Nous ne pouvions déjeuner à l'Auberge.
Les chambres sont très moyennes pour le prix élevé. Ma compagne a dû faire elle-même le petit lit. la chambre de bain était impeccable.

Location was the biggest selling point.
No breakfast provided. More comfortable seating in the room would have been nice. Better lighting. Improve the bedspread/decor and could have been 4 star.

We stayed at the Knowlton because we wanted a friendly, warm hotel in the middle of the village. We were following the path of Inspector Gamache in the Louis Penny 3 Pines books. It was perfect. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean, the room easily handled the twin and single beds. We were on the second story of the building on the main corner of downtown so we got to watch people laughing and walking their dogs. The restaurant downstairs is wonderful. We had mussels the first night and onion soup the second. Top notch food and excellent service. Everything about the place said warmth and comfort and home. We loved our stay.
Everything was great.

The bistrôt could not have been more convenient.
Our bathroom was awfully small, but that can't be helped.

My husband and I were visiting the Eastern Townships of Quebec for the week and the Auberge Knowlton was our home base. It is the longest continously operating inn in the area, originally an 1849 stagecoach inn. We loved the mix of historical and modern comforts. The owners and staff were welcoming and the inn's very polite border collie, Charlie, was a bonus. Guests also receive a discount for dinner each night downstairs at the bistro/restaurant. Every meal (dinners and breakfast) that we had there did not disappoint! The Auberge is located in an ideal location for walkability around the village.
It wasn't an issue for us, we were there because of the historical factor and knew ahead of time, but travelers with mobility issues should be aware that the Auberge is located up a flight of stairs and there is not an elevator.

There was none.
The key for the front door did not work. The rooms have no security or safety.

Great location. Great town.
There was nothing I did not like.

Location was great for the reason we visited Knowlton. The hotel was old, but comfortable and clean. The cleaning staff was absolutely wonderful and very helpful. Particularly enjoyed the community "coffee" room as there were 4 of us in separate rooms.
The front desk staff was pretty much non-existent and gave us the impression they didn't really care. For example, we arrived late and for two of us our rooms keys were just left at the front desk in envelopes, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing. But we had an issue the first night do to an erroneous cancellation (don't think it was the hotel's fault) but we were lucky enough to be able to accommodate because two of us shared our rooms. The housekeeping staff were the employees that provided all of our help.

The management has done a nice job incorporating modern conveniences into a charming historic building.

The Inn was lovely intimate space with a gracious hostess.
Property nice but unfortunately it’s restaurant was closed contrary to the advertising.

great location. walking distance to the local businesses.
You must be able to walk up at least one flight of stairs. It was not a problem for us but I can see how this would be impossible for handicapped visitors. Overall I would classify this place as “Rustic” with few amenities. That said, it is exactly what we were expecting for our one night stay passing through.

The room was delightful with a great shower with good pressure and lots of hot water. Very convenient for access to Bromont and local attractions.
The car park was a sheet of ice and while we didn't slip on it, we had to be very careful walking on it. This is partly due to seasonal snow, rain and cold temperatures. It needed some work to make it less slippery.
It's a pity the restaurant, Le Relais is not open for breakfasts during the week. Last year I stayed here on a weekend and the breakfast was delicious.

liked the coffee room but would have been nice if we’d had two coffee pods per person!

if I had mobility issues, it would not be great

the fact that my room was 2 flights up and limited porterage. then to discover that there was no breakfast despite the location of a restaurant on the ground floor. then when we had our food for the shared facilities room to find that we had to run around to find someone to sort out the electrics was not really ideal . we saved you from a flood or a fire with a leaking broken fridge plus no electrics and barely a thank you . very poor

This is a lovely older auberge in a fantastic location. It is charming and older but very clean and you can't get a better location. Bringing in my luggage was not easy and I wish I knew that. I have a back issue and the auberge is on the second floor up a steep and tall stair. I have learned I need to be more aware of stairs - not their fault. They even called and checked on me as I ran late driving up from the States.
Getting into the building with luggage - I forget I am older now ;)!
