Willemstad, capital and chief town of Curaçao, located on the southern coast of the island of Curaçao in the Caribbean Sea. It is divided into two halves, Punda and Otrabanda ("Other Side"). The two are connected by the famous Koningin Emma ("Queen Emma") Bridge; opened in 1888 and rebuilt in 1939, the bridge underwent a major restoration in the early 21st century. A fixed bridge was completed in 1974.
Willemstad is a Caribbean centre of trade, petroleum storage and refining, tourism, and banking. The town has many Dutch-style gabled houses. Notable buildings include Fort Amsterdam (1635), which once guarded the entrance to Schottegat Harbour and is now the seat of government and definitely worth a visit. Other, icon landmarks are the Dutch Reformed Church (1769) and the Mikvé Israel-Emanuel Synagogue (1732), the oldest synagogue in continuous use in the Western Hemisphere.
We also advise guest to visit Museum Kurá Hulanda, which chronicles the history of African empires, the slave trade, and the experiences of Africans in the Western Hemisphere. My wife and I spent 5 nights in Curacao, all at this apartment. Rented a car, and parking was unpredictable each time we arrived back from a drive. Plenty of space inside the apartment, with an open concept just as the photos show. Netflix is on the TV, if you have an account log-in. The balcony's wall of sliding doors offer a perfect view of the outdoor restaurants, the bridge swinging open often for boats, and the colorful sunsets. Check-in was done at the airport. However, the rep gave us the wrong keys (and the incorrect PIN code to enter the building). That made for a frustrating, sweaty wait with our luggage while we waited for the correct keys to be delivered to the property.

Our favorite part of Curaçao was staying in Punta. We usually stay off the beaten path, but wanted to try something different. You could not top this place! Perfect location to best things in town and central to rest of island. Interior so clean and new, Highlight is the historic building and balcony view of famous floating bridge. Watch it swing for boats from your stately view with a cocktail. For being above the action, the bedroom can be kept super quiet. Hosts available for any needs and were awesome with checking in and out. Highly recommend.

We wanted to stay in a more urban location and this apartment delivered what it promised. It is quite spacious and right on a historic row of buildings with a lovely view of St. Anna’s Bay. The apartment was clean, had all the appliances you might need, plates/bowls/glasses/mugs/utensils. Very close to bars and restaurants and to the pedestrian bridge and ferries to the other side of the bay. The host was easily accessible using WhatsApp. We had a bit of an issue with the air-conditioning in the bedroom but the other units kept us cool.
