About this apartment rental
Christmas availability - a cosy, Cornish Christmas with the magical 'Mousehole Lights'
Nestled on romantic Poldark's coastline, Island Watch is a small but beautiful, purpose-built apartment set on two levels with stunning views of Mount's Bay and St Clement's Island and a private balcony. The apartment makes a romantic, convenient and comfortable base from which to enjoy South West Cornwall: in December for the magic of a traditional old English Village Christmas, in the Spring for the walking and the flowers, in Summer for the beaches or, for one of our famous Indian Summers right into November. And every day when you rise or come home, you have the spectacular sea views to drink in from your lounge or the private balcony. It's a great spot for a honeymoon or special anniversary.
For Island Watch, made just for two, climb the simple wooden steps to your own entrance leading onto the first floor. Here you'll find the lounge with kitchenette and French doors to the sheltered balcony. Flanked by palm trees you can sip fresh coffee from the Nespresso machine and watch the wildlife in the sea and on the Island. The balcony is sheltered and quite a suntrap. The small wc and shower are also on this level.
Upstairs to the bedroom under the eaves. Here there's a very comfortable kingsized bed with good mattress (we renew regularly) and good quality cotton linen. There's also a small sofa, a selection of books (English, French and German) and storage space for your clothes. From the skylight you can see the Island again and if you leave it open, fall asleep listening to the sound of the water lapping on the shore some 50 metres away.
Parking right in front of the apartment gives you peace of mind in coming and going - so much of Mousehole has no reliable parking to offer. The flat is equipped with: TV, DVD player, Ipod dock and radio, Wifi, microwave/small oven, two plate induction hob, fridge with freezer compartment, Nespresso coffee machine, tea, coffee.
We live next door to the apartment and are happy to welcome you and leave you to yourselves or be on hand for any questions you may have or tips you need during your stay. If we are on holiday ourselves, my mother lives nearby and is on hand for any needs you have.
The house is neighboured by the gardens of the Old Coastguard Hotel, a boutique hotel with 13 rooms and a very fine restaurant. This is a quiet establishment and a lovely place to dine - but do book.

A beautiful apartment, lovely surroundings, and great communications with the hosts. We highly recommend it to visitors in Mousehole and Cornwall

Nice little place close to local amenities and clean and comfortable. Bedroom ceiling is very low and bedroom furniture was only reached by climbing up a very high step but it was cosy! All in all the place has everything you need including a very pretty view. The description mentioned a hot tub but we didn’t have one!

In keeping with Mousehole, the property is compact but has everything you need. Wonderful seaview from the living area/terrace and parking out the back. Esme was super kind to us and lent me her walking poles (there are really fabulous coastal walks all around the area) and even did a load of washing for us. Above and beyond.

Lovely location on edge of Mousehole, easy parking.
Small bathroom. Pitched ceiling in bedroom was somewhat back aching, but good floor space, good sized bed with crisp, fresh linen.
Cooking facilities are adequate.
View from lounge area and balcony is lovely.
The host was very thoughtful with cut flowers and welcome pack.
We enjoyed our stay.

The apartment is the perfect location. Just a short walk to all the shops, but a spot on view of both the harbor and the sea. Rob and Esme were very kind and accommodating

What a lovely small contained annex, perfect for what we wanted for our weeks stay, very clean, cosy and comfortable the view from the balcony is amazing and having the sky light open listening to the waves and seagulls whilst in bed was lovely already missing that!..Esme and Rob are very friendly and on hand with anything that you require..the flowers and gifts were very thoughtful especially the extra for our anniversary how kind..sadly didnt see any seals. Excellent place to stay whilst visiting Mousehole with plenty of places close by to visit, snd lovely places to eat. One day we will be back!

Island Watch fulfilled all of our expectations. From the superb sea view to the facilities indoors, it was everything we could have hoped for. Well equipped, (the freebies were very much appreciated!), free parking was a real bonus, location perfect, what more can we say. Our enquiries were answered promptly and courteously. Easy to see that we will be recommmending Island Watch to others.

Lovely position, nicely furnished but if you are a large or tall person this might not be the property for you.

Very cosy flat ideal for me being on my own. Parking space a bonus although suitable for a small car. Very comfy bed and large attic bedroom with sloping ceilings, found kitchen a little small for comfort but provided everything you need. Fore St restaurant best one I've been to in Cornwall. View from lounge wonderful as well as the balcony. Steps were easily manageable. Thank you for the goodies and help.

Everything was as described and we really enjoyed the apartment. Esme and Rob made us feel welcome. We would definitely recommend and might return

From the time we walked in to the time we left superb. The time we arrived and opened the door to the living room you are greeted with the view through the patio doors of the wonderful view out to the sea. Every time we left and went back the view was and is still stunning. We are so pleased we found this little gem. Excellent is an understatement of this wonderful part of Cornwall. You are positioned in a spot that has easy access to so much other magnificent Cornwall countryside. My advice is do not miss the chance to stay at this apartment. Amazing does not do it justice. Thank you.

I stayed in the appaetment in December and it was so lovely being able to look straight out to sea from the sofa even when it was cold outside! Really beautiful area, lovely walks right out the front door. Flat has everything you need and is cosy & comfy even though it is very very tiny. Only tiny complaint is the shower isn't very good. Thanks for a great stay.

A lovely small retreat , supplying all needs

Great location accommodation is small but balcony is great with sea views.
Restaurant recommendations were good especially the Bakehouse in Penzance. Only disappointment was 2ForeStreet. Food good but experience not great.
Overall we had a restful break visiting many local areas during our stay.

A lovely little property with a good hotel next door and a shoreline path that takes 2 minutes into Mousehole. AND parking!

We had a marvellous time in Mousehole and Island View is exactly what it says on the information. My only criticism is that the local information needs updating.

We (husband-wife) have been fortunate to found Esme & Rob's place, Island Watch, for our first Cornish holiday. We booked pretty last moment and only this one week was available for booking. The website description of the little apartment is wonderful, however, we got many surprises when we entered. First of all, even before the check-in, which was very easy, the communication from the owner's was superb with all the details about traveling and restaurants which came very handy. The car parking was a huge plus for us. As we entered the apartment living area, the warmly decorated rooms were very much inviting and the view of the sea was a pure bliss. We spent much quiet time enjoying this view from living room and balcony, and reading from their wonderful book collection. We were welcomed with a nice bottle of wine, flowers, coffee, milk and some Cornish fist snack - a truly warm touch from the owners. The attic room was good enough for us, the pictures on the website do not do justice to how much space is there in the attic. The kitchen was fully equipped(no grill, but that was not a problem for us). We did do small cooking for some of the dinners. This place felt like our home away from home, and we enjoyed our Cornish trip so much additionally because we knew every evening we would come back to this cosy heaven. Mousehole is a quaint fishing village and a convenient spot for traveling the South-West Cornwall. It has wonderful bus communication with Penzance. The village has pretty good restaurants. WE tried the following restaurants and all of them were excellent - 2 Fore Street in Mousehole (for lunch and dinner), The Bridge in Newlyn (for dinner), Land's end hotel for lunch, Polpeor Cafe at Lizard Point for lunch (this has to be out top pick), and cafes at St. Michael Mounts and at Minack Theatre for lunch. 2 Fore Street is also a wonderful choice. Both Polpeor and 2 Fore Street are fish and seafood lovers' heaven. With all these amazing experiences we received a great news about job when we were in Island Watch which made this place very lucky for us. Esme's mum came to visit us, and she is such a nice lady. We got to know some history from her as well. We would definitely go back to Cornwall and Island Watch next year in summer. Thank you very much Esme and Rob for all your hospitalities.

A perfect place for 2. Small but had everything we needed, with a great view of the sea. With Parking right outside the property, it made a great base to explore.

Very easy. That it was just one side of Mousehole meant I didn't need to go through it!

This must be the smallest property I've ever stayed in but it gad everything we needed.

Compact apartment overlooking the sea. Very clean and well equipped. 2 minute walk into town.
Great places to eat in Mousehole. Lovely views and walks. Good value for money and good location.

Wow, what a fantastic place. Although rather small, it's perfect, everything you need, outdoor space and an amazing view. Nothing better than sitting on the balcony in the sun, a glass of vino, seal watching. The village is set in a lovely traditional harbour with good eateries and is a short stroll from the apartment. An added bonus is allocated parking on site which is normally unheard of in these places. We will definately recommend and will return again.

Cosy retreat
We loved our stay, the accommodation is compact but has all you need for a relaxing holiday. As can be seen from the photos it has a small balcony with a wonderful view. It has a car parking space which is compact but we managed to fit our Kia Sportage in the yellow box, having a car parking space in Mousehole is a real bonus. The wi fi was good as the mobile signal can be weak.
It’s just a 5 minute stroll to the lovely Mousehole harbour. There is a bus stop just up from the property which takes you to Penzance this takes about 20 minutes and runs every 20-30 minutes. From there you can take open top busses to Lands end and St Ives etc. A day ticket costs just £5 and you can use concession passes if you have them.
Due to the compact nature and steep stairs it may not be suitable if you have mobility issues. However it suited us just fine and we loved our stay there.

Amazing stay the views were great and Rob and Esme were so helpful with local knowledge
the property is small but perfectly formed once you get used to the ceiling in the bedroom. The views from the balcony were amazing and you will never tire of watching the boats come in and out and the seals on the rocks.

We loved staying at this apartment.
It was cosy and had everything we needed. It was clean, well decorated and the best bit was the balcony where we enjoyed sitting out seal watching!
