluxe unit. Unit was dirty, chairs were stained, bathroom door did not close, bathroom fan not working, masterbath tub caulking was dirty, kitchen stove drawer was falling off, cabinets did not close properly, TV only worked sometimes after many reboots. Unit has not been updated for some time. Ghost ants were everywhere.

We have returned every year for the last 12 with a large group of families and have always been satisfied with our stay--this year's changes in the ferry situation started everyone's vacation off frustrated and angry. Lovely island, great help by bellman/registration staff. A little confused once off the ferry where to go, a sign would help, unless I missed it!? Also, better information about water taxi hours as we had to cancel/make reservations on the island as the taxi wouldn't accommodate our planned dinner at Leverock's (plus heck of a walk had we used car ferry). I would definitely come back as I felt a million miles away and it took 1 1/2 hours from St. Pete, FL to make the trip.

We were in from out of town to attend a wedding taking place on Palm Island. We have attended a number of destination weddings over the years but found the Palm Island group to be the most interactive and helpful. There were nine of us, including young children, staying in one of their large villas. There was plenty of room with a very nice kitchen, living room, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. There was easy and safe access to a beautiful pool right behind the villa and a very short walk behind that was a beautiful beach! There is a very nice restaurant, a separate café, tennis courts and a very nice separate exercise area. All of us felt that the stay at Palm Island was much more than we expected and are talking about another trip down together.

What a great, quiet spot so close to home. The ferry ride makes you feel like you're really going somewhere, even though it is a short ride. Our unit was perfect. The kids were all upstairs in the loft area and our location to the pool and beach were just perfect. My son can't wait to go back too - mainly to drive the golf carts and find shark teeth. Not the most handicapped friendly location, but we knew that going in. The staff was extremely helpful. The Land & Sea package was well worth it too! You just have to make your own nightlife as the ice cream shop closes early.

We rented a 3-bedroon villa to treat the kids to a fun weekend before school starts. We live less than a hour away, but the ferry ride makes it feel like a real getaway! There were plenty of activities: we swam at the pool and beach, rode bikes, paddle boarded, fished, cooked out, and enjoyed the golf cart and the sunsets. Our villa was convenient and spacious. Our biggest complaint is not that the villa is in need of a remodel (it does need one... BIG TIME!). Our complaint is that it was really dirty around the edges, with an accumulation of dust, sand, food crumbs and hair (yes, disgusting). Apparently, housekeeping wipes down the surfaces, but deep cleaning of floors, baseboards, window sills, furniture, etc. is performed annually. I can't recall ever renting any accommodation this dirty, and at over $400 a night, the villa's condition was even more disappointing. We want to visit again, but we'll ask to inspect the villa before we move in!

Short Trip to the Beach
Our family enjoyed our quick trip to the beach! We stay along the gulf coast regularly and liked how quiet this property was. Make sure to always check for Red Tide warnings before traveling along the gulf coast! The beach and view are wonderful. The area was super quiet and we didn't see many other travellers. The staff at the resort was fantastic. It has an "old Florida" feel to it. The home layout worked well for our family. The property interiors are very, very dated. It reminded me of my grandparents Florida home in 1990. It didn't appear that any updates have been made in the past 20-30 years. The home was clean but worn. I needed to rewash pots and cooking utensils. Please note all information listed on description! You do need to take a short car ferry to the island, you don't park near your condo, and shopping for groceries is very, very limited. Come to the island with what you need!

We absolutely love Palm Island. This year was our 2nd 1 week stay. This unit had the best view for sunsets. The furniture - fabric chairs and couch were stained. Coffee pot was not cleaned out and had molded coffee grounds left behind. One master bath Faucet didn’t work. Guest bath tub downstairs, didn’t drain properly. Bath towels had holes in them. Dryer caused black marks on our white clothing. Outside screen door broken and the closer sticking out and rusty. Dangerous for our kids. Deck chairs moldy. Disappointed with this Deluxe unit.

Our family has been to Palm Island many times, but this was our first time staying at the resort. It was absolutely wonderful! The staff at the resort-- everyone from the registration, concierge and bellmen-- exceeded our expectations. We stayed in 2624. The unit was accurately described, clean and functional. The location was great! The unit could use upgrading, especially in the bathrooms and kitchen. I must also note that both the washing machine and dryer should be replaced. The dryer had a bad habit of eating parts of our clothes, which ruined them-- nothing major, but still it should be replaced, so that future guests don't have the same problem. Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and wouldn't hesitate to stay at the resort again, but we would probably choose a different unit, unless changes are made to the one we stayed in.
